Four Seasons Milk Tea was a bit light on the floral taste, but I loved the Osmanthus Milk Tea since the floral taste was stronger. They have a wide selection of drinks and are super welcoming to customers! I've also come in to study & do work. Tables are pretty small and there's limited spots with access to outlets but was able to snag seats both times that I've come by to do work. Coconut mango was nice and refreshing, with coconut pudding and lil bits of grapefruit for texture and a pop of bitter/citrus. The rice mochi taro milk tea was chock full of toppings, and took awhile to stir up and loosen with the milk tea. It was very good but very filling and thick. We ordered both as 25% sweetness and found that to be perfect. I think they do less sweet, more natural flavors at baseline. Definitely making things to order. At $8-9 a drinks it's the higher end but I do think they were quality drinks, and 24oz. Appreciate alt milk options for no extra charge - I selected Straus whole milk but would have done coconut milk with my taro mochi if I saw it was an option! Very cute space to wait in. I was really craving Asha Tea House but they aren't open that late. I enjoyed every sip of my coconut pudding with boba, and my husband loved his mango coconut pudding. You can really tell this place doesn't use artificial sweeteners, which is such a refreshing change compared to other spots that overload their drinks with sugar. I was highly disappointed with the Thai Nuggets. The picture shown in the outside advertising didn't match what we received. The nuggets came in a small cup, while the photo showed a different box and portion size. This mismatch is the reason for my 4-star rating. Personally, I hope this place sticks to drinks--I wasn't a fan of the Thai nuggets. The service was great. The two young ladies at the counter were very sweet and efficient. Even though the place was extremely packed, they were getting orders out in a timely manner. I ordered via kiosk, but you can also order directly at the counter. The ambiance is definitely there--very aesthetically pleasing and cute. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. No available tables when I visited around 7pm and a lot of students working on their laptops. There are a few seats with tables available and free WiFi and restrooms, it's a great sunny place to study/do work at if you can find a seat. A friend brought us some delicious drinks back from Tea Hut. It was my first time having anything from this business. I had a Jasmine Milk Tea, 16 oz. light ice with coconut milk. It was delicious! The JasmineTea has a floral taste and the drink was lightly sweetened but not overpowering. Next time I'll try one with boba. This was a nice afternoon pick me up! My drink cost $5.50. Get me into a place like this and you'll quickly understand why I might be the last person on Earth from whom you should accept a recommendation. Simply stated, I don't understand the specifics of what's in these drinks and can barely make sense of the vast and overwhelming menu. But this is my third time venturing into a place like Tea Hut and I left just as happy and satisfied as at those other places I tried (in Montreal and Los Angeles). To be clear, those places had no relation to Tea Hut but they might as well have as my experience - great! - was identical. Tea Hut is immaculate with a nicely designed space and menu, regardless of my limited ability to comprehend it. I inquired about a Watermelon Freeze drink but the response given by the worker was decidedly lackluster so I switched things around: "What would you recommend?" I asked. "Coco Matcha" was her response so that's what I had. I was asked how sweet I wanted this drink to which I could only say "just normal... maybe a little bit less sweet". All the reviews I've read, you'd think I'd be like those people ordering coffee drinks in LA Story but no. What I got was delicious. And filling. And likely horrible for my health. But overall? Delicious. Now I can recommend "Coco Matcha" but only on an empty stomach and perhaps when you'll be going on a long walk while you consume it. There's definitely calories here that need to be expended. New boba in the downtown Berkeley neighborhood. This review is based on this being their second day of their soft opening. Service was shy but sweet. Staff clearly still in training. Ordered four beverages. Some ingredients not available yet. But, all very tasty and nicely balanced. Ambiance was very clean, and nicely decorated. New Boba shop in North Berkeley and I'm really impressed. I've heard they use very fresh ingredients, and it's true everything tastes clean and high quality. My kids had the boba tea and loved it. I tried the hot ginger milk drink with boba, and I've honestly never seen it anywhere else. It was delicious! My husband had the coconut mango drink, which is a vegan option, and he really enjoyed it. Our younger one tried a fresh fruit drink, and it tasted super refreshing and natural nothing artificial. The shop is nicely decorated, very clean, and feels welcoming. Great flavors! My family is in town and we ordered 12 drinks; every drink was a winner and we are boba snobs. I like this better than the boba shop immediately south on Shattuck, and that is saying something given how popular that one is. That shop doesn't offer crystal boba anymore (used to be called boba pops) but this one does. Tea Hut has the makings of longevity in this boba-heavy town. There are lots of options but not too many, and you don't have to pay extra for different milk options. That's unusual. It's also unusual in that there's a lot of seating and there's a bathroom--a lot of boba places in town (there are about 20 on Shattuck and Telegraph alone) don't have seating AND a bathroom. The person helping us was super helpful and accommodated all of our (many) questions patiently. Also unusual is the sign suggesting you go back to have your drink re-made if it isn't perfect for you. Their "Minimal" sugar is really perfect for me, and you don't have to second-guess that because they don't use syrups for fruit flavors. Usually at most boba shops you have to ask for 0% sweet if a syrup is going to be used--and even then it might be too sweet--but everything is fresh here so you can be sure "minimal" is just enough to balance the bitterness of the tea and keep it refreshing. Given the fresh fruits used, I'm surprised it is so affordable. My only complaint is that there's no grass jelly but that is a trivial issue given all the other wins at Tea Hut. Give it a go! This is my new go-to boba spot! I've already revisited 3 times, and each time, my drink has been delicious. Their drinks are more tea-tasting than milky, which I love. Their Jasmine milk tea and Osmanthus milk tea are floral and potent. I don't have a sweet tooth (I usually order 30-50% sweetness), but 75% sweetness has been just right for me.
