This is my favorite place to go for running shoes in the TC area. I find the staff here to be the most knowledgeable about shoes and make good recommendations based on what your looking for. I've gone other places and have always eventually gone back to TC Running Company even though it's quite a drive for me. You can run on a treadmill or they have a nice strip right inside the store to sprint back and forth on which is nice. Return policy is good and shoes aren't overpriced. They of course have other running equipment, but I've mostly come here for the shoes. read more

My wife and I were looking for some new running shoes. She is by far the bigger runner than I, but I needed a nice wide pair of shoes and we strolled into the strip mall store. This was one of the first nice days in Minnesota and the runners were out! The owner behind the desk was super helpful in finding a nice wide pair of shoes for me and my wife and him had a long conversation about the nuances between various models of shoes. We spent 300 bucks for three pairs of shoes and she got a beautiful running jacket at a heavy discount. My wife is also a member of the Minnesota Running Association, so she got an additional 20 percent off. The staff really seemed to love running and was super helpful. Everyone in the store was in running heaven. Specialty stores are always great to go to because the staff is usually big fans of their love and TC Running is no exception. The staff is obviously composed of runners. They know the products and can make a individual recommendation for you. If you need to be fitted they'll watch you run a bit so it is a perfect fit. I'm currently training for my first marathon and the shoes I've been running in have been working well. However, I was interested in what else was on the market. I had walked into other running stores and was told to just 'stick with what I have'. A bit disheartening and frustrating since I wanted not just what I have but what would be best for my feet and distance. At TC Running Company I was immediately welcomed and helped, I told Josh what shoe I was currently wearing and he picked up the new version of that along with other brands to try on. Very impressed by customer service. They took the time to counsel my kid on her choice of shoes. She has a narrow feet and tendency to over-pronate so it is difficult to find shoes for track that won't hurt her feet. We went on a Saturday and they had cookies and coffee by the couches as we had to wait a bit as they were really busy. In fact, the place was swarming with customers, very unusual for a specialty store. While waiting for a sales rep we heard some men talk about how they never walk out of the store without a pair of shoes. We had the same experience. What a difference from Foot Locker's clueless sales associates!! Josh took his time with my daughter, he first took a look at her current shoes to figure out how her foot fell and then had her try on several pairs and walk on their "track" till she was satisfied. In fact, we never knew she had a really narrow foot till they told us. While in the store, I saw several customers talk to them about their shoes and I left with the feeling that they really try to take care of their customers' needs. We had signed up on Athlinks before our visit which also got us an additional 20% discount on her new Nikes, which was cheaper than any online price. The staff here know everything about running and are always willing to help out. If you have any problems with joint pain or... well, anything related to running, they can help. I've been here a few times, but once I went with a friend and one of the staff members analyzed the bottom of his shoe to figure out his running style. From that, the staff member recommended a certain shoe that would help support his running form. Like... what?? Cool! They definitely know what they're talking about. Excellent experience here today! Josh helped me from the moment I walked in and went through a variety of options with me. I was currently in a pair of Nike Vomero's that were causing me knee pain. After a few seconds on the treadmill he was able to tell the foam was too soft and my foot/knee was rolling. I tried on a variety of Brooks and even though he could have sold me a pair they had in stock he offered to order another style to I could try them on side by side. No pressure whatsoever. Best running shop I've been to by far! Excellent customer service, store attendants are willing to spend ample time helping you figure out what shoes work best for you. Almost all running stores have a treadmill at this point (and TC does too), but TC Running Co's employees seem to have so much more knowledge and expertise when selecting a shoe than other stores. Awesome experience! I came in looking for specialized help picking out new shoes based on my stride and they did a great job analyzing my gait and suggesting various styles. Beyond my purchase, I was floored by their amazing customer service. I heard of TC Running through a $20 off coupon in the mail and it was the whole reason I went there to begin with. After leaving the store with my purchase, I realized I forgot to use the coupon and felt really bad since my mom had paid for the shoes as a birthday present for me. The next morning, I called the store to explain the situation. The associate checked with the manager and said that yes, I could bring in the receipt/coupon and they could honor it for me. Awesome! But then my phone rings two minutes later and it's the manager (I forgot his name, my bad), offering to save me the trip by looking up my transaction and refunding me the $20 over the phone. I was in awe that he would reach out to me and proactively offer me such great service when it was my fault that I had forgotten about my coupon in the first place. Based on other reviews, I called the store and spoke with the owner, Adam Lindahl. I discussed my running issues and knee problems and Adam said he would meet with me Saturday morning and I should bring my running shoes. I was very optimistic after our conversation and drove 85 miles from Wisconsin to meet with Adam the next morning. I had absolutely the best customer service experience that I can recall. Adam listened to my story, took the time to watch me run in each pair of my existing shoes, analyzed my gait and then watched me run in each pair of shoes he recommended. I saw other members of his staff doing the same thing for their other customers. He put in me the most comfortable pair of shoes, Hoka One Ones, that I've ever worn. I've only run once in them so far, but I'm optimistic. Even if these shoes aren't the answer for me, I will definitely be returning to TC Running Company for my future purchases. If, like me, you're tired of guessing what's right for your feet, you need to visit TC Running Company. It was completely worth my drive and it will be worth your time and your drive too. Top notch! We decided that it was time to get some new running shoes. I stopped by a few other well known places in the Twin Cities but sure am glad my wife mentioned TC Running. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a runner. I think I've ran a total of 4 blocks since graduating high school; however I married a runner and have since been exposed to the weird world of runners. I had no idea so many people actually enjoyed this activity. Now that I've become used to the idea that people can actually enjoy running, I understand the obsession and have a greater appreciation for it---even though I have no intention of ever throwing on running shoes and heading out to hit the pavement. Recently I visited TC Running Company to pick up something for a coworker. The staff (all extremely experienced runners) was very nice and helpful. All of the customers seemed to be enjoying their experience. The team is involved in the Twin Cities running community and supports local runners. They have a great selection of shoes, clothing and accessories. If I ever decide to take up running, it will be the only place I'll go! I went into the store to pick up a gift card and ended up buying these amazing mittens which have since made me question how I survived MN winters (especially this one) without them.
