We chose the Suckling Pig, a Burratta, and Polpettte(meatballs). A small complimentary appetizer arrived. A nice piece of I believe to be ricotta with a bit of pesto on top and a wonderful slice of a salami which was the special of the month. I believe they referred to it as Easter salami. A great way to start. Our bread arrived and we could have been happy with just bread. Had to make ourselves stop eating before the food started arriving. The food started arriving: - Suckling Pig arrived and I was a bit taken back as it was served cold. But it worked. It was served on crunchy bread and topped with pickled vegetables and a dab of mustard. I could have had a larger plate and it be my meal it was so good. - La Burrata Pugliese con Pomodorini was a large burrata cheese with fresh black pepper. I was garnished with semi-dried cherry tomatoes and fried sage. Perfect. - Polpette came last. Three beautiful meatballs made with a mixture of veal, beef and pork and served in a tomato sauce with equal amounts of polenta. Knew we would love this dish as we always get it when we visit and will continue with our ritual. Complimentary little dessert arrived which was a biscotti with a chocolate dipping sauce. A very nice gesture. Service was outstanding. The small restaurant has seats in every nook and corner which just makes it homey. Highly recommend that you book in advance. This place is popular for a good reason.

Amazingggggg!!!! Truffle heaven!!…read more No doubt that Italy is the place to be for food lovers, and to top it off if you are into truffles .. this is the place to be! The food was exceptionally delicious and service was superb. We got seated right away and the place is a cozy little place that we absolutely loved. We got Prosecco on the house as we got seated. The host told us the specials (truffle of course) and the menu was very simple and easy to understand. We got the cheese platter with truffle honey. We ordered some delicious wine to be paired with our truffle pasta and we ended up enjoying every last bit of our pasta when it arrived. Our hosts checked us upon us quite often if the food was ok and we needed to order anything more. I highly recommend this place to everyone who loves truffle and authentic Italian food!

He walked with me to pick out a wine to pair with my meal and really listens to understand what you like. The food was extremely affordable (maybe I'm just used to expensive Boston prices? ha!) and our total came out to about 80 euros for my boyfriend and I, which included: 2 glasses of wine each 2 appetizers (3 plates of food - a salumi sampler, buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes, and a mixed vegetable plate) 2 entrees (boyfriend got the truffle filet mignon and I got truffle taglione) - OMG order something with truffles. They have an entire basket full of them in the restaurant and will come and shave each by hand onto your meal. I've never had a meal that smelled SO good - tops the list for sure. We also got some complimentary limoncello shots and dessert, which was a fantastic touch. The place fills up if you arrive a bit later but well worth any wait and they even deserve a second visit on your vacation.

I loved this restaurant/wine bar so much. We ordered one of their more natural red wines available chilled, and Pane & Olio EVOO, and Salsiccette al Tartufo. The bread was so fresh (baked in house daily), and also came with a spicy olive oil option as well as salt and pepper and a plate to dip. The sausage was the perfect little snacking cup with toothpicks and overall everything went well with our wine. They also gave us the little circular baked crackers to dip in our wine. When we were called we were moved to the main dining area which was adorable. Nearly every table had unique artwork on the surrounding walls. We then ordered more of the same wine, the Bonaccia salad, and the Parmigiana di Melanzane con Ricotta Salata. The salad was SO good. It was perfect with lemon and delicious olive oil dressing and an even mix of lettuce, cooked diced potatoes, olives, octopus, sundried cherry tomatoes. The eggplant was a fantastic texture, not too soft but tender and the cheese on it was immaculate. We were too full for dessert but the waiter offered us free limoncello shots as a night cap. My favorite part of this spot was how fun and kind the staff were to us. Letting me practice my Italian, giving great recommendations and overall being super accomodating. I'd love to come back.

Still busy for lunch and at first there weren't any outdoor tables but somehow one became available right after we arrived. Smaller interior with sectioned dining areas and a good sized outdoor eating area. Our server recommended the Buffalo Ricotta cheese with honey truffle-wow! It was exquisite-so light with honey truffle taking it over the top. They ran out of their Rose so we went with the recommended Red-Monica de Sardegna (delicate/spicy- Sardinian) For main, despite many enticing options, we ordered Lasagna Funghi and the Ricotta Ravioli stuffed with artichokes with Cacio Pepe cream. The lasagna was like no other we've had before -must try! The Ravioli was decadent and creamy-delicious! We were talked into the fresh Panna Cotta for dessert-simple, fruity and light -just right with our espresso and milk. Our server, Anna, took great care of us-kind and patiently provided recommendations and menu option details. One of the top restaurants in the Monti area and not to be missed!

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.
