I went to TMoms a few weekends ago for the first time. It was a Friday night when we grabbed a bite to eat and checked out a show there. I went with a vegan chicken sandwich and some tater tots. I thought it was good pub fare. I thought it was cute that, when the bill came out, it was accompanied with a bowl of dum-dum lollipops for dessert. The look of the place upstairs is really cool. I recently attended an outdoor festival on South Street and one of my buddies suggested we grab a drink at Tattoed Mom. Upon entering the place, I immediately felt like I was in the East Village in New York City. The decor of the place is decidedly East Village, with stickers and other interesting visuals covering virtually every free space on the walls, chairs, and even the pool table. Another cool feature were the old amusement park ride cars that served as seating. My friends and I hung out upstairs, where the crowd and the busy servers were busy bandying about as the delicious libations were pouring. The Pickletini and Cosmo Cloud were spectacular! Could easily be a 4.5+ star establishment however the bartenders here kind of suck I went with the group and my bf ordered a lemon drop martini and the bartender handed back a vodka shot top with a lemon then explain that they don't do lemon drop martinis here and the only two in a shot form After a couple rounds, another friend went to the bar and asked the second bartender for a lemon martini and he proceeded to make what was pictured however it tasted terrible. Not sure how you can get vodka, lemon juice, triple sec, and simple syrup wrong but he did. read more

Two big booms for tattooed mom. This place is so freaking cool. We stumbled into this amazing dive bar with no expectations and were blown away. The bouncer? Coolest vibes ever. Already off to a great start. The main floor was just your average vibes but it was decently busy so we decided to go upstairs and that's where the real magic is. The ambiance is amazing. It's not just a bar, but a place to enjoy time with community in a bar-like vibe alongside of tons of sticker and graffiti and crochet art all over the walls. This was our second time heading out to this bar, and I'm glad we did. We had been trying to find a bar to sit down and talk on a late night out. We tried Woody's and U Bar. Yea, not happened. Both places were so jam packed with people that we couldn't find space to stand upright, much less have a conversation. I looked at my date, and said, "Babe, let's just go to Tatooed Mom", and he agreed. We got there, and there was a sign saying that it was a Butch and Femme ladies mixer. We're two guys. Eek. We went in anyway, just in case the mixer wasn't the whole entire bar (it was not). The top floor had the mixer itself, complete with loud blasting music, and a pumping, fun atmosphere that you expect from a night out at Tattooed Mom's top floor. Tons of people, lots of energy, and very loud music. We immediately headed back down, and got ourselves a table. We were kind of apologetic to the waitress, because we weren't here for the butch and femme mixer, and she let us know that it wasn't a private event, and we weren't bothering anyone, so just relax and enjoy. So we did! We ordered some drinks, got a few snacks, and had a lovely time with each other, just like the last time we'd come here. The vibe on the first floor is a lot more like a restaurant than a typical bar. You have lots of little tables and chairs to sit in, and the wait staff come back and forth to make sure you have what you want. The upstairs is a lot more like a typical neighborhood bar: you grab your drinks at the bar, bring it back to your table, and someone will bring your food to the table (that you ordered at the bar). We had an absolutely lovely time. Although, next time we go, if there isn't an event, I think we'll head up to the top floor. Although I love both floors of this venue, I feel like the top floor is a lot more of a spot you go to so you can hang out with others, whereas the first floor is more of a place you go to hang out with your date. Both are perfectly lovely. The best part is that you can flip flop between the two as you wish (just make sure you pay before switching sides!), which means that in one place, you get more than one type of experience, which is really cool! read more

They lift up queer and POC communities, and serve the best food and cocktails while they do it. Fantastic all around: decor, drinks, food, bartenders, staff, vibes. My favorite kind of spot that totally owns its originality and makes anyone feel welcomed and at-home. I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, wings, and parmesan pepper tots. The tots are addicting comfort food that I absolutely recommend not skipping. I appreciate that they have great vegan options and imagine the whole menu translates really well to takeout, if that's the kind of vibe you're feeling instead. The sandwich was super filling and not overly spicy, if you're a spice hesitant person. I grabbed a cider on tap and also tried the Cosmo Cloud cocktail, served with cotton candy and an absolute treat. I don't think I could do more than one (especially since this drink comes with a shaker full of cocktail remains...so it almost drinks like two cocktails) but I highly recommend giving it a go if you're in a sweet tooth kind of mood. We asked if that was done intentionally, but were told that it was a more organic and the walls used to be beige. For this last visit we ate downstairs. The place is decorated nicely with some really cool eclectic pieces on the walls. Our server was great throughout our dinner and helped out with my wife's allergy. Drinks: Most of us went with a beer and a white claw. The draft selection is small but had a nice variety on tap. I chose the PBR since it was on the Wednesday special. They also have cocktails and a variety of bottled options. Food: The main reason for coming was that I told my grandson and his girlfriend that they have really good vegan food. We came on a Wednesday to get their smash burger special. Before getting our smash burgers we got the vegan bbq wings. They really really good and crunchy with a nice heat. 2 of our party got the vegan smash burgers and 2 got the classic. Everyone really enjoyed their burgers. Highly recommend them. Two things you can never skip out on are the pirogies and a basket of tots. They're the best food to eat while enjoying some of their wild cocktails.
