All staff members throughout my time there (both days) were INCREDIBLY helpful and informative, as I had a lot of niche questions with getting my cartilage pierced and working as an EMT! I came in early (30 minutes) to my appointment to discuss questions and worked with Rennie (instagram: @rennieandsharp) and she was THE ABSOLUTE BEST EVER‼ Not only did she easily answer any questions I had about anatomy, healing, and future piercing options, but she also helped me pick out the perfect jewelry and did not rush me when seeing which options worked best for my lifestyle! I didn't feel pressure to choose jewelry she initially recommended even though I originally wanted something different, but I ended up going with what she recommended anyways because girl is an expert at her craft! Renee and another piercer even helped me evaluate my anatomy for a navel piercing after 3 larposcopies and while the answer was that "it wouldn't be advisable", I was not let down at all, because both Renee and this other employee made sure that it was with the intention of putting my health first, which can be hard because many piercing shops will do whatever piercing just for it to reject, having you in and out, this place genuinely cares about your health and the longevity of your piercings! Moreover, the thing that blew me away was that half way through my appointment I found out Rennie WAS AN APPRENTICE?! (Not a bad thing) I was genuinely so shocked to find out she hadn't been in the business for years because she was so helpful. I fully trusted her to do my piercings and she did an amazing job, I got my double conch done with smaller pieces of jewelry and even though she said my ear might swell, and it could be risky having them done so close, she trusted my judgement as well and gave me all the information I needed to make sure nothing bad happened!!! she did such a good job that they haven't swelled at all yet, even the same day, and it's been a week! The process was also completely painless for me, she was so patient and kind, making sure I was comfortable which made my experience worth everything and 100% easier! She also mapped my ears out for future piercings just for fun! While I am moving away from VB in may, I ultimately see myself road-tripping just to have Renee as my piercer, she truly has an amazing career ahead of her and the treatment at this location is unmatched. Not to mention the brand of jewelry that they carry is incredibly reputable and well known, ALL HAD FLATBACKS (hard to find at some piercing shops usually only a few pieces), doesn't feel cheap or tacky, and is incredible quality for the price! PRICE BREAKDOWN: You cannot beat the prices of I'm Just Saiyan, as it is a $25 service fee that includes pretty much any piercings you get at that appointment (with obvious exclusions of genitalia etc.) For two freckled flat back studs each was about $30 I believe, so not bad at all, making my total price $85 but I tipped 20% so it was about $100 total for both, super worth it and again, you can't beat the quality here, I would recommend this location over every other place in the 757!

I got a fast response from my email and was treated kindly at every interaction. I got a side labret piercing, and I'm a good bit older than most of their clientele, so I called to make an appointment (I live far away) and to request Kimberly be my piercer, since she's the master piercer and 20-year-old skin is not the same as 50-year-old skin. I was REALLY nervous at my piercing appt, so I forgot all the questions I wanted to ask. But at my 8 weeks post-piercing, I went back to the shop to get a shorter post put in, and Laycie helped me, and she was the absolute sweetest. If you've been pierced there, they'll put in your jewelry for free, so I only had to pay 20 bucks for the new, shorter post. Despite the fact that this was not exactly a big money-making appointment for Laycie, she patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions that I had forgotten to ask before. King has an assistant who handles his booking, but it was pretty straightforward. $100 deposit that goes towards your total, $150 per hour, 2-hour minimum. It's been a while since I've had an ink session but was pretty sure I would only need 2 hours for what I was getting. Once deposit was paid, I received a booking text that confirmed my time. The artist had something come up during my originally scheduled time, but gladly checked the schedule to get me in while I was still in town. There are two sections upstairs, and myself and two others were getting tattooed in one area at the same time- but it wasn't crowded and we weren't on top of each other. They guys had a good vibe and energy between them and the air was light and filled with stories and laughter. I would think this would relax a nervous person, to see the artists comfortable in their spaces and happy to work. I had a small touch up on one tat and two new ones, which spanned the full 2 hours. He initially sketched out the tattoo based on my photos, but once I saw them in print and didn't like the font, he let me go through the database to find one that I did like. The tattoo behind my ear went quick and was quite painless. The one on my forearm went well too. King has a good hand and great line work. I generally go to the same artist when I like them, and if I ever get another tattoo while in Norfolk, I would book with King again.

I highly recommend this place for piercings. Now, they do not let you take pictures of the process, which is fine with me, because I'm not 21 anymore (haha!), but some people may not like that. They do have a tip jar OR you can now tip on your card at the end (they also have an atm in there). My friend and I really enjoyed our time here, and the piercings were done quickly. However, there are some things I didn't enjoy of my first experience at Ocean Mystique's. First off, after signing all the paperwork and paying for the tattoo, the woman at the front with the pink hair mentioned Monday's and Tuesday's weren't so busy and told me it'll be about a 30-40 minute wait. Fine, no big deal. That 30-40 minute wait turned out to be almost an hour. Then the pricing. $200 for just line work and not even one hour's work is pretty steep. My tattoo design was just line work, no coloring, no shading and they charged me two bills. I will give props to the artist though, the man's a professional. Tattoo came out great and I really like it. Though I don't see myself coming back for more.
