I love that you can order your drink up at the bar or order right from the QR code on your table. The prices are average and they have lots of fun seasonal drinks. It's tucked away and you'd almost miss it. The setup is really cute...plenty of seating and tea lights and greenery. They have some music playing just at conversational level so it's not disruptive but noticeable. You can order drinks and snacks from the bar or your table QR code. I ordered the Passion Punch and Chimichurri Chicken Skewers. The pinch was pre-made; I would've liked an individual serving. But it was sweet and tangy. Such a great patio bar for a friends hangout, girls night, or after work happy hour. Easily walkable if you're nearby. Met up with a few friends here on a hot weekday evening after work and it was busy but there were still plenty of open seats and tables. You can order through a QR code at your table or at the bar. We got a mix of frozen drinks and margs, and shared loaded nachos plus another cool dip for the table. Bathrooms are in a trailer out back but they're actually really clean and feel like a real bathroom. Just a really good time overall. Highly recommend for a laid back outdoor hangout. read more

The pop-up garden is really cute. Of course there are lots of flowers and plants. Lots of seating is available. Some of it's in the shade and some of it's in the sun The staff were super nice and helpful. The bartender explained the different drinks and did an excellent job with the mocktails! I was there for an AARP event. The event had a good flow away from other patrons. The food spread was in a little open shed. It was a cute little space. We had salad, chicken Caesar wraps, chicken tenders and burger sliders. The food was all good. The salad was fresh. The chicken was all meat and nicely fried. The burgers were also good. The food is average and its limited service as all the ordering is done via your phone. However, the service from order time to delivery was fast and the staff is very friendly. I am a fan of the pop up gardens. I love being outdoors and meeting friends and family here. For a moment, it feels like you're away from the city altogether. I like the quick lines for drinks (beer, some cocktails) and that food is an option. I do wish there were a few food options, however. I am plant based, so it would be nice if they could offer something especially since it's a need in the area. I would also like to see the music a little lower. There's a good assortment of draft beers, limited but yummy food options (with solid vegan and GF options), and TONS of seating, grouped into differently decorated areas. There are some TVs for sports, but they're blissfully kept muted. Great spot to meet up with friends and coworkers, since each person can order separately via QR code - no need to hash out how to split the bill. Also seems like a popular option for families with babies and toddlers, since it's really casual and there's plenty of space for strollers. The frozen Negroni was surprisingly good! Drinks are 10/10. I don't usually like frozen drinks but they are doing something right because we loved the Piña colada and Strawberry one. I will be trying all the flavors in the coming weeks. The watermelon feta salad was ok - the ingredients were right but the watermelon was not sweet. The fries though - really good! They were fresh and seasoned perfectly. Service is fast! They were busy and packed on a Saturday evening but the food and drinks came out quick. PHS went above and beyond with the decor because the space is filled with plants, lanterns and vintage mirrors. I wish I had my dog with me when I came, but I am hoping to bring her back to enjoy this space as well - super dog friendly with water and the like for your pooch to enjoy. I tried the woodermelon cocktail and it was delightful. If you're with a group, go with a pitcher for the savings and also the cuteness. They have decent N/A selection (Athletic Brew, a cocktail, and sodas), robust can list, and one or two decent wines if that's the kind of mood you're in. I recommend going for the cocktail and if you're feeling especially breezy, opting for a sweet frozen concoction and pretending you're somewhere tropical...not South Street. PHS is a grean oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle. It may be unassumign from the outside, but once you step into the garden, you are transported outside of the city. The Pop Up garden has plenty of seating, including smaller tables, bigger communal tables, and even a few more secluded areas under cabanas. Most of the seating is under cover away from the sun, and everywhere is surrounded in gorgeous green and colorful plants and flowers. Additionally, there are a few TVs playing sports games for people to watch. I did not have any food while here, but it looked good as it came out of the kitchen. I had the cucumber cooler drink, and enjoyed it! It's definitely a place I will come back to when looking for an outdoor area to drink. read more

I have lived a few short blocks from PHS Pop Up Garden for over a year. My first visit was this Thursday (the day before the city lifted the final pandemic restrictions!!!!!), and this was not for a lack of trying. Many Saturday afternoons, I have tried to check this place out to find a very long line wrapped around the block. They don't do reservations and I'm not one to wait in a long line for something I'm uncertain of, so I have always ventured elsewhere instead. My Thursday evening at PHS Pop Up Garden was lovely! We checked in at the door, and there was no wait. Our IDs were checked by the door person and then we were escorted to a table under the covered area in the middle. I noticed a ton of unique, beautiful seating areas around the outer edges of the space and would love to find out how to get one of those seating arrangements for the future. The table had a few different barcodes to scan, and one of them brought you to a website that enabled online ordering to the table. As a group of four people looking to pay separately, this was a great feature. We were all able to order on our own phones and pay our own way without having to do any additional math! Always a win. I tried the Woodermelon cocktail and continued to drink that for the rest of the evening. I will note that the cocktail was not well mixed, it tasted predominantly like ginger beer at the top and then watermelon mix at the bottom. I did not realize this until I got to the second half of my first drink that it would taste better if I mixed it up. They did not provide straws (likely for environmental reasons because this is the PHS afterall) so I had to get creative with stirring. To eat, I had the roast pork sandwich without the peppers. One of my fatal flaws is that I cannot handle spicy foods, but I digress. The sandwich was really delicious! I opted for the fries (because duh) and they were amazing. Perfectly crispy on the outside. I decided to go with the garlic aioli as my sauce and it was great. My only critique is technically the extension of a friend's. She ordered the hot dog, because who doesn't like a good hot dog? When it arrived we were all very surprised by the bread that the hot dog was served on. When my sandwich came it appeared that we had the same breads. A hot dog needs a good bun, not an oversized roll of bread. She ended up picking apart the bread so that her dog to bread ratio was closer. I'm not sure if they typically have normal buns or if they always opt for a fancier hot dog experience... but I'd avoid it. it is not the typical sit down and server experience, so you don't exactly get the chance to ask questions. If you're looking for a beautiful, pet friendly outdoor space with a fun cocktail menu and decent food options, PHS Pop Up Garden is worth a visit! read more

Super fun place to stop in for a drink and some quick bites! We went with a large group for a friend's birthday and sat at a large table in a covered area since it was rainy. Super fun and cool vibes with tvs to watch whatever Philly sports game is on! You scan a QR code and order online and everything is delivered right to your seat. You could walk by the entrance and miss it if you are not looking for it. The space is cute for a date or just to hang out. It is nice you can order food and drinks from your table through the website or just go to the bar. We got the garden spritz and a kolsch beer. The drinks are reasonably priced. The cocktails seem average for me each time I come here. So I am not really a fan. But the beer is they way to go. I didn't order any food this time but have previously in the summer. It's a good option to have when you sitting around. It was nice they had the heating lamps on as it got cooler. I am told they will close after Halloween and reopen back in April. Overall I like this place. The temporary bathroom are definitely on the nicer side which is a plus. read more

Philadelphia is known to be the least dog friendliest city, which surprised me that a lot of the local breweries were not dog friendly. But luckily I was able to find this pop up garden. PHS Pop Up Garden is only available during the summer for their brewery. Have a handful of great beers on tap to choose from, some tasty menu items that include frito pie, buffalo ranch popcorn, featured irish whiskey and rose. Please note that there are also cocktails and non alcoholic beverages available as well for purchase (for those under age and/ or not drinking). My husband and I came here with our little girl dog on a Thursday early evening, a little before 5:30 pm. We had our IDs checked and then sat at a table and just enjoyed ourselves. My husband ended up getting beer, Founders IPA, $6.50, which he liked. I opted to go sans alcohol this evening since we had alcohol earlier in the day. Music was playing, the weather cooled down and had a light breeze. Friendly people stopped by our table to pet my dog (she just loves attention) and stayed here for about an hour. I wonder if there is something like this back at home where I live. Please note that most of the garden is covered in case it rains, in which it did sprinkle a little bit during our visit. There is also porta potties, but the nice ones that you would rent for an event. The ladies restroom had hand soap, hand dryers, paper towels and was clean upon my visit. This pop up garden is definitely a great place to relax this summer, especially with your pup, grab a beer and meet up with a few friends. read more

PHS pop up on South is so so fun for spring and summertime. Absolutely ideal setup for happy hour, or sneaking off of work early, or just a fun cocktail hour with friends. Pick a day above 70 degrees and enjoy! It's really beautiful inside, especially in spring/early summer. In 2022 they had an ordering system through an app, which I don't love because I don't like being on my phone when I'm out. Unsure if this system is in place for 2023. The drinks are fun, nothing special, but the strength of this place is in the flower-powered decor. It's very instagrammable, and the vibes are great. Not crowded at all, but a very jovial atmosphere. Limited food is also available but isn't really the point--go and grab a quick cocktail on a warm summer day and enjoy the flowers!
