Disappointing. Food lacked taste (both beef and corn). Waiter lacked personality. He appeared to be unhappy that he was there

We have been going to 59 Almshouse for many years. My brother and I and our wives really enjoy…read moreourselves when dining there, and Anthony and his crew take good care of us. We were there tonight and our server was Ashley and she really went above and beyond. She provided us with our single best experience at your restaurant. She was the icing on the cake! We will continue bringing all of our family and friends there. The only thing better than Anthony's smoking old fashion was Ashley caring service. Nice work having her on your crew! Happy new year to all of you. God bless you, Dean Niedrist. niedristd@gmail.com 267-644-6657 (Rob,Kim,Lisa)

59 Almshouse seems to be the place for large groups to get together which is both great and tough…read more Great because they accommodate large parties, and not because the restaurant can get very loud, very quickly. They have three seating options- their inside bar area, an outdoor covered area, and an inside dining room. We sat in their dining room which was nice until more guests came in and it became increasingly harder to carry a normal conversation. That aside, the staff was super nice, attentive, and great with menu suggestions. Now the food- damn (excuse the language). The portions were HUGE (the sticky rice bowl easily could have fed two people) and delicious. We ordered the tempura green beans side as an appetizer along with the bangin' shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was in a more cornmeal-like batter versus a tempura based you would have expected but good nonetheless. And you can't go wrong with tempura green beans with various dipping sauces. For entrees, the turkey reuben was crispy yet saucy, paired with coleslaw, grapes and pickles. The sticky rice bowl was packed with all your favorites and topped with crispy wonton chips (yum). Coupled with a trio of sauces, you also have eight protein options to select from. Aside from the noise level, good experience overall. Side note for new guests- the entrance is in the back, up a long ramp, NOT on the street side.

My parents have been eyeing this Irish bar for a while now, and we finally visited it!…read more Firstly, I love that they have so many Guinness flavored items. As a Guinness girlie, it made me very excited hehe. They also have a lot of fun winter cocktails! I decided to go with the Horne tini because apparently it came with an Irish potato?? Unfortunately they had run out, but I deffo need to get my hands on one of those next time. My drink was delicious, and my parents loved theirs too. Everything we ate was soooo yum. The sweet and spicy sweet potato fries were perfect, the soup was so good, and I was very happy with my Irish grilled cheese sandwich. The lamb shank was HUGE and incredible, and the meat was cooked perfectly. I would honestly visit again just for that lamb shank. The bar was popping! So many people and such nice happening vibes. Our waitress, Kayla, was seriously so incredible. She added so much to the whole experience of our night. She was extremely patient, kind, and genuinely took care of us. The restaurant is really lucky to have her!

Ordered the crispy pork roll bites and was pleasantly surprised - very good. The cheese dip side was a little solid though, kinda gross but fine. Torn between a 3 and a 4 but the staff drags me down to a 3. Still worth going to. They even changed the channel to a NASCAR race for a fellow patron which was nice.

So glad to have finally tried the reopened Wycombe Tavern! We stopped by for lunch on Sunday and…read morewere sat right away. Our server Max was attentive throughout, always making sure we were taken care of and waters full! We both had the burger and I'm not lying when I say it's one of the best burgers I've had. I normally ask for sauce or mayo but the burger was so juicy on its own it didn't need any sauce. It was cooked perfectly and all the toppings were fresh. We both opted for onion petals instead of fries which is definitely the move - make sure you get the chipotle aoli (thanks again, Max!) I washed it down with the strawberry basil bourbon smash which was wonderful. Everything was fantastic and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. So glad this spot is back up and thriving!

The Wycombe Tavern & Grille…read more We visited The Wycombe Tavern & Grille at approximately 7:45 p.m. on a Saturday. There were only two other occupied tables and a few people seated at the bar, so we were surprised by the slow service. After waiting quite a while, we eventually had to ask to be served. The service improved after that, and our server was pleasant, but the tables still lacked consistent attention. Several staff members appeared to spend a considerable amount of time gathered in a back room talking rather than checking on guests. The mozzarella sticks were very good and earned 4 stars, as did the French onion soup. Although the website gives the impression of a more traditional village inn, the interior is actually fairly modern. There also appears to be a very nice outdoor beer garden area that would be enjoyable in warmer weather. The cottage pie was a generous portion, but it was somewhat limited in flavor and contained very few vegetables. The fish dinner included nice-sized pieces of fish with a light breading. It was enjoyable overall, although not exceptional, so I would rate it 3.5 stars. Service: 3 stars Overall experience: 3.5 stars The Wycombe Tavern & Grille has a pleasant atmosphere, good appetizers and reasonable portions, but the service and some of the entrées could use improvement.
