So glad to have finally tried the reopened Wycombe Tavern! We stopped by for lunch on Sunday and were sat right away. Our server Max was attentive throughout, always making sure we were taken care of and waters full! We both had the burger and I'm not lying when I say it's one of the best burgers I've had. I normally ask for sauce or mayo but the burger was so juicy on its own it didn't need any sauce. It was cooked perfectly and all the toppings were fresh. We both opted for onion petals instead of fries which is definitely the move - make sure you get the chipotle aoli (thanks again, Max!) I washed it down with the strawberry basil bourbon smash which was wonderful. Everything was fantastic and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Sunday night, 5:40 p.m. We stood at the unattended hostess stand for 12 minutes. We called their business phone to trigger somebody to come and answer it, and they didn't come. Finally a bus boy came up and said you can sit anywhere you want. (Then why have a portable sign facing the door that says "Please wait to be seated"? We walked into the tavern past several occupied tables and by the bar which had many patrons. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table which was in plain sight of the bar and bartender. Well 8 months since our last time here, vowing never to go back bc it was terrible...however, never say never bc our friends talked us into going for dinner Wednesday night. Keeping our fingers crossed and hoping they got their act together since after all, they were still new 8 months ago. And...happy to say...all four of us enjoyed! I think the key is to keep it simple. All four of us ordered burgers...surprisingly cooked exactly as requested too! (After all how many times have you requested a burger be cooked medium only to get it well done...but not the case here). The burgers had a delicious grill taste, plump, juicy and excellent. It truly was one of the better burgers we have had in a while. Our server Nick was right on. We appreciated his attentive, timely and friendly service. Our martinis were a nice pour especially for the price. Also the Scotch and wine were nice pours. The restaurant was very empty while we were there during dinner but apparently weekends are packed. I am soooo glad we gave it another try and things were very good. I want to see this cute place succeed. If I could make one suggestion I would encourage a better "happy hour" menu. The Receptionist didn't even know they offered a happy hour menu which was understandable bc it had chicken wings and one other thing plus $2 off on wine or beer...I forget exactly and nothing printed. But I have to say prices for alcohol are reasonable for the pour so maybe a few more happy hour appetizers would be nice. Overall, we had a fun time, delicious food and great cocktails! Service was good as was ambiance. Fries are excellent. The chicken parm sandwich came out cold - and reheating it didn't help much as it tasted terrible. The sauce just wasn't good -and the cutlets were odd chopped up pieces of chicken. Roll was fresh and tasty. Wife's BLT bread was dried out and over roasted. Maybe this was just an off night for the kitchen, but I'm unlikely to go back. read more

We were very upset when the previous establishment closed. The new owners of this establishment have kept the great charm of the interior. They have a wonderful outside patio, great for a nice day. They have completely revamp the menu, and made it something very nice and special. Everything's affordable. Large portions. Great service. Will definitely be coming back read more

Not sure why anyone would find anything wrong with this place. The one negative review I read must be from the previous owner, because none of the comments seem to fit the current establishment. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. The food is amazing with a wonderful selection of options. Service is great, we get personal interaction with the manager every time we go. The chef is creative and talented. Special dishes always impress. Would give 10 stars if I could. Definitely worth the effort to get here! We love this place. read more

The food here was quite good. I sampled wings (Maple & Sriracha), Greek salad, Smoked Tomato and Mozz, and PEI Mussels (red sauce). Only the wings were somewhat disappointing (very weak Sriracha flavor, was more like pancake syrup with a shake of black pepper.) All other foods were very good. Service was good - the servers were competent and very friendly. Ambiance? Meh...surroundings are visually ordinary, lighting is just about right, the big problem is that the place is hellishly loud - my date and I had to shout back and forth to be heard. I think that this place would be ideal during slow hours, and I definitely recommend them w.r.t. food. read more

They have great drinks there. We had martinis and some of their specials and the bartender was on point! Food is good too. It's typically bar food with some creative options. Have been here twice since opening. Cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff. The place was packed. Our cocktails were great. Our appetizer was excellent (nachos with pulled pork). My burger was very good. Juicy, tasty and cooked exactly the way I asked (med rare). We also had the Bolognese, which looked as good as it tasted. Presentation of these items was spot on as well. While this restaurant is fairly new, EVERYONE was working hard and attentive to the customers , even if they were not your server. read more

Went there for the first time with some friends. I read about this place in the patch and waited a few months before going. We went on a Saturday night and the service was fantastic and to food was tasty. Our server gave us some recommendations and they did not disappoint. We went on a Saturday night. Our server was horrendous, and the service generally was incredibly poor. The food, once we finally got it, which was served initially to the wrong table but was good. The evening's dinner ended with us receiving a check for over twice the amount it should have been .. it was the check of another table! Surprisingly the place was packed that nite. Have heard from others that they had an absolutely horrendous experience. Inedible food & ridiculously poor service. Sorry to say we won't go there again. Our community has been looking forward to a right and proper revival of the formerly beloved Wycombe Inn, especially as the nearby Pineville Tavern has changed from its earlier self. Earlier reincarnations have taken formulas from elsewhere and dropped them unchanged into Wycombe with no attention to local tastes or wishes, but this time the new owners appear to have gotten it right. From comments on Yelp it's obvious that the shakedown cruise is still underway as they work to accommodate unexpectedly vigorous success, but from our experience the path ahead appears encouraging. Even though the Wycombe Tavern is in a historic old building, inside it has been completely and tastefully refurbished to the nth degree -- kitchen, bathrooms, bar and eating areas. There is some barstool seating, along with a variety of comfy indoor tables including some on a onetime porch along Mill Creek road. Outdoor seating is ample and seems to be popular, with weekend entertainment events conceivably in the offing. Background music is pleasant and unobtrusive, adding to an overall pleasant vibe. Parking, with two handy entrances, is ample except during peak periods when it overflows into adjacent roads. Both our visits have been outside the weekend crush, although after 6:30 it starts to fill up even on those days. Food has been well above average for a tavern, with some dishes, such as the brisket margarita, being downright incredible by even fine dining standards. The corn ribs app and mushroom Swiss burger are also excellent and creative. The sliders are quite good, although not in the same league, while the ceviche app is more a pleasant fish creation than genuine Peruvian ceviche found at, say, Geronimo's. We liked the Perfect Patron and Tropical margaritas, less so the Skinny margarita, and on our second visit the server kindly asked whether we wanted it with or without salted rim -- a nice touch. Bartender talent matters, and the margaritas on our first visit were better prepared than on our second, and also the glasses second time around were packed with ice making the drinks skimpy and watery. We advised the manager, who said this will be attended to in the future. The on-tap beer roster is predictable and should satisfy nearly every taste. Service was good on both visits, which were relatively early on weekdays. Four stars for now, but presumably they will become increasingly capable of handling their unexpected popularity. In the meantime, if possible time your visits to avoid peak-period crowds. read more

Went twice. First was two days after they opened. They were out of 3 things that we wanted to order. I'll look past that as having sold out of them during opening weekend. Second time got the Mahi Mahi tacos we wanted but the chipotle sauce and slaw totally overwhelmed the fish. Coco Corona shrimp comes with a chunky salsa instead of a nice dipping sauce. Had to ask for a salted rim in my margarita and it had way too much ice and got watery. Tried the gelato for dessert. Only OK and got an unexpected "treat"'of a hard chocolate turd which obviously missed the mixing blade. Probably won't be back for a third visit. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Wycombe tavern during its second week of opening and was very satisfied. The atmosphere was inviting and the renovations look great. You can tell a lot of work went into this space. The staff were very friendly, making us feel welcome right away. It was super busy so the food took a bit to come out but was definitely worth the wait! We tried the corn ribs and turkey balls for apps and they were amazing. Our entrees were very good too. I'm glad we went and Im excited to go back and try more of their food. read more

Food was delicious and service was good...but the seating was terrible tables were just too close together and it was so loud we couldn't have a decent conversation and felt like we were eating with strangers as the tables were that close. We won't be back until they take reservations and we could request the porch which didn't seem as loud. Restaurant recently opened with new owners. We rarely go to a restaurant within the first month of opening because it seems they always need time to work out the kinks. We were pleasantly surprised with the Wycombe! My burger and fries were delicious and done to my preference. For dessert I got the espresso martini with a scoop of their homemade gelato - I think I need to get this every time I go- soooo good. Our server, Grace, was amazing. Very attentive and friendly!
