Perfect view of Alcatraz! A little cold for winter day but other seasons would be a perfect spot to hang out and enjoy the city! Steps from the pier is also a plus.

Honestly don't bother coming here. I actually only went to this place based on Google map and saw that this was nearby. But it was definitely a waste of money considering that this place is tucked inside Subpar Mini Golf.

It was a hot day out and I was super thirsty. I wasn't sure if there'd be a boba spot nearby, as this area is super touristy, but Tea Square came to the rescue! Tea Square is a bit hidden, but it's inside Subpar Mini golf one level below the main Ghirardelli Square shops and restaurants. My friend and I came Saturday evening around 6 pm and it wasn't crowded at all. They offer different types of boba, smoothies, snacks, and even beer and wine! I was super surprised by the eclectic menu. I had a big lunch earlier but wanted something small to snack on, so the snack heavy menu here was exactly what I was looking for. I got a mango peach smoothie for $6.50 as well as some popcorn shrimp ($6.50) to munch on. My friend ordered a beer ($7) and tots ($4). The smoothie was good and really hit the spot on a rare hot SF day. When we got the food, we were shocked by the quantity. It was a struggle for both of us to finish what we ordered. Quality-wise it's nothing special or fancy, but it was a good snack before our show later. I also loved the seating area, as there are both indoor and outdoor tables on the patio with water facing views. When we came, it wasn't too crowded and we were able to snag a spot easily indoors. I'll have to come back again some time to try the mini golf here! It's $12/person and has to be reserved online in advance.

The service was prompt and polite. The boba itself was subpar (pun intended), the tea WAS kind of strong tho, so good for them! The taro milk tea was better than the jasmine.

This is a small boba shop hidden away near the game space at Ghirardelli Square. Got the brown sugar milk with oat milk and less ice. The quality of the boba was good but the drink was largely flavorless so I wouldn't recommend that drink. There is a spectacular view of the water from here though. Definitely worth sitting outside.

6/13/21 Quarantine Day 454 I was craving something sweet after brunch so my friend and I stopped by the closest boba shop, which happened to be Tea Square Boba. It's a new boba place in Ghirardelli Square, and I wanted to try it out. In the same space, you'll also find an area to play indoor mini-golf. It was pretty much empty; no line to order and a group of kids playing mini-golf. The cashier greeted me in a friendly manner and I thought I would go with something light so I picked the Jasmine Milk Tea. I only had to wait maybe two minutes for my drink to be ready. When I went to get my drink, they did not cap it well because when I grabbed it, it spilled all over my hand (thank goodness it wasn't hot!). The cashier was very apologetic but didn't make much of an effort to help me clean up. She just gave me some paper towels so I could wipe what spilled on the floor and the countertop. It's not like she had much to do anyway, so I'm not sure why she didn't try to help me clean since she didn't put the top on correctly in the first place..... The drink itself was very disappointing. The first few sips were okay, but the drink was watery so not a lot of flavor. Another downside was that the boba was very stale and clunky. In hindsight, I'm glad I gave this place a try because now I know I won't be coming back here due to the lack of customer service and terrible boba.

Thai Iced Tea Brown Sugar Milk

A good place to get boba tea if you're near Ghirardelli Square. I wouldn't say it was the best, but very few places can adjust the sugar level in Thai iced tea, and this is one of them. The seating area is also cute, made of glass with a view of the waters and Alcatraz. I didn't like our server that much; they were super straight-faced and seemed disinterested, so not a pleasant experience there.

Great views, outdoor seating, window seating, and space. As tourism starts to pick up again, I feel like this place will be hopping--it was already busy last weekend when I went for a friend's birthday! It's a bit hard to find--it's in the same building as Subpar Mini Golf, which I love how it's Bay Area/SF-themed! Boba was good. I thought the tea was a bit average and overly-sweet even though I got 50% sweet Thai Tea. I did like the consistency and chewiness of the bubbles though! I'm also curious to try their food--they have lots of snack options like smoothies, French fries, waffle fries, tater tots, onion rings, popcorn shrimp, mozzarella sticks, veggie egg rolls, and lots of other fried goods! There's not many boba places this close to the water so I'd be back if I'm around--I also like how it's not a chain!

Stopped in Tea Square Boba for a quick drink while spending some time in the city. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea. The service was quick and staff were friendly. I was the only person in line so my tea was ready in no time. The tea itself was not as flavorful as I am used to, but it was still good. I would love to try a mango peach smoothie next.

Jasmine Boba Lightly Sweetened

This is the best boba I've ever had. The boba was fresha and warm and the jasmine was so fresh. It tasted like the actual flowers. The light sweet was perfect. There's a place for outdoor seating and a great view. There's also tons of milk options should you need it. Would definitely come back.

Milk tea was too sweet for me. Thai tea was delicious. Enjoyed boba teas on a sunny afternoon in downtown San Francisco!

I had the taro milk tea and it's one of the best bobas I have ever had. It's not in my neighborhood but I will definitely be back for it.

Their service was mid. Their tea was disgusting and watered down. The boba is soft and fresh though. For the price it's kind of horrible.

Popcorn chicken isn't the kind you'd expect at a boba shop. Boba and MT were so so. Trap tourist spot.

Boba is a'plenty in Chinatown, but a taro milk tea proved harder to find. By Me saved the day!…read more My kid is a pro taro boba taste tester and assured me this was one of the best he's ever had. It definitely had a more rice-y flavor which gave it some authentic vibes. Boba was soft and chewy perfection too.

I ordered the Passion Fruit Slushy, while my husband ordered the Mango Yakult Fruit Tea. The customer before me happened to order a Passion Fruit Slushy, and after seeing how good it looked, I knew I had to get one too. One thing I did notice was that the photo on the kiosk for the passion fruit slush didn't quite match the drink that was actually served. Thankfully, the real thing looked even better. Our drinks came out surprisingly fast, and the customer service was friendly and consistent throughout our visit. When our drinks came out, all I can say is this was hands down the best passion fruit slushy I've ever had--and I'm not exaggerating. It tasted incredibly fresh and was packed with flavor. Most places I've tried tend to lose their flavor once the ice starts melting, but somehow this place has perfected their slushies because mine stayed flavorful the entire time. My husband also really enjoyed his Mango Yakult Fruit Tea and said it's a great option if you're looking for something fruity. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the Lychee Slushy the next time I'm in the area. Definitely will be back!
