Well seriously, I have almost NEVER posted any reviews; however, after today I just had to! I had issues with new tv and no audio.. called BendBroadband, and the phone rep spent about 20 minutes trying to assess/correct the issue remotely, but when it didn't work, he said scheduling a tech to come out to my house. Holy crap! 25 minutes later doorbell rang, and he came in, tested, then replaced my box, and set it up. I still can't believe the awesome customer service. read more

In addition to frequent unexplained outages of both television and internet I have one more word of warning: Do not end your service with a credit on your account unless you want to wait 60+ days for a refund check. They won't credit what ever payment method your use; it has to be a check. After getting several conflicting explanation regarding my refund, I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That got results, I got a phone call, but I still haven't gotten my refund. I hope hey treat their employees better than they treat long time customers. read more

First of all our internet is horrible! We can not even load web pages! Bend broadband does a "test" and says your internet is fine, there is no issue but up-sells us more mbps. After this we still can not load ANYTHING! Or watch Netflix! We call time after time (at least five times) and wait on hold, the first time 45 minutes then an hour then 50 minutes then 1:15 and the last time one hour (this does not include the numerous times I called and hung up After 30-45 minutes). They sent someone out FINALLY!! And it was the 10 year old modem which we were charged for to replace! I work from home and had to miss 2.5 days of work because they ignored the problem! Was told my job was in jeopardy! A week later the internet went out again! Was told it was a wide spread issue. Bend broadband said they would call back when it was fixed. Two days later it was fixed but no call. Had to go to a friends house who has century link to work for two days. Now our cable box is so loud we can't even hear our tv over it! We literally woke up in the middle of the night, in the room across our house because we thought a dog was barking! It was the cable box! When we call and wait on hold for an hour they said it's normal??? Not sure how that is cause I have never experienced this before... anyway, to sum it up, our first year was great... but rates increased after month 12 and nothing but issues happened since. This would be fine if we could get help, or a call back or even an apology but we have encountered nothing but resistance, rejection and even blame... We are not asking for a monetary refund, we just would like modern working equipment and a more efficient way of asking for it. read more

For the privilege of paying them $55/month for Internet service (nothing more), my connection drops at least once an hour for some minutes. Customer Service is polite and tries its best, but it does no good so I've stopped complaining to them. The only alternative, CenturyLink, seems no better. read more

There's a long list of negative reviews for good reason. Ignore the single star rating I gave. Bendbroadband deserves a big fat zero! I was a customer for thirty years and always paid my bill on time. They claim to be the local dog, but they're not. Since Bendbroadband was purchased by a large corporation, they've provided the absolute worst customer service I've experienced. They made a series of mistakes (none that were my fault.) For example, my service was supposed to be suspended for three months last summer as I've done for several years. They neglected to do it. When I returned, I discovered that my service was disconnected and my account was turned over to the collections department. Despite getting overcharged, I reluctantly paid my bill in full BEFORE the deadline. But my information was submitted to all three credit bureaus anyway. Bendbroadband finally apologized for their mistake and claimed it was because they changed their billing process during that time. I spoke with several supervisors that consistently interrupted me. I wasn't allowed to finish a sentence. All employees that I came in contact with were rude and disrespectful. They forgot that it's loyal customers like me that pay their wages. BUYER BEWARE! I would not recommend Bendbroadband. Not ever, not at any time, and not for any purpose whatsoever. At the present time I have DirectTV and so far I'm very satisfied with their service. Bendbroadband's incompetence damaged my excellent credit score. I'm pursuing a lawsuit. Also, I've persuaded nine other loyal customers to cancel Bendbroadband. And there will be more. BendBroadband currently does not allow people to use connection equipment that is not supplied by them, a policy that has merits when considering a way to keep the service running smoothly. What they have concocted as an alternative is a complete rip off; you must rent their equipment they will not sell it to you. So one year into my service I have paid $500 in rental fees for equipment that should not cost that much. Another year of this and I am at $1000 in rental fees. This should not happen. read more

Quit the internet because I was so frustrated with outages and the awful wait for tech help on the phone. Now same complaints with Tv. I have actaully been on hold for 1 to 1and 1/2 hours every time I call for assistance. Put a request on their website for repair help , waiting almost three days and still no reply to the request. Finally got hold of someone after on hold today for almost an hour and 45 minutes , thier cable box was dead again, and I was told I could drive to Bend and pick one up (I am older and don't drive much) or I can wait for two more days to have a tech come out with the new box. Hold times for the next available adviser for tech support is ridiculous!! Every time I call I am on hold for over 30 - 40 minutes before a tech person picks up. Once upon a time you could leave your phone # and have the tech support call you back. So here I am HOLDING AGAIN at 7:00 AM because my internet is super slow. Easy to sign up and installation went as scheduled and smoothly. We only have purchased internet service and so far it works as advertised! Update January 2017: Bend Broadband has upgraded their system for speed at least twice since we subscribed and it all works great. I am a unhappy business customer with them. I just called to try and change my plan an in doing so you have start a new contract at that time. I'm disappointed that any small change you do to your account requires you to start a new contract at that time. It is not enough that your extremely over charging your customers for this but you have a loop hole in order to keep customers even if they are unhappy with the services they are paying for. Also, the customer service reps really need some training in dealing with customers issues especially when its the customers hard earned money that's paying for this. Bend Broadband doesn't even deserve one star. This is the most horrible company I have ever dealt with. Every single month I have to call customer service because they have these $10 or $20 mystery charges that are never explained to me in my bill. I usually spend about 30 -45 minutes on the phone with customer service complaining about these charges and how ridiculous it is that I'm spending $80+ a month on Internet for my home and they ALWAYS try to upsell me at the end of the call. I'm already calling complaining about their poor and expensive service, why do you think I would EVER want to give you more of my money?! Worst company ever! We had Internet and T.V. installed at a new home we purchased in their service area. What can I say. These guys make Xfinity/Comcast look good! Not only is the transmission for our T.V. iffy, but the internet goes down randomly. Since the home is a vacation home, we only use this service every other week. But, when we do want to use it, it should be reliable. When we arrive, my wife likes to turn on the T.V.. Most of the time, the picture does not even come on. Instead a blank screen with a random message appears - something like "Sorry, HDMI not authorized". Not authorized? Huh? To add to the fun, their office staff needs training to say the least. But, to their credit, they were very friendly. It took about an hour for them to set up the account including online auto-pay. 5 months in, even though every bill has been paid, they show the account is past due. Funny, since it's on auto-pay. We are going to have to do some detective work and ask neighbors what service they use or just go old school and ditch T.V., and internet - maybe take more hikes and read more books. I'm afraid that the internet service they have provided for the last two years has been dismal. Speeds are typically very slow and service often goes down for days at a time. Recently, it was down for more than two weeks. I am willing to grant that where I live in Powell Butte may be a large part of the problem-- at least that is what we've been told by BendBroadband. Repeated calls and emails begging for help have gone completely ignored. No one even bothers to answer my requests for help. Frustrating. read more

the service is just ok... but they get 4 stars for not being comcast. updated: frankly at this point I would prefer comcast, at least they delivered the service they sell. I currently have 300MBs service. My download speeds are typically between 100-200MBs. the only thing consistent are my upload speeds 10MBs. I have complained numerous tiems about not getting what I am paying for and it's falling on deaf ears. BendBroadBand internet might just be worse than comcast. As somebody who has used both, I recognize deceitful throttling of internet speeds when I see it. Horribly inconsistent internet and just all around terrible service. I would say don't get it if you live in Bend, however the only other primary option is Century Link which would put you in the same terrible situation. "Pay for 20mb download speed, never get more than 5" is a more accurate slogan than "we're the local dog". read more

Worst internet ever. I pay for 100/50 and get 1-3 at night. They know it's an issue, you call in and they say they are sorry and they have no ETA for a fix. The last time I called to ask if they had an ETA for my area to get a node upgrade they told me to just downgrade my service because I was never going to get anywhere close to the speeds I pay for. First off I have a low credit score. I was excited to get my service started as I just moved to bend so I was hoping to get a cable internet package, to have local news coverage of local events, and try to keep up on election topics. The company required a deposit which I refused to pay due to being with Comcast for years off and on and never had to pay a deposit. When they sent the inaccurate credit score that was 41points under my actual score as the reason for requiring a deposit I knew I would not ever have anything positive to say about them. This is ridiculous. Just bought a house in Sunriver and BBB is our only choice?? Isn't that called a Monopoly?? Signed up for their Triple Play. The installer didn't leave the WiFi password after installing (we weren't there for the install). I called and they said it is the "Pre-Shared Key" on the back of the modem. Um, no it isn't. Yes I know its Case Sensitive and zeros might be O's. There are no zero's or O's. Called no less than 10 time, only to hang up after 30-45 minutes of holding. Have only spoken to one person who told me about the "Pre-Shared Key" and when I told him it didn't work, he transferred me and I haven't spoken to another human since. I bet I've wasted 6-8 hours holding on the phone. All I want is the WiFi password so that short-term renters can access the internet while vacationing. I even call right at the time the "open" hoping to get through. Nothing. No support AT ALL!! How does a company like this stay in business??? Oh yeah, its easy to stay in business with the worst support and customer service when everyone is forced to use you. Please, Please, some other company needs to come in and take over. Comcast?? Haven't read this post before, but doesn't mean this hasn't happened before. Was told that if I got a phone with them, it would abolish the install service. Not true, even though the phone never worked for over a week.Then the installer TOOK/STOLE my personal modem that worked PERFECTLY. They were going to charge me $8 a month for the "new" modem. (I was working there when these modems were actually new) When I called in to complain about the theft, they blew me off, claiming they couldn't find it, or they refurbished it or there wasn't anything they could do about it. I had to wait 2 weeks for installation. Between 8 and five they said. At fifteen to five the installer calls and says the original guy can't make it can I schedule for another day? Wow. Definitely, no. I don't know how long "another day" is. Not one of the set top boxes worked when I installed them, even when a tech sent a signal to it. Even said they couldn't fix it. BTW the cheap set top does exactly the same as the next box up. Don't waste your money. Was told how our up/downloads have increased. I can't tell the difference. My "free" installation cost about $300, with the pro rating, late fees, because I moved and the billing date changed, and the new rates. This does not include the modem theft. Hey Bendbroadbutt, get a clue, it's not ok to steal, and doesn't all these bad reviews tell you something? And quit claiming you're LOCAL when support is Wisconsin or the Caribbean. And just so you know, I have ANOTHER MODEM which I also bought when I worked there. I think I'll put in a police report and talk to an attorney. When the company was locally owned we really loved BB. Their service was great. Since being purchased by an out of state company they have consistently gone down hill! Last week we had a billing issue and when we called we were on hold for over 30 minutes before someone finally answered. Then she couldn't help us and we were put back on hold for another 20 minutes! The next day we called again about another issue and I was on hold for 50 minutes and no one ever answered the phone!!! I tried reaching out to them through their facebook page but again, no one ever answered my message! I ended up getting in the car and driving over to their building and my issue was taken care of in less than 10 minutes. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO WAIT ON THE PHONE TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE! I told the lady at BB's office what had happened and she said, "Oh, our phone system has been having issues." She never said she was sorry that I had to waste almost an hour trying to reach them! We have a bundled package of internet, phone and TV with BB. We are now looking to leave them and go with another company. They used to call themselves the "local dog" but what they really are is a pain in the a$$! read more

There aren't many other options to this service, but if you can find one, TAKE IT! They advertise 24/7 support, but when you call the number expect to be on hold for a 30 minute minimum! And you will be calling often. Their internet is the most unreliable that I have ever used. When it is working, the speed is not nearly what they advertise.
