So sad that this was our last dinner in Rome! Thank goodness it was a good one! LOL! Debated going back to one that was tried and true but exhaustion won out and we went with close to hotel . I've been referring to this place as the one with veggies on the table since day one. Look at the size of the mushroom and artichokes. Obsessed with fried artichoke since our food tour! So good here! We also enjoyed the lamb pappardelle which was perfect in my book. Hubby enjoyed his pizza, ranked it #2 out of the 5 we've had. I enjoyed my steak and loved the potatoes it came with. Enjoyed everything we had as well as the strawberry tart! This place has been around since 1947 according to our server. Decor was so cool! Service was excellent too! Can't believe I fell into the tourist trap and graced this restaurant with my business. Rude af workers all around (except for one nice old man who gave us the wifi.. bless his soul). We wanted to sit indoors for the AC bc it was hot af outside and the lady at the front was like we're full, no more space indoors. So we left and decided to go somewhere else. We stupidly made the mistake to come back and the woman scoffed at us and was like "oh you're back!" when we asked about indoor seating again, she made a comment about a huge reservation that was supposedly going to fill up all the tables and asked us why we didn't want to sit outside. I couldn't tell if she wanted us to help fill the space outside to make it look busier???? But eventually she huffed and ushered us to a table inside in the middle of the room. and surprise: there was no big reservation group that ever came and a lot of those tables remained empty. Zero suggestions or comments on our food choices - for the lobster pasta I was imagining a pasta with lobster bisque soup type sauce over it...... NOT an actual half piece of lobster that we had to work for. While the noodles were plentiful it lowkey reminds me of the noodles in a chow mein. I guess the ravioli was sorta good but I can't believe there were only two pieces?? Expensive af and just not worth the price OR the service tbh. At least the aperol spritzes were good. This restaurant was a short walk from the Vatican, so after a long tour and seeing the greatest work of art by a single human we needed decent sustenance that was semi close and Taverna Lino fit the bill. We got a nice table outside and the service was fairly good as the manager or owner stood close by and was managing the other waiters as he needed for all the tables around us. The only thing we waited for (which didn't make sense) was the bill. For lunch I decided to depart from pasta and went with one of their Pinsas (a less gluten filled pizza), as a white pizza sounded good. I got the potato and sausage and it was really quite good. The potato's could have been a little smaller but that's really my only note. If you make it to the Vatican and find yourself in need of some food as soon as you leave, this is a solid option. read more

Let's be clear : this is a tourist restaurant serving tourist quality food to tourists. Don't actually come here for the restaurant. But if you are just hungry after leaving the Vatican Museums, this is a decent enough value option. The pizzas are very small, but taste good, and they aren't expensive. Stopped in for lunch since we noticed several non tourists eating here so that's always a good sign. Got a liter of wine for $11....nice. Started with Roman Artichoke. It was good but it needed some flavoring so I added a little salt. Next we ordered fettuccine with mushrooms and Amartrichana, both were very good. As we were paying for the bill we were their first chip card users so the manager had to show our waitress how to use the machine. Since we had to wait 2 minutes for that the manager brought out 2 glasses of lemoncello for us. We were never rushed and we sat outside and enjoyed our whole experience. read more

This place was recommended to us as an optional "on your own" lunch stop for our tour group members. It was a good local flavor stop, and they provided a very adequate 3-course lunch (pasta, salad, dessert) for 11 euro pp. It was also very convenient to Vatican City being a just a city block away. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. This place is the epitome of a tourist trap. Barely mediocre food and horrible service. Only stopped because we were starving and just left a lengthy tour of the Vatican. Everything took long. An Italian couple sat next to us a good 10 minutes after we sat. Their pasta came out a good 20 minutes before we got a CAPRESE! Adding insult to injury we asked for our "handwritten" check at least 4 times and only got it when I got up and made a stink about being in a rush to be somewhere. This place is beautiful inside and out but needs to be merrier and the wait staff needs to show their Italian spirit. The pizza is not the best I have tasted here in Rome but it is still good. They lasagna is delicious. Ossubucco is absolutely stunning. There salad did not come with any dressing but not too worry since there is a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar that can be used. The bread basket was so so with a very hard crusted bread. Overall, I would give it a 4 start but probably won't be back because there are just too many taverna to go try. read more

Bad at best.. Guy at the vatican museum exit just came up to us and handed a brochure, telling us we would get two servings for 9.50€, when we got there, turns out he lied. Had to pay the full price. The waiter was ok, despite 15% MANDATORY tip. But food was truly unbearable, salad had a tiny portion and looked like it had been kept under the counter for an year, didn't taste any better either. Pizza was more or less ok, but had tons of tomato sauce on top for some reason (it was margareta). After ordering pasta with cheese, we were met with absolute defication of a food, plate was just macaroni with 6, exactly 6 pieces of what could only described as cow/pig fat? Cant really tell the difference. Not a good place to go. The food was not good and we got charged 15% service fee and when I asked about it, they showed me the menu. At the bottom of one page, it did say 15% charge. Still this was a total surprise. The pasta was over cooked which is a sin in Italy. Seafood was not fresh. The meat was not seasoned properly. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The prices were reasonable but the portions were small even for European standards. The service was not so good as we ordered four pasta dishes and two came out together then after 5 minutes the third dish came out and finally after 5 more minutes the last dish came out but by that time we were already finished with the first two dishes. Like I said the portions were small so we decided to order a Margherita pizza as we saw someone else order a pizza and it looked very good but sad to say our pizza was not so good. Went here for dinner.. I can the cacheo de Pepe... which is noodles, cheese, and pepper. It was much better than the one I had in Pisa. It's a Rome signature dish, so I'm glad I tried it again. My boyfriend and I ate for about 39 euros. He had the margarita pizza, and a beer. I had a small pitcher of wine. They give you more wine for your buck at this place. The food was delish, and I feel like it was priced accordingly. We also got an additional pizza to go. So 2 pizzas, pasta, wine, and a large beer.. it was all very fast, can't beat the price. 15 PERCENT MANDATORY TIP! While I'm a very good tipper, I resent any place that tricks one into being forced to tip. When I rec'd my bill, the server HANDWROTE 15 PERCENT for "servicio." When I questioned the charge, she lied to me and said it was a tax. When I called bullsh*t, the manager pointed to an entry in small letters at the bottom of the menu. Food was mediocre and service was AT BEST worthy of a 5 percent tip (hardly saw them). Don't waste your money in places that tell you how much to tip--I learned the hard way! read more

Food is average nothing special and you will get only paper bill and after charging a regular charge they try to convince you that you were supposed to pay 30. 60 instead 30 so they ll take some tip if you don't tip them because you don't like their careless service.
