Thinking it wouldn't be anything too crazy, I looked online for a company with good reviews and found Cheddar's. The online appointment booking was very convenient, and I was able to book an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Nick was communicative prior to the appointment and Joe arrived promptly at the appointment time. Cheddar's was able to diagnose that it was a much larger problem than a small basement leak, involving needing part of the original stack replaced. Nick patiently walked me through what he thought the issue was, recommended a company to come in to reveal access to the pipes and dry out the leak area. The whole process was a pretty big deal, especially since it's the first time I had to deal with something like this. Nick was so transparent, patient in explaining everything, committed to helping me fix everything quickly, communicated between multiple parties, and just was so empathetic to the problem and disruption it caused, that he even ended up talking me off the ledge multiple times. This was way above and beyond in regards to customer service. After everything was able to be accessed Nick, Joe and team efficiently worked, in one day, to update everything that needed done, walked me through everything they did at the end and demonstrated there were no leaks. I'm just so thankful they were the company I called because they were able to confidently handle all the issues while truly understanding the plight of the homeowner. In what was an extremely stressful situation Pat (the owner) quickly answered every phone call with my endless questions in the shortest of time frames. I committed to him doing all the work Tuesday night and he told me his goal was to have my gas back on the following evening and he did - less than 24 hours!!! I did have another issue with my hot water tank (a manufacturing defect) and he showed up again to resolve that issue too!! His work ethic is top notch. His entire crew (Justin, Wes, and Callum) literally worked their asses off in pouring rain, cold and wind, up a hill, thru tree roots - hand digging - they didn't stop all day. Maybe a 10 minute lunch break. I felt so bad and they all were so pleasant and respectful. Elissa in the office was the first person I had contact with and she was so easy and compassionate to work with. She offered to drive to my house with anything I needed while my gas was off!! I complained about it and they didn't fix it. A year later, I was having issues with a valve they put in shooting water out, called and guy told me to put a brass plug in it and move on. Bought the plug and put it in, water then started coming out of the overflow valve. Had another company come out and the cost to fix everything including the blown overflow tank is 2400$. After having a 6000$ boiler put in, 2 years later another 2400 to fix their work. The system was pressurized well above what the overflow tank can handle and caused the liner to pop. He sends out his tech Mike. Mike proceeded to tell us how bad this unit is, that it's junk, etc. Not realizing that VALLEY was the one that sold it to us. So we pay Mike $200 to "fix" our unit. He sprays it with the hose. Takes half the lid off. Tests the pressure. Tells us it's fixed. We get home later that evening to the entire unit frozen than worse before. So we call them again... We had to wait two days for a call back. They didn't call back until I called for a 3rd time. Mind you it was 95 degrees in my house in the meantime. They send Mike out again. Who was over an hour late for our appointment, to scope our vent, which took less than 5 minutes and could have been done the first time. He then tells us "you" have to clean it out, to use a shop vac and reach in there and scrub it. Wait a minute, aren't we paying you to fix it? Mike then proceeds to tell us how he'd need another guy to help him pull it out and he can't do it by himself. Excuses. Mike also tried to sell us a NEW unit instead of fixing the one that's under warranty for another 5 years. So he doesn't make an appointment with us. We don't hear from them. More avoidance. We have to chase them down. I finally get Dan on the phone 5 days later, only for him to tell me they want to charge me between $500 and $800 dollars to "clean" my AC unit. Then he tells me we're going to need a cleaning once a year..... what?? What a racket! He never once took responsibility for the poor service we received, the bad unit they sold us, or avoiding us for days on end. Do not spend your money here. They will take advantage of you. They will bilk you. They will try to get you to spend exorbitant amounts on "maintenance". Then they will try to sell you a new unit when yours isn't even halfway through the warranty, cause they don't want to eat the costs on a bad product. They're unprofessional. They're rude. We trusted him to be an honest guy. When we came back, the disposal was installed and looked good; but he still had 1 job to complete (installing a tile backsplash ). In the meantime, our air conditioning system had a malfunction; we called the workman and ended up paying $86 for the house call. It turns out that Greg had turned off the circuit breaker for our air conditioner when he was installing the garbage disposal and failed to turn it back on. Since we were out of town, there is no other explanation. It created the malfunction, so we asked him to credit us the amount. He agreed to split it with us, but at the end of the tile job he added another expense without discussing it with us (reinstalling the outlets and a switch that were upgraded due to the tile job) and failed to pay us anything toward the A/C mistake he had made. Also, he takes multiple cigarette breaks and smells very bad...like nicotine and stale tobacco smoke...when in your home. The smell lingers even after he leaves. Regrettably, I will no longer be doing business with him for these reasons and cannot recommend his company.
