Food/Drinks: The pastries at this location were delicious, and I loved the fact that there was a variety of pastries to choose from. They also had a lot of different coffee and latte options. We loved everything we got it was very tasty and worth the price. I would also say that the food aesthetic was definitely there! Location: This location is a casual coffee spot where you can sit down, have breakfast and pastries, and enjoy your coffee. It's a great place to go with friends, for a quick meeting, or even to get some work done. It's a very spacious location. It had a good amount of tables to occupy. We were visiting and walked here from our hotel, so I'm not sure how convenient parking is in this area. Service: Service was quick and effective. It was more of a grab-and-go setup from the counter, so interaction was limited, but everything was provided and done well.
Wonderful breakfast at Tatte! High quality chocolate in the hot chocolate (the whole milk didn't hurt), and wonderful pastries and a breakfast plate for the more high maintenance diners at our table. Had a wonderful conversation with a bird about the health benefits of Tylenol for early morning travel. :) Also stole bacon.... Because when you sleep with someone every night, you get to eat their bacon. Shout out to the beautiful and kind staff who patiently waited for two slow-deciding teenagers! So sweet!
Couldn't wait to try Tatte! This cafe is gorgeous and the pastries were so fresh. I went right at open and the shelf was full of bread and desserts. I love that they have a separate counter for the barista to have plenty of space to work in. One of the best cafes I've visited and was more than affordable.
I absolutely love that Tatte has so many locations. I have a great experience at all the ones I've been to so far and always experience great service. We ordered several items on the menu and from the bakery. I think my favorite baked good was the cheese boureka. I also loved the leek, potato, and spinach quiche. My sisters loved the ham and cheese croissant, and emphasized that the Dijon mustard was a great addition to the sandwich. And we all loved the passionfruit crembo!
Tatte was the perfect breakfast stop, has a nice vibe inside and super convenient since it was just a block away from the Hilton we were staying at. Walking in, it's impossible not to be tempted by the pastry counter, which was packed with beautiful baked goodies (especially the pistachio treats I almost caved for). I went with the smoked salmon avocado and egg dish instead, and honestly, it was the best way to start the day--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to fuel our long walk through monuments and museums. My husband ordered the French toast, which he loved, and our friends had eggs and bacon. The cappuccinos were great too. It did get quite crowded, but the food is worth it. A great spot for a solid, satisfying breakfast in DC.
Tatte's always hits. Every time. The service is so quick, so the long lines are never that intimidating. I've had the Shakshuka here so many times and it never gets old. You could easy share with someone else - it's pretty big. Delicious! And by far my favorite thing. The avocado tartine is also good - filling and flavorful. The dill offers an interesting twist on basic avocado toast. Love the friendly atmosphere here - great place for coffee or a lunch.
The service was quick and attentive! The interior is beautiful. However, I was very disappointed in the matcha latte I ordered. For over $6, I expect that the matcha latte actually has matcha flavor. All I could taste was the whole milk. I would not order this again and feel ripped off. I tried to order the seasonal Mango Ginger refresher drink, but they were sold out at 11:30am. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience at a cafe I typically like.
We were staying at a hotel just a block away and decided to give this place a try, but before I arrived, I decided to read through dozens of current reviews. Overall, the consensus of the 600+ reviews is that the food here is really great and a very popular spot to eat. On the downside, many yelpers complain about the service and staff being rude. Some things that didn't get mentioned is the fact that they do have public bathrooms, but you need a code to get in. They do offer catering services, and there is lots of outdoor seating, weather permitting. Everything is served on proper plating and silverware. One thing we also found out is that they unfortunately no longer make their famous quiche (a very recent decision) which was one reason we came here. They have two coffee prep stations with turbinado sugar, simple syrup and oat milk. Cash (no C notes tho) and credit accepted and yes, the tip screen will be waiting. On our visit, the line moved quickly, and the staff were very friendly. My breakfast croissant was made with the freshest ingredients and the coffee is on par with Starbucks (no free refills). The only complaint I could find is that they did not warm up my pastry selection which was a little hard. They have the right formula working for them here, efficiency, timely, quality fare, good vibe with music overhead and a nice dining experience. Informative photos and video included.
Had a wonderful brownie with walnuts with coffee, one night -- Yummy. returned for breakfast next day and was disappointed with scrambled eggs not tasty and not cooked well, the hash brown type potato with a cheese on it was awful and bacon was not great either. My group also has lunch one day from them and the sandwiches were fine. But, I have mixed feelings and mixed experiences with the food. The counter staff and those who brought food to me were fine. Maybe next time I must select better to just stay with desserts and coffee.
Super cute inside and a slammed spot, but quick in and out The pastries looked delicious but my body was begging me not to get one today after so much dairy and sugar the past few days with travel I just got their house latte hot with oat milk and it's really good, although it's a bit plain. I would probably have preferred the pistachio latte but I wanted to try their specialty.

This was a gorgeous cafe with many coffee and baked goods options. I got a cortado which was great, and shared some baked goods with friends- a jelly donut, a flourless brownie, and an espresso mousse. The donut was to die for, the brownie chocolatey and fudgey, and the mousse so smooth and silky. I'd get each of these items again in a heartbeat. Please be aware though- this cafe most definitely has DC prices. read more
This bakery is going to be a repeat when I'm back in DC! I loved the variety of pastries and sweets they have but I was craving a savory dish so I decided to get a Salmon, Avocado Egg sandwich. It was so delicious! The herb dressing made my morning so much better. My friend got a a croissant with a runny egg and arugula. The house latte was earthy and lightly sweet with notes of cardamom. We also tried one little sweet treat with Nutella and it reminded me of a shortbread cookie. Jania at the register was extremely sweet and we bonded over our names being similar. She explained how the latte was going to taste and I'm glad I took her recommendation to try it. I definitely would love to go back to try more pastries and tiramisu! It was a very busy shop at 10/11 in the morning. Also we sat outside but there were a lot of birds attacking the dishes and getting lots of leftover bread. So if you're afraid of birds, you probably shouldn't sit outside but I enjoyed the patio view. read more

Every time I visit DC Tatte is always the first place I go and I love that they now have so many locations! I first started going here just for coffee, which is amazing, but I started seeing food come out of the kitchen that looked insanely good! Now every time I go I have to get a coffee and something to eat, everything I have tried has been delicious! If you're ever in DC this place should always be on your list of places to go! read more

Has a lovely interior and is always packed; seating can be challenging, so I usually get mine to-go. The croissants are too hard for me, perhaps not pulled enough or overbaked. The brownie is attractive, and I enjoy the superior-quality walnuts on top, but the flavor is average. Their gluten free oatmeal cookie is both large and chewy however there's some kind of spice thing going on with it that's somewhat overbearing--but do appreciate that Tatte offers this gluten free option. The counter staff is professional, if a little stiff. read more
Try: Smoked Salmon, Avocado, and Egg Sandwich and Iced Honey Halva Latte! Why: The sandwich was large, fresh, and filling. Loved the buttery eggs and the sprouts! Bread was ok but everything in the middle was delicious and it was packed with salmon and eggs. Also enjoyed washing down the sandwich with an Iced Honey Halva Latte. Note: Spacious bakery with many indoor table and bar seating. They also had outdoor seating. Clean place with a few bathrooms. Workers were nice and after I picked up coffee from barista, my sandwich was brought over to my table. Server was friendly. Pastries all looked wonderful on display - will need to come back and try. Discovered Tatte in Boston and was ecstatic to find there were several in DC! This location was a few minutes from the hotel and went there every morning during my stay! If a coffee shop can get a basic latte right - it's a good thing! There's an assortment of delicious pastries to choose from as well as breakfast and brunch. It does get crowded but the lines move quickly and our baristas were friendly! You line up, grab a menu and then place your order. You pick up your coffee at the barista section. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe is more catching up friends over the weekend or business meeting instead of a quiet place to work or study. They offer an assortment of milk choices for your coffee. read more
(Overall: B) - Tatte Bakery is a cute and large cafe that gives students at the nearby university a peaceful way to study while grabbing a tasty bite. Their menu has an interesting assortment of items that look pretty and taste reasonable and I would've definitely been thrilled to have a similar place at my university. (Lemon Meringue: A) - A beautiful personal sized tart with a golden sheen of well torched meringue followed by an acidic lemon curd. The extreme sweetness of the meringue balances with the acidic forward curd, which has some reprieve coming from that slightly salted tart shell. Overall, well made pastry, although I would have preferred more slightly restraint flavors. (Passionfruit Tart: C) - This is a passionfruit based treat topped with a white chocolate shell, which I found rather overpowering with respect to the delicate fruitiness. It's a great DC/Boston bakery chain with fun coffee options and delicious food but the service here was very hit and miss. With the misses leaving a really sour taste in our mouths. It's kind of a seat yourself kind of restaurant and on this Saturday morning there were some empty tables but it filled up pretty quick. Breakfast croissant Quiche: Get both of these! They were so amazing being so fluffy, crispy, and fresh. Highly recommend these two for a nice breakfast or brunch to start your day Tatte Latte: Skip This was just okay and it was a fun interesting spin on a normal latte but not necessarily any better Service: Weird The server was acting very pretentious and aloof while we were ordering which made us feel very uncomfortable. Tatte is always a win for me. Came here for breakfast with the family and I don't think I've ever hated anything I've tried. Had an iced vanilla latte and a smoked salmon sandwich. Be prepared to wait a bit for coffee when they're busy but I didn't mind. The sandwich was great and I also ate some shakshuka which is always my fave to get. Since this was our first visit, we entered the cafe and stood back to determine how the process worked. Because we were dining in, the flow was initially unclear. The place was crowded and all seating appeared to be filled to capacity, so we approached the counter to obtain more clarity about ordering, seating, etc. The menu was located at the counter. For dining in, you have to take a number and place it on the table that you choose based on availability. It took about ten minutes to find a place to sit. We ordered the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, avocado and arugula and matcha lattes. However, when the order arrived, it was a toasted sandwich on what appeared to be multigrain bread with scrambled eggs and melted cheese. The mistake was corrected quickly and without a problem. The actual sandwich arrived on one of the most buttery, flaky croissants that I have ever tasted. The eggs were perfectly scrambled and the blend of flavors down to the arugula was a good mixture. The matcha was very fresh and without sugar. It was the perfect pairing with the very rich breakfast sandwich. The cafe was brightly lit with both natural and indoor lighting. The design was open concept. There must have been available wifi because numerous people were working on their laptops and eating. It was a constant flow of customers. The parking was pretty good for DC. We parked directly in front of the cafe. read more
Ugh I LOVE Tattes! The quality is soooo good and this one is no exception. Their pastries are delicious; I hope I can try every one someday. Their seasonal lattes always hit the spot and it's an excellent spot to sit down with a colleague or friend and slow down. It gets a little loud during the lunch hour, but you can always select a table outside if you are worried about that. read more

Tatte (pronounced Taa-tay) is a brunch paradise with absolutely drooling sweet & savory delicacies mesmerizing you the moment you walk in. This place is wide and buzzy with the service being a daily challenge. You wait in line & place your order, then take your number card to a competitive table and waiters bring your hot order to you.( imaginably after scouting the whole place) Must try items- House latte with honey halva & cardamom, Oat milk Mocha, Tomato Mozzarella Pesto Flatbread, Apricot pistachio cake, Tea cakes, and Pavlova. Shakshuka looks nice & filling but tasted average. So did the chocolate sandwich cookie. The line is very long in the morning but it moves quickly. You can grab your pastry and then order a beverage at checkout. They also have plates for dine in and take out. I loved the original Tatte in Brookline so when I saw it was in DC, I made that mile trek to get the almond croissant of my dreams. The memories flood back in as my taste buds sing! Wasn't a fan of the pistachio croissant but if you like salty and a bit sweeter, go for it. It's not bad, just not my jam. Didn't have time for their epic Shashuka but if you come, get it. You won't regret it. read more

It's a bit crowded but that's expected because it's a pretty well known chain in a metropolitan center. The vibes a great tho, and it's remincient of a European cafe with a more robust sit down menu. It's offering something pretty artisanal compared to other chain cafes in the area read more
I love that Tatte is expanding to the dmv area. It gets very crowded on weekends. We got their Kouign-amann, multi grain bread, smoked salmon avocado and egg sandwich, and iced pistachio latte. I recommend their breakfast sandwich and multigrain bread. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the challah roll it's on is light and fluffy. The iced pistachio latte has grinder up pieces of pistachio and it was good, but not enough pistachio flavor. There's tons of indoor and outdoor seating but it might be hard to find seating on a busy weekend. Service was great. read more

Tatte is work adjacent, so I'm blessed to have my morning triple cappuccino before work! The pastries here are European standards, the batista incredible, and the food (sandwiches, soups, and salads) incredibly. Use their top play your order online for pick up,it's quick and efficient. The ambiance gets busy during lunchtime, as one would imagine. read more

Visited 8/1/24. Who doesn't love a good breakfast sandwich? Got the egg cheese and bacon on sourdough and an iced coffee. They moved through the line at the counter quickly and I waited less than 10 minutes to get my food. The sandwich was delicious with the highlight being that really good sourdough. Such great chew to it. Would definitely recommend visiting Tatte as a quick breakfast stop in before a day of activities or as a cute place to stop in for coffee. read more
A must stop when in DC! This Tatte location was just down the street from my hotel so I made it my mission to stop in as often as I could during the week I was in the city. The restaurant itself is so spacious and gorgeous with counter seating along the back wall, bar style seating by the coffee area, and many tables and chairs throughout. Despite being packed, the line moves quickly and all the servers are efficient in getting orders in and cranked out. I had their breakfast platter with the beef sausage patties and thought it was a tad on the saltier side but delicious nonetheless. What really shines here is their extensive pastry case of every assortment of flaky, savory, or sweet goodness you can think of. The pistachio croissant, brownie, and tiramisu were all standouts to me as was their original Tatte latte. If you're a fan of cardamom you'll love that. With so many scrumptious options, the only negative about this place is figuring out where to start first. It's perfect to start your day or a midday pick me up. Excited to be back in DC to have this again! read more
While visiting DC I was so glad to find out there were several Tatte's Bakery's. I ate at one in Boston last year and was excited to try it again! It was quite a busy Sunday morning but there is plenty of seating inside and outside. Staff is super kind and helpful. Decor is nice and as mentioned it's very spacious. We ordered an iced latte, two egg avocado and cheese croissant breakfast sandwiches, and a tart and some little Nutella cookies. Everything was delicious! A really good menu with various all day options. I'm especially a fan of their breakfast/brunch options. Food is fresh and delicious! read more
Absolutely stunning experience when I came in yesterday in search of a power outlet and something to spike my blood sugar. A friend from GWU recommended this spot, assuring me that it was the perfect spot for getting work done, but I was dubious when I saw the line. I decided to wait in line--even if I wouldn't get an outlet, I'd still get a delicious little pastry and cafe latte! The line of 10+ was shockingly quick, and to my surprise there was an entire bar row studded with outlets! The baristas were super friendly and suggested a spot opposite of the counter. The outlets were very efficient and resurrected my phone. I started sketching the café, and a girl pulled into the seat next to me and asked me about the little doodle. Two hours later, we had each others Instagrams and practically knew each other's life story. Tatte does a phenomenal job of creating a crossroads for people from all walks of life. They've achieved what many other chains have attempted to accomplish with establishing the "third place", and I will absolutely be returning again. read more

This cafe is just beautiful from the outside. We came in from lunch at 12:30, no seats. We ended up seating outside which I highly do not recommend the birds are gross and are everywhere due to the lack of cleaning of plates from the service of the restaurant being so busy. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. The chicken salad is my favorite thing, along with the chocolate croissants, and London Fog Latte. The staff is all so friendly but they are SO busy! read more
Don't be intimidated by the long line - it moves fast. My bf ordered the lamb hash, I got the salmon, avocado, and egg sandwich, and we shared a turmeric honey latte. The lamb could have used a bit more seasoning but the dish was excellent overall. My sandwich was probably one of the best I've ever had! Croissant is fresh and fluffy and I really liked the alfalfa to balance out the saltiness. The tomato salad from the lamb hash also paired well with the sandwich. And I liked how the latte was not too sweet. It's too bad there isn't a Tatte in Miami. I'd be there every day! read more
