All is great when they are preparing your taxes but when the IRS does an audit on you, no one is available and no one knows where your paper work is and have you explain your story over and over again! I highly recommend the preparer named Robert. Been a 5 years Customer of this place. Me and my husband travel from Ontario to South gate or Downey office whichever has availability. These are your guys when it comes to taxes. They are highly knowledgeable when it comes to tax preparation. No crookid or fishy stuff. Very professional staff and they explain everything to you. They have these huge XL computer monitors so that you can follow along and see what they are doing. Very smart dudes and we are always happy with the outcome. In order to have a good experience at an establishment there needs to be a understanding of expectations and also a level of comfort. I was in a terrible and scary situation with the IRS, I hadn't paid my taxes in a few years and to be honest I was probably months away from being garnished. Working with Albert was the best tax experience I've personally ever had, he was able to calm my nerves and made sure all my paperwork was submitted on time and most importantly he did a great job with the follow up with me and the IRS. these guys are a joke. the boss, albert completed my taxes and forgot to send one of my w2...guess what? i owe the irs 5k. so i call back, and they charged me to fix the issue they created. this delayed this years refund, i have to pay the irs still in all 3 appointments i had to wait 2+ hours!!! after an appointment time! NO ONE apologized for this oversight. im glad MY time is counted so cheeply worse yet when i asked why i have to pay or them to fix a problem they created i was told " i dont have to explain myself" WTF? what kinda bizz is this!? Having taken the day off to attend to business, I walked out and did a walk-in at Pascual's Tax Service in Lynwood. Nancy took care of me right then. This place took forever. I didn't get seated until 2 1/2 hours after my appointment time. After being seated, the tax person was not apologetic Like another Yelp reviewer, you could tell that they over book these appointments. To add insult to injury, the main guy, "Albert", in some way let my family member know all my personal information without my consent or me being there. I am sure this is completely contrary to any business ethical code and is probably illegal! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE! A business that does not stand by its appointments is not worthy of my business. A two hour wait is uncalled for. My time is valuable especially as a new mom. I had been a client of TGA for over 8 years. Our wait time continued to increase year after year, but I figured well it's only once a year that I have to wait this long, so, this year I decided to try a different route and drop off my taxes for completion a week prior to my scheduled appointment on February 10th at 10:30 since I have an active 21 month old. I freed up time during my work schedule to be available for the conference call. The time came and went and no one called. When I called the following day the "office staff" for lack of a better word informed me that my taxes had been worked on but they had not been completed. At this point I was patient and asked courteously when I could expect them to be completed. I was told they would call me back with that information. I never received a call back. Every time I called, I received the same response with no call back. I decided that I would take my business elsewhere so I stopped by to pick up my paperwork. I was denied my paperwork with invalid promises that were kept. Since I was already there and pretty desperate at the this point to get my taxes done, I asked to schedule with Felix rather than Albert the owner. I trusted that he may provide a better service since my sister and parents are clients of his. When I requested to see him at that time he was booked nevertheless and Albert communicated with me via his office staff that he wanted to complete our return personally. The only way I would accept was if he offered a discount for the inconvenience and he agreed. I gullibly accepted as I was told they would be completed by the end of the week. The incompetent girl who works the front office gave me her personal number to text her to follow-up on the status by the end of the week. I guess she doesn't know her number because she gave me the wrong number. When I called TGA's office she still had the audacity to confirm her number when I repeated it to her. What nerve. A week passed once again and I followed up on a Monday. I was told that Albert had a few questions for me and he wanted to schedule an in person appointment. I was livid to say the least. The availability of appointments wasn't until March 13th at 3:00. Two weeks later. I received a reminder the previous day of my scheduled appointment at 2:00....I was like they can't schedule appointments either! What kind of business is Albert running now? I think since his sister left the business a lot has changed and not for the better. When I arrived for our appointment my husband had already begun the process not with Albert but with Felix. I was really disappointed that after all I had been through he would not even make time in his schedule to mend the matter. I guess he really did not value our business and the referrals we had provided him. When Felix completed our return I told him that Albert had agreed to a discount for the inconvenience. Felix tried calling and texting him, but of course he did not reply. Felix offered a $10 Starbucks gift card, I honestly began to cry because I was so upset at the fact that I was lied to numerous times and that the owner of this company could care less and not show face. WHAT A COWARD!!!!!! This is truly unprofessional, untrustworthy, unreliable and far from mediocre. This is an honest and sincere review. I was told by Felix that he was going to have Albert follow-up with me regarding the issues. For what? at this point I am having a bottle of wine and moving on with my business elsewhere. I'd rather pay a higher price for ETHICAL services. read more

Being that it's tax season, I thought I'd warn everybody how badly these folks f*cked my taxes up for one of the previous years. I basically got screwed and ended up having to pay back a lot of money I had to fork out when I got audited. Obviously, I trusted they knew what they were doing so I did not bother reviewing their work. I was not offered the interest they should be liable for nor a reimbursement for their f*ck up. After I informed them of the issue, I kept getting the run-around and never received a response. I'm sure there will be more reviews of this sort from others in the future. Sad. read more

I had to push myself to write this review because I'd hate to know others are in a similar predicament to mine. I gave TGA one star because that's as low as it can go. I foolishly went against my instinct when I had Albert work on my taxes. His shady offerings were a red flag but I still continued my services (stupid me). I'm writing this not to put TGA's business down but to encourage prospective clients to seek tax services elsewhere. It may seem appealing at first, but when the IRS is taxing you because of inconsistencies in your taxes (years later), Albert and his team will avoid you like the plague. Jeanette, Albert and Felix are by far some of the most knowledgeable tax preparers that I've ever came across I've been doing my taxes here for the past five years and this guys really know their stuff there is a little bit of a wait do to the fact that they have so many clients but it is definitely worth it. I have got more on my refund here than anywhere else and these guys know how to cross their T's and dot their lines very thorough on making sure that everything is in line very thankful to have his guys on my side. The "appointment" times are meaningless. They are satisfactory at filing regular taxes. DO NOT go to them for audits or other services. I was charged for an audit handled incorrectly and left to fix it myself with the state. read more

I have been going to TGA for 3 years now and love the work they do. Felix was recommended to me by a family friend who has been going there for a long time. I had some poor tax work done in the past and Felix looked at the work and showed me how certain deductions like my tuition were not being applied correctly. He is professional yet has a spunky personality that makes it a joy to do your taxes. Some reviews below complain about the wait times, yes this can be the case but its tax season and some folks don't come prepared or on time.
