First and last time I will ever do business here. The initial quote I was given was incorrect, and to make matters worse, my son's Social Security number was sent to the wrong person--an unacceptable breach of privacy. Communication was extremely poor; Fernando took days to respond, and the situation had to be escalated to his supervisor. I was initially told I would receive a refund, only to be told later that "after closely looking at it, nothing was wrong." In the end, they still withheld $60 from me, despite the inconvenience and mistakes on their end. It took nearly a month and a half just to receive my tax return. I had been a long-time client of Albert's tax services, and up until 2021, I had never experienced any issues. However, I was audited for that year, and I later learned that many others whose taxes were done by Albert also faced audits. Albert had assured me that he would handle any issues if I got audited, which he also told my family. Unfortunately, he did not follow through on this promise. Initially, I owed about $2,300, and I was willing to pay. However, it became clear that Albert had made errors on my taxes. He repeatedly told me not to pay the amount and that he would take care of the situation. When he passed my case on to his son, I was no longer able to get in contact with them, and my calls went unreturned. My mother spoke with his son, who claimed we would need to pay $500 to fix the issue, which seemed unreasonable given that Albert had assured me it would be resolved. My mother spoke with the IRS who informed her they do not charge the person a fee to fix taxes, but they charge the tax preparer. After a year of trying to get them to correct the mistake, I ended up paying around $3,500 to settle the issue. While Albert was knowledgeable with taxes, when it came to addressing mistakes or assisting with audits, I was left to resolve the matter on my own with the IRS. read more

We had to pay penalties on the business because of him. Robert was great working with us and hurt me when I stopped doing business with him but hopefully Albert sees this and changes his way of business practice. We had a recent appt scheduled for 7:00 pm. We waited almost 2 1/2 hours past our appt time for the call back with no response. By husband called to see if we were still going to be serviced, but no follow up response. No one ever called is back or attempted to apologize for not getting back to us. If you can't keep the appt at least reach out to your client to let them know. It seemed very unprofessional and careless. We will not be looking to use their services in the future. Came here for a few years to do my Taxes with Albert directly when I first started coming here service was good appointments were usually met no later than 1 hour depending on the clients questions after Covid everything seemed to go down hill even now in 2024 I no longer can go into the office I have to do my taxes over the phone which isn't the problem but I feel like they over book because last year I had to be rescheduled over the phone this year my appointment was cancelled for no reason when I call and ask they say sorry a lot of appointments were canceled and we will call you if a slot opens up That's IF a spot opens up thats no guarantee since the office closes end of Aug they said Keep in mind I booked my appointment months in advance I text Albert directly no response now I have to find a new Tax person read more

I've had the absolute worst experience with Albert. Make sure you read the Google reviews as well (they're terrible). If I could give him 0 stars, I would. Albert is the most unprofessional person I've ever had to deal with for a service. He failed to send in my paperwork for an amended return that I paid $525 for. It's been well over a year and he still has not sent in the documents. After 5 months of calling and getting no responses about this, Albert finally texted me back in April saying he was going to Fed Ex/overnight documents for me to sign, and I never received them. So one month ago, I asked for a refund instead (I don't trust him to handle this). I've called many times and texted him, but he has not gotten back to me or given me a refund. I am now going to pursue legal action for this. In addition to Albert doing absolutely nothing for my amended return, I was also audited by the IRS for my 2021 tax returns. I understand this is a possibility, but I have never been audited in the 20+ years I've been filing taxes until I went to him. I've had to call his office, call his cell, and text him countless times, just to get him to submit the audit response. I then received a letter from the IRS saying I still owed thousands of dollars. I told his employee, Nathaniel, that Albert spoke to my friend who referred me and after she explained to Albert that I have a serious illness and this situation has greatly impacted me and heightened my stress, Albert told her not to worry, and that he would cover any costs I owe to the IRS. However, when I spoke with Nathaniel to go over the second response for the audit, he said I needed to pay for Albert's services. Then, I called Nathaniel back on three-way with my friend and she reiterated that she spoke with Albert and despite him saying he "promises to take care of it" and assuring her that if I end up owing money, he would cover the cost - when we were talking to Nathaniel, he placed us on hold and then came back and proceeded to say "Albert doesn't remember saying that and you are not obligated to use our services to handle the audit." No one paying for a service should be treated with such carelessness, unprofessionalism, and certainly should never be ghosted. I would hate for more people to go through this, lose their money, and have to spend so much time trying to track Albert down just to do the job you're paying him to do. Oh Geez where do I even begin? To say my service with Tax Guy Albert has been horrible would be an understatement. Just like many of these reviews, I myself did not have my appointment honored, not once.. but twice. Albert failed to call, text or E-mail me twice this year (regarding a scheduled appointment for 2025). I am also being audited by the IRS for tax returns Albert himself did and I look for him for answers and help. His secretary (the only one that actually knows what she's doing) was kind of enough to help me and advised me that another tax preparer would be taking over my audit... I have not heard anything from his office since then. I honestly don't know what happened to Alberts customer service consideration. At some point he just has to take some accountability for himself and his staff and stop making excuses and giving people false answers and hope. Anyone reading this, do yourself a HUGE favor and save yourself frustration. Go with someone else who will actually respond to your concerns and not just ghost you because Albert doesn't want to deal with it. A few days ago I went with my ailing mother to get Power of Attorney paperwork processed and notarized; not an easy appointment (emotionally) to be sure. Upon entering, I found the location to be very clean, and professionally put together aesthetically. We were acknowledged immediately, something that is sometimes very rare to find! Agent Robert Almanza was VERY professional and VERY compassionate when it came to handling our needs! As we were ready to take care of our expense for said services, Robert reached out to Albert asking what to charge; Albert gave us a surprise of a lifetime, one that had tears and hugs and well wishes! Don't expect your appointment to be on time ever. If your appointment with Albert is scheduled for a certain day/time, you are lucky if you receive a call that day (normally hours late) but is known to call you back days to even weeks late. Wouldn't recommend unless you dont mind trying to hunt him down by calling on a regular trying to get through for your appointment and praying that day he will take you. read more

I've been doing my taxes with this company since 2013. I've absolutely have no complaints.... until this year. BENJAMIN FLORES submitted my refund to the IRS without my knowledge. Last year was the first year I didn't go to the physical office since Benjamin had moved to the office in Riverside. He took me step by step and emailed me all my documents in a pdf format that were password protected, followed by a docusign link also password protect. No complaints. However this year, I sent him all my paperwork and made an over the phone appointment. The phone call was short, he let me know of my refund amount and how much he was going to charge me. Nearly $500!!! Shortly after the phone call he sent me a link via Text message requesting my signature. I felt uneasy about receiving it via text message rather than email and felt the price he was charging me was excessive. Plus, I didn't receive any of my actual paperwork prior to requesting my signature. A couple days pass and I reach out to him informing him I wish to not go forward at this point since I have yet to resolve some tax issues regarding my daughter. When he finally responds he informs me he had already submitted my return WITHOUT my signature! I spoke to my attorney and he advised me to request Benjamin to provide me with all of my documents that were submitted to the IRS and also not to charge me for the services since I did not consent for him to do so. Benjamin Flores refused to provide me with my documents. He stated that I needed to send all my refund back before he would. IM TALKING ABOUT MY COPIES OF MY DOCUMENTS!! I have no idea what he claimed on them! My attorney has since advised me to fill out form 14157 and 14157-A !!! PLEASE DO SO AS WELL IF YOUVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE BY THIS COMPANY! ALSO!! Gave it 1 star because I had to give it at least 1. Worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life. Albert was recommended to me and it's been a nightmare! He had my transcripts and I had to keep calling to get a hold of him till finally he'd scheduled me for a appointment on the final day to file my taxes but then he calls me the same day, late I might add to let me know he lost my transcripts. Then he filed an extension for me and said he'd take care of everything for free. The return process is excellent! i get mine direct deposited. I don't usually write reviews but this is long overdue. Albert and everyone that works there have always been so nice and courteous. Albert has done my taxes for the last four years and he really knows his shit. I sit through an hour of traffic each way just to see him and even if I were to move to another state, I'd probably fly back just to get my taxes done by him. Also, please keep in mind that unless you're going off season, patience is key. The whole city of South Gate probably gets their taxes done here, so even with an appointment, you usually have to wait. Wait times are worth it though, but if patience is something you lack, you can just head over to H&R Block and get mediocre tax returns. read more

He filled the paperwork out and when we would call in to inform him of the issue he pretended to never be available. My father has been coming here for yrs and honestly i didn't know why, the wait time with appointment is outrageous minimum 3 hrs!! They don't keep you up dated when your tax person leaves and you have N appointment with them or they just don't add you to there appointment list they came "you never called". Lately these past 2 yrs they have been lacking in everything! My father was sent to collections for an error they made! I am a previous customer of Tax Guy Albert in South Gate, California. In 2012, Fannie Marlene Ordonez commented to me that Taxes for 2010 and 2011 were eligible for Tax Credits. Ms. Ordonez prepared my previously completed 2011 Taxes with for Educational credits based on the Student Loan Tax documents provided to me by my Student Loan lenders. On the Educational Credits IRS form 8863, Marlene calculated a total of $1,500.00. I entrusted Ms. Ordonez and Tax Guy Albert that my taxes would be submitted properly being that I had provided all legal documentation. Moving forward to 2013, I received a noticed from the IRS stating that I now owe a total of $2,600 adjusted made to my previously submitted 2011 Tax Return. I am extremely upset that after entrusting Ms. Ordonez and Tax Guy Albert 100%. Extended relatives that originally referred me to Tax Guy Albert have also since received notices from the IRS after completing Taxes with this same company. After contacting Ms Ordonez by e-mail, all email correspondence bounced back. Since then, I have received no reply from anyone with the Tax Guy Albery company. When I called to book an appointment with Albert, his office made it impossible to setup a meeting, stating he was tied up for weeks. It wasn't until I threatened to file a complain against the California Labor Board and Tax Franchise that the receptionist changed her mind about Alberty suddently eing available. A few weeks back, I received an e-mail from Fannie Marlene Ordonez stating that she has since opened up her own business. People like Ms. Ordonez & Albert pray on people in the Community of South Gate and with people who entrust and wish to support local small business in their surrounding areas. I am very happy that this place exist. I would not trade this place for nothing in the world. Tax season is very busy.they even attend the last customer by midnight(now that is what you call dedication and loyalty). They have many other services that I bet they excell on too. Everyone in the office are very nice and helpful. I have only been able to deal with ALBERT and JAIME. These guys are awesome they know taxes really good and would never doubt of their work at all. I tried to get Albert but allegedly he's booked for months. He recommended an individual named David. I set up an appointment arrived there early waited over 30 minutes to be told David wasn't there. When I had set up an appoint to go see David. I was referred to them took the time to set the allotment drive he wait and be told oh you race person is not here when they knew he had an appointment with me. What a way to impress a potential loyal customer. They need to work on communication and customer service and scheduling.
