I've been going here for years. It was Mr Brews, but has been bought and turned into "two-twenty" or something like that. The atmosphere is all wrong. Feels like a big loud sports bar, but they're trying to make it intimate dining. It doesn't work. Service was ok. The waiter was attentive. However, my wife asked for salmon. They were out. She asked for chicken. They were out. So she got the same salad she used to get when it was the branded chain (still on the menu). I had a "power bowl." Our seats were conveniently positioned to watch the kitchen staff cut open a bag of quinoa and black beans and microwave it. Yep. That was my plate. $20 for a microwaved meal. To their credit, it did taste good, but watching that made me realize we were definitely not coming back. Used to be a great place for a beer and a burger. Now, I'll look elsewhere. It's not bad, but the high-end pricing doesn't match the atmosphere or quality. The power bowl and salad were in the cheap end of the menu. read more

Well, this place used to be good, but my husband and I went there tonight and I guess they're being bought out and being turned into another catering venue. Great restaurant with great staff. The manager working the bar during lunch has the perfect balance of service and leaving me to eat. The burger was amazing. Very tasty sauce and the bun held together pretty well considering all the sauce and onion. Would definently come back here. The lunch special was a steal and their beer selection was top notch. We where in an exburb of Madison, WI, and needed to get something to eat. We spotted Mr. Brews Taphouse. It looked interesting so..... I'm glad we did. I went for a cheeseburger (it had several options for the cheese, I wish more restaurants would do this) I went with blu cheese. My wife had a loaded chips dish. She liked it, but it was not something I would order. Decor is something I like in a restaurant. This was once a dairy processing plant, so big industrial windows and a floor that is well worn. They had 50 beer taps. So I suspect you would be able to find something you like. (I don't drink ( because of some health issues, I have nothing against drinking ( indeed I miss it))) If you are in the area, this is a good place to eat and drink. read more

In a time when it's hard to find people just to show up! Mr. Brews deserves praise, the staff did their best to serve us with limited resources and the food was good, not great, but worth it. Awesome beer selection, probably the best in a twenty mile radius, over twenty five beers on tap is an awesome selection. Cheese curds that were truly spectacular, I said it, spectacular! First time in the area and stopped on a whim for lunch. Great atmosphere,very wide open! Tall warehouse ceilings, lots of windows, high top tables as well as regular tables. Hubby had a burger-delicious, great flavor!(I snagged a bite or two) I had chicken strips which were also good. The owner was very friendly and conscious of the "new normal" safety standards. Sanitizing wall stations throughout the dining area. Wait staff was gloved and masked, clean and spacious bathroom. Would definitely recommend for a great dining experience. Would also be good for watching games, as many large TVs suspended throughout. read more

We love going to Mr.Brew's on Thursdays for trivia. The staff has always been so kind and helpful. This week Madyson was our server and she was so kind and helpful. The kitchen was busy and they worked as fast as they could. The staff was so apologetic for the wait but we didn't mind waiting at all, every table was full! The owner (I think) is also around helping serve tables and jump in where needed and I think that really says something about a boss and a business. Lots of beers on tap, semi decent food. Sat us at a table that wasn't level, to the point that when I let my side up too fast it spilled my partners drink. We were told lots of the tables are like that. How about you fix them? Had a cheeseburger, which was ok but nothing special. Fries were limp, not my bag. Cracked Peppercorn seasoning was decent. My partner had the Cajun seasoning, which she said was Italian seasoning. Staff seemed almost confused, maybe overwhelmed about what they were to be doing. Waited about 5 min to be seated, one lady called us up, passed us off to someone else who seemed confused. Had some raffles going for the football game, but we didn't participate. It's Thirsty Thursday at 8:30PM and we are the only customers here. Coming to a Taphouse, we were expecting to have a great selection of beers, which they do have. However, the first 4 beers we picked off of their menu were out. He waitress was friendly and polite. The fried pickles are okay. The kids chicken tenders were ok. The cheeseburger was ok. Don't waste money adding a fried egg - unless you prefer an over cooked, dried out, pancake of an egg. The fries were super soggy. Overall, our whole experience was just ok. Save yourself the bill and bring your own fries over from McDonalds. You'll thank me later. read more

Honestly the best burger I have had in Wisconsin! I ordered the bruschetta pesto burger. It was melt in your mouth delicious. The fries are really good as well. You can add a seasoning on your fries. I choose cheddar and my brother had the parmesan garlic. I think I would go for his next time, but still a nice addition. They have a large selection of beers to choose from as well read more

We stopped in today with some friends. My husband and I had the Kentucky Bourbon Burger. Very good and highly recommended. Our friends got wings and they mentioned it was meaty and good flavor. The beer menu is awesome and extensive. The food is pretty typical for Wisconsin taverns, the cheese curds are well above average. We've been here four times in the past three months, and every visit we've had to endure inattentive wait-staff. The first two visits we gave them the benefit of the doubt - recently opened and training staff. But these last two visits the wait-staff were just horribly indifferent to our presence. We were there yesterday, on a beautiful evening and ate outdoors. Our server shared more about her boyfriend and their life than we needed to know. She then proceeded to hang out with him and their friends between visits to the table and the kitchen, smoking cigarettes and drinking beer and having inappropriate conversations about child support. Not impressed. We have eaten there 3 times. The first two were average. After the third we won't be going back. I ordered the pulled pork and it was cold, seemed like it came from a can, was fatty and made me sick. I ate very little and still got sick, thank god I didn't eat more. Visited on a Saturday for lunch with friends. Nice open atmosphere. Cold beer. Five burgers and one boneless wings basket. Burgers were​ average bar fare. Wings outstanding. Fresh cut fries were great. Note to the cooks. Save that tiny half dollar sized slice of tomato for a salad. And when I ask for a slice of raw onion as your menu advertises, I don't want just two large outer rings of dry onion. I want a full slice. And speaking of dry, keep your pickle slices in some juice. Overall, Service was 5 star. Food 3 star. There are many places in this town to get a burger and a beer. If you're going to survive, you need to step up the food quality to what you advertise. read more

Was in Mr Brews Fort At this weekend with some of my friends. Unfortunately this mr brews is not as good as the one downtown (Madison). The fries sucked, mine were soggy kinda cold and drastically over seasoned. Chicken strips were alright but there really isn't an excuse for chicken strips to be anything other than fan-fucking-tastic every time so thats not really a win. My family and I used to come here often and always recommended it others. The last visit I was there was extremely disappointing. I arrived shortly after opening for lunch. Ordered my usual burger with the waiter that recognized me. I was the only person in the restaurant for the 35 minutes I was there. My meal came out and as I went to cut it in half, realized they gave me a chicken breast instead of a regular beef burger (I had ordered the beef). When I realized the mistake, I let them know right away. The waiter said ok and left. He returned a few minutes later and said the cook was working on a burger but for now I should eat what I have. I asked if he wanted to take it back and said no and that again I should eat what I have. I ate the pub chips (that had the wrong flavoring on them) while I waited for my burger... Ten minutes later, he brought out a plain cooked beef patty in a styrofoam container and told me that I got a two for one... I replied asking if I would not be receiving the burger I ordered to which he said I could make it myself... I pieced it a little together and ate a few bites as I had to get back to work... Then he dropped the bill off at my table. I said I should not have to pay for this as my meal was completely wrong and I barely ate it. He replied with 'sorry, we can't comp meals here.' I paid the bill and as I walked out let them know in a respectful way that they lost a lot of business. read more

if you are going to go there when a band is supposed to be there, DON'T!!! we got there about 6:45 on 9/15/18 and the band was jagging around tuning up, and they don't sart till 8. i prefer to eat in peace and quiet and not with obnoxiuous noise behind me. i see per reviews they still havent gotten the soggy fries issue adressed yet, and mine were cold also. my granddaughter got the peanut butter burger and that was nasty tasting and too spicey. we waited from 20-30 minutes for our food to arrive for a party of 6. they comp the burger and fries but ill still think twice about coming there again. our waitress that evening was very friendly and accomadating and that was the only saving grace for my visit. read more

Overall a nice option for burgers in the area. One of the very, very few places in this area that offers a vegetarian option for burgers (e.g., black bean) with no additional charge. Happened upon this place on a Sunday evening after arriving in the area for work. There were not many places open and this place had a lot of cars in the parking lot. Upon going inside we found it was busy because it was a game night for the Packers. It was busy, only a few tables left out back, which was fine with us as were just wanted dinner. The waitress did not give us the lunch menu & when we later inquired about the lunch specials after seeing a note about it on the table, we were told that they only sometimes have that menu & it was too late for us to order a lunch special. We asked how much an order of fries were & were told a price--only to find out later that what we were told was not the price. When we brought up the issue with the waitress she was incredibly rude--telling us she can't possibly know the price of everything. The manager happened to come in & asked how our lunch was--we explained the situation & her response was lackluster as well.
