I asked an appointment via this yelp app to get a tattoo an a VCH piercing. I had to describe the tattoo I wanted and add a photo as references. The owner Peter responded same day but like 1am. He also told me about all I needed to know. He was really nice. I wanted a geometric tattoo. Nelson did the tattoo and it was exactly what I asked. He did a great job despite the language barrier (I'm french). It lasted about 50min. They all were very nice and polite and learned his tattooing experince over 19years. I payed 400$ for the tattoo (a little expensive compare to london prices but the quality is perfect, i would have paid more no problem). My piercing phase Before coming here, I was looking at various other piercing places, and what really made up my mind was my phone call with Peter (the owner) a few months ago. I told him I was interested in getting a VCH piercing, but that I was doing some intense cross-fit for a week. He said he couldn't advise that I get the piercing, as my training could cause complications with the healing process, and that I should hold off on getting it. I felt really impressed with his professionalism and concern for my healing, which completely overshadowed his concern for a sale. I went and got my VCH piercing ($150). I texted with Peter using whastapp a few times beforehand , and each time he responded very quickly. Then I got to meet him in person, and he was super friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions. As for my piercing process, I got called into the room by Peter, and he made me feel completely comfortable. He's confident, with the credentials from Osha and cross contamination procedures. He told me of his experience with piercing (20 years I believe he said) and of his yearly refresher courses to make sure he was up to date. He was a lot of fun, and I know he tried his best to distract me from the pain. I remember he said breath in ~ count to 10 for me please I can guarantee I'm very fast, so it won't hurt for long, And he was right! He was extremely quick, which I was thankful for. I could tell he was a genuinely good person, who just wanted to make sure that I was happy and confident with my piercing. He answered all of my questions, checked out my nose piercing (which was slightly irritated & pierced at a different store), and gave me aftercare advice on both piercings. Because I had to go out of my way to get to the city, I told him I wouldn't be able to come back for checkups anytime soon. He handed me his business card and told me to message him using whatsapp that i could reach him at any time. Another long overdue review! I was a little off on traveling to queens but 6 of my friends has made it to this shop and after seeing their tattoos i had to visit. As most places in NY have the "F.U." attitude. Welllll not this place. I was really shocked to see how helpful they were. One of my friends that got tattooed by them mentioned "they want u to go back to check on the tattoo-now, this i like and free touch up if need it". he went back for a touch up, despite the fact that the original tattoo artist was let go. Peter the owner said he'd honor the free touch up he had promised. So needless to say nice. Honorable businesses are few and far between, but add this one to the list. I got my second tattoo at Tattoo Alley, and I was very happy with the service and the result again. My brother came here when he visited me in New York back in November of 2014. He was getting his first tattoo and he wanted it to be detailed and realistic, so he had done some communication with Peter and felt that Tattoo Alley would be a good fit. Both our tattoo artists took good care of us and listed to our wishes. We are both very happy with the result and could not have found a better place. Peter the owner rocks. Prices are reasonable, all consultations are free, great work hands down tho, and with 100s of shops around me in the lower Manhattan area someone would be skeptical for the trip but the shops near me are ridiculous charging $250, up to $350 per hour depending on the artist, and some shops are even charging for the consultation. My sleeve is amazing, i get so many questions on it by tattoo artist lost count. Tattoo Alley takes great care of their costumers and Peter will match you with an artist that fits the style of the tattoo you want. In the end you pay for a great result that will last your whole life so it is worth the money. Keep in mind that this is a cash only place! To make a long story short, I recently had a TERRIBLE experience at a nearby piercing place (StayOnPoint Tattoos-see review). I left there still in pain, which I know from experience just wasn't right, and so immediately googled something close by. Tattoo Alley was it. When I got there, the owner (?) Peter, was APPALLED at the job this other piercer did on me. He told me exactly what the other guy had done wrong, and most of all why it needed to be done correctly. It wasn't just a matter of aesthetics (which were bad), but that if I left my rings in as is, they would have never healed properly, not to mention would have just gotten tighter and more uncomfortable. Ugh! Peter was patient, knowledgeable, informative, honest, and to my extreme delight and relief, extremely gentle. In comparison to the other place where tears were streaming down my face, I literally did not even FEEL it when Peter swapped out the terrible rings the other guy had put in, and placed properly sized hoops designed specifically for a nose (if you can believe it, that's not what was put in my nose to begin with). This place might not be the cheapest (I spent probably twice as much here, though still not a lot) however, I think I learned my lesson about what is worth paying for and what isn't. I hope you don't have to learn the same lesson! Great place and highly recommended if what you need is a professional (and not some hack job). read more

Tattoo Alley is my hidden treasure. I live by Woodside and Tattoo Alley is by Greenpoint and Sunnyside...a true convenience for residents living by Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside, and Jackson Heights. My first official piercing was July 28, 2018 and my left tragus was pierced. Then I went by again July 30, 2018 to get 4 more piercings...two piercing on each earlobe. I got a total of 5 piercings within a 2 day span. I was set to go on vacation mid August. Here's the beauty...NO PAIN OR INFECTION!!!! Then I came back August 25, 2018 to have my right tragus pierced. My sixth piercing was neither painful nor did any infection occur. My last and final piercing was September 19, 2018. I decided to have my nose pierced...no pain or infection once again!!!! This is no accident or coincidence! All piercings were done by Peter. He uses new needles for all piercings and manually pierced the area...no piercing gun EVER! Instructions in maintaining my piercings is simple. The environment is relaxed and the staff are professionals. I refer all my friends to Tattoo Alley because prices are reasonable and I'm healing in peace! I teach for Department of Education and I'm currently 46 years old doing piercings for the first time in my life...I picked the perfect spot. read more

Tattoo Alley is one of the best shops in Queens..They have a versatile group of tattooers that can accommodate any style of work. Amazing artists and even better people. I was visiting New York and wanted to get a souvenir from our trip. Before I visited, a friend recommended this shop. Even though I was nervous about visiting a shop I had never been to before, I couldn't have been more pleased. From what I could tell, they seem to really care about the integrity of the people working there and the cleanliness and professionalism of shops. They listened patiently when I was having trouble deciding on the final artwork and even moved and re-pasted the stencil when I thought the placement was too low, I never felt bullied or rushed. Loved everything about Tattoo Alley! I have had a tattoo and piercings done at this location. Its been almost 2 years since I got my piercings and I've had no problem with them. The tattoo I got took a few hours and I was completely relaxed throughout the whole thing. The owner, Peter is easy to contact, very helpful and also the person who pierced me. He made me feel very comfortable and helped me throughout the piercing process (I was very nervous!). Overall Tattoo Alley was a great experience. Prices are reasonable. The shop is VERY clean. There is a wide range of jewelry to choose from for all types of piercings. The music is always at a decent level unlike other tattoo shops that I have been to. Artists here are EXTREMELY TALENTED! I'm not one to write reviews but considering this was the best experience I've had, I had too. I found this shop on google and they have a 4.9 star rating and honestly they deserve it. I went to get my septum pierced and the guy (I think it's Peter, not too sure) was super confident and he looked like he knew what he was doing so I automatically felt comfortable. Before he pierced me he took a while making some measurements I guess and he ended up putting the piercing higher than I expected him too but he said it's cus I have a small face so it needed to fit my face size. And honestly I love it and I'm so happy he put it higher and it doesn't hang too much. 10/10 would recommend you going there. Everyone is really sweet and experienced. This place is amazing, I came in to get a coverup tattoo. I had 4 black tribal tattoos that needed covering. Peter had no problem assigning me an artist. That same weekend, my artist set up my tattoo. At first I wasn't sure what I wanted, but my artist helped me out. I knew I wanted something Japanese so he thought of a dragon with some flowers at the bottom of it. I loved the idea as soon as he said it and I went with it. pricing was great to because he charged me by the hour. He let me choose how many hours I was comfortable with. That way I would not have to strain myself or be to exhausted. This place is the absolute best of pace to get a tattoo. Went in for my first time and completely calmed me down. He informed me on everything that was gonna happen & answered all my questions & made sure I was comfortable through the entire time. They were really kind people and kept everything sanitized. They were super accommodating as well & made sure I liked my piece of art before applying ink. I also met the owner and he's a super nice easy going guy! Not many owners care about after care but he made sure I was okay during my healing process. I definitely recommend this shop to anyway who's wants a tattoo. My VERY apprehensive 8 year old finally agreed to get her ears pierced - along with two of her friends including a 6 year old. I know from bad piercing experiences that a good tattoo/piercing parlor is the cleanest safest place to get them done. Everything was clean and professional and he had a great selection of starter earrings. Peter talked very matter of factly and calmly with the girls; really making them feel at ease. my daughter who screams bloody murder at the sight of a needle kept it cool and sat thru both piercings. I went today to finally get my earring put in now that my helix piercing has fully healed. I came exactly a year ago with my best friend to get pierced. I got a helix piercing and I love it! The guy who did it was so nice, I think he was the owner. He helped us relax, since we were nervous and our experience turned out great. Very clean, he used a fresh pair of gloves for each of us and a fresh needle as well, very sterile. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get a piercing or tattoo. I got my nose pierced twice here and brought my friend with me for her to get her nose pierced as well. Service is wonderful! The parlor is incredibly clean and the piercing itself was done quickly and cleanly as well. Peter is very patient and kind and took the time to measure my nose and the length of the stud as well. I had no infection or bleeding after each time he pierced my nose. Taking care of my nose with just soap and water is very easy! If I decide to ever get an industrial ear piercing I would definitely go back to this parlor to get that done! Highly recommend this place!!! read more

Just went back for my third tattoo from Tattoo Alley and was not disappointed - Nelson was amazing. They are very professional, clean, courteous if a wee bit expensive - but to me it's worth it because of their attention to detail! They listen to what you want and give you their creative advice to make the experience even better. I'm already trying to figure out what my next one will be - I've got an orchid with my Mom's signature; Janis Joplin's wrist tattoo and this last one is a very delicate heart design with paw prints. I have been wanting to get a nose piercing for the longest time, was a bit nervous. I reached out to Peter and he was the nicest guy and reassured me that it would take only 3 seconds and would only pinch. He was right!! It did not hurt at all and it only took 3 seconds!! Great follow up as well. I did not expect him to reach out to see how it was doing. Not only on the day I got it but some days after to make sure it was ok. I came to this tattoo shop for a cover up and was very happy with the outcome . You can't see what was under very good job and the owner was very nice also and a hottie . The prices are very fair and worth it for the results you get . I actually made the mistake of cheating on them cause I got a free tattoo somewhere else and didn't let the guy finish and I had to come back to tattoo alley to get it fixed and I didn't even see how he was going to fix it , he just told me to trust him and I did and it's one of my favorite Tats now. read more
