Delicious & unique flavor combinations, if you enjoy high quality chocolate, then you will fall in…read morelove with Columbia Gorge Confections! This shop knows how to do chocolate! Bars, truffles, pairings with local Runcible Cider and more. Where to begin? You have probably seen their brightly wrapped chocolate bars at gift shops around Hood River and throughout Oregon, in shops that curate the best of what our state has to offer. With names and flavors that represent: - Dahlia: dark chocolate, tart cherries, Rose & pistachios - Mazen Toffee: dark Swiss chocolate, Oregon hazelnuts - The Hook: Dark Swiss chocolate with candied blood oranges - Love: dark chocolate, pistachio, Rose, strawberries - Lavender Valley: Dark chocolat, strawberries, pistachios, Rose & lavender - Hood River Lavender: white Swiss chocolate, lavender, candied lime & blackberries - Dee: White Swiss chocolate, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries & tart cherries - Carrot Cake: swill milk chocolate , carrot, coconut, pineapple, Oregon hazelnuts & spice These are not your ordinary bars to be consumed in a rush. They are to be savored. Put together a custom Easter basket, birthday or anniversary gift and fill it with different chocolates and other confections of your choosing. They carry gorgeous decorated cookies from another local artisan and Jacobsen's sea salt, jams & preserves, even local wine and cider. Or pick up a S'mores kit with homemade marshmallows, homemade graham crackers and dark chocolate For your next camping adventure. Or for your own backyard, which is what I did! There are other varieties of the S'mores kits too. Like a milk chocolate, marshmallow and gluten free shortbread. The owner has really put together a charming shop with her kitchen in the back where the magic happens. In the shop area she even has an area dedicated to other creator's; there is jewelry, wine, decorated cookies, and right now (April, 2022) some Girl Scout cookies. In the display counter are yummy donuts and bars, some gluten free, some vegan. They make cakes, too! Columbia Gorge Confections is for everyone because everyone loves a sweet treat! I have several gluten free friends, and some vegan, and when they come to visit, Columbia Gorge Confections will most definitely be on the list of places I take them! Located on 7th street near Oak Streer, right behind Evoke Tasting Room.

Working with Trellis Flowers was the most stressful and regrettable part of my entire wedding…read moreexperience. Through multiple discussions (over phone and email) with the owner Blaire, I specified just a few non-negotiables: I dislike eucalyptus or any wide, flat, round-leaf greenery, and dahlias are my least favorite flowers. She confirmed that she understood my directions. On wedding day, my bridal bouquet was full of both eucalyptus and dahlias--it literally made me nauseous seeing something so against my wishes. Not only that, there was even a huge bug-eaten eucalyptus leaf right in the middle of my bouquet. The venue coordinator cut it out for me as I was too disgusted to do anything about it. Later, my photographer (unprompted by me) asked if she could rip out the remaining eucalyptus leaves as they're unattractive and cheap fillers. I also ordered recessional petal-toss petals for $75 and received a handful of browning rose petals. My parents noted that raking their garden would produce better and more abundant results. Later, the venue returned to me their required $50 petal-toss cleanup fee because there were so few petals to pick off the ground. I explained all these and asked Blaire to refund $255 for the bridal bouquet and $75 for the petal-toss petals. She insisted that there was nothing wrong with her service and refused to give me a refund. I have no patience for creatives who have so little integrity and pride in their work--and who take advantage of brides paying thousands of dollars. The message I got from Blaire from initial consult to her last email was "you need me more than I need you." Only choose Trellis Flowers if you want to be treated poorly and pay thousands for flowers you specifically asked not to get.

A variety of necklace lengths and styles; lots of long and dangly earrings; and bracelets and rings round out the offerings in several cases throughout the boutique. The clothing is just as exquisite and individualized. Lovely pieces that you won't find anywhere else. I fell in love with a midi length dress in warm earth tones of gray blue and golden browns. So bummed they didn't have my size! Instead I opted for a black crochet sweater made in Italy. The style was unique; oversized with fitted half sleeves, tunic length, boxy yet somehow managed not to look like a big sack! It actually flattered a women's curvy shape. The day I visited was the annual tree lighting known as Imd Dreaming if a White Salmon Christmas - don't you just love that! The shops were open and offering lots of sales. This gorgeous sweater was 50% off plus another 10% off for the sale so for just $45 I have a gorgeous and functional addition to my wardrobe. Christine was working that night and she was super friendly, welcoming and helpful offering objective opinions as I was trying on various items. Christine made all of the beautiful macrame pieces hanging in the shop, some 10 feet long. They add a texture to a space without competing with anything in a room. I'm now dreaming of a white macrame wall hanging for Christmas! Definitely visit this shop right in the heart of White Salmon nestled between restaurants and other boutiques. So many wonderful items in one place!

And to round it out, cookware, gadgets, cookbooks, aprons, linens and cutlery is also available. What I loved the most was the ivast variety of balsamic vinegars and olive oils with filling stations located in the center of the store. Once you select the flavor or varietal, you fill a bottle, which come in three sizes. I'm a huge fan and user of olive oils and can't wait to try several of the flavors. Seriously impressive! They even come in gift boxes so pick some up for hostess gives. Everyone always brings a bottle of wine but I prefer bringing a bottle of fine olive oil as it lasts way past the at night and the hostess can enjoy for many weeks. They even have cooking classes, which I hope will continue during these never ending Covid days. i will definitely going to sign up. Live cooking various cuisines and taking a class is the best way to get familiar with spice combinations and techniques. Staff is super helpful and friendly but not in any way pushy. Prices are very reasonable for such high quality items which is an added bonus. Will make this a definite stop any time i am in downtown Hood River. As a fine chocolate lover it is nearly impossible to find decent chocolate in Hood River anywhere close to 80% cacao and this store does not help. The tea selection was dreary and void of much originality. Pros: They do have a seemingly extensive variety of olive oil so if that's what your into -you would probably like this place. They also have kitchen wares that were reasonably priced.
