If you state that a piercing is $50 then It should still be $50 when I get there. Not turn into $80 ( + tax ) for some stupid jewelry that isnt even real. 2. Why are you giving customers big ass dangling jewelry as a starter piercing? at no point did you professionally reccomend a smaller jewelry option like you were supposed to for someone getting their belly pierced for the FIRST TIME. WHY are you allowing me to get a dangling charm piece of JEWELRY in which you know would cause an infection? Any PIERCER that actually cared about clientele or wanting customers to come back would have been Informative and gave a warning for my safety. 3. Why are you talking shit about clients once they leave? I'm pretty sure me making a second visit here for you to "make things right" as you stated over the phone, Javier, due to yall fucking up the first time, did not need to be shared with the next client that was next. And i heard you talking about me upon leaving. Conclusion: If you see a guy with a fucked up turtle on his neck? RUN. If you even come across this place of "business" in general? RUN. My friend and I went to get piercings and the guys were nice and the place looked promising. We thought all was good until they didn't clean our ears beforehand, had bad piercing technique, and put my friend's piercing in a crooked placement. We've never had blood gush out our ears and we have multiple piercings. They have a good rating on Google, but I highly recommend you don't come here. read more

Well...that happened. I'm just going to say don't go after a certain hour. We dealt with two gentleman. Both very amiable but the actual tattoo artist attempted to draw a design freehand on my boy's thumb and after 20 minutes forgot he had even drawn it. This was after he had already tattooed a disastrous two lines on my guy's other thumb. Needless to say we left before he could even finish. Just let the pic speak for itself. So there was a young lady that came in asking to correct a tattoo she had JUST gotten up the block from Steinway... she had got crooked heart on her toe I felt so bad for her, its her first piece she paid $60 up the block and the guy made a bad heart, Chris asked if I minded him fixing the tattoo, as her's was small and mine was going to take a while. I was happy to help, it sucked that that was her first tattoo experience. The artist up the block should be ashamed of themselves... Anyway on to a better experience... CHRIS is AWESOME!!!! So I got a recommendation from my uncle who's been getting tattoos from Chris for 10 years, I don't have a regular artist and haven't been tattooed in years, Chris was super cool, has a great hand and holds a great conversation. The shop is located on top floor of a barber shop so it's easy to miss if you go looking for a separate entrance, once you go in the barbers will direct you if the owner is upstairs with a client. The shop is small but very clean and welcoming. This definitely will not be my last time at Steinway Tattoos. I'm very happy with my experience and tattoo. read more

I accidentally ripped my nose ring out while washing my face at night, and the ring went down the drain. I panicked because I've only had the nose piercing for a couple months, and they close up quickly. I called Steinway Tattoo 10 minutes before closing time and told them what happened. They said the gate was already half way down, but to come and they would wait for me THANK GOD! When I got there, it was clear they were closed down for the night. I didn't catch his name, but one of the guys took me upstairs to look at the nose rings. When I said I was nervous to put it in, he offered to do it for me. I went in this place twice. I guess I didn't learn my lesson the first time last year. I thought that my body was rejecting the piercings, but then the jewelry started turning green and everything was SO swollen. I went back a couple of weeks ago to pierce my rook. They didn't make me sign a waiver nor a consent form or ANYTHING. The guy who pierced me, which you COULD TELL was high af, suggested to put a hoop with diamond looking stuff, which was swollen from the first moment. I couldn't sleep for a week for how painful it was, didn't matter how much i took care of it. They also lied about the price. Before we started they told me it would have costed 40$, turned out to be 76$. I had to o to an other place to get it changed and disinfected. What the heck? read more

This is about piercings. I went there with my cousin about 3 months ago. She got the industrial bar and I wanted a triple forward helix. The guy said he couldn't do it on my ear...I figured not all ears have the space or whatever. He suggested this jewel with 3 stones so I thought it looked cute I agreed. He placed it way too high up I told him and he said no can't do. I wasn't happy at all but I gave it a chance to heal. Im thinking of going to another shop to change the jewel because this one looks stupid so high up. My friend just got her tongue pierced on Monday 10/25/2021 by Javier Perez she had a previous tongue piercing where you could see the previous piercing and he pierced it right next to it and had pierced it in the opposite direction that he was supposed to do it in and caused nerve damage to the front of her tongue. When he was confronted by my friend he said he would pierce it again after the fact of knowing she has nerve damage, proceeded to put another client in front of her and told her to come back and talk later proceeded to be disrespectful and wouldn't let her talk. She said in all her years of being pierced she has never experienced this at all I would not recommend to go to Javier Perez. She now has to deal with permanent nerve damage. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I called a week before asking if I needed an appointment for a tattoo, he said for Sunday to just call in the morning to confirm. We called Sunday and they had to told us the the artist's mom had died, and we understood and asked when they would be available. They told us to come in Monday at 8:00, but call 20 minutes before to confirm. Monday at 7:30 we called saying we were on our way but I called from my friends number and they said the tattoo artist's mom just died that same Monday morning...how could you use the same excuse that you used Sunday to reschedule us Monday saying their mother had just died...didn't you tell us she died Sunday morning when we called on Sunday????? read more

Javier did my nose piercing and made the process seamless! I was really scared but he was very patient and my nose ring looks beautiful.

I knew I should've just gone with my gut and went to a different place that was nearby. I wanted to have my nipple re-pierced as the hole was closing. I called and they referred me to Javier before rudely hanging up. I decided to go anyway as I didn't want to wait for the hole to fully close. Javier was kind, however his strategy was just WAY off. You could clearly see the holes from the previous piercing, he reassured me he saw where they were and yet he still ended up piercing right BELOW the hole. If I hadn't looked down and noticed I would've left with a crooked ring and I mean I already left with an extra hole I didn't ask for so what's next? He then proceeds to do what I actually wanted and re-pierce it AGAIN. He didn't even have the decency to give me a discount, I mean it's my first time coming to you, and you messed up yet you're still charging me the full price? Mind you I also brought IN the jewelry myself so I really don't get what the point of still charging me that much was. Not just that, but I didn't have cash on me so I had to go outside and take out money from the ATM as I only had my card and I noticed him looking at me from inside the store the entire time, making believe he was busy when he really just wanted to make sure I wouldn't run off. It was extremely awkward. Needless to say I will not be returning or referring anyone here. I'm sure he's skilled at what he does, but if you're considering going to re pierce anything save yourself a trip and $$$ and do not go there. Waste of my time and money. read more

Let me begin with the most important part: Ask for Justin Klein. He gave me my first tattoo last night and I love it. He made sure I was comfortable the whole time. He listened to what I wanted. And he made sure everything was perfect. What else would you even look for when getting a tattoo? Some advice: Let Justin have some freedom to do what he thinks will work out best. He has a very unique style and I'm proud to have this art on my arm. Wish I looked up my options before I came here, but it was my fault for being impulsive and coming here. I got my nostril pierced by Javier. First off, didn't wipe the area with alcohol before he pierced me. Not sanitary, makes me wonder what else wasn't sanitized properly. Secondly, I asked for a hoop, which now after doing research, a good piercer would have recommended a stud, as it heals better with studs. I would have gone by that recommendation if it was offered to me. I now have the piercing in for 1 month, and it has a huge irritation bump, despite my cleaning it 2-3x a day with saline and is only growing larger. I don't even know what the material of the hoop is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the cheapest material there is and that's why my piercing is so irritated. Ive tried to call to ask and no one picks up the phone. Ive now made and apt to a reputable place in the city to have this looked at because I don't trust going here one bit. Please don't come here for a piercing. Take your time and do your research and go to a legitimate business. read more

I went here like 2 ears ago for an infected piercing I got elsewhere on Long Island NOT here. I have a tendency to keloid so I was expecting another scar, even if the piercing was removed. Javier was amazing! Not only did he remove the piercing with as little pain as possible but he also gave me a salt-based solution that worked wonders and there's absolutely no keloid there -- almost like it never happened. The Brazilian Dude here is the worst tattoo artist I have seen. First of all, he's a dick with no manners and even though it's YOUR money and YOUR body, he doesn't let you choose HOW you want the tattoo or where do you want it. He gets all pissy. Secondly; he did not even let me speak with my cousin whom I was trying to calm down. Third of all, he doesn't let us take pictures which was sketchy. Lastly after the ending results, no advice in how to take care of it and he only put a bounty over it no tape no nothing. What a cheap bastard. I came here without an appointment to get both my earlobes pierced. Overall it was a great experience! Chris pierced me and was a chill, friendly guy to talk to. He answered all of my questions and marked the spot he would pierce and showed it to me. The piercings were relatively painless and quick. It was $15 for each piercing. Each piercing comes with a silver/gold stud, but I wanted a black loop -- each piece of jewelry was $10 extra, which I was fine with since the piercing itself was inexpensive. I also bought cleaning solution, so it cost $60 total which was not bad at all! My only complaint is that the storefront wasn't super clear -- you have to go through the barber (and up the stairs) to get to the tattoo/piercing place. I'd highly recommend! read more

I took my 8 year old daughter to get her ears pierced on the recommendation from a friend who took her daughter there, and Chris was so great with her. She was very nervous and he made her feel calm and just made the whole experience great (including looking at all of the reptiles!) Do. Not. Go. To. This. PLACE! I went in to get my nose ring changed, I was wearing the L shaped ring when I came in and wanted to switch to a cork screw ring. Long story short, I left this place with a NEW nose piercing (I now have two holes in my nose) AND a bloody lip due to the needle going through my nose and also piercing my lip. To top off this disaster, the initial price of $20 that I was quoted, turned out to be $50. When I brought up the price increase the guy offered me a "deal" at $40 which was also still $20 more than the original price quote. Chris asked my boyfriend whether he preferred a gun or a needle, and then pierced him quickly, safely and professionally. Price was $30 total. I needed some fixes on a tattoo I had gotten a couple years ago - Chris worked with me wonderfully, asking my opinion and very open to my feedback, giving me multiple options, and then did a quick, clean job adding the few extra elements I had asked for. It's July 3rd and I made the mistake of trying to switch my nose ring too early and thankfully this parlor was open!! I gave them a call and the guy on the phone told me to stop by. As soon as I went there I saw a guy standing in front of the tattoo parlor and told him what was going on. His name is Victor - he's awesome! When you walk in its like you're walking in to a barbershop. His tattoo/piercing thing is upstairs so he took us up there and then quickly changed my nose ring! There was minimal pain! I had my eyes closed and asked him "wait that's it?" haha. He definitely knows what he's doing. He only charged me five dollars which was so cheap. This place was really shady. I went up into the room above the barber shop and there was no one there and it looked more like someone's attic than a tattoo or piercing parlor, it was dirty and there was junk everywhere. The guy who runs it wasn't there so i asked the barber where he was and no one knew so they said to come back in an hour. I came back and he was there and i told him the type of piercing i wanted and he said it was $250. New York Adorned is probably the best piercing parlor in NYC and i've never had a piercing cost that much there. I ended up leaving and going to sacred tattoo where i got the same piercing for $80. Sacred tattoo was much cleaner and more legitimate and i haven't had any issues with my piercing. I have no idea what I would have been paying $250 for. read more

Went here to get a small tattoo, knew exactly what I wanted - just needed to decide between two spots on my body. The guy downstairs was very nice and told us we could get a few stencils to be sure it was exactly what we wanted. The artist however was a jerk and refused to put two stencils on me. He preached how putting the stencils on me is ruining his creative process and that I should know exactly what I want before coming in. I did know exactly what I wanted - just wanted to see it with the stencil before I commuted to life long ink. Shouldn't be an issue. I didn't ask for more than 2 stencils. But he was such a jerk about it - I walked out and won't come back nor will I refer anyone to this place! read more

Seriously how has this parlour not been closed down? I mistakenly paid this place a visit to get a small wrist tattoo. Thinking it wouldn't be a big deal because of how small and simple the tattoo was I stayed even though the station itself was disgusting and dingy. Why I didn't leave, I guess the excitement of a new tattoo took hold. I wish I would have listened to the tiny voice in my head telling me to run because before I knew it 20 mins later he was done and I had what I guess was supposed to be what resembled a peace sign, a happy face, and a heart on my wrist.
