Unfortunately, I don't feel we received the full service. I ordered the Tea for Two for $65 & this is all we were served. I expected some macaroons, eclairs, cream puffs, mini cupcakes, or something to fill the tray...we didn't even get any edible flowers. We went during lunch time, during the week, so the Pianist wasn't playing, the service wasn't very attentive, their outfits, are your typical servers uniform...all black. I was initially really excited about coming here. We planned a tea date with a large group of friends, and there were 11 of us total. The reservation process was fantastic. Adam's customer service was excellent, communication was clear, and the contract outlined exactly what to expect. The tea house itself is beautiful. The decor is charming, and it creates the classic tea-house experience. Everyone in our group dressed up in dresses, hats, and fascinators, and it made for a really fun and memorable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the actual service once we were seated was disappointing. Our contract included a 25% gratuity fee, which felt very high given the level of service we received. An 18% gratuity for a large party would have felt more reasonable, but at 25% I expected a much more attentive experience. It often felt like requests were an inconvenience, and several items we had arranged ahead of time were overlooked. For example, I had communicated multiple times that one guest required a gluten-free menu. When we arrived, her gluten-free options were not brought out until we reminded the staff, and she never received the gluten-free macaron that was supposed to be included. The contract also stated that parties are limited to two hours, which we understood and agreed to. However, staff began hovering right at the two-hour mark and seemed eager for us to leave, despite there not being another party waiting for our table. As for the food, it was just okay. None of the tea sandwiches really stood out to me. My favorite item was the cranberry orange scone, which was quite good. The cream puffs and cheesecake bites looked and tasted very similar to something you might purchase from a warehouse store, and several people in our group commented on that. I can't say for certain whether they were made in-house or not, but they did not feel particularly special. Overall, the venue itself is lovely, and the reservation process was seamless. However, between the service, the food quality, and the high gratuity requirement, I felt the experience did not provide good value for the cost. Loved every moment of my catch up date this Sunday afternoon! Honestly, I don't understand how the ratings are so low and I would've potentially not known about this place it if it wasn't for a friend that went here a few months ago and raved about it! We were taken care of by Mar; very polite and calm energy was greatly appreciated! Throughout our tea service, we were checked in on and they were cognizant about bussing plates or checking if they could provide warm water for your teapot. We ordered the Tea for Two and it was absolutely perfect selection. We loved the variety of sandwich options and liked that we could select 4 kinds with the package we chose. We also got to have our own teapot, which was a big deal because my friend couldn't drink caffeine and I wanted a black tea so everyone was happy! The small side salad and small side of fruit with the cream that came with it was the perfect compliment without being too much. We also ordered one blueberry scone to share and it was so good and warm. The petit fours were ok for me and would try another small sweet bite next time (lemon curd?!). We were full and happy by this point! The live piano music by Hitoshi-san was a definite contributor to our relaxing and enjoyable time here. Such a nice touch to the atmosphere and experience. We didn't purchase anything from the gift shop area, but now that I've been able to see what they have--I would consider buying gifts here without dining. The Tea Rose Garden is a fine tea establishment that is perfect for a nice collective gathering with family and friends. If you are a tea fan, they have very good blends here. As for the food, it's actually better to get their seasonal specials in my opinion if you can; there's typically more food to share with. Not to say what you're ordering isn't enough!-- it's a good amount even for one person if they want to leave full. Remember, leave room for the tea too. :) The Ambiance is nice. The place is medium-large with small tables to fit in several different tea patrons and their respected groups. The patrons are mostly respectful, given the proximity of how close we are sat to each other, keeping their voices down, and not too loud in their conversations but enough to still have a nice chat and enjoy themselves-- it would be nicer if the place spread out the tables a bit-- but so far I've yet to encounter any disagreeable actions by anyone in this attractive establishment. Overall, I thought the highlight was the Seasonal Tea Food option; the spread was visually inviting and enjoyable to share with. The tea is also quite nice--! After your meal, check out their tea options and trinkets off to the side. They have some neat gifts. Some caveats: the food is not amazing, but it's still nice... again try the seasonal tray first. We chose their Fall one and it was a stark difference from the normal options. I visited this tea room yesterday and overall had a really lovely experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and you can tell care goes into the preparation. The lemon raspberry scone was perfectly made -- tender, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights. They also offered some gluten-free options, which I appreciated, and had plenty of sugar alternatives available for tea. Service was wonderful. The servers were friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. Our food came out quickly, and the tea was served nice and hot -- exactly how it should be. That said, it is a bit more expensive than other tea rooms I've visited, especially considering the smaller portion sizes. The overall quality of the tableware and serving pieces didn't quite match the price point. The china cups were plain (part of the fun of tea service is drinking from beautiful floral cups!), and the three-tiered trays were lightweight plastic rather than something more elegant. The space itself was very clean and decorated nicely, which added to the ambiance. However, the tables were quite close together, and with limited sound-absorbing materials, conversations became loud and the background music was hard to hear. There were green dividers in some sections, and it might have felt more relaxed if guests were spread out instead of concentrating seating in one area while other sections remained empty. Without people, the decor around Christmas time is nice but the floor and emptiness didn't feel as High Tea high end as I would like. I asked if it would be acceptable to bring any decor and they said that the table would already come with a vase with flowers - no need to bring anything else. Well - it wasn't, just a white table cloth empty table. Whenever we walked into the restaurant the server didn't really seem to care that we had a reservation and tried to just plop us at any table. I advocated for my prior request and she moved us to the other side of the restaurant and adjusted the table. That bird cage style table was available but "only for the weekend". It would have taken such little effort to make it happen. Anyway, I've been to the Huntington Tea many times - the quality and experience is unmatched. I wanted to give somewhere new a try. The food here was beyond subpar and there was even mold on some pastry. The manager ended up taking care of our tab which was appreciated but I spent the rest of my daughter's birthday wondering if my entire family had food poisoning, especially my baby who was eating it with us. Was deciding between making a reservation here or at another tea house in the area to bring a friend to celebrate her birthday for a party of 3. We selected this place due to the beautiful ambiance and decor inside that we saw from photos on their website, which seemed more fitting for a special occasion celebration. We found paid parking in a garage a few blocks away. We arrived and were seated at a very small table in the front near the piano. There was a live pianist playing some pop covers and classical/jazz, which made for lovely ambiance, but I did feel the table was a bit close, so it was a bit difficult to have a conversation over the volume of the piano. I would have liked to have been seated a bit farther away so we could be more in the center of the tea house where all the beautiful decor is, and felt the table was a good size for a party of 2, but a bit too small for three guests with tea and sandwich trays. We each ordered our own tea serving which each comes with a tray of selected mini bites and pastries. They did combine two of our tray items onto one to take up less space on the table. The server was patient and friendly and did check on us frequently. The sandwiches were lovely, pastries were just okay, some a little dry and bland. Overall, I felt the menu quite pricey for the quality/simplicity of the food, but did love the ambiance and experience. Next time I would come with a larger party to be seated more in the center of the tea house where all the beautiful decorations of lights and garden arches are. It's been a while, but I'm finally back at Tea Rose Garden! My friend made a reservation for us at 11am on a Saturday and when we arrived it wasn't too full, but by noon it was completely packed. I ordered the Rose Afternoon Tea set - which came with fruit, petal salad, dessert bites, scone of your choice, tea, and 3 flavors of sandwiches (6 sandwiches total). I think my favorite part is always the scone, which is baked in-house, served warm, and comes with clotted cream and jam. And if you finish your clotted cream, you can always ask for me. The dessert bites are so tiny! My favorite was the lemon bar and my least favorite was the eclair. For sandwiches, I tried the sun dried tomato, cranberry chicken, and the spicy salmon. The salmon was way too fishy for my liking so I didn't finish it. I also got the blueberry scone. The total came out to about $50 per person. I was a bit disappointed because the waiter got my tea order wrong - I ordered the signature black, but they gave me a rose tea. If it's your birthday and you tell them, they will give you flowers and a free slice of cake! I found metered parking right across the street, which was super convenient. They also have a few paid parking structures nearby. There's 2 gender neutral restrooms, which is not that many so there's always a line. read more

I was here as a co-host of a baby shower and it was an excellent venue for the event. It seems to be the go-to spot for baby and bridal showers and for good reason! It is such a cute little place. We had unlimited tea and sandwiches, and they kept refilling the snacks and even gave us boxes for all the leftovers. The service was so nice and they let us set up an hour beforehand. Everyone had a blast! The only minus is that they schedule a lot of overlapping parties, and there is just a fake hedge between them so it can get very loud. My friends and I felt so welcomed and cozy. They have a good selection of the tea however, we noticed one of them was a little watered down but there's sugar cubes and Splenda available on the table as well as whole milk. We did the tea for two which comes with 16 sandwiches of 4 different choices which filled the three of us up. Our waiter Zach was patient and nice enough to provide us some recommendations. This is forever my favorite afternoon tea place! I have been coming here for over 10 years. I loooove their tea sandwiches (cucumber, egg & watercress, and smoked salmon & dill are my favorites). I am usually not super into scones, but the maple pecan (their only glazed scone) is scrumptious--even before adding a dollop of clotted cream and raspberry jam! They were very kind, thoughtful and patient with the preschool-aged child we brought. The child and I both adored the peach apricot tea. They also offer peaches and cream (vanilla) tea for children. I really love that they offer children's tea and children's tea sandwiches since some afternoon tea places do not. And for those who are lactose intolerant, they had almond milk. Mr. Kevin was our server today. He was so attentive, kind and friendly. I was so impressed! He thoughtfully offered to take our party's pictures--the photos came out so beautiful! We park in the parking structure on the south side Union St (one way street going west) and just walk across the street. The second time we had our niece with us and we got her the Children's Afternoon Tea. Instead of picking one of their Children's Tea Sandwiches (Peanut Butter & Jelly, Raspberry & Cream Cheese or Strawberry Nutella), she wanted a ham & cheese, but they charged extra for that. It was just past Christmas time and they still had all their Christmas décor up at the time. She got a hot chocolate as her beverage. The total we paid for my 4 year old niece ended up being the same as the adult price. One of the negatives about this place is how small their tables are. Both times, they've put us at a small square table and there is hardly any room for all the plates, tea pots, and trays. Customer service is friendly, but very slow when we needed to ask for things like extra napkin or wanted to order another salad, or wanted the bill. The food itself is okay. My husband wanted to join the fun so I've taken him to Afternoon Tea twice at another establishment closer to our house.
