    Patata e salsiccia pinsa

This restaurant was a short walk from the Vatican, so after a long tour and seeing the greatest work of art by a single human we needed decent sustenance that was semi close and Taverna Lino fit the bill. We got a nice table outside and the service was fairly good as the manager or owner stood close by and was managing the other waiters as he needed for all the tables around us. The only thing we waited for (which didn't make sense) was the bill. For lunch I decided to depart from pasta and went with one of their Pinsas (a less gluten filled pizza), as a white pizza sounded good. I got the potato and sausage and it was really quite good. The potato's could have been a little smaller but that's really my only note. If you make it to the Vatican and find yourself in need of some food as soon as you leave, this is a solid option.

Great pasta dinner in Rome. Perfect ambience and service. Too bad we are leaving the next day.

Disappointment. Nice ambiance. Poor service. Not a good Italian restaurant in Rome. Two blocks from entrance to Vatican. The lamb chops had no taste. Che Ken dish was a slab of checkin breast without seasoning. Raviolis we're salty.

Stopped in for lunch since we noticed several non tourists eating here so that's always a good sign. Got a liter of wine for $11....nice. Started with Roman Artichoke. It was good but it needed some flavoring so I added a little salt. Next we ordered fettuccine with mushrooms and Amartrichana, both were very good. As we were paying for the bill we were their first chip card users so the manager had to show our waitress how to use the machine. Since we had to wait 2 minutes for that the manager brought out 2 glasses of lemoncello for us. We were never rushed and we sat outside and enjoyed our whole experience.

This place was recommended to us as an optional "on your own" lunch stop for our tour group members. It was a good local flavor stop, and they provided a very adequate 3-course lunch (pasta, salad, dessert) for 11 euro pp. It was also very convenient to Vatican City being a just a city block away. They served the salad after the pasta, and I heard later that this was not uncommon in Italy, but I guess no one dares to that back in the states!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. This place is the epitome of a tourist trap. Barely mediocre food and horrible service. Only stopped because we were starving and just left a lengthy tour of the Vatican. Everything took long. An Italian couple sat next to us a good 10 minutes after we sat. Their pasta came out a good 20 minutes before we got a CAPRESE! Adding insult to injury we asked for our "handwritten" check at least 4 times and only got it when I got up and made a stink about being in a rush to be somewhere. To top it all off they charged us 2.50 euro for a small basket of their terrible bread. Do yourself, you stomach, and your wallet a favor. STAY AWAY.

Daniel, the son of the chef and part owner was gracious and conversational and made great recommendations for our dinner. We started with a crispy sage leaf appetizer made simply with sage leaves lightly battered and fried in olive oil. Yummy! All of the pasta is made fresh and Mary selected Ravioli ricotta e Spinach while I selected Saltimbocca alla romana (Veal slices in Roman style) and both dishes were delicious. After dinner we opted out of dessert, but Daniel brought a treat to the table consisting of two sugar coated cookies and suggested we soaking them in our wine as a final treat. They were Wonderful! So far one of the best meals we have had in Rome. We would both highly recommend this restaurant, both for the family atmosphere and the great food. We hope to return before leaving Rome.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

It's intimate, cozy authentic Italian charm. The staff here are wonderfully kind and welcoming, making an already memorable meal feel even more special. Show up right at opening if you want to secure a table immediately, as this local treasure fills up incredibly fast! We started with the artichoke, which was quite possibly the best artichoke I've ever tasted in my life. Ubelievably tender and served bathed in rich olive oil that elevated every single bite. The Amatriciana was my personal favorite dish of the night, featuring a rich red sauce packed with a subtle kick of heat and finished with a generous dusting of fresh Parmesan. The stuffed chicken was remarkably tender, juicy, and wonderfully seasoned with delicate flavors that don't overpower. Lastly, the lasagna was everything a classic lasagna should be: wonderfully cheesy and deeply comforting, yet light enough that it doesn't weigh you down. Easily one of my favorite dining spots in all of Europe. I already can't wait for the day I get to return again!

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside.
