Came to try the bottomless brunch, but was met with bottomless stares from the manager to "enforce" the bottomless mimosas just because 2/5 people in our group wanted the brunch package. Didn't get her name, but her hair was pink. We noticed her only staring at our table as well. manager "apologized" but was short, and walked away before any feedback. fortunately the chicken and waffles were tasty but the chicken were not traditional fried, more like patties would not return

This place was great. Really cool divey vibes but an elevated menu. Great vegan options, especially at brunch! I'm not vegan so I opted for the Bubba Benedict. It was huge so I only ate about half of it, but it was really quite tasty. I asked for iced coffee but they didn't have any so I got hot coffee instead. I didn't care for the coffee so I ended up switching to Diet Coke and they didn't charge me , which was great. I'll definitely be back!

Came here with about 8 friends on a Friday afternoon. They were able to accommodate but not sure if I'd pick this place for a big group again. It wasn't the comfiest spot but was still pretty good. The lighting is a bit dim so definitely a place to go if you want a more intimate setting. Maybe a good date spot! The food was okay. But I'm also pretty picky when it comes to fried chicken so that may be why. I had the chicken and waffles and even though the crisp was delish, the seasoning wasn't really there for me. My friends also thought there food was okay at best. I didn't have any bourbon but I'm assuming that's probably what they are known for. Service was quick and didn't have any issues there. I'd recommend this place for maybe a date or some one on one time with a friend, to have drinks and light appetizers but don't know if I'd ever come back for actual dinner again. Either way great little spot!

Met my daughters at Bourbon & Branch for brunch before heading up to Boston. Suggested because it was right across from Penn St which worked out well. I feel like this area is always under construction tho lol. Party of 3 and we were sat upstairs at one of the high tops. Lovely view of MSG and construction lol. Had a DJ playing which is always a vibe. Greeted by our server in a timely manner. I will say our server was incredible throughout the entire time. Too bad I forgot her name... My oldest daughter has been here before and knew exactly what she wanted to drink. The Espresso Martini was well made and she says it's one of the best she's had. I did the bottomless and grabbed a Mimosa. Wanted to start light, was gonna be a long day. We started with the Caprese Flatbread for the table. Flavorful but a little too much cheese for my liking. For entrees, Churro French Toast, which was the table favorite. Avocado Toast, nice size portion and egg cooked perfectly according to my other daughter. I opted for the French Style omelette, which was stuffed and cooked nicely. The potatoes were a little bland tho. I also grabbed a Bloody Mary spicy and it didn't disappoint. The Chocolate Mousse Cake for desert capped the brunch. Tasty, but very sweet. Overall, nice place with cool decor. The food was tasty and drinks some better than others. I'd go back if there's a chance and the Field Goal is good!!!

I have been back several times since my last review and wanted to update because I like the expanded vegan options and the food and service have improved! I have been keeping an eye on this space and I enjoy the vibe when it's lunch or happy hour...I leave feeling full and positive!

    Vegan Chocolate Coconut Cake?

Vegan chocolate cake was a a tiny protein bar with no "chocolate sauce" also 5 dollars for a soda thats all syrup is nasty. :(

Opted for the bottomless brunch which is $45 per person and includes an app, entree, and bottomless mimosas, margs, or Bloody Mary's. There is a 1.5 hour limit. My waitress would check our table frequently and refill the mimosa glass as needed. The biscuits ( my app option) was delicious and reminded me of biscuits made when I was younger and I asked for some jelly due to being full of nostalgia. Bourbon and Branch has a casual vibe and setting. I learned there is a jazz night and will try to check it out.

Been here a few times now and never that impressed. The way people talk about it, I had high expectations and thought maybe they just had an off day my first go around. Went back last weekend and my burger was very dry, lacked flavor. The staff was ok, it wasn't the cleaned place I'd ever been. After multiple shots, I just can't say it's a favorite

After researching places to go that had both cheese steak and vegetarian/vegan options, Bourbon and Branch was our choice. It's in what looks to be an older part of town and parking can be troublesome, fortunately we found street parking about a block away. This was on a Tuesday evening, I can't imagine how crazy it gets on the weekend. Walking in you get that lived in feeling, kinda like a dive bar. The staff here is friendly and their bourbon selection is pretty solid. What surprised us was how good the food is here. Everything we tried was very good and we even dove into some of the vegan options and were surprised by the flavors you got. I was really bummed that they didn't have cheesesteak and had to settle for the burger. One friend got the chicken cheese steak and another got the salmon and they both really enjoyed them. If you are in the area and can find parking, I would suggest stopping in here. I would 100% come back here again if/when I am back in the area.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a last minute brunch option. We sat at one of the outdoor patio tables, as that's all they could accommodate that morning. There was a drag show happening upstairs so it's safe to say the downstairs patrons were not the priority for the staff. It took well over 20mins for us to receive WATER, over 40mins for DRINKS and well over 1.5hours for our FOOD...just for quality to be subpar and inaccurate. There was little to no communication about what was going on in the kitchen. We had to ask to speak to the manger and SUGGEST there be some type of accommodation for our wait. I would not return here for any reason. 2 stars because it's in a great location!

Little neighborhood place with a NOLA vibe. The service was great. Our waitress was also the bartender. The cocktails were on point. The espresso martini was delicious and refreshing. The strawberry jalapeño marg had just the right amount of spice and was very tasty. The food was good, not great. The bourbon burger were smashed patties with an onion ring with bourbon sauce. The fried shrimp platter had a good portion of jumbo fried shrimp. They were fried well and probably the best dish of all of them. The fish tacos were cod with some slaw. The plate came out with some type of liquid on it and they were so salty, I couldn't even eat them. The waitress was great and took them off the bill without us asking. We had a sluce of chocolate cake to finish. That was good, most likely not made in house. I don't think I'll be rushing back for food, which is sad because they have a brunch on Saturday and Sunday and a jazz night.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Customer service was great. I sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely friendly. I went during happy hour and they have a great happy hour menu. The margarita was delicious and so were the fries and burger.

    Buffalo Chicken Pan

I really like buffalo chicken pizza, and this is probably top 3. The toppings were on a nice, crusty yet airy crust. It was messy but in a good way, with just the right amount of cheese and toppings. The chicken was crispy, and the blue cheese curds were a great addition. The burnt cheese on the edges gave it an extra crunch, and the personal pan size was perfect. The restaurant has an old saloon vibe. It took a while for a server to come to our table--around 10-15 minutes--even though it wasn't busy. The server was nice but wasn't very attentive. We also had to wait a bit for the check.

Huge bar, giant wall of liquor bottles, dim lighting, and a cool old-school vibe. I told the bartender that ordering a beer in a place like this felt like I was insulting him. He laughed and told me not to worry about it. The drink special was called "Naked and Famous," which honestly sounded like the perfect cocktail to order in honor of Jen. But then I spotted a dark beer on the menu that sounded too good to pass up. If you follow me, you know I'm slowly becoming a dark beer guy. I liked it a lot. The sandwich special was a cheesesteak. Sorry, I should've taken a picture of the menu. But I really enjoyed it, and for $18 it came with a mountain of seasoned fries, which feels like a bargain these days. Bomb Shell: the two people working absolutely crushed it. I don't know if they were understaffed or if Monday night got busier than expected, but they were working their tails off the entire time. Even with that, they stayed polite, friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating to the guy carrying around a mannequin. Great visit to Sassafras!

With the help of Yelp, we found this place. First off, the building that houses National Mechanics is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and for good reason. The pub/restaurant occupies the old Mechanics National Bank, a majestic Greek Revival building, built in 1836. Inside the restaurant, the surroundings contrasted greatly with the outside. The large, primarily wooden interior has the feel of a vintage pub. It is equally as beautiful as the front. The service at National Mechanics was great. Though the staff was clearly running shorthanded, every employee we came into contact with served us with a smile and couldn't be friendlier. The food, at least on that day, was mediocre at best, unfortunately. While the menu was filled with all sorts of tempting dishes that already made us thinking of future visits, we opted for the Mexican Burger and the Ribeye Cheesesteak, two twists on old pub standbys. Sadly, we were both disappointed in our meals. We did start off on a bright spot, food-wise. My friend and I opted to share the Batter-Fried Pickled Green Beans, which were fabulous! Too bad the good food ended there... The description of the Mexican Burger sounded amazing, with avocado, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños, Monterrey Jack cheese, and chipotle mayo. My friend said it was kind of bland and it was quite greasy. My ribeye cheesesteak did not match well with its "Amoroso" roll and the steak itself was dry. In the end, we were both disappointed in our choice in a lunch spot. Perhaps it was the large crowd of diners and little staff that made it all come out a little...off. In the end, I'd try National Mechanics again if I were in the area, as the atmosphere and service made it a cool spot to dine in. Hopefully the food will be better next time.

I kind of regret ordering a pre fixed cocktail because his Omakase was so on point to what he asked for and was delicious. I love rhubarb and Gin is my usual spirt of choice, so I didn't want to pass up the Hanamachi Rikki, but while I found the tart rhubarb refreshing, it fell flat when placed next to the Omakase. While I enjoyed the music choices, he did not and it was also INCREDIBLY dark/moody which isn't our preference, but makes sense for the intimate vibe they are clearly going for.
