Tatte is a unique chain of bakeries in various locations on the East Coast of the U.S. Beautiful décor, white walls, and bright and airy space. My most recent visits have been at the Assembly row location. Super busy even though there are multiple other coffee options in the area. My go to order is the smoked salmon and avocado egg sandwich. UNREAL! I love this breakfast sandwich so much! It has smoked salmon, avocado, red onion, capers, sprouts, scrambled eggs, green herbed dressing on a homemade challah roll. The roll is so soft and the flavors blend perfectly with every bite. I would eat this everyday for breakfast it is so satisfying! My advice would be the earlier you get there the better. Although there are various seating options, they fill up quickly. There are multiple locations sprinkled throughout the Boston area, so it is definitely worth checking out. read more

Love Tatte food but this location is just so chaotic and has poor service. My online order got lost, a couple people said it should be coming, another said it was sent to the kitchen again. Took way too long, the pastries that I initially ordered were out so I was forced to pick other pastries that I did not want instead of just getting refunded. read more

Even though this bakery/cafe is part of a chain it doesn't feel like one. The food and coffee are always super high quality and I am never disappointed. You order your food and coffee at the counter and then they call out your name/number for your coffee for you to pick up and then they bring out your food to you. The first Tatte I went to was in Washington DC a few months ago so I was excited to find one here in Boston. There is lots of seating available too and they have some outdoor tables too which was nice. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich which is a budget friendly, filling option. Don't order mobile pickup from here. People will steal your food. It's a known problem and they won't do anything about it. Waste of time.

I always enjoy having brunch at a Tatte, their menu is the right balance of having enough choices to get something you like and not having too much where it gets overwhelming. I went to this Assembly Row branch during Sunday and it was definitely packed for brunch. It took us a while to find seating so I would recommend coming during the off hours or be prepared to take your food with you. The interior looks like all of the other branches, nothing too special. We got the Lamb Hash, Greek Style Pancakes, and their London Fog Latte. Their hash was delicious and full of great spices flavors. My only wish is that it came with two poached eggs instead of one so that the hash to egg ratio would be more balanced. There pancakes were also great, really enjoyed the house-made pear jam that came with it. read more

I absolutely adore this place!!! Great food - everything from breakfast items, pastries, salads, sandwiches and warm bowls. The latte I ordered was also made with love! I came for a lunch date with a girlfriend and there are several different seating areas available. Some people were there with friends or solo coworking. Solid 3.5 but rounded up to 5! Wanted to try this place considering it was really popular. Purchased an almond cherry scone, plain croissant, fruit box (similar to a fruit tart) a crumble mini cheesecake, and freshly squeezed mint lemonade! Came to $32! That was an expensive mid day "snack" which I feel was a hit on the expensive side. My son LOVED his croissant, and actually LOVED and ate the ENTIRE fruit box (he often orders fruit tarts but does not eat the entire tart)! I didn't really enjoy the scone as it was cold (I asked for it warmed) and void of any type of flavor. The cheesecake however was absolutely delicious! It has a similar taste to the no bake cheesecakes that I am obsessed with! The cookie crumble was perfect topping and the graham cracker or cookie or whatever it was fruits was AMAZING! I would seriously be in danger of gaining weight if I lived nex to one of these - based on the cheesecake filling alone. The service was great- the woman was friendly and super sweet to my son, although it appeared she was the only one actually working. There were many cooks in the kitchen but nobody appeared to be doing much of anything. Generally the ambience is nice- and the atmosphere is reminiscent of an upscale Starbucks? The look was crisp, neutral, black and white, and it was actually quite large! Tons of tables/chairs as well as bar style seating near the windows. They also had an enclosed area on the sidewalk, which I'm assuming they offer in spring/summer & it looked really cute! Overall I would definitely return, but would I come here daily? Probably not just because of the price. I really like the ambience/decor and general aesthetic of this place. It appears they own a lot of these in Boston, maybe time to expand?! read more

Nom nom nom. Decided to try another location today. We got takeout so all I can comment on is the food... Everything was delicious and great, as expected. We got iced lattes, chocolate croissants, halva bombs (GF), a mixed seasonal fruit box, and strawberry tea cakes (GF). Heated the croissant a little and it was gooey and warm, flakey and buttery. The bomb was exploding with flavor. The fruit box was crunchy/dense on the outside filled with fluffy cream and fresh berries. The tarted didn't last long. One of the shakier Tatte's I've been too. Many of the baked goods were incorrectly baked, for example Jerusalem bagels were somehow stale and undercooked. Forgot about our drinks, one took a half hour and I had to go looking for it. Eggs were not done as requested, etc. Nice outdoor space. read more

I'm a huge fan of Tatte . Not sure what's going on with this particular location. Every single time I've been here , they got our order wrong : wrong milk , added gluten free bread when I never asked for it , or drinks just never show up until you go to the coffee bar to "remind " them of the order . The employees behind the register look like their high on drugs and you have to repeat your order multiple times . Once they read back your order , it's still wrong . Management needs to step in and figure out what's going on here . read more

I normally come for their coffees/lattes/shakshukas but I decided to try their Halloumi Salad this time and wow!! The crunchy and salty halloumi cheese paired so well with the apples, carrots, radish, raisins, and almonds, which complemented so well with the tahini vinaigrette and the crisp baby lettuce. The salad was savory yet light and refreshing and it was a perfect lunch on a warm sunny day. I also got a Kouign Amann which was good but not as flaky as I had imagined. The best chain in Boston! The food is very affordable and the coffee drinks are great. My personal favorite dishes are the Shashuka and the smoked salmon tartine. All of their pastries are wonderful as well. I love the Beacon Hill and Back Bay locations but this one is bigger and brighter. It gets busy on the weekends so get there early! read more

Just ordered breakfast here through DoorDash with my friends. Order was well packaged and came quickly. I ordered the Croissant Sandwich without arugula and added bacon. The croissant was delicious and buttery. Egg and bacon were cooked to perfection. I'm pretty sure there's cheese in the sandwich but I didn't taste it all. I think that's because the avocado as a bit lemony and that overpowered some of the other tastes. Overall delicious and would order again. read more

Lived in Medford for 6 months and was there when this location first opened. Came here as a regular. Back in Boston for vacation and brought our extended family for a Boston trip. Brought them here on Thursday morning for breakfast after raving about how great it is. Total disappointment. Paid for food we didn't get. Manager herself helped us, charged us, and didn't give us our cheese bourek. Very rude to our family when they ordered. Told them "can you move"!!! How about "please"??? Then they recommend they order something and afterwards don't bring the item over saying it wasn't ordered. If the employee recommends an item to you and order it, how can they then tell you "you didn't order that." No apologies from manager. So disappointed and frankly embarrassed with bringing family here after raving about it. Come on people!!! You can do better!!! read more

I've placed my orders through their web site and the last two were wrong. When I spoke with the manager she was pleasant but unapologetic, and no effort was made to retain me as a customer. I won't go back. Wondering if my order will be correct shouldn't be part of the experience. read more

How disappointing - they got my to-go order wrong twice today! I ordered in advance on their app - a sandwich that is supposed to be on untoasted challah. I rushed over to get the sandwich before a meeting only to discover it was on their multi-grain bread, which I cannot eat because of the seeds. I had no time to go back before my meeting, so over an hour later, I return to the Tatte to get a new sandwich. The server's response way "oy yeah we are out of challah". Come on Tatte - lots of restaurants have their systems updated to note when an item is not available. Or they call the customer to discuss substitutions. At very least, I would think you would indicate on the bag that you substituted an ingredient... So, I ask for it on their sourdough bread. I mention how disappointed and frustrated I am with the situation and, kuddos to the server as she went to ask her manager if she could comp it. Nope....manager says no, we do not comp anything. They did rush the sandwich through so I only waited about 5 minutes. As I walked away, I thought: maybe I should check this before I get back to my desk. And then I said to myself, no way will they get it wrong a second time. BUT THEY DID! My sandwich is missing an ingredient and the sourdough is toasted, which would not necessarily be a problem but it is DRENCHED in butter on the outside side of the bread. It is so greasy I have to wipe my hands and mouth each time I take a bite. Tatte - you have over 30 locations and are VERY expensive for what the customer gets. You really should comp the customer when you get the order wrong. You can afford it! read more

The food and ambiance is great like all the other Tattes, although the service needs to be improved. The Asian cashier refused to refill hot water for our Chamomile tea. We thought he misunderstood something and asked again, he replied " talk to our manager". That's not a pleasant experience, hope this is just an exception and could be improved. read more

Horrible experience at breakfast on 11/20. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with a small amount of customization (changed bread/added avocados). The sandwich came out & was missing avocado & drenched in butter & grease (closer to a grilled cheese). When I inquired about avocado I was spoken down to by staff & dismissed that the issue was all my fault & must have ordered wrong. Some of the worst service I have experienced in recent times. All that for $35 for two coffees/egg sandwiches. The staff had every chance to make right, but seemed to have no issue that we left with food uneaten . Stay clear of this place, it does not deserve your business. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences at this location, always quick service and delicious. The bacon, potato, mushroom shakshuka was by far one of the best menu items I have had.
