    Waiting for my drink
    Stephanie C.

Today is the second time I am ordering food items besides a drink. There are tons of different food selections besides beverages. The service is very quick and efficient. They post any new items by the counter. Ambiance is clean and easy to decide what you would like to order. For a Sunday there was a bit of wait time. The week days after 3pm is very busy as students come here to order items for their snacks,

Love their Thai milk tea boba! The service is quick and there is usually seating available

This is not a bad place to come by for drinks and boba. They sell milk teas, hot drinks, creamas, fresh fruit teas, saga, jellies, rice drinks and various snacks like musubis, fries, popcorn chicken etc. There's a few stools/countertops for sitting and people watching since it's right on the corner and you can watch the cable cars go by. I ordered a red bean milk tea and also a strawberry smoothie. I originally asked for a strawberry banana smoothie but was told "No banana". OK drinks, I didn't think it was too sweet. Service was quick & curt.

Solid spot for food, snacks, boba, and fruit on the outskirts of Chinatown along the Powell St cable car line and across the street from the Chinatown library. I also get fruit from here on TooGoodToGo, but routinely come here for boba, spam musubi, and fish musubi. Their menu runs the gamut, including takoyaki, popcorn chicken, fish and chips, noodles, and more. I think it'd be nice travel food. I also like how they have so many drink options. Service is curt and quick and can be hit-or-miss.

    Big rock inside my drink

Poor food quality, I ordered a peach Gum coconut milk for the first time from this store, and there is a big red rock inside my drink, I drank half of bottle already, after that I was having diarrhea, never order again from this store.

Went here twice within 2 weeks with different friends since it was convenient after eating nearby. There was no wait the times I went. They have a self service kiosk to order from but we ordered with the person working at the counter instead. The drinks were good but not great which is fine. The place seemed clean and there was a good amount of tables to sit at to enjoy the drinks and chat. One time I got the brown sugar milk with oat milk substitute and another time I got the mango slush. Both were good and no complaints. My only minor gripe about this place is that the menu behind the counter has very small font size so it is a bit hard to see from a distance. I would come back again if I am in the area and looking for a refreshment.

COVID-19 precautions. Closed on Mondays. Parking can be a toughie, but I got you. Apple Pay, cash and card payments accepted. Friendly and sweet staff. Expansive drink and food menu. Fun boba toppings. Fresh fruits sold in shop. Affordable. Awesome boba in SF. See below for more info: COVID-19 precautions: Staff and customers wear face masks. People keep a physical distance, typically waiting for drink and food items outside. There is complimentary hand sanitizer at register. The door is kept open for airflow. Closed on Mondays: Ha Tea is closed on Mondays. Current hours are Tuesday-Sunday from 11 in the morning to six in the evening. Parking can be a toughie, but I got you: I live close so just walk here. However, I know parking in the area can be a toughie. There are meters and street parking on Washington Street between Stockton and Powell as well as meters on Clay Street (two blocks away) between Powell and Stockton. There is free parking on the Nob Hill side of Washington. You can get lucky and find a spot on Powell though. (: Apple Pay, cash and card payments accepted. Apple Pay, cash and card payments are taken at Ha Tea. Friendly and sweet staff: The Ha Tea staff are friendly and sweet. All have been kind and made by experience at the shop pleasant. Expansive drink and food menu: The drink and food menu at Ha Tea is expansive. From fruit milk teas to milk teas and juices to snacks ranging from chicken wings to sweet potatoes, there is an item here for everyone (menu pics included in review). Fun boba toppings: The boba toppings are fun here and include grass jelly, coffee jelly, mango jelly, lychee jelly, magic boba, red bean and rainbow. Fresh fruits sold in shop: Want boba and a snack but also some fresh fruit? Ha Tea is the answer as fresh fruit is sold here. Talk about MANGOficient!! :D Affordable: The items here are affordable, especially for the city. A large boba milk tea is $4.50. Snacks are $6.59 whereas lunch and dinner options range from $6.99 to about $11.99. Awesome boba in SF: I find boba TEArrific and am so happy to live so close to Ha Tea. The drinks are of great quality and consistently so, which is not always the case for boba in the city. My go-to is the pearl milk tea as it is a nice afternoon snack to get me through study sessions. Other drinks have also been pleasant. The boba is soft yet chewy. The drinks are on the sweet side, which I like, but you can adjust for sugar as well as ice levels. I encourage y'all to try Ha Tea!!

Mango Passion Fruit Tea with lychee jelly

In the middle of the San Fransico ChinaTown, you find Ha Tea! Not only does it have bubble tea and other food options, it also sells packaged snacks. It is cute on the inside and the service was good! The tea was good as well.

The reason why I give 1 star because the customer service attitude, the girl looks like very unfriendly, when I asked her what's your popular drink, she looks like she doesn't care, just said you can read the menu, then I ask her again, she just point out one of the drink. When I ask her how about appetizers which one is good, her answer is same as before " read the menu by yourself," then I order fried chicken wings, she said they don't have it. Finally I only order 2 drinks instead of 4 drinks. Waiting for over 25 mins to get all my items. Recommendation if you want customer back please knowledge your servers let them understand he menu, how to talk with customer, how to do the customer service. Will not recommend

The tea was great! We got three teas: (2 milk teas, and 1 green tea with mango). They were all delicious. The service was really fast, and the woman working was incredibly nice. We will definitely be back!

I loved this place for their passion fruit bubble tea with honey lemon and lycee jelly. Best Bubble tea ever tasted! They also have fresh produce there that they use for their drinks. The customer service looks like it could be hot or miss. I had a hit. The girl suggested with confidence a drink I should get and helped me pick produce that was ripe enough to eat as some of these fruits I was not familiar with.

Jasmine green milk tea - perfect lightness/sweetness. Boba balls are very fresh
    Selena M.

I've tried several of San Francisco's Only got to try the jasmine green milk tea and wish I got to try more drinks! The milk tea was the perfect light sweetness and the boba balls were fresh. Friendly customer service, assuming she's the owner. I will definitely be coming back!

This spot got recommended to me by one of my students as a Chinatown gem and also received praise…read morefrom multiple friends so I finally found a reason to give it a try. Mikayla was in town so we figured we'd meet and catch up. I had gone on a bit of a pastry bender and was suffering from fresh food coma when she asked if I was available. I wasn't about to pass on an opportunity to try a new spot though so I was scouting Yelp specifically for a spot that served good light dessert as well as real food options. Come to find that Metro Hong Kong Dessert fit the description perfectly. When we walked in, the server greeted us in Chinese. I couldn't quite understand his dialect though, so he asked if were were ordering for here or to go and gestured to an open table when we said for here. That was a bit confusing because the kiosk to order is at the front, so you do order for dine in at the kiosk and then have a seat at a table and then someone will bring out your order. Mikayla was feeling something warm on a chilly night so she got the fish porridge, I was feeling something light that would be easy on my food coma stomach so I got the mango sago taro ball dessert. Both of our dishes came out in sizable portions. I thought there would be real mango chunks on top of the desert but it seemed to be only mango puree in the soup. Nonetheless, the dessert was tasty and easy on my stomach so it was exactly what I wanted. The server could speak some basic English but was primarily fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. When we were wrapping up our meal a confused individual came in the door and seemed to be giving the server a hard time, asking about if he knew Mandarin in English but then saying he didn't understand his Mandarin. Eventually the server said he couldn't speak any languages in an attempt to convince the individual to leave the establishment. I wasn't facing the door so I didn't turn to see what exactly was happening but in hindsight I wish I turned to look. I would definitely revisit for a boba, another dessert, or some dim sum. The menu had a wide variety of options so there will be something for everyone if you're in a group and feeling different things. Prices were also not steep if cost is a concern. My dessert came to the table first and Mikayla had to wait a bit longer for her porridge, but the wait was not notably long.
