First time getting a taxi, called 1st service on google search and person on phone was nice. I needed a ride for myself and my two girls from Marin County Fair grounds to Daly City. He would charge $100 and even though it was a bit pricey he was there in about 5 mins. I was pretty shocked that he got there fast, he was polite and friendly. Car was clean and ride was pleasant. Just used them for the 1st time from Marin to SFO and back and it was a great experience. Previously I used Marin Door to Door for years but their service got ridiculously (and predictably) bad. Then I tried Western Eagle a few times but they were consistently late, nickel and dime you for every little thing (extra for paying with credit card, extra for small 11 pound dog in a crate, extra for early or late pick-up) and then one night they left me waiting (outside, in the cold) for 1.5 hours at SFO while they continued to say the driver was almost there - absurd and inconsiderate! Called Taxi Express on Wednesday afternoon for a Thursday night pickup, got a very competitive $160 round trip quote (no extra add-ons like Western Eagle), driver arrived 5 minutes late but made up for it with his good & safe driving, was very courteous and helped with my luggage at SFO. My return trip was with the owner who was also very friendly, kind, on time and brought my heavy luggage into the house. And he didn't charge me extra for a 1 am pickup! The cars are very clean, easy to get in and out of and easy to recognize. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because I had to call them twice to confirm my return pickup vs. them making a firm return trip reservation from the beginning - but this was really no big deal. I highly recommend them for a safe, friendly, on time taxi service and will for sure use them on my future trips. read more

They saved our honeymoon. My aunt was giving us a ride to SFO at 3:45AM and her car broke down about 45 mins away. I did a quick google search and gave these guys a call and 5 mins later he was there loaded our luggage out of the broken car and then into his taxi while we waited in the car as it was very windy and cold. We told him that we needed to get to SFO in a hurry and he got us there NP. He was polite and delt with me and my new wife worrying about being late for our flight. They never showed, told me they had no reservation at my address, then proceeded to hang up on me 4 times when I called back. Desperate, I called Patrick from Taxi Express. I was calling cabs around Novato last week for a ride to the Marin Airporter at 4:30 am to catch the 5 am bus to SFO. I called Safari, based in Novato, and they wouldn't schedule me until the morning I needed the ride - at 4am, yeah right. I got to Taxi Express and was told they couldn't come up to Novato for a local ride, which I understood. But, a few minutes later, I got a call back from them, and was offered a ride to SFO for $75. Granted, it's a lot more than a ride to the bus and the bus to the airport. But, he could pick me up at 5:45 am, and get me to the airport by 7am. Victor showed up a few minutes early, and called my cell to let me know he was out front. It was a very pleasant ride, and we pulled up to the curb right in front of the same bus I would have had to wake over an hour earlier to catch! He gave me his card, so after a long work week, I decided to call them again for a ride home. I called before boarding the plane back East. They told me to call again when I landed, and they'd confirm where to meet. My plane was an hour delayed, but when I called, a driver was there waiting. I just had to get my bag and meet them in the front of the taxi line. This time Patrick was driving. We had a very nice and lively conversation all the way home. Although, taking the bus from Marin is cheaper, it takes a lot more time and still involves a cab ride to my house. For the right fare and the right company, Taxi Express is a good alternative. read more

I feel totally ripped off! I could not get enough reception on my phone tonight to get Uber even when I was at the curb in downtown Sausalito tonight. Usually not a problem even at the back of the establishment. Don't know if it was a Verizon or Uber problem and I've Never had that problem before. Fortunately I then thought a Taxi Express was just going by so I flagged him down. He was extremely polite. I was only going home 6 blocks away but I'm a little handicapped in the legs so can't walk home. Just as I was getting out in front of my home I noticed a plaque that read Minimum Fare $10. The driver had said absolutely nothing about this minimum. When I got out I complained about the minimum and said that I wasn't going to pay that ripoff fare and I'd only pay him $6.00 which I think is fair as Uber gets $7,20 or less with Pool. Lyft Line is less at $5.00. Too bad I only had a ten dollar bill so I could not give him only $6.00 like I was going to. I wasn't afraid of the cops coming out if I had given him only $6 because they all know me as I've lived in Sausalito for 50 years. Was I ripped off? I'll find out tomorrow when the Police call me back with the Marin County Taxi regulations. It was so much better when each City regulated Taxi's but no the State of California took the power away from the Cities and gave it to the Counties. That's why we all have such terrible Taxi service. . read more

The meter in the Taxi Express cab we rode in last evening was broken or tampered with. The exact same taxi ride two days earlier with another cab company cost $10 on the meter (and that is what it has cost many rides before). The Taxi Express meter charged us $13.65. Traffic flowed freely both times. We knew something was wrong because the meter was adding up so fast, and expressed concern to the driver, but he didn't seem concerned, just kind of gave a laugh and said, "Things are expensive in California." We will not ride Taxi Express again. read more

We got screwed by the cab driver. We didn't realize he turned the meter off until he charged us $40 which is double. Lesson learned.

I was trying to get from San Rafael to Fairfield & called two other companies ( yellow cab of Marin- they were rude & not helpful, Marin cab co-they said they would be there & they never showed no call No nothing ... Awful) then I called taxi express they said no problem be there in 15 min ... Not only were they there when they said they would be but Patrick was very nice & we had a lively conversation on the way up ... I had some appointments to make & phone calls to make on the way back & he was very respectful turned the radio down & left me to make my calls ... I highly recommend taxi express & will use them in the future!!! read more

We didn't prearrange a ride home so we asked him on the way if he wouldn't mind picking us up when we were done and he gladly agreed! He was timely, friendly, and reasonably priced. WHAT A SCAM!! I got off the Marin Airporter around 11pm, having called for a taxi. I walked over to the only taxi there and the driver put my bag in the back. Then another woman with a child walked up and the driver told her to get in the cab too. I said I was not aware that this was a shared ride situation, and I was uncomfortable with the whole idea, but it was late, and there is no building or personnel at Larkspur any more, so I reluctantly agreed. This woman lived way the hell up on the windy and hilly streets of Greenbrae ~ I was going to San Anselmo ~ a straight shot from Larkspur. After the cab stopped at the woman's home, the fare was around $10. I figured that she was going to pay that, and i would pay the rest ~ EVEN THOUGH IT WAS GOING TO COST ME MORE since now we were up in the hills and not on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. I was tired and wanted to get home and really did not have another option. Then the driver flipped the meter down and started it again! Now I would be paying for a start from the hills, not the Airporter stop. I tried to talk to the driver but he said he did not speak English, only Senegalese and French. What a scam! How can you even get a job driving a cab without speaking some English? So the fare was about $7 more than it should have been ~ the whole time the guy kept saying "no English, no English" when I tried to complain to him that this was unfair. He should not have started the meter again ~ why should I have to pay from this woman's location? I know it's small potatoes compared to the big problems in the world ~ and I have ridden my share of chicken buses and shared transport in other countries with limited resources. But this felt like a con to me ~ and I do not like being conned. I sent an email to the company and am not surprised they did not respond. read more

What a rip off. We had scheduled for a cab ride for 8 people. We were quoted for $50 each way, local from Larkspur to Fairfax. I figured it was ok since there were many of us. The amount of people changed because some got sick and so we rescheduled for a later time, lesser people. When they got here they told me it was still a flat rate and the people didn't even matter. What could I do, we were running late so I paid it. On our way back something didn't seem right so I called another cab company, (485-1234) Radio Cab and they only charged us $20!!! I visited Novato, California and the next day my friend and I looked up on yelp for a taxi service to drive and drop us off at the airport. We liked what we saw with Taxi Express and gave them a call. 15 minutes later, the driver picked us up in a mid sized SUV and we were well on our way. The entire trip to the air port cost us 90 bucks. Very punctual, professional, and no hassle! read more

Absolutely awful. The driver spoke broken English, at best. This led to him not understanding where we wanted to go, taking us to the wrong place, and being charged double what we were told. When I tried to call the number and explain to the manager or whoever answered, I was HUNG UP ON. Places like this need to be held accountable. Take your business elsewhere. read more

We had called to schedule a pick up with Taxi Express from Muir Woods. After waiting a half hour after the agreed upon pick up time, we called the dispatcher who told us that there was a car on the way that would be there shortly. A big lie as we waited another half hour and still no taxi. This company left us stranded and in an extremely difficult situation. Four years ago I wrote my first review for Patrick and his taxi company, and I'm updating today for the same 5 stars. I can only say he is hands down, one of the kindest human beings on this planet. He always makes an effort to find you a cab no matter the time. First yelp review..... Yeah, the cab was 20 minutes late, but we were at Marin Headlands Hostel (with zero reception following a wedding) and all we cared about was getting to our destination alive. Patrick provided us with that. As we approached the exit of the one-way tunnel heading to Sausalito, another car-having ignored the stoplight-was headed full speed toward us. Patrick safely slowed the vehicle and swerved to the right as far as possible.. and this is a VERY narrow tunnel. We tipped well. One can hope that any driver would have done the same, but I am grateful he was paying attention last night. Thanks Patrick! Glad we are all alive! read more

I cannot recommend Taxi Express highly enough. Around Christmas time we needed door-to-door service from San Rafael to SFO, with return in early January. Patrick was "Johnny on the spot." He was punctual to the minute. And his price is reasonable and competitive. I like especially that he communicates via text messaging and responds almost instantly. He was in touch with us even in Europe as some of our flight plans changed at the last minute. Our pickup from SFO was changed from mid-afternoon to midnight. We arrived exhausted and weary after a 30-hour travel day, and Patrick was right there waiting for us. If you want a taxi service in which you can have confidence, this is the one! read more

Terrible service tonight. Picked up the taxi from Larkspur Ferry Terminal tonight. I asked specifically if you take credit cards. The taxi driver said yes. Rode all the way from Larkspur to Novato. She clearly does not know Novato at all. Got to my stop where my car was and waited for over 20 minutes for her to sign on for the credit card app. After several phone calls, and attempts to log on, she could not log on. I had to finally call my husband to bring cash. Do NOT use Taxi Express if you are paying by credit card. read more

I called Taxi Express on a Wednesday to take me to Marin Airporter in Larkspur from Sausalito on the following Saturday at 3:30AM. The taxi never showed up, nor did the cab company call me. When I called them, I got an answering machine. After waiting twenty minutes, I drove myself to Manzanita, and had to leave my car in the parking lot until a friend could drive it home for me. Called about 45 minutes in advance and in about 30 minutes, Patrick had arrived with the cab to pick us up. Not entirely too long considering we were at SFO. Patrick was very friendly and we had a decent conversation throughout the whole trip. He wasn't one of those lollygagging drivers either. He knew where we needed to be and we got there in a very fair amount of time. Payment was simple and they accepted credit with their mobile scanner since I did not have enough cash left on me when we landed. These guys did their job and Im a satisfied customer. Picked up my 15 year old son with friends on a country road at 1:30 in the morning without adult supervision/oversight, unbeknownst to any of the parents. Driver took them to Forest Knolls and dropped them off, being stopped by the police on the way. Through a misunderstanding, the boys only paid $40 of a $85 dollar fare, all the money they had. The next day, Patrick tracked one of the boys down and 'held-him-hostage' until an additional $180 was paid, which one of the boys mother did as she was extremely intimidated by Patrick. The total fare 'extorted' by Patrick was $220 for an $85 ride. While totally embarrassed and upset with these boys behavior, I attempted to talk with Patrick about this incident. He was evasive, unwilling to discuss the fairness of what he charged and basically told me that he would be happy to discuss this matter in small claims court. What kind of company picks juveniles up in the middle of the night on country roads? What kind of individual strong-arms juveniles? This guy should be out of business and I certainly will be complaining to all of the relevant legal authorities. read more

incompetent rude driver who was unable to understand that my family and i were the intended pick up at Manzanita despite the obvious visual cue of luggage in hand. when i called the company and asked for a cab they explained it was in fact the cab already at the lot. when confronted with this informatin the driver became defensive refused to take us . then he drove off spinning his wheels and aiming car towards me in an aggressive fashion. he is incompetent and dangerous. does he treat all single women with children in this fashion.beware single women!! don't use this cab company! read more
