The best meal we had in Mexico City was here. Incredible. 11/10 food. Service was great and atmosphere was incredible. Already looking forward to our next trip to Mexico City so we can come back here. Don't skip the bread pudding. DELICIOUS.

Taverna is a hidden gem that delivers everything you can imagine. The food is delicious , the atmosphere is welcoming, the history of the location is one for the books, but it really was the service and care that Balam provided me that convince me to go back. Don't skip the desert it was a perfect closure to my meal.

This was top 3 meals while in Mexico City. It was so intimate without being to over the top. The service was so wonderful! Our waiter spoke English and Spanish which was so appreciated. The food was phenomenal. We shared everything and it was amazing to try so many dishes. The short rib was so flavorful and delicious. My fav appetizer was the beet carpaccio. Would definitely come here again! Make sure to have a reservation!

The restaurant itself is very beautiful and well maintained. I would say my lamb chops were very overcooked I could not chew them. However the lovely staff replaced our meals and even brought us dessert on the house. Overall a beautiful experience for my friends bachelorette.

Taverna is a place to visit if you're captivated by CDMX's unique architecture and love for art that's paleo modern. Simple clean chic yet somehow old and earthy. Food and service are alright but the space is beautiful. It's also a good break or forray into mx's Mediterranean version if you're seeking something other than tacos and quesadillas. We had - baked veggie dish (3/5) while the cook was ok, it was mushroom heavy. My partner is allergic and they neither noted on their menu nor did anything to change it up once we brought it up - a labneh passion fruit dessert (3/5) ok not memorable - grilled prawns (4/5) - burrata salad (4/5) Two beverages which were ok, one was a grape mocktail and the other had turmeric. Go herefor lunch, go to every room and space. Experience the architecture in solace and feel like you're in mx.

Ok, so we didn't absolutely *love* Taverna, compared to the many other restaurants we explored. However, perhaps we didn't order their strongest dishes. We had the smoked seasonal vegetables with parmesan (which also included a lot of mushrooms, so it was a hearty dish that vegetarians will enjoy!). We also got the tomato bread (bruschetta-type spread seatup), roasted carrots dish (whish it was roasted a bit more; tasted more like a slaw). For the table, we also shared the roasted quail. The cocktails were great! I had a taste of my gf's gin martini - it was damn near perfection. They have great mocktails, too. The highlight of my experience was the venue. It's *beautiful* located in a restored 1905 hacienda. There are dining rooms, a bar area, downstairs dining room in a cavernous setting. The candle lights, the plants, the decor... it's all an Old World romantic vibe and I'm here for it! Would def go back for cocktails + light apps.

A surprising find! The ambiance is magical and so well constructed and the large pillar candles just give this place so much drama. All the food was well priced and the drinks were made well. Some standouts were the Dates stuffed with Chorizo and the Crispy Mussels for appetizers. I also enjoyed the Seafood Arroz Caldoso as it had a good amount of white wine cooked in and was perfect to share. The service was excellent and helpful too! Overall, made a great impression and would love to come back!

Talk about amazing food and inspirational decor! Check out this spot for a late lunch or dinner. You'll be captivated by the food, staff, and ambiance. We had a group of 6 and they have plenty of space for larger parties, with a reservation. I try a bit of everything and took as many pictures as I could. I'd recommend splitting several dishes as the portions are on the larger side.

Great experience. Food and atmosphere was great and so was the service. The only downside - which was kinda big - they burn sage and other incense (which we typically like) was very overbearing. Would recommend going though

The ambience was fantastic. The bar area was great if you aren't ordering much food. Table can be quite small... Food was exceptional and memorable. The appetizer with the dates and chorizo was great. The hummus was also great. The chocolate tart was very special, moist, rich, and thin... yum. I highly recommend their cocktails, very nice and unique. I had a refreshing tequila drink recommended by the waiter and I was blown away.

You come here for the amazing decor and ambiance, but the menu was a bit limited and overpriced. Staff was friendly and the place is beautiful! However, there are better eats elsewhere in CDMX.

The patio was covered with so many greenery and provided a lot of shades. We ordered a few items to share: - Toasted bread, chicken liver, and black truffle: a good appetizer to start off with. The chicken pate was good, a bit different from what I'm used to. - Pappardelle with pork ragu: this was super good. Love the pasta texture on this. Pork ragu sauce was also perfect. - Robalo ceviche, watermelon, Serrano pepper: a refreshing ceviche to balance out the meal. the watermelon added a bit of sweetness. - Pizza capocollo, radicchio, straquinella cheese: a good size pizza to share. I like thin crust. - Arugula, roasted tomatoes, Parmesan salad: fresh arugula that went perfectly with the roasted tomatoes. Every meal needs a good salad. - Ricotta stuffed zucchini blossoms: this was my favorite dish we tried. Such a unique combo of flavors. The ricotta cheese just melted when you bite into the zuchinni blossoms. It also had a light crispy texture. - Hummus and pita bread: another good choice for appetizer. The hummus was solid. The service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and our food didn't take long to come out. Would highly recommend to add this place to your list. This is also a great area to check out, plenty of things to do in La Condesa.

The interior was brightly lit with a large beautiful bar, and had the vibe of a French cafe. We were brought out some complimentary (pita-like) bread, which was nice, but would have been better with something like olive oil to dip it in. My friend and I ordered 3 items to share - the Ricotta Stuffed Squash Blossoms, Eggplant Parmesan, and Barbacoa. Portions were on the smaller side, but this was the perfect food quantity for us. The Ricotta Stuffed Squash Blossoms were fine but a little bland. I liked the Eggplant Parmesan and Barbacoa, but neither really blew my mind. For everything I'd heard about Lardo, I felt like our experience was good but not amazing. Would check it out for breakfast to compare!

LOVELY PLACE, BUT WATCH OUT FOR THE UPSELL - Right on Paseo de la Reforma, on the second floor,…read moreyou'll find The Capital Grille, the same upscale chain you'll see in many major cities. They pride themselves on an elegant atmosphere, polished service, and fine dining, and to be fair, they deliver on the vibe. You feel like a bigshot the moment you walk in. The servers are friendly and professional, and the menu, while notably expensive overall, focuses heavily on high-end steaks and classic sides. We didn't order steak, as the prices were well beyond what we wanted to spend, so we opted for the dry-aged burger at around $24 USD. We also ordered grilled asparagus, and the burger came with truffle fries. The asparagus was quite good. The fries were decent. The burger, however, was dry, bland, and a bit tough, and it arrived overcooked despite ordering it medium. There was also an issue with the wine menu. When presented with options, the more economical bottles (still $60 usd) we asked about never seemed to be available, while plenty of alternatives at roughly double the price were readily available. That was odd notably because the menu was electronic... Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. It's a lovely place, and it's perfectly suited for a drink and maybe an appetizer if you're looking for atmosphere. Just be prepared to pay for the experience itself. If you are, you'll probably have a good time. If not, you may leave feeling a bit soured. Happy eating from John Seeto!

We capped our trip to this fair country with a visit to (of course) Capital Grille. You know with…read morethe extra "e" in Grill you're not in Providence RI (yes founded 1990 if you can believe it). But the service and ambiance had all the hallmarks of top-of-brand. Firstly, don't expect to escape this establishment without a much lighter wallet, so cash in some of those stocks around the roundabout at the Mexican Stock Exchange and go for food-broke! Our waiter was a master at several things: among them the upsell. I nearly skipped the appetizer until he informed of the "half cup" of soup. A finished creamy clam chowder later, I was admiring my choice and his skilled power of suggestion. Wait! Is that truffle I see multiple times on the menu? One day I'll order 100% truffle items, but I was with a business group, so I'd better act all businessy. "Hey any of you up for 100% truffle?" (I said in my head). If only! Maybe I'll find another business group to hang with. I hear Truffle Co is hiring (I wouldn't last a week). Back to the main event. I of course got the truffle mushroom risotto, and here comes Mr Upsell back for the win: "you would certainly like prawns with that." But of course. I know I should have gotten steak, but I was finishing a long week of meat-indulging, so I needed a reprieve. I was so healthy with seared spinach instead of creamed. But as usual the sides are enormous, so soon I was passing that and receiving Mac-n-cheese and truffle fries. This meal is turning out to be healthy! Everybody's steak looked fabulous, as did the fish, and whatever else anybody got, etc. My "dessert splitting" compadre didn't disappoint, and we got the crème brûlée, which was as it should be (and big enough for three). That and a cappuccino put me into the happiness zone. Perhaps I'll return soon, not that I wouldn't go back tomorrow, it's just I probably need to wait for my stocks to come back up a little before the next visit.

We also accompanied the food with a bottle of LOMAALTA's Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina that made our tasting experience that much better. Everything from the tasting menu was impeccable. I found the beetroot pizza and glazed short rib to be my two favorite dishes. The beetroot pizza was made with cured homemade duck breast and arugula fresh goat cheese. The glazed short rib was made with potato mousse line, kale and a sorrel 3oz. I'm very glad we went with this 6-course tasting menu. We sure did get a taste of the best. The following day we decided to return for lunch after having an awesome dinner experience. Our server recommended us the Avocado pizza which was absolutely delicious! First things first, we accidentally stumbled into this location after we got the notification that our flight was delayed. Now, being from the states, we aren't too used to Wingstops offering table side service let alone a full on bar! When they sat us and handed us the menu, our jaws dropped! They had a full complete menu! I went ahead and ordered a frozen margarita, and an added plus was that it was on a happy hour special! It was so good! You can tell they used fresh fruit to make it! For food, we ordered fries with cheese and buffalo sauce (loaded papas) and woah! Def mouth watering. They used cheese similar to what you would get at a local fair! I will also add that the hot sauce here was hotter than what we have had in the states. For my entree I ordered crispy wings, what I would have thought would be the equivalent to what I would order in the states. These wings were one-HUGE, and 2-crunchy and crispy! Tossed in the cajun and lemon pepper and they were so generous with the sauce! The ranch was the only thing I could attest to that was different in the states, but had it been the OG ranch...It would of been game over!!!
