I did need to cancel my original appointment early the morning a day prior due to being ill with GG, and I was informed I would need to place another deposit. I agreed and specifically asked whether that additional deposit would apply toward the tattoo, and I was told that it would. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I was told it did not apply and that this had been communicated via text. After reviewing the messages, I did not see that clarification reflected. I did not argue because I respected her and complied. I also want to note that I was not made aware of any written shop policy regarding deposits in this situation. Based on the wording of the conversation, it came across that the additional deposit was for accountability due to the late cancellation, rather than that the original deposit would no longer count toward the tattoo. It's also worth mentioning that policy isn't anywhere nor was communicated to me. During the session, the artist stopped partway through because she wasn't feeling well, which I completely understand and respect. However, once the tattoo healed (it has now been over a month), I noticed visible shakiness in the linework, inconsistent line weight, and areas of blowout that were not apparent initially. I want to be clear that I genuinely love the tattoo concept itself, my concern is specifically with the execution. I paid a significant amount for the piece, and while I am not seeking a refund, as nice as that'd be, I was disappointed by the technical quality of the finished linework. Especially receiving a tattoo from this artist before and it being absoloutely amazing. So trust was broken there as well. As it healed I didn't really notice at first how poorly done it was. So later, when I reached out to book my next tattoo, I did not receive a response and noticed I was blocked from viewing the artist's stories, which made the lack of communication feel exclusionary and unprofessional. My intention in this review isn't to place blame, but to ask for acknowledgment. I value transparency, especially with permanent work. I paid quite a bit for very very poorly done healed work. It ended up being over $250+.

She is very communicative during pre-appointment, and easy to work with. Her shop is clean, peaceful, and comfortable. Hana's attention to detail is excellent, and she brought out the best from the picture of my late boy Gunner, with amazing realism. I'm so glad he will always be with me just as I remember him best. However, my boyfriend was present during the appointment and heard the conversation firsthand. The comments about me needing to lose weight were made at least 5 times, which is why they made me uncomfortable. I also found the owner's use of the term "extra flesh" in his public response to be unprofessional and reflective of the concerns raised in my original review. Never once did I mention "extra flesh" so you see they literally body shame even publicly. I stand by my experience. While my piercing healed well with the titanium jewelry I selected, the repeated comments about my body and the pressure I felt to purchase more expensive jewelry are the reasons I chose not to return. -------- I originally booked an appointment here because they operate by appointment only. However, I was surprised to learn that both appointments and deposits are cash only. In a time when most businesses accept cards, Apple Pay, and other digital payment methods, this felt unnecessarily inconvenient. During my visit, I decided to get my belly button pierced. Unfortunately, the experience left a negative impression. Throughout the appointment, the piercer an Asian lady repeatedly commented that I needed to lose weight. These remarks were unsolicited, unprofessional, and made me uncomfortable. For context, I am 5'3" and approximately 123 pounds. Regardless of anyone's size or personal fitness goals, customers should not have to listen to repeated comments about their body during a piercing appointment. I came in for a service, not for criticism about my appearance. After that experience, I decided I would not return. Another issue I had was the constant pressure to purchase more expensive jewelry. I specifically requested titanium jewelry because I had researched it beforehand and wanted an option that is commonly recommended for sensitive skin. Despite this, I felt repeatedly pushed toward more expensive alternatives and was told I would be more likely to experience problems if I chose titanium. In my case, that was not true. My piercing healed without infection, and I was happy with my choice. Six months later, once my piercing had fully healed, I wanted to upgrade my jewelry and visited Platinum Ink Tattoo & Piercing. The difference in customer service was night and day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. They answered my questions without judgment, made me feel comfortable, and provided a much more positive experience overall. I was also surprised to find that both their piercing services and jewelry were approximately half the price of what I had been quoted at Eddie's. On top of that, Platinum Ink accepts multiple forms of payment, including credit cards and Apple Pay, and they welcome walk-ins, making the entire process much more convenient. I cannot speak to the quality of the tattoo work here since I only received a piercing. However, based on my personal experience, I would choose Platinum Ink Tattoo & Piercing without hesitation. Customer service, professionalism, and making clients feel comfortable should be a priority, and unfortunately that was not my experience here.

The moment I walked in, he gave me alcohol for my hands and properly cleaned and prepped my ears with iodine, etc. He wore a mask and changed out his gloves multiple times and reminded me to not touch my ears and how to sleep haha.
