They have a large amount of beer here
    Mike H.

Brewery # 282 Taxman brewery has a large selection of beers for such a small place. I think there were 24 beers on their draft board specializing primarily on the Belgian side. I got my standard flight with Hop Audit: Bravo (Farmhouse IPA), Bourbon Barrel InvEster (Belgian Strong Ale) Qualified (Belgian Quad) and Cold Progression: Jarrylo (Cold IPA). All them were solid but the Belgian Quad was by far the best one. I kind of wish I would have gotten a Tripel as well but maybe next time. I went on a Sunday and they had a pretty large brunch crowd. There's a large area outside to eat Al Fresco and a bunch of tables inside too. So the place is equal parts restaurant and brewery. I sat at the bar and ordered a tenderloin because it's a must if you re in Indiana. It was a thicker sandwich than I would say is normal for a tenderloin but it was delicious non the less. Great place to get a meal and grab a beer no matter what style you like

    Burger with Gouda and bacon

Stopped in on Sunday and decided that I had to try their Bloody Mary. It was perfectly spiced and I loved the piece of crisp bacon in the drink. I ordered a burger that had Gouda cheese, bacon and onion jam with an aioli sauce. The side was fries. The burger had copious amounts of cheese and the bacon was very crisp, which I had requested, however it was just too messy to eat and I ended up having to use a fork and knife. It was also just a touch greasy. The burger itself was perfectly cooked. Fries were crisp and hot. Service was excellent.

On a wildly windy day stopped by Taxman Bargersville mid afternoon for a beer. Eyed the New England Mussels and ordered. They are the best mussels I have had in a long time, plump, juicy, beautifully seasoned and all opened!... ordered another. So good. Keep up the great work!!! And stop complaining mid-west, you can get great seafood here! Oh yeah, and the beer is the best!

On our way south we decided to take advantage of the Sunday brunch at Taxman. There is a lot of free parking around the venue which was great for a busy Sunday. The space has outdoor seating as well, but too cold for us. Once you enter there is a hostess stand and lots of varying heights of tables (tall and regular height). The space feels open and airy with the bar going along two sides of the space. Given the fullness we decided to sit at the bar where they provide full service as well. Menu is great with both brunch and lunch options. They had vegan and vegetarian as well as classics plus some great lunch options. It was pretty packed so we expected a wait even when seated, but the staff was quick and prompt which was much appreciated. The bartender got us some drinks quickly and never 'forgot us' when we decided to drink only water. I would love to see an on tap cider (as allergic to something they put in the bottled versions), but they have a lot of options obviously made in house! Our food was amazing and the right flavors and warmth. There were a few mixups with the kitchen staff (a side order turned into an appetizer size, forgotten home fries, a bit of burning in the side) but overall the taste was great and I would go back again. I had their brunch salmon eggs Benedict with asparagus which was quite lovely. My husband's house made veggie Patty was robust and tasty. We devoured both meals and were very happy we had stopped in. A great spot and definitely something to try again for other options.

This was my first time stopping by Taxman. I don't find myself in Bargersville much, but we were driving through and decided to stop in for lunch. The building has a neat vibe, and they did a great job designing the space. The waiter suggested the fried chicken sandwich, so I went with that and a side of fries. They were out of several menu offerings and beer listings the Saturday we stopped in. There were a ton of flies in the restaurant although the indoor to outdoor seating was closed off. You really had to fight off these pesky flies to keep them off your food. I would describe the food style as elevated bar food. My sandwich was good, but I didn't think the pricing matched the experience.

Service was great. Beer was great. Short rib mac n cheese is spot on. French onion was a little salty and a bit room temperature but it was still good.

My mom was looking for a place that had wagyu burgers so we landed on Taxman. The menu looked good and when we arrived it was full on a Sunday around 11am so we had high hopes. Everyone was friendly but the service was very relaxed. The food was good but on the expensive side. I had the chicken and waffle. It was good but I could've used more sauce since it was a little dry. The home fries were really good. My mom and brother enjoyed their burgers and fries. It was a little off the beaten path (we live in SE Indy) but it was a pretty cool location.

Taxman has a variety of seating options inside and outside. We chose to sit at the bar. Our server greeted us right away and brought us a few beer samples. They had a large variety of draft beer, wine, and cocktails. They have their house draft beers as well as a large selection of seasonal beers. We got the jerk style chicken wings to start. They were very underwhelming. There was little to no seasoning. They tasted very "plain." We asked for BBQ so we could have something to dip them in. We also got the pork tenderloin. It was okay. We got it with all the toppings on it. Our favorite part was the homemade pickles. They do charge for sides of sauce. We got garlic aoli and BBQ sauce and they were $1 each. There are not many food selections on the menu and in my opinion, seems to be overpriced. We would definitely come back for the beer, but probably not the food.

Stopped for dinner tonight here in Bargersville. We wanted to go to P & L but it was closed for winter hours. This is our second time eating at Taxman , we are just not a fan of the pricing is why we have only been twice. Today we both ordered off the starters menu. We both ordered the Steak Sliders. They didn't ask how we wanted them cooked but that's okay the flavor was great and the steak was cooked just right. I would definitely recommend!!

Are you kidding. No moisture at all!! Dry dry dry. No bacon or coleslaw. Get out of here!!

Does anyone know if they get the Big 10 network?

I know they have 1 TV and usually it's whatever National Televised game is on, so I doubt it

Does anyone know if Taxman has live music on the weekends?

I don't believe they do. We have been there at random times and have never seen any live music there at all during "normal" hours of operation. Hope his helps!

Our kids welcome to sit outside and do you have a kids menu?

There is a kids menu. I can't comment on kids sitting outside, but they are welcome inside.

We started with the small biscuit board, which was really good--though a homemade jam would take it to the next level. I had the Vanilla French Toast and it was fantastic. My daughter ordered the bagel sandwich, which was also amazing. But the real star of the meal was the breakfast potatoes. I'm usually not a big fan because they're often over‑seasoned or mushy, but these were hands‑down the best I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and honestly unforgettable. They had an online waitlist that we were very glad we opted for prior to heading over. The staff was top notch. There was also outdoor dining available and plenty of gluten free and vegan options. Called at 6 and got a reservation for 8, for 5 of us on a Saturday night. This is kind of an anomaly for any restaurants off Mass Ave. We were seated right away and started with drinks and apps. We got "Disco Boys" and "I'm too pretty for this" cocktails which were tasty - kudos for the fun cocktail names. Calamari, Artisan, and Charcuterie came shortly after. There's a few different options of cheeses and meats, it's sort of a choose your own adventure situation. All were good, especially the calamari. A lot of restaurants tend to overcook it and the calamari gets rubbery, not the case here. Our entrees came out next and I made sure to try a bite of everyone's LOL. The standout of all the entrees was definitely the "Duck, duck" which was, obviously, duck. The runner up would definitely have to be the chicken cacciatore. Overall, really great ambiance, food, and service. I would highly recommend Union 50 if you're looking for something fancy, but not too fancy. I will cut some slack on the service, however - I arrives after what seems to have been a very atypical rush of Journey fans who inundated the place before heading to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The staff seemed a bit rundown and slap happy - not really attentive to the bar where I sat. I waited a bit long before I was greeted with a menu, waited awhile with an empty glass, waited with my food pushed away before it was cleared. No one asked if everything was okay even though most of my food was untouched. The food... my salad (house greens) was a great little salad! I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery.
