We stayed at The Singer Palace Hotel in Rome and asked the concierge for restaurant recommendations for dinner. One was Il Falchetto, which was a wonderful surprise! The woman said it had great pastas and seafood; I assumed it was a casual dining spot. We went without a reservation on a Saturday nite, around 930 pm. The outdoor dining area was cozy and inviting; the lights were romantic and diners were having fun, chatting and enjoying each others company! The location is on a quiet road off the main busy/loud street. The couple ahead of us in line were seated at the last available table outside and we were seated inside. The restaurant was full, except for a corner table (which a couple took shortly after we were seated). There were 2 large parties. The small room was full of life, but not too boisterous where we couldn't hear each other. Lots of Americans, which could be a good or bad thing. Lol. We are from the US as well. White cloth tables, I would describe the place as upscale but not pretentious at all. At first I thought maybe we had dressed too casual but I didnt feel treated any differently than the Chanel and YSL bagged women. It was our last day in Rome and I was looking forward to a memorable dinner. The wine BOOK was a little overwhelming, so we asked the sommelier for suggestions for a full-bodied red. He recommended an amazing wine from Sardinia (the best we had during the entire multi-city trip). We started with the artichoke (carciofi) and zucchini flower (fried courgette) appetizers - both were delicious. (Roman artichokes are a thing here, I learned! And the season is Feb-April) My husband ordered the taglioni w/ lobster, and I ordered a pasta that had olives, tomatoes, mozzarella/pesto. We shared the pan-fried shrimps w/ garlic & chili and spinach. My husband is very traditional and so we ordered the classic tiramisu (although the pistachio tiramisu caught my eye!) Everything was delicious. The service was EXCELLENT. It was my favorite restaurant experience in Rome. I will happily return again and try the many other dishes offered. On the way out, I noticed the fresh fish on display and the gentleman kindly named them all for me. They are open for lunch, which the waiter said isn't always as busy. Visiting from the US and after researching places I wanted to try this one. Don't be intimidated that it looks fancy. We were on casual attire after being out all day visiting all the sights. Sat on the heated patio. Servers were all so nice. Started off with an aperol spritz and a glass of white wine. For dinner we had clams with pasta, side of Roman artichoke and grilled prawns. Wow I have to say one of our favorite meals in Rome. And for sure the best ever clams and pasta I've ever had in life, and I've had clams and linguini/ spaghetti a lot since it's one of my favorite dishes and ordered it frequently. The pasta was homemade and cooked perfectly al dente, clam sauce was perfectly simple and so good. The sauce coated the pasta perfectly. I almost picked up the bowl and drank the sauce but no I didn't. Grilled shrimps were mouth watering how sweet they were and the sauce was absolutely amazing low it went perfectly with the shrimp and had a tiny kick to it. Roman artichoke was super tender and just speaks for itself. So good. Had to get it since we don't have that at home. Our artichokes are just not the same. Eat here, you won't regret it. read more

A quite fantastic dinner here. Don't be fooled by the relatively touristic location near the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. This place is quite authentic and excellent. The restaurant is expertly run. The staff are extremely attentive without being hurried. Thus the pacing if dinner was superb. We ordered several antipasti including various carciofi preparations. All were excellent. The burrata di bufela was one of the best ever.The pasta course was similarly excellent. Three of my guests had a fish secondo and they spoke highly of it. Wow, the food here is amazing! This restaurant tucked around the corner is quite delicious and the service is great too. I ordered the ravioli and after my first bite I literally said this is wonderful. The sauce was light and flavorful, the roasted tomatoes were perfect, and the ravioli very flavorful. My friend had the pesto with calamari which was also one of the best things I ate on our trip. The calamari was so tender and flavorful. We visited on one of our last nights in Rome but if we had come earlier we definitely would have dined here again. WOW WOW WOW. Our last night in Rome was sealed with the most impeccable meal. We asked our waiter to recommend every item we ordered. Our jaws dropped and our mouths watered with every single bite. My absolute favorite was the pasta- I think I can say it was the best meat sauce I've ever had. There was a little spice and the pasta itself was perfect al dente making it easy to dig in. This place is tiny and we were visiting on one of the hottest days in Rome- originally they seated us outside but after seeing how the heat was affecting us, they came running to tell us if we were willing to wait a few minutes an indoor table would clear up and it's by the air conditioning! We were dressed up for our last romantic night out to end the trip and this is a place where dressing up is appropriate. Overall, I've already recommended this restaurant to several family and friends- my sister went a few months after us during her honeymoon and said it was perfection. Excellent restaurant. We had several Roman dishes including cacio e pepe which was rich and flavorful, the suppli (fried rice balls) that had good crunch and flavor and the artichoke, prepared Roman style (not our thing, but it was good). We also had the lamb chops which were excellent. Service was nice (although it would seem stuffy, it was not) and the AC was strong inside (not usual for all places). read more

We were set up by our hotel to have dinner here for our anniversary. We arrived on time to a very nice corner restaurant, the wait staff was ready and waiting and went out of our way to make us feel at home. We order a bottle of Prosecco which was perfect to set the tone for the evening. We started out with bruschetta con mozzarella di bufala" as our appetizer, it was amazing. For dinner my wife selected the ribeye with a side of potatoes, I picked at it and it was delicious. I myself selected the "I cannot remember the name" but was pasta with lobster and wow! I had never tried this combination before and was amazing. We ended the evening with creme brûlée which my wife loved (she's an expert lol). This restaurant was the cherry on top for our excellent trip to Rome for our wedding anniversary. read more

Excellent food and service. Very kind to my kids. Just be cognizant of many extras that you won't be aware of until you see the bill. We had lunch at a different restaurant where they asked first if we wanted bread ... here they just served it and then added 10 euros to the bill. I respect homemade bread but I think 10 euros is a bit much especially if I didn't ask for it. My husband asked for the octopus and got served a double portion--which we didn't ask for -- for 30 euros. When we asked about it -- because we thought it was a mistake--- the waiter just said yes, he gave him a double portion. So just be aware and communicate your specific desires. read more

Best pasta in our lives! .....Was the homemade ravioli. Delicious pasta stuffed with a blend of cheese and spinach coupled with a spectacular tomato sauce. This dish was too good to eat alone so I shared it with my dear wife. She ordered a pasta dish which we can't recall the name (and it was very good) but my ravioli blew it away. We started with the Roman artichoke which was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Chianti so good we wish had just bought a bottle. Tiramisu for dessert was a great creamy end to our meal. Fresh and tasty - Coated with fresh cocoa. Customer service was a pleasant surprise from typical places around these parts - genuinely kind and friendly service to us tourists. Out of all my meals in Rome this was by far my favorite. While it is walking distance from the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, it's still a bit tucked away so it's quiet. It's been two weeks and I still dream about the carbonara I had. The waiters were kind and courteous, and spoke English. There is free WiFi here too! After our meal our waiter pointed us toward Giolitti (the best gelato in Rome). I loved this place and have already recommended it to fellow travelers! read more

Tourist trap. Anyone thinking about traveling, if you ever go to Rome... I advise to stay away from this place. They tried to serve me calamari scrap just now. Rome is known for amazing food. This was just insulting and really, really disappointing. I looked on their website and pictures from other guests and they usually serve regular calamari rings. Im guessing it is just because we are American. Chopped up leftovers that were fried and overly salty. Disgusting. I have had great food here in Roma. My wife and I went here for lunch. We ordered the Gnocchi and linguini with pesto and split them. They were both so fresh and delicious. Best food we had on our short 2 day, 3 nights trip. I ordered the mojito, 12€ and my wife ordered the Compari Spritz €5. My drink was small and not worth the price. I would have stuck with water. She would have preferred a Aperol Spritz but they did not offer it on the menu. The food was amazing!!! read more

For the meals: Stuffed/fried Zucchini blossom with goat cheese - nice, but the breaking was undercooked and the dish lacked any real flavor - the cheese was too bland. Eggplant Parm - delicious and perfect lunch serving. Ravioli in tomato sauce - good, nothing standout Grilled Chicken with a side of Artichoke - delicious. Came across this restaurant while researching our trip to Rome. Every review from every blog was so positive we figure we'd have to check it out. The food was amazing and so was the service. Just AMAZING. We were tired and hungry at about 3:30 and wanted to find a place to eat asap. I walked by this place and the atmosphere called my attention so we went inside. Food was soooo good! We had the pesto fettuccine and the carbonara. Probably one of the best carbonaras I've ever had. Their wine recommendation was right on point as well. Baby octopus in a fresh lemon tomato sauce, fava beans with baby peas, sliced octopus with boiled potato and raw onion salad with lemon and olive oil, some tiny silver fish with parsley and lemon. Fresh shrimp. Grilled veggie plate. Artichokes with lemon. We also ordered a pasta with prawns in a light tomato sauce. The pasta was fresh and home made. Al dente.
