We cancelled our service when we moved to Washington. Our bill was already paid up but they do not prorate a refund so we lost out on that. 2 weeks later we get a bill for $3.17 so I call and they say it is a refund for taxes. Well it wasn't a refund, they actually took the money from our account. . We didn't dispute it but we should have. Now I get an email that they are gonna take another $3.17 next month. We wish we could rate 0 stars and that we never switched to TDS. We started using TDS and eventually sold our house. We ended our service and sent back their equipment, ups told us to be sure to keep the receipt showing we sent it back because they had heard stories about them saying they hadn't received the equipment and charging for it. I kept my shipping receipt just in case and sure enough they said we didn't send it back and that we owed several hundred dollars. We showed our receipt, had two tds employees tell us we had no charges and then they sent us to collections. Collections disputed the charges but tds wouldn't drop it. I signed up almost 2 years ago and I still don't have my service installed. I just called them and was told that it will be another year before I can get service. But, they did however come and dig up 2 holes on my property. One of them was up against a corner of my fencing causing it to lean now. After several calls they claimed they fixed it twice. Then I went to a town hall meeting and complained about it where they put a specialist in charge of getting it fixed. They came back and said that it wasn't their fault and that they were not liable. Installer broke two water lines to our sprinkler system, as well as caused damage to another line. Water was going into our outside vent and down into the crawl area of the house. First call to them I sat on hold for almost an hour, to them getting transferred to 4 different people, whom put in a claim and said I would get a call back that night. Never happened. I called the next morning to be on hold again for almost an hour, to then getting transferred to 3 different people. After 2 hours on the phone I was told they would send to a supervisor. That they have so many damage claims that it takes 5 days to even get a call back. This service and work is unacceptable, along with the horrible customer service. Customer service is less than one star.... If you need a new remote you need to call them and they will mail it to you....ours took about 2 weeks to get here. The system shutsdown about 2 times a day, and you the need to reboot it. The recording function is not very reliable...it might show that a program was recorded, but when you go to play it back it says not available... worst customer service ever. I discontinued TDS, talked with a representative, reviewed my final bill, they took it out on April 20. Here on May 14, they took out a monthly payment. They when I called them they said that it was because my automatic withdrawal had never been discontinued. Well, I discontinued the service. I would think that the automatic withdrawal especially because I talked to the person would've been discontinued at the same time. Did try to go online to make sure everything had taken place and I couldn't sign in because I was no longer a customer. so I called them on this last withdrawal and explain to them that that money was something I needed to buy insulin . I was told we're sorry it's our policy that you will get a refund in 60 to 90 days. And I said so even though it was your mistake it's a medical necessity that I buy my meds. I don't have the money to buy them because you made a mistake so I'm just supposed to go without my meds for 60 to 90 daysand she said we're sorry but there's nothing we can do. Very poor communication. No phone number,. When I signed up the system said they would send me an email and someone would call. Nothing happened. After a week I visited the TDS store and was told the system would not go live until Oct, which is OK with me, just that there was no communication. Looking forward to seeing how well this works. I never write reviews but this place is so bad i just have too. Got service set up 1yr ago Tech was great. The speeds never = to what they claim I called many times but they just blame my equipment. Price was creeping up and another provider made better offer. I switched and canceled my service and was told i need to turn in my equipment Nope i own my stuff and they should have known that. Then i get a bill for way more then my normal service. I call and there billing dept is useless after 30min i just contact my credit card corp and denied charges and i won that judgment. They come back month later and say woops we made mistake and here is the new bill. Mind you the bills dont show what date the service was for and i still dont know but im not going to hassle with this anymore just cut a check. Well they cash the check and charge my credit card. I call the billing and all i get is you have a 0 balance no i have credit of $88 caue you charge 2x. needless to say they did nothing but put me on hold forever. I submited new dispute. Go to the BBB and look at all the complaints 99% are just like mine when you try to cancel service they pull this crap. read more

They delayed for 4 months because they were waiting for ground to thaw sure ok whatever appointment comes around no call no show. I would advise anyone not to use this company for their wi-fi/internet service. I paid $25 three years ago to get "a good deal in our neighborhood" but the company was not ready for the actual installment. I called many times to inquire and they would say "Any time now". I requested the deposit back and they refused. Three years later, someone knocks on our door ready to install the equipment/wires, etc. I told the installer I didn't want to use them and to cancel us. I called TDS and canceled as well, the same day. Fast forward 3 months later and I'm getting letters from TDS saying I am their customer, when the installation would take place, etc. I called once again and was on hold for over 2 hours. So, with the company on hold, I had to drive to the Coeur D'Alene office with phone in hand (still waiting) and canceled that way. What kind of company is this??? TDS is horrible. Our service has been spotty at best since Comcast started putting in there services. We have called and they just tell me they are doing there best to get it restored. This is 2 or 3 times a week. I called to cancel service and they cut my service early and I asked them for a credit and they would not do anything. Horrible service and horrible customer service. TDS is installing fiber in our city and has been tunneling under the roads and sidewalks in our neighborhood to bury the lines. During this process, they broke our underground septic line that is under a street in our neighborhood. We were contacted by the the local wastewater company, notified that it was our line that was broken and told that TDS would take care of it. Our septic overflow has been coming directly out of the TDS pedestal and spilling onto the neighborhood street and sidewalk. They have known about this issue for several weeks now and have been trying to blame the other local internet provider (although it is abundantly clear that the break in the line happened when their contractors drilled under the street). Although they have known for several weeks now that our septic overflow is spilling out into the road via their pedestal, they have stopped communicating with us about repair of the problem. I was told on 7/26/23 that it would be fixed on 7/28/23. It is now 8/3 and the pipe has not been repaired nor have we received any communication. After several calls today, we were told that they feel they are not responsible. THIS IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL MATTER and they would like to ignore it, hoping that it will just go away. read more

I am going to start this review by saying I have never left a negative review for a company before. After my experience with TDS and there drill team Tak West Shore I felt that is was necessary to let people know my experience before they consider hiring this company. TDS/TWS began drilling in my neighborhood last year to run fiber internet to multiple homes. They used our yard and driveway as their main drilling site. For a little context I had just arrived home from a surgical procedure to a crew drilling in front of my home and utilizing my driveway. I did approach the team with a concern about my vehicle in my driveway they were parked behind. The crew assured me my vehicle was safe and not to move it due to the fact their truck and drilling equipment were blocking me in and utilizing my extra parking spots. I went in my home and after a few loud vibrations and what sounded like bangs I went outside to check on the crew. I walked out side and saw right away what had happened. The crew was drilling directly under and against our concrete driveway slab and hit it several times. Parked on that driveway is a vehicle that I have spent countless hours and time restoring and building as a hobby and for car shows. In the front of our home we have a large log sign that is marked with our family name and street address. It has been there for several years without a single problem through storms and inclimate weather. This sign was lying across the front of my vehicle where it had been knocked over due to the drilling team hitting my driveway with there equipment. I immediately approached the team and told them what had happened and they apologized admitted fault and helped me move the sign off my vehicle. The vehicle now has a crushed bumper broken headlight and the paint is destroyed. This accident kicked off over a year of phone calls and run around from the company. They where unprofessional, argumentative and through the process tried every way to deny any fault. The final solution they came up with would be to send me a check for roughly 30% of the damage to my vehicle. I was also told that this is it and that's all I will see. The person I dealt with at the end was named Steve. Steve was very hard to work with in any fashion and accused me several times of not working with them and providing quotes. I had called over 17 paint and auto body companies with questions and quotes and many would offer none due to the age of the vehicle. The final person I spoke with was at a local Maaco that Steve had spoken to. There was a major miscommunication and Steve's company that he chose to get a quote from for the damage from told me it would $12-13k just to paint my vehicle properly. This is the step I am now on and paying out of pocket for the rest. I highly suggest considering this review before hiring them. read more

I would absolutely not recommend this internet service to anybody. They're customer service is such a joke. I gave them our early registration fee of $25 2 and a 1/2 years ago, and I have called 5 times trying to get it refunded because they told me that my neighborhood will never receive this internet. I finally had to demand to ask for a supervisor who then told me that I was trying to fraud my husband's account Simply because I was the one who called. I had my husband conveniently on hand to prove that I was not impersonating him, the supervisor Proceeded in calling me a liar multiple times. She even tried To cancel the account where we wouldn't get the $25. She was extremely unprofessional. I had stated that I was calling on my husband's behalf Multiple times. Seeing all the reviews on Better Business Bureau, Google and on Yelp. I am one hundred percent happy that I did not make the official switch to this pathetic company. They seemed surprised when I call and complain about getting 1/4 of the speed I should be getting hooked up to the router with cat 6 cable. When we finally received our service nearly 8 months later (and damaged our sprinkler lines in the process), the internet performance was so bad we cancelled after two weeks of trying to make it work. Is the product better than anything else provided in the area, yes technically speaking hands down. Is the development going as planned, maybe not and maybe needs some work in the customer service department. However with all that said, once the install started the techs were professional and efficient. I had a horrible experience in the start and came and left my initial review, but after the BS was over and we got the project done they earned some trust back and well the speeds are very nice. read more
