Been here a few times to watch Celtics games. I'm not a Celtic fan, but I do love basketball. The atmosphere and the crowd here are just amazing. Crowd is always energetic probably one of the better fans in the NBA. The TD Garden itself it pretty old but well kept. It is easily accessible through the commuter rail. If you are driving, parking nearby will cost you around $25 or more so I would definitely recommend taking the T. LA all day tho! read more

The TD Bank North Garden is the place to go in Boston for sporting events and concerts, as well as business functions and special events. Upcoming concerts include Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Shakira, and The WHO. The garden is home to the NBA's Boston Celtics and the NHL's Boston Bruins...There is MBTA bus service nearby and commuter rail ends at North Station (From North of Boston). If you come from the south you have to go to south station and take the subway to North Station. The Subway station is North Station and has access directly to the TD Bank North Garden from the Orange and Green Lines. The Premium Club Suites are awesome as are the restaurants. The sports museum of New England is also in the TD Bank North garden and is well worth a visit. I believe they give tours of the garden as well. There is a spacious pro shop with a variety of Celtics and Bruins memorobillia. Prices inside the stadum are a bit expensive thats why I give it four stars instead of five, but overall the experience at the TD Bank North Garden is pretty good. It is a kid friendly place as well and right now the Celtics are the most popular attraction with the kids. The Garden is well worth the visit. TIP: Do not bring bags as there' s no place to check bags, leave them in your car. Do not bring cameras with detachable lenses or water bottles/food. they will not be allowed inside. Digital Cameras are fine. The usher staff is great and there's always someone to help you if you need assistance. Elevators in the lobby for disabled patrons. Have fun at the TD Bank North Garden. TIP: Parking Can Be expensive so if you come for an evening event try getting off at Mystic Ave, on 93 and taking route 28 down to Lechemere...park around the cambridge courthouse at a meter (free after 6pm) and take the Green line, or walk if its a nice day (a 10 -20 minute walk) NOTE: As an employee at the garden an usher. - I must tell you the reason we cant have bag and bag check area, is because of the security risk. We are above a major train station and right next to a major highway and federal building. We cannot have bags and bag storage due to this reason. We're sorry for this but its not possible. One missed device in a bag could render a train station gone, a building gone, and a highway in need of repair. I am a democrat myself but we all need to remember 9-11 and realize this could happen again any time. And north station is in such a tight area we just can't do bag checks and bags. We allow pocket books but they have to be small ones, not those huge ones you ladies carry around. Why do you need five gallons of makeup at a game anyway? I never understand that. Also FYI most stadiums and arenas dont allow large backpacks and large bags. And as for smoking most buildings in boston are no smoking inside ...and ,most stadiums and arenas are as well and there is no reentry in just about any stadium/arena you visit. read more

Nothing beats going into Boston to watch the Bruins at TD garden it makes you feel like everyone is family, especially at the train station the crazy dough pizza is amazing . I SAID, I LOST MY VOICE AT THE BRUIN'S GAME LAST NIGHT! sheez, man. I mean, I basically HAD to yell "HABS SUCK" at the top of my lungs the entire game. Only time I stop doing that is when I'm drinking my [overly expensive] beer, taking a picture (which ends up being fairly awful, usually) or have moved on to another chant, such as "OLE, OLEOLEOLE!" I like balcony seating. I really do. Stick me in 303, 304, 305 up top there and I'd be happier than a pig in shit. I've watched the Celtics, Bruins and even the legendary NKOTB from the balcony. It's pissah. Really, it is. Sometimes there are people smoking in the bathrooms, sometimes when it's a concert, they smoke in the seats, which is gross, not to mention against several rules... I always happen to exit the doors of the Garden without my voice. There is something about beers and yelling that really work for me. If only I could afford seasons tickets, I'd be quieter most of the time. I went to the old Garden, in the beforetime, probably once. I have practically no recollection of what it was like. My dad said it was 'nice' but he was also in the middle of being overwhelmed by the crowds at a Bruins game last year. Here are the things you should know before you go: Event parking is always stupidly expensive : $25 to park in the garden's lot, and pretty much the same price everywhere else The Garden's parking lot closes at 1am, park accordingly If you want to buy beers at $8.75/cup then bring proper ID, not sure what that is? 'To purchase alcoholic beverages, a patron must present a valid MA driver's license, MA liquor ID, passport or military ID, which indicates the patron to be a least 21 years of age (MA ID cards, duplicate licenses, expired licenses, damaged licenses and driver's licenses, which do not have photos, will not be accepted). This is easily one of the least impressive arenas I've been in. The food choices are bleak. I was here for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, so I spent an entire day at the arena and ate nothing. Junk food, junk food, junk food. Not even a SEMI-healthy choice. It's like they WANT people to smuggle food in (which most people were doing..because, you know, not everyone wants a hot dog and candy). I got denied a Blue Moon because they don't accept out-of-state licenses if you're under 25. Are you serious? Take my money! I can't have food and now I can't have a beer. Not cool. And don't even get me started on those ugly yellow seats. :) read more

I was at the Fleet Center/Banknorth/whatever for the Walking with Dinosaurs show recently.. sooooo this review might be a little skewed. As far as dinosaur viewing goes.. my seats in the 2nd balcony were FANTASTIC for what I paid ($15 through Goldstar). As for actual people viewing (like a b-ball game), I'm not sure. The place is pretty dang accessible since it's right next to North Station and the commuter rail. The seats are sort of close and I felt like I was mini roundhouse kicking the person below me, but oops oh well I don't think I did. Unless they just kept taking it. The food is expensive but that's expected. My bag didn't get searched, but I guess I couldn't really attack or do anything to the dinosaurs unless I had some ginormous Looney Tunes dynamite and a grappling hook. If I came for a concert, I'd probably only go if I was on the floor. Games, I'd probably go as far as the 1st balcony because where I was sitting for dinos might be just a little too far for my taste. I'm gonna shell out a 4th star though. Bruins = 5 stars! AWESOME! Green Day = A KAJILLION BILLION MILLION INIFINITE STARS!!! The Garden = Mehhhhh 3 stars?! $4 for a bottled water really? Talk about crazy mark up! The gates/sections/seatings aren't exactly easy to figure out. The staff, pretty useless. I think Green Day scared the shit out of the security though when they told the audience to come up to the stage and get more people into the standing audience. My friend and I tried to get down to the floor from where we were but were stopped by security as we got to the floor in our section. Oh well, worth a shot, but still the Green Day concert was AMAZING!!!! Watching the Bruins game - cold but fun! Would love to do it all over again if I can afford it. Maybe next up, the Celtics? The Blazers? It's interesting how they use one facility throughout the year. read more

Great venue to watch the Celtics! Be warned, no backpacks allowed. Being the tourist that leaves early in the morning and doesn't return until late, I carry everything on my back. Having said that, I was nervous that I wouldn't get to go in but they let me store it in their security office. Looked like I wasn't the only one that carries everything with me from dawn 'til dusk; there was a line of 10+ tourists waiting to claim their backpacks at the end of the game. Boston is such a walkable city that it was a cinch to get here via foot. Easy to get here and to get out. read more

Good to know No bag means really no bag. Super unfriendly to students. I went to Bruins game after the class. It means I have lots of books but Banknorth Garden does not allow us to bring it. I know it is for the safety but please provide us either locker or bag check in. Anyway they don't have anything for bag. Then I went to bar to leave my bag. It was $5. I don't care about the views and the seats. It's a stadium and you get what you pay for with seats and pay up the ass for food and beer. When I've come for wrestling or concerts it has been fine. My issue here is with the security. In no way do I have an issue with bag searching and all the post 9/11 hubbub, but when I came here for the Garth Brooks concert in January I was on crutches with a leg injury. I was told by one security guard I couldn't stand in the lobby where the train schedules are. Ok? When it was over, I stayed in my seat to let the massive lines that flow down the stairs after an event dissipate. I was told by another security guard I had to leave immediately. There were still dozens of other people still in their seats as well. If you're going to send a person on crutches down a flight of stairs in a mob of 15,000 people and something happens, expect a lawsuit. I've heard lots of horror stories here over the years regarding security and lawsuits filed. I'm not surprised to hear them anymore. If someone from the TD Garden actually reads these, your officers need to be retrained to handle the most basic situations. read more

The game experience isn't that bad, it's just everything else. Prices keep going up, seats got smaller, parking garage people are morons, which is a nicer way of saying what I mean. Paperless tickets seems to be a learning process still. Stay home, save the money and hassle and spill all the $3 beers on yourself on the couch instead. This place is the best to go check out a concert or sports game. It takes me five minutes to get there via the "T" and it is located right next to the North End. We have season tickets for the Celtics. Our seats rock! There are no bad views of the court at all! The lines are never too long and getting in and out is simple. You literally walk into North Station on your way outside from the stadium. During the concerts they set out chairs on the floor and you would be surprised how much it transforms. Another situation where you won't get a bad seat in the house. The aisles are large and there is plenty of security to guide you and make sure people stay in check so it is enjoyable. We recently saw Tom Petty and it was amazing!! We were so close and it was just a chill concert-sounded like you were listening to the CD. My only complaint is how expensive the wine is, but I learned to just down a glass or two before I head out there and it's all good. To make up for this, at least the bathrooms are super clean! read more

They've made massive improvements to the Garden's food options. The best spot hands down is "Marketplace" which is on the wall side of the stadium. They have mac n cheese, "fancy" Nachos, roast beef sandwiches, and generally fresher options than the packaged popcorn/nachos/candy options. Seating is great at the Garden for games too. It's built pretty low to the ground so that you feel like you're closer to the action, and I've never had any problems with the guy in front of me blocking my view. read more

The TD Garden (TD Banknorth Garden / FleetCenter / Shawmut Center before it even opened) is Boston's major indoor sports venue, and it does some things really well. Other things, not so much. Here's what it does well: Sight lines: There really isn't a bad seat in the house for basketball or hockey. In fact, the balcony seats are often better for hockey, since you can see the entire ice and watch plays develop. The seats are aligned rather steeply, but this means you've got a better angle on the action. And there are cup holders! Getting out: There are huge, wide open stairways that quickly and efficiently dump 18,000 sports fans into the dark night with the sound of horns honking and dudes drumming on buckets ringing in their ears. It's much easier than getting out of, say, Fenway Park. However, there are some things they don't do well. Security: They haven't yet followed Fenway Park's lead of allowing even small bags in upon inspection. What are people who come straight from work or on public transportation supposed to do? And, their security and ticket-taking staff isn't nearly as nice and friendly as those at Fenway Park. You can do your job of providing a safe and secure venue without making patrons feel like potential criminals. (I compare to Fenway because, growing up in MA, I remember when Fenway was surly and burly, and they've evolved to the point where it's very pleasant to interact with the staff and enjoy the ballgame. Not so the "Garden".) Restrooms: There aren't nearly enough urinals. If you're going to a hockey game, and you don't want to be that guy who gets up in the middle of a period, you will have to wait almost until the start of the next period to get into the restroom and go. I half-jokingly said to my friend that they should put up porta-johns or even troughs outside in the hallway. If you're selling beer, then people will need to go to the bathroom. Make it so they can get back to their seats by the beginning of the next period / the end of halftime at a basketball game! All told, it's cleaner and way nicer than the old Garden, and only recently has it started to get as loud. Though, fifteen years after opening, I think the above are still some kinks that they could iron out. It's a fine venue for a game, but it's not as good as it probably *could* be. read more

Oh the Garden. Not to be confused with The Garden, which was torn down. As much as I love attending sporting events here and enjoy the teams that play in the building, I can't give the actual TD Garden more than 3 stars. This place gets points for good sightlines from almost every seat (big points!), having decent concession, being conveniently accessible from most of the city via public transportation, and not being a run down dump. However, it loses points for being terribly expensive for most events, being another generic mid-90s era arena, and being hard to navigate between levels within the building. All in all, you'll have fun when attending an event here, but it won't be because of the venue. read more

They even ruined the Premium Seats!!! I can only go to one or two Bruins game a year. When I do go, I spring for premium club seats. I have read about how they've stuffed in extra seats but didn't think they'd mess with the super high priced seats. They did!!! I'm 6 feet, 220.. big but not huge. In the seats that cost me $350 a piece, I literally had to go watch the game on a TV. Crazy!!! I can't believe they'd slap there high paying customers in the face. read more

The Garden is an awesome venue for a concert! We just saw Katy Perry and while our seats were awesome, it looked like none of the seats would have been bad. The service at the kiosks was quick and the bathrooms were very clean. There are also plenty of staff available to help you find your seat. They also handled it when people were mistakenly in our ticketed seats. read more

Pros: My favorite teams play there. Very easy to take the T to the game. Vast food and drink options. Cons: It is absolute hell to drive in and park under the garden. The attendant makes you pay and gives you a ticket, then has you drive 20 feet to the gate that dispenses tickets where another man asks you to pay again. You tell him you just paid and show him ticket number 1. he then lets you in to the 5 floors of cuthroat parking abyss. After all of that they do not just open the gates on the way out. They make you show your tickets and pay another dude to sit and man the gate. Oh and absolutely no Wi-Fi once you enter so you definitely need to know where other members of your party are/are parking before you get there. Makes absolutely no sense that they don't operate like the hundreds of other city parking garages. read more

5/26/2012. Boston vs. Philly. Game 7. While watching my beloved Celtics lose game 6 from a bar in Brooklyn, it became apparent what the first destination after my flight out to Boston the next morning was going to be: The Garden. I checked for the press release noting what time tickets would be released and figured out the timing would be perfect. Once I got to the box office, I held my breath and inquired about availability and more importantly, pricing: $160/ticket. For a game 7 in the playoffs? A steal if you ask me! On game day I caught a ride with folks that found street parking, but TD Garden is very accessible by train. There are also many lots nearby, although they are a little expensive. The proshop here is fantastic, well run, and got a lot of my money. ;) Our seats ended up being pretty darn good - thank you, box office gentleman! They were at the end of a row in loge 19. And although the crowd was certainly "festive," no one was out of hand rowdy or disgusting. It was so much fun to be around fellow Celtics fans, who are certainly some of the best in sports (I am unashamed in my bias). Amazing, incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. #iamaceltic read more

Writing just as a PSA to a lot of people out there: They do NOT accept mobile versions of StubHub tickets at the entrances. We got turned away after we passed security, told to head back the other way and downstairs to the box office to have them print out tickets for us. Great, navigating backwards through the influx of traffic that is going towards the entrance. Good idea. So we get to the box office and they tell us they don't support StubHub tickets. Understandable, sure...but they send us across the street to some dingy print shop to literally print the tickets on a printer. That shop charged $10 to do so. Obviously banking on the fact that nobody is going to deny $10 when it comes to printing $60+ tickets. I can sort of get on board with not accepting StubHub tickets. But why would you send us to the box office to "print the tickets" when the box office is just going to send us across the street anyway? Wasted 20 minutes doing all this. It's quite shocking how in this day and age they don't accept mobile tickets. I fully expected, as many venues do, to have them scan my ticket on my phone and then print out a little receipt as a hardcopy ticket so that you you can navigate to your seat (AT&T park style, TYVM). But to be given this cat and mouse game of trying to find out how to get into the stupid venue was ridiculous. Boston...sorry, California owns you guys when it comes to streamlining this process. It's 2016. Get it together. read more

Finally had the opportunity to watch a Celtics game from TD Garden as opposed to the Staples Center where I usually have to wait until they play either the Lakers or the Clippers. I must say, the crowd at the Timberwolves v. Celtics game was much more friendlier than the people I've experienced at the Staples Center. Only downside was that KG didn't play!!!! It's not the real Garden, but that's not all bad. The TD Garden doesn't yet have the majesty of the old spot, but aside from that insurmountable shortcoming, there isn't much to complain about here. Like everyone else has posted, the concession prices and the security are probably the two worst things here. The concessions are nothing exciting and at the high-end even for a stadium. It's ok if you want to charge me $16 for a bite and a beer, but I'd love to have a choice beyond "nachos or a hot dog?". The security issue is not one I take up with the staff themselves. They are professional and polite enough while being efficient and thorough. That's what security is supposed to be. I get patted down 90% of the time and you know what? I'm one of the good guys so I don't sweat it. I'll let you feel me up for 10 seconds if you're guaranteeing my safety. The only legitimate complaint I can see here is the restricted items list. If you're wondering if you can bring something to the Garden, the answer is almost definitely "no" unless you're bringing the clothes on your back, your ticket, and your wallet or purse. I can understand how this would disrupt the plans of some attendees, but I know the policies ahead of time and do my best to obey them. What's great about the Garden are the seats. There are, to quote Dean Wormer, "Zero-point-zero" bad seats here. I've had seats that are literally in the last row and I've had seats so close that I swear I could smell Shaq, and you get what you pay for. While the TD Garden hasn't yet reach the state of dilapidation that we in Boston like our stadiums to be in, it's headed in that direction. For now, I really, really like the Garden. The Good ol Garden...... How can you not like the Garden, being a Boston Resident for the past 26 years (whole life), as well as being a huge Celtics fan (yes even during the awkward Dominique Wilkins years). The Garden is a great place to watch a game, There aren't any really bad seats. Like any sports arena prepare to pay through the ass for any type of refreshment. I recommend hitting The King of Half Time Pizza for cheap beer pregaming. I saw the Celts beat up on the Bobcats here and it was a great time. read more

Although I have been a Bruins fan for a very long time, last night was my first home game in many years. As much as a real fan misses the old Garden, I have to say that TD Garden is a good place to cartch a game. The Ticket Exchange is the best compromise between the unbelievably high normal ticket prices and risking it on the street. I scored a seat in section 10, 13 rows above the ice overlooking the Bruins offensive end. The lower sections are easy to navigate, and of course i had a great view of the action. The concessions are pretty good for an arena. Besides the usual stadium favorites, you will find lobster roils, a carvery, and spicy sausage. There are enough stands to keep the lines at a reasonable level between periods. I wanted to pick up a souvenir, but short of the really expensive jerseys the offerings were not great. I walked to the arena from Salem Street in the North End, and was pleasantly surprised by the bars and restaurants that have opened near the arena. The Boston Beer Works has a location there, although I will always remain faithful to the Fenway Park location. Getting in and out of the Garden is straightforward, and even navigating through North Station was pretty easy. What's not to love about Boston fans, so the atmosphere in the place was great (of course, beating the @&*%^ out of the Sabres certainly helped). My more recent experience with NHL games was in Dallas - also a nice arena but just not the same kind of fan. Overall, the Garden is great for die-hard and casual fans alike. read more

TD Garden...Where do I start? Well this past Saturday night me and the girlfriend happen to be in Boston. Pretty normal for weekends for us these days. We saw a sign and found out the Circus was in town! (Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Circus) So we went to the garden and got tickets! As far as it's location its pretty nice. You can get here EASY right from North Station! (Both Green and Orange line). Also make note that if you drive The TD Garden doesn't own or operate any local parking facilities. However, the MBTA Garage, a 1,150 space-parking garage, is located directly underneath the TD Garden and is accessible via Nashua Street. Elevators located in the parking garage will bring you directly to the main concourse in North Station. I don't know what the parking rates are but you can give them a call directly at (617) 222-3042 for more information. Buying tickets was EASY! We figured out we wanted to go the day OF The show. So we took the Boston T there and went to the BosTix booth first in Copley. They wanted $25 a ticket. We also figured we had all day to we went to the TD Garden box office to see if they had a better price for us and they did! We got seats for $21.50 per ticket WITHOUT a processing fee. The show was about 2 hours and 45 minutes long. We differently got our monies worth that night. The seats we got where awesome! Based on the price we thought maybe the seats would be iffy. But they are not. The seating in the Garden was so great. You could see from any where! So it really was a GREAT value for what we paid. Tickets ranged from $18-$80. just to give you an idea. The staff at TD Garden was great! From the box office all the way to the security staff. Ushers helped us to our seats. They made sure we knew where to go. No complaints here at all! The food prices are a little pricey. We skipped out on eating here. $12 for cotton candy?...a little much in our book. I mean $5-$6 would have been expected. I know food is where they make most of their money but really? Come on! This was also the circus's fault as well. Not just the Garden's. We get that. Still it's a complaint in my book. TIPS: Buy tickets AT the Garden or BosTix! Whatever us cheapest. No Processing fee if you buy them in person. (Save your self the $8-$12 a ticket!) Eat before or after the show. The food can be a little bit on the pricey side. Take the Boston T in for easy access. Even if this means parking a few stops away. Stay for a few minutes after the show. Or you will be getting into a crowded T/Garage. (Maybe have dinner some where outside?) Seats don't seem to matter to much. You can see from anywhere! So with all of that said it was FUN to visit the Garden! We will be going back for a hockey game later this year. I will again be going to buy the tickets in person to save some cash! Besides we are in Boston so much so its not out of our way! otherwise you can get tickets online from Ticketmaster or even directly from their site. Do whats best for you! Great great 4/5! Got off to a bad start. No passport=no wine..@ 52... My wife was thrilled. The venue is big, the service was ordinary, the food looked terrible. After eventually persuading someone my licence was not a forgery got 2 plastic cups of crap wine for 25 $ US. And the bruins lost. Expensive seats, crap service and a loss. Not Boston's best attraction. read more

Not too happy with the way they treated my child who was sold fraudulent tickets from Vivid Seats for Harry Styles. She was sent down to ticket office and was treated very poorly and basically pushed away because it wasn't their problem. Great customer service! How about a little compassion for the kids that got scammed by Vivid Seats instead of being told it's not their problem and being incredibly rude to kids. read more

They really ought to renovate or re-purpose the AT&T Sportsdeck at the Garden. Good view of the ice (I went to a Bruins game the other night) and having the bar/tabletop in front of you is great. But the seats were worn out and uncomfortable 2 of the 3 little TVs near us were broken; the food was really lame (is there anything worse than cold french fries?); and the waitress was bitchy all night. Continue to hit the Garden and support the Bs, but spend your money elsewhere...the AT&T Sportsdeck needs a serious makeover or it needs to go away. read more

I just wanted to share with you a story about a special friend I met during last night's Bruins v Toronto game. The bathrooms are bustling, I'm washing my hands. There is a woman next to me clearly having a problem with using the sink. Maybe it's broken? She turns to me and I lock eyes on her for but a moment. She's my height. Wearing pink. Has blonde hair, but not just any blonde hair. Platinum blonde wig with crispy curls and a bright pink strip carefully placed parted across tanned forehead. It takes a moment to realize, this is not just a ordinary woman. "I just can't figure this out" she cries. "Umm..you have to push the top down like this" i advise. "Oh thank you! It's just so confusing, I thought it was one of those automatic ones." "Yeah ... there are a lot of faucets these days," i agree. "I just get so confused, like at the market," she protests. "Like that screen, you know, that reads 'credit or debit,' and I just don't know the difference!" "Yeah ... that can be confusing," i submit. Following hand wetting, there is always hand drying. So, I head to the paper towel, and my new pet follows. She stands in front of the paper towel dispenser obviously in drugged distress. I say, "oh, just grab this piece and then pull it away from the dispenser when you get the amount you want." "Wow! She responds. Thank you! You know what?" she continues. "You're like magic!! Very boring generic look to this Boston cathedrale but home to legendary clubs: the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. And now home to the Boston Blazers lacrosse team in it's 3rd season. I have season tix to the Celts and Blazers and as generic of a building as it is, I love it. It's home. read more

We were lucky to get 6 tickets to a suite at TD Garden for a Celtics playoff game last month. What a great experience. We got these tickets through my wife's work. It was a Sunday 6 pm game so driving and parking there were a breeze. The suite holds around 25 people and the food is bought by who ever paid for the suite. Ours had a great selection of pizza, wings , chili cheese dogs, chips dips , popcorn beer and wine. You can see great from the seats in front of the sky box and also the TV monitors provided.I told the kids dont get use to it as this was a once in a life time experience, being able to get these sky box tickets. We all had an awesome time and the Celtics even won in overtime. A great game where each person received a Celtic playoff tee shirt. read more

I was at the Garden last weekend for the Frozen Four. I've been there twice before for Bruins games. I think the sight lines for hockey at the Garden are among the best that I've seen in the North East. It's very similar to Wells Fargo Center or Consol in PA in terms of sight lines. The cons...parking is awful, take the train if you can. Also the seats are so incredibly tiny. They are deff smaller than the seats in Philly or Pitt. Also the facilities in the upper bowl leaf a lot to be desired. The lower bowl is stunning and well planned out, the upper bowl looks like it hasn't seen a coat of paint since they opened the place. If you can afford to sit downstairs, you deff should. The upper bowl leaves a lot to be desired in terms of comforts, but if you want to watch a Bruins game at home you don't have any other options. read more
