    Hair after Tatum

I came to Tatum to dye my hair (virgin black hair) to burgundy because after my extensive research and stalking, I've decided this is my girl I can trust. It's been a while since I've dyed my hair and I ended up getting a cut as well! I got to try the new curtain bang style and I ended up loving it!! The red I wanted was a very particular look and Tatum absolutely killed it. Would recommend anyone who wanna try a new color, cut, or blow out ;) I also love how comfortable and homey the salon feels overall and I've been in the salon twice now and always had a good time with Tatum P.S. I have Asian black fine hair and my hair felts very soft after color sessions as well. We didn't need bleach!

Let me tell you, Tatum is the most amazing, relaxing and welcoming stylist I have ever been too. I was nervous in the beginning cuz I've always gone to the big companies like great clips or hair masters. But Tatum made the experience relaxing and easy. She also did an amazing job on my hair, it was hydrated and shiny after. She even gave me a scalp treatment after seeing my scalp, she knew immediately what to do! I suggest scheduling a session with Tatum, she's the best.

For: Alyssa at Chromatique Salon…read more Yesterday, I had one of the most incredible and unexpected experiences. My husband and I were on our way to a wedding on Whidbey Island and had just missed the ferry we were hoping to catch. The silver lining was that it gave me a little extra time to finish my hair, which I had been hoping to do before we left home. I wanted to recreate the style I had worn for our own wedding--a middle part pulled back into a sleek, low bun. So there I was, standing outside our car in the ferry line, using the reflection in the car window as my mirror and attempting to make it happen with all the tools and supplies I had brought along. After a good 20 minutes, I finally gave up and decided I would just have to hope no one noticed the million bobby pins and elastic bands holding everything together. As a woman waiting in the car beside us walked by, I impulsively asked if she wouldn't mind telling me whether my hair looked alright--woman to woman! To my surprise, she told me she was actually a hairstylist and generously offered to take it apart and restyle it after I showed her a photo of what I was trying to achieve. I couldn't believe my luck. At that point, I probably would have accepted help from anyone, but what were the chances I happened to ask someone with 18 years of experience in the hair industry?! As she quickly and effortlessly worked on my hair, we started chatting and discovered even more coincidences: we were both named Alyssa (spelled the same way!), were the same age, and she worked at Chromatique in Gilman Village in Issaquah--a salon I've walked by hundreds of times. About 10 minutes later, my hair was pulled back into the most perfect, beautifully executed bun--honestly, even better than I had professionally done on my own wedding day! I offered to pay her or give her any of the food and drinks we had brought with us, but she politely declined and simply said she was happy to help. My hair stayed perfectly in place the entire night, and I received so many compliments. If this is the level of care and generosity Alyssa was willing to give a complete stranger, at a moment's notice and for nothing in return, I can only imagine the kind of service she provides her clients at Chromatique and the standards they have set as a salon. Life can be pretty incredible, and sometimes a completely unexpected encounter reminds you just how kind people can be. Thank you so much, Alyssa--not only for making my hair absolutely perfect for the wedding, but for reminding me how wonderful it is when a stranger goes out of their way to help someone simply because they can. I'll never forget it!

I expressed what I wanted and she listened intently and gave me a beautiful haircut. She cut my hair dry to understand the general shape, then cut it wet to make it even for when I style it. It's hard to find salons that do good curly cuts, so I'll definitely be coming back!

I found a referral from a girl to go to Randi however when I called to speak with her the receptionist just wanted to argue and not listen to a word I said. What I found EXTREMELY disrespectful was when I said "I'm worried about going to another hair dresser because the last lady always did a great job".. her reply "well if she's so great why don't you go to her" (WOW did she not listen to a word I was saying.... I said bc I just moved here from Vegas! ) She left a HORRIBLE impression. Which is sad bc I'm willing to pay top dollar for a great hair color! Such a shame oh well would have love to meet randi but too bad the receptionist was being so argumentative Ps- she said if a hair dresser takes a long time they are bad and slow Hahah NOT TRUE she never saw my hair I have thick blonde hair, and my lady puts over 300 foils in my hair.. say 30seconds a foil for that many is about 2 1/2-3hr bc I go under the heater for about 30 minutes. And I get a lot of compliments on my color...She was just ignorant.
