Stopped by to grab some tea and James sold me on a couple of high end cigars. Nice space, good vibe. I'll be back.

And to round it out, cookware, gadgets, cookbooks, aprons, linens and cutlery is also available. What I loved the most was the ivast variety of balsamic vinegars and olive oils with filling stations located in the center of the store. Once you select the flavor or varietal, you fill a bottle, which come in three sizes. I'm a huge fan and user of olive oils and can't wait to try several of the flavors. Seriously impressive! They even come in gift boxes so pick some up for hostess gives. Everyone always brings a bottle of wine but I prefer bringing a bottle of fine olive oil as it lasts way past the at night and the hostess can enjoy for many weeks. They even have cooking classes, which I hope will continue during these never ending Covid days. i will definitely going to sign up. Live cooking various cuisines and taking a class is the best way to get familiar with spice combinations and techniques. Staff is super helpful and friendly but not in any way pushy. Prices are very reasonable for such high quality items which is an added bonus. Will make this a definite stop any time i am in downtown Hood River. Already have Christmas and birthday gifts in minds. Five stars all the way and then some!

As a fine chocolate lover it is nearly impossible to find decent chocolate in Hood River anywhere close to 80% cacao and this store does not help. The tea selection was dreary and void of much originality. Pros: They do have a seemingly extensive variety of olive oil so if that's what your into -you would probably like this place. They also have kitchen wares that were reasonably priced.

It is in the small town of Cook, WA but I believe they do production in the nearby town of Bingen, WA. Both towns are in close proximity to each other and nestled in the always beautiful Columbia Gorge. I learned that Blue Bus also makes saurkraut so that already does warrant a return trip. The Kombucha I just purchased one flavor and was highly impressed by it. The flavor was Elderberry Rosehip. A very unique and fun flavor. The elderberries are a berry you don't come across too often compared to other more popular berries and the rosehip are less seen as well. Both flavors play off of each other well and make a very fine Kombucha. I am looking forward to trying some more of their flavors in the future, that much is for sure!

Colin was there and happy to answer all my questions. He has a background working in a brewery, but it wasn't congruent with his lifestyle, so he took what he knew and begin making kombucha and vegetable ferments. The couple has a small farm in White Salmon, Washington, where they grow produce for the fermentation tanks. They also sourced from their local farmer friends. Blue Bus Is a reference to a 1973 blue VW bus that was once the couple's fun mobile. I bought a can of both flavors of kombucha, Elderberry Rose and Turmeric Ginger. Colin gave me a sample of a flavor that is seasonal and not available yet via can, Rhubarb Mint. It was outstanding! Highly Recommended!!!

I'm not making that mistake again! Dickey's is so worth the stop! Inside is so large and spacious. Lots of bins of fresh produce based on what's in season. Plus all your produce staples like onions, potatoes, various salad greens, broccoli, spinach, shallots, lemons, limes, green onions, sweet peppers, hot peppers and more. Oh, and the fig jam, so good with prosciutto on pizza or a crostini. They have lots of Dickey's pickled veggies, too: beans, garlic, asparagus, carrots, giardena. And so many salsas with various fruit. Don't forget to pick up a jar of local. honey - they have all sizes and the prices can't be beat. Very nice selection of local wines, too! Some of their other customers told me to buy a frozen fruit pie, raving about how they taste homemade. I was tempted, but I wasn't heading straight home so I'll make a special trip for that when I'm entertaining or invited to dinner. They were out of fresh eggs, but I'm glad to know they carry them for when my egg dealer is out. Yes, that's what I call her! LOL. Once you start cooking with fresh eggs, there is no going back. They also have lots of pet and farm animal supplies, perennials and house plants. Plenty of parking out front, make Dickey's a stop anytime you are passing through Bingen on Hwy 14.

The brisket was very soft and the ribs fell off the bone but the tiniest cup of bbq sauce I've ever gotten with takeout was not very flavorful. The rub on the meat was dry and had large mustard seeds. I left the ordering to my spouse and he came back with just 4 slices brisket and 5 ribs - no sides - for $44! Maybe the sides make a difference? Maybe moving here from Memphis makes a difference? When you've had ribs there nothing compares! Either way my vote is an hour and 45 minutes on a Saturday is not worth the wait.

So bummed they didn't have my size! Instead I opted for a black crochet sweater made in Italy. The style was unique; oversized with fitted half sleeves, tunic length, boxy yet somehow managed not to look like a big sack! It actually flattered a women's curvy shape. The day I visited was the annual tree lighting known as Imd Dreaming if a White Salmon Christmas - don't you just love that! The shops were open and offering lots of sales.
