Tawani is a magnificent management company, responsive, updated it's tenants in a timely manner, the properties they manage are spotless. Missing them so much, the owners of our building sold, and the new owners/management is a complete 180 degrees, just in it for the rents not retaining tenants. read more

I have had the pleasure of residing in the Tawani property at 1323 W. Morse since it opened five years and couldn't be more pleased. Tawani Real Estate discriminate against people with Housing Choice Vouchers. Housing Choice Voucher Holders only pay 30% of their income towards rent. Todd Jackson Leasing Manager at Tawani Real Estate says he understand that but Tawani Real Estate long standing policy is that everyone including HCV holders must make 3 times the rent. In my case that's over $30,000 a year. Someone who make that kind of money does not qualify for an HCV. Tawani Real Estate and Todd Jackson are aware of that and uses income requirements and high rent and other policies to discriminate against HCV holders and others destroying the economic and racial fabric of Chicago neighborhoods! read more

I've lived at 1323 W Morse for two years. The construction here is solid; concrete under the floors and ceilings. You don't hear anything. The rooftop is immaculate. Building management is responsive and cares. Absolutely no complaints. Corners could have been cut and they weren't. read more

I lived in 1323 W. Morse for a year and a half, and the only reason that I left was to buy a property of my own. Claudia, Joseph, Abel and everyone else that I worked with over this time was friendly, incredibly professional, and beyond helpful. As a new building, there was one single structural incident that happened, and the company was RIGHT on it and saw to a quick and lovely resolution. Also, the apartments are gorgeous. I don't know about land property, but these people take your PERSONAL property seriously enough to walk out of the office and help you find a tiny piece of jewelry when they see you out there on the sidewalk straining your eyes. Three handsome fellows joined the search for about a half hour. I have lived in 4 of the Tawani Property's and I have nothing but Outstanding things to say. The Farcroft Apts was my favorite with views of either the lake or the Chicago skyline. The Apartments are beautiful and the maintenance response to problems are fast and professional. I have deployed as a military member and returned to a Tawani property with the help of Leasing Managers Megan, Todd, and Claudia, who made my deployment, multiple moves and transition to a Government position overseas far easier with their understanding of leasing processes and over all kindness. When i return to the states I will be moving to another Tawani property. read more

We've lived in one of their buildings for almost 5 years. The building was renovated and the materials in our unit are high quality. They've had a variety of staff changes over 5 years, mostly for the better. Many of the staff members who are still there are very responsive about issues. Todd and Joseph have been helpful to us with heating and water issues we had in our unit. Communication is sometimes lacking though with things that are going on in common areas of the building and timing. The main issues we've found are that the same things keep breaking in our building, heat/AC system, elevators and doors/locks. It's frustrating since it's a larger building. Additionally, there is no security for our mail room so we've had packages stolen a few times. It would be great if they'd find some kind of solution. When we moved in, we were told they'd be getting a doorman for the building which never happened and would probably help combat the issue of strange people periodically getting in and stealing or wandering our building. read more

Probably the nicest company you could rent from. 24/7 maintenance (always have gotten everything I needed repaired). Very understanding staff (if you're going to be a week late with rent and let them know). Dog friendly building! And the building I live in has ALL utilities included in rent. Great size apartments, too. There is one dryer in my building that goes on the outs once in a while, but that's no big deal if you know which dryer it is and don't use it. I am posting this review in regards to Claudia, a leasing agent for Tawani Properties. She is the kindest, most thoughtful leasing agent who I had the pleasure to interact with. She was thoroughly concerned about finding an apartment right for my needs instead of simply trying to sell the apartment (like many other leasing agents I've dealt with). For the rent and the neighborhood you can't beat RPVM. In terms of maintaining amenities and customer service it has gone down. They cannot be bothered to return a call unless you threaten contacting housing authority or the alderman. Laundry facilities don't work and they are not in any hurry to fix them. Easily the best management company i have ever worked with. Responsiveness and customer service seem to be their top priority. Some of the cleanest and well built units i have seen around Chicago, let alone rogers park. Don't expect Sub Zero appliances and a work out room. You may however expect an impeccable maintenance and janitorial staff as well as some really friendly and caring people in the office. Not only do they remember me personally, they always ask about my dog. I would recommend renting from them to anyone I know. read more

I've finally got a copy of my lease renewal. It only took two weeks. This company needs a few lessens on how to treat people. But overall just happy I didn't have to take this further. If you're looking for a place in Rogers Park, you really should start with RPVM. I've lived in one of their buildings for about a year now and they're great people to deal with. They're incredibly accommodating - I needed an extra month in my place after the 1 year lease and they had no problem letting me stay. They even started finding places for my roommate. someone here made a comment that RPVM Management provide fast service is a TOTAL LIE!! They do not have sense of urgency at all. Whenever you call them to have decks cleaned, repair the always broken laundry or call their attention to clean the garden to ward off insects- it takes them weeks before they do some action. If your rent gets a day late , their new manager Kimberlee Carr does NOT give consideration even if your a tenant for years and will immediately give you a 5 day notice . Two staff of RPVM namely Kim Carr and Joseph are so mean and rude and needs to be fired and replaced with a better, decisive (NOT finicky) and highly professional property managers. They say something and eventually change it - like they notified everyone to varnish the decks and that everything should be cleared out, you got exhausted moving all your planter box and patio set then suddenly they would say " we'll just do it next year" !! Likewise, your paying your rent and yet they do not provide payment receipts and this RPVM Manager (Kim Carr) try to control tenants- you want something repaired and yet they delay things and decide on matters for themselves without giving due satisfaction to tenants. Their office pretend to be busy yet nothing has been repaired, refurbished or does not even create activities to build rapport with residents other than seeing them with their grumpy and fucked up faces. Finally, If you are to renew your lease it takes them months before they give you a new one. There are far better Rental Properties that treats their tenants with respect, dignity and immediate service , apparently RPVM does not , they're just after your rent money!! read more

This was by far one of the worst places to work with. A month and half of time was wasted with these animals that work in their offices. They show no sign of interest and they never called me to keep me posted with my application process. You will have to call literally a hundred times just to find out whats going on and in the end, they interrupt you, tell you to go find somewhere else to go, and hang up. Classy! I have done nothing but show enough respect and interest to do business and in the end they never met me half way which by the way, apparently i was a pain in the *ss. Nice to know thats what you are when all you want is a place to live to go to school. They will stall and stall till the point the only thing thats available in the end is exactly what you don't want such as a jail cell looking studio that has very minimal lighting and inflating plastic wood floors. If you like to deal with people who don't show any form of professionalism, respect, interest, like to stall and waste your time, then I must say, Rogers Park Vintage Management truly must be your cup of tea. read more
