My tenant was in need of a space heater with the snow and freezing temps. I placed an order at the nearest store but unfortunately it wasn't available anymore. Ethan called me and offered to not only drive to their other store to pick one up but to also drop it off at my tenant's apartment! Needed a beach chair and the sign in front got my attention. We were greeted as we entered the Store and asked if we needed help & we felt like they meant it-not the usual generic welcome. They had a great variety of beach chair options and different size and price points. Picked up a Rio adjustable but the experience doesn't end there. After trying this one we decided we wanted to get a chair that sat higher as they are much easier to get in/out of. When we returned, greeting was even better. Friendly lady at the register came from behind the counter to help us look at other options. True what they say that returns end up with more purchases-we ended up buying the elevated chair which was priced higher as well an anchor for our umbrella. If they had golf supplies I would've bought that also! Exchange was seamless and fast. Loved the non "big box" feel and genuine customer service! This was an unplanned random stop during our bike ride to Wasserhund Brewing. My bike pedal fell off about 7-8 times and this place just happened to be on the route. It's a smaller hardware store, reminding me of Ace Hardware. They might not have everything here but, WOW, their service is top notch. My girlfriend went in and an associate came out to see the bike I had. He had me roll it on in and did everything he could to get us going again. I realize you're probably reading this review for more info but I'm writing it based off the superior service I received. The associate went to his own vehicle to get his tool set, and eventually found a screw we could use for the bike. Can't recall the last time I got that type of service at any hardware store. You might not find everything you need here but the service is stellar! read more

Taylors on Laskin is a fun store to visit. Not only do they have the usual nuts & bolts but a decent selection of gardening supplies, garden decor, grills ( big green egg) ,grill accessories, Yeti products, , cards, bird food, car care, and eve some jelly /jams. I as recently in the store with my husband to talk with someone in the Fire Works store about a gas fireplace we purchased years ago. As my husband talked i wandered the isles picking up odds and ends. The ladies stocking the shelves walked me (twice) to find items I was too blind to see (literally walked right by them). But they stopped what they were doing without issue to help me find what I needed. The shelves were well stocked so I found everything I needed...and a few impulse items as well. read more

After the fiasco that I dealt with from one Do It Center the day before and a pleasant shopping experience at Kroger for milk, eggs, bottle of semi- decent wine. I found myself needing toilet paper and guess what?!? Kroger was out! So I picked up some here! Not to mention. It was Mother's Day. I picked up the amount that they allowed. Seeing a Strawberry soda, Grabbed that for kiddo. Then boom! Hubby lost his hat that he wears to do lawn work, I replaced it with a new one and purchased a new Sweet Basil plant (Italian) and purchased a purple Basil plant. It makes a gorgeous Caprese salad with a little Balsamic and quality olive oil drizzled onto it dusted with a light high quality of un bleached salt. I just wanna know. I came for sweet Basil and toilet paper. The rest of the family made out like bandits on Mother's Day! read more

Taylor's Do it Center feels like a homegrown mom-and-pop hardware store. Their associates are happy to help, recognize a novice (me) from an expert (not me), and tailor ("Taylor?") their advice accordingly. They even make fresh popcorn for their customers to enjoy while shopping. It is a great place to go if you need some lumber or hardware and don't want to be overwhelmed by the impersonal mega-hardware stores. read more

Buy with great caution! I bought a Stihl MS170 chain saw from Taylor's. When I went to use it the next day, the chain and bar would not oil. I returned to Taylor's immediately with my receipt. They would not replace the saw. Instead they required a $35.00 deposit to have Stihl evaluate the saw. When I expressed disappointment, I actually spoke to Mr. Taylor, said I had no other option. read more

Great neighborhood hardware store, friendly staff and a good variety of products. I have bought everything from mulch, to paint, tools, a Yeti cooler, and much more. I often bring one of my dogs and the staff always gives them a treat. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. read more

Needed a bike lock after riding my bike 50 blocks to the oceanfront with my tiny, little dog. Were super sweet and let me take my bike in since, obviously, I didn't have a bike lock. Immaculate Service, unlike what you find at ANY Lowe's or Home Depot. On my never-ending search for an 18x18x1 furnace filter both Lowe's and Home Depot didn't carry them in the store, because lets just face it who in there right mind wants to breath air through those crappy filters apartment complexes provide. Needless to say I managed to find those filters here at Taylors. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help finding something to which I was walked to and pointed out the area the product was in. After wandering around just browsing was asked one more time if there was anything else, I smiled and said I was just looking around, TRY finding that kinda of help at the big hardware stores. I couldn't duplicate of find any issues that the other yelpers mention but hey its a Hardware Store NOT a beauty-parlor, sheeesh! The place smelled fine to me and they even had complementary popcorn for you if your decided to get your snack on. **Overall some may not think its a very good hardware store but when your operating a business on the principal of seeking out the customer and assisting you have a immediate 5 star business in my book. bought 50 lb bag of chicken feed. Got home , opened it and the top is all caked moldy stuff... ok so off to return it. Called ahead and asked if I can return to another location that's more convenient for me, they said sure no problem. Drove to return an opened moldy bag of chicken feed to the store, and then I get there and they give me the run around saying "we don't carry this item, it's a specialty item, you have to return it to the original store u bought it from "!!! What a crock of shit. now I've got to waist another 45 minutes of my day going to a different location ...all in from original purchase to this, about 2 1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back:(. rant over. take home message ---don't shop at Taylor do it center. read more

This is the local chain of Hardware Stores. They have potential, but often come up short. The people who work there are helpful. The main problem I have with them is the stock levels are way too low. I walked out way too often because they did not have enough of the item I wanted. I go there because it's local, close to my home, and reasonably priced. Example, I would go in to get 3 elbows to put on my gutter/downspouts, they would have 1; they should have no less than 30 of these. Once there were out of electrical tape. I understand they want to keep there costs down, but many sales are lost, due to low or zero stock. So when I'm working around my house, and I don't want to waste any time, I often drive by and go to the big box store, much further away. Taylor's is not the only place like this, many of the building supply/hardware store type places are like this, I don't know why, but sometimes I feel like I'm in old country town, where I have to go to the Roof store to get roofing, go to the vinyl siding store to get vinyl siding, the fastener store to get fasteners, lumber yard to get lumber. It's just strange. If the stock levels were on par, I would change my rating to 4 stars, easy. read more
