First impression was not great, the host told us we couldn't get in without a reservation but the place was mostly empty. I went onto open table and got a reservation for 15 minutes later, told the guy and then he begrudgingly sat us. Once we were at our table however, the experience was lovely. Our waiter was attentive and the food was delicious. I would definitely eat here again.

    Gnocchi with duck ragu

My boyfriend and I were exploring the city when we came across this charming restaurant. We decided to try it for dinner later in the evening and we were not disappointed. Everything from the food to the service was fantastic. The staff was kind and willing to be a of service with what you needed. I don't understand these comments from people saying they're rude, absolutely not true! I would definitely recommend the gnocchi with the duck ragu. For a dish that has the potential to be super rich and heavy they've managed to make it so light!

Food, service, atmosphere. One the best meals we had in Venice! The potato mousse and the fried yellow squash flowers were amazing!

Only had a drink on the patio before lunch, so can't comment on the food. Nice, casual atmosphere. The staff speak English (and French).

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
