This place is a joke! They are out to get the customer for any over or upcharge possible. Had plugs and coil replaced at Firestone for a engine light saying misfire on cylinder 1. Didn't fix problem completely, Firestone said it was probably a valve issue and they really didn't do that. So I took it to TC Auto Service. They said they could do that kind of repair and look into it. I was quoted $200.00 to take off the valve cover and check out the cylinder and valves. Said it wasn't a fuel or injector issue. Said OK. Check it out. Came back with a head assembly replacement for $4,000.00 for one head and $6,000.00 for 2 heads. A new head from the dealer is only $475? There labor rates must be through the roof! So I said button it back up I'll come and get it. Long story cut short. They charged me $99.00 inspection fee for telling me basically what Firestone did ( it's on the invoice saying Firestone said). $260.00 to remove valve cover. $150.00 to put it back on. $105.00 dollars for a valve cover casket. So $545 dollars to get my car out. Was quoted only $200.00 to check it out. They get you when its time to put it back together. Very deceiving!! In fact, service writer Joe told me some people don't have their cars put back together and they just put the parts in a box? I can imagine why! Be very careful. Wolf in sheep's clothing! We were down in Corpus Christie for some beach time on N Padre Island. We hit a pothole evening before we plan to go home. On the way home from dinner, we can hear something rattling in the right front and brake pedal went to the floor. Luckily we can still stop. Searching Yelp, TC Auto Service had great reviews an was only 1.1 miles away from our hotel. I got our 2005 Honda Accord to TC Auto next morning as soon as they opened at 7 am. I described my issue to the friendly staff and left the vechicle with them. Although they do have a spacious waiting room, they also have a free shuttle service so I went back to the hotel. Less than 3 hrs later, they sent me an e-mail with photos of the inspection and another with the estimate for work needed (the brake line for the left front wheel was severed and needed replacement as well flushing the brake lines) as well as called to confirm the estimate. After I agreed to the work, it was done within an hour and half! With a ride back to TC Auto Service, I picked up our car and was back at the hotel within 5 hrs after dropping the car off without an appointment! Thank you TC Auto Service, for the quick repair that allowed us to safely drive back to Austin! Highly recommended!!! read more

TC Auto repair is like the old time auto repair shops and that is a high compliment. They care about what you want and are fair and straight forward. I have had a substantial amount of work done on a classic vehicle by them and it has been amazing. It feels like being at friends garage talking about the repairs and what they suggest and what you want. If you are looking for a cookie cutter 10 minute shop with no interaction this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for people who care, have personality, and will make you feel "part of the family" look no further. read more

I was recommended here by what I would say is the best transmission shop in Corpus Christi Ace Transmission I specifically told them not to change a particular part in my car I already knew that that would not fix the problem they changed that part anyway to the tune of about $900.The car had the exact same problem It had when I brought it to them ,they did offer to look at it again free of charge but when I came to pick it up they told me what they would have to do was going to be about another $800 needless to say I just took my car back home found another mechanic to put in the part that I thought we needed in the first place and my car runs fine now cost me another $250 read more

I went to Tc auto service to get my AC fixed and after a couple of hours they sent me on my way and my AC worked until 3 days later. I took my vehicle back and they said they would still charge me after they didn't do their job in the first place. I lost $200 here and at the end they told me that the first time I was there all they did was flush everything out and that's what cost me $200 and they didn't fix sh** it was only a 3 day fix! Never go here NEVER. They'll just steal your money. read more

My spark plug blew out of my truck. I know exactly how to do the repair, however I live in San Antonio and long story short was forced to seek out a mechanic. The part to fix it is only $20 in total, and any decent mechanic could easily do the repair in under an hour. I was charged $200 for the job. I understand that they are a business not a charity and they do have to make a profit however I feel that this is an overcharge. I feel strongly that it could've been done and still been very profitable for around $150. Also they left my check engine light on and were quite frankly not the most professional people to deal with. I work in insurance and deal with repair facilities all the time however I prefer to do my own work. I feel I was charged a top end price for a mediocre service. The only reason that I paid the price without arguing and gave them three stars was because they were able to repair the truck the same day it was dropped off, which to me was very helpful and a definite plus. My review may be unfair because I am a cheapskate but this particular repair I am very knowledgeable about and honestly feel it could've been done for cheaper. read more

This shop upcharges like no ones business. They make guesses, and usually expensive ones, as to what could be wrong with your car and then charge astronomical rates to go on their hunches. I made the mistake of taking my car there twice, wracking up 2k+ in bills. Only to find out when I took it to another mechanic in corpus, that half of the stuff they "fixed" didn't need to be fixed. I also told them everything TC had done and the mechanic informed me that it shouldn't have even cost half of what they charged me. This shop does good work when they actually do fix something that truly needs to be fixed, but their complete disregard for honesty and integrity, their deceitfulness, and their thief like mentality makes it an obvious 1 star. Customer service by Todd was subpar. Which is pretty sad to find out that he is also the owner of the store. After finishing the diagnostic on my vehicle I was told to wait to discuss the results and pricing. I asked how long it would take because my ride was waiting on me and I wanted to see if they should leave or not. Instead of giving me a solid answer he told me 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, and seeing the guy look at me every so often, I went to use the restroom and found the guy in the back relaxing and enjoying a conversation. After he sees me, he tries to engage in a awkward conversation, and then wants to discuss the results afterwards. No honesty or integrity, would not recommend doing business with shady people. Edit: the owner wanted to say he did that because I was on the phone. FaceTime was under 5 minutes. My message to the owner- that I'm right mentality is a clear example of why your customer service is bad. A simple apology would have sufficed. Horrible management skills... strongly recommend not going to TC auto service! read more

Fantastic service. Would recommend them to anyone. I was driving home from work around 5 pm and all of a sudden off the causeway it sounded like I ran over someone's bumper and my car broke completely down. I was petrified. As this happened I was talking to my friend who told me to take it to TC Auto. I hadn't heard of them because I drive a BMW and have only taken my car to BMW Elite in Corpus. However, I called them first and it being close to 5:30 by this time I didn't expect to receive a callback. So I called TC Auto while my husband was figuring out the towing (while standing in the rain/cold on the side of the causeway, while my car smoking and leaking oil everywhere). Horrible day. Immediately I spoke with who sounded like the owner of the place. He was extremely helpful and worried about our safety and even had his guys come tow my car to his shop that evening. I told him it is a BMW and I had no clue how this had happened. I take care of my car very well. I was frantic, literally thought it was going to blow up. Long story short, he came and got my car and called me the next afternoon with the info. He explained to me what had happened (the drivetrain had busted and caused the oil pan to bust through, hence why it was leaking oil) and that it was in no way my fault nor anything I could have prevented. He said there had to be something more to how this had happened and that he was going to dig a little deeper and call me back. About 30 minutes later he called and said he had called my vin into BMW and sure enough there was a recall on the drivetrain of my vehicle. To make a long story long, he sent me pics, told me his shop could take care of my car but that I would be better off letting the BMW dealership take care of it because they could probably get the parts sooner and also give me a rental car. The best part was he took pics and told me that they really should give me a whole new engine. He was 100% right about everything. BMW was able to get the parts within 2 days, gave me a beautiful hybrid 2019 rental to drive in the meantime, and are giving me a brand new engine. Being a girl, if I didn't go into BMW knowing exactly what was wrong with my vehicle and what I should expect to get, I could have walked away with a huge bill and a lot of anxiety at the very least. The guys at TC Auto were straight forward and charged me next to nothing for making my problem theirs and advising me exactly how to go about it. I highly recommend TC Auto Service. I have taken my car to them, and I feel like I got honest, trustworthy service at a reasonable price. When I thought my car was having trouble and they couldn't detect any erros with it, they didn't just make up a problem like I have seen other mechanics do in the past. They didn't even charge me for checking everything out! The staff is friendly and they will even give you a ride home if you live nearby and it is going to take a while so you don't have to wait up there all day. read more

This is the worst place ever I had already spent $800 at another place... Then find tc auto reading good reviews so I took it here thinking they would really help they really seemed like they knew what the we're talking about but it was one thing after another they think it's coils and a clutch on the compressor that didn't work... They had said the compressor worked fine..then all of a sudden it needed a new compressor so I said ok thinking that my ac would be fixed...I get a call it's not that not having very much money I just wanted to take it back home but they said it was something electrical so I said to fix it because they gave me hope that it was gonna get fixed car stayed over the weekend I get a call in the morning and they said it was the hose and would work after that so they replaced it I get another call that didn't work it was the ac control panel and that cost $347 at that point I didn't have they money and had to take it home now I backdown to square one with no ac and $1700 I spent not to have working ac does anybody know where to take a car to fix your ac and be honest read more
