This place has been clutch since I started working in Pascagoula almost 7 years now. I've tried every meat the smoke but my favorite are the leg quarters and cheese grits, I'm telling you if Jesus had to pick his last supper it would be this setup I just mentioned. This is awesome bbq. Love the chopped beef sand more than the sliced beef. Their smoked tuna dip is to die for--probably the best in town. Pimiento cheese--excellent!! Where to start?..... A quick Sunday stay over in Moss Point found us in a Super Bowl Sunday dilemma. The Pirate wanted super bowl food. Easy....chicken wings. Fortunate for some and unfortunate for us, most of the local places were chain fast food (meh....insert sideway glance emoji here). The ONLY place that caught my eye during the search was Tay's. So we hopped in the car and in a short drive we see a shed attached to a gas station convenience store. Okay, let's see what we got here. Ohhhhh the smell as we opened the door. Holy Oh my Thank you Jesus kinds of cooking smells. A man appeared from the back and we asked about chicken wings, about 15 more minutes. Perfect! Fresh off the grill. I love barbecue and never make the mistake of ordering too little. 30 wings, a 1/2 rack of ribs, 2 smoke cajun sausages, pint of mac n cheese and the barbecue beans. while we waited, we grabbed some ice cold beer, water and a soft drink for the room. While waiting we saw several people order and go. Always a good sign. As quick as we arrived we we're heading back to the room. Every bite was better than the last. The ribs fell off the bone, the smoky wings were delicious with or without sauce. The mac n cheese, the beans......oh the beans. The beans were a meal in themselves with smoked sausage. I don't now how much love those guys packed into their food, but it was like a hug from the inside. We left Moss point and headed home, loads of leftovers in tow. The next day we ate again and I made a plate for our dear neighbor Yvonne too. I so wish Tay's was closer, but I'll tell you this, Ill never travel along Interstate 10 without getting off at Moss Point to get some Tay's. Always in my heart Tay's, always! read more

From a BBQ snob (as in I smoke my own and create BBQ perfection ) it is really a 3.5 as they did they exceeded my expectations, but they left the membrane on the ribs so I rounded down. Being admittedly opposed to gas station food I broke my self imposed rule while driving by a seeing the smoke signal . Great for a quick cheap bite while driving through or take out lunch. Worth a try but not worth going out of your area. In my opinion there is a 5 star BBQ place in the area but I don't want to disrespect Tay's work, and Tay's has more days open. Let me preface this by saying I am from Texas, I LOVE BBQ. The staff was nice but looked at my daughter like she was from outer space when she said she didn't eat meat. We specifically came because one of their specials was a tuna dish that my daughter would eat. The cashier said they were out but it was not on their physical menu. The pulled pork was so juicy my beard was dripping. The chicken was juicy and had great flavor. The ribs fell off the bone just right. Their Pig Sunday was amazing! Killer Ribs. The house made sauces are unique and very very good. Also, try the smoked wings. If you go get some Wings on Wednesday, be advised that they are .50 apiece, but they sell out fast. The best smoked wings I have ever had, and I live in Texas. Wings pair well with the White BBQ Sauce. And make sure to grab a tub of Smoked Tuna Dip for the house. It pairs well with Saltines. Stopped in Moss Point on business and found Tay's here on Yelp. Thought I'd try it based on the reviews, and I'm glad I did. Got a rib dinner with 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. I like my ribs dry, no sauce, and that's how he serves them, sauce on the side, and full of flavor. Tender, with just enough tug so all the meat doesn't come off the bone with the first bite. Best ribs I've had in a while. Slaw was not wilted and mushy like many places and the beans were tasty as well, with slices of sausage in them. Don't let the fact that Tay's is literally a hole in the wall at the gas station fool you. This is a great place for take out Bbq. read more

I had a pulled pork sandwich and found it to be average at best. The meat was placed in a bowl full of sauce and grease before making the sandwich making the meat appear juicy. That was mistake #1. No hickory smoke flavor whatsoever. It could have been roasted in an oven for all I know. I eat a lot of BBQ in Birmingham AL which has some of the best so that's my standard. Oh my gosh you must stop here!!! We pulled off I 10 to find something to eat & get gas...just wanted to make it easy today on the 6th day of our cross country road trip as we had eaten in New Orleans earlier. We got 3 pieces of KFC ( yes I'm ashamed to admit it) & then pulled into the Shell station for fuel. My daughter came out & said "don't eat that chicken! You gotta go inside! " The smoke smell was sooo yummy & I talked to the owner about what to have & he whacks off a rib & hands it to me in a paper towel. It was wonderful! I ran out to the car & let my daughter try it & we went in & got 2 ribs each (he gave us 3-4 each) & 3 pieces of chicken & 2 large sweet teas...for $10 and change!! It is the best BBQ we have ever had!!! The "white sauce" & red BBQ sauce were excellent flavor! While we were there a woman came in & said she drives from Mobile AL to get the BBQ & she said it's the best you'll find! We agree wholeheartedly!!! You gotta go!
