Tea top has always been my favorite bubble tea place ITP. Nestled in a very busy shopping center in Doraville, parking is generally hard to find and there is usually a wait (still applies during quarantine). Their menu is pretty diverse, but I think the milk teas in particular, especially the sun moon lake, stand out from the rest. The bubbles are chewy and on par with other top tier bubble tea places in the area. Pricing is pretty reasonable for the area as well. Pre quarantine, the interior has always been very cozy with lots of options for games to play with your friends (not sure if that will make a comeback when quarantine ends due to safety reasons). Now, a table blocks the door where customers go to pick up tea. You can only order by calling in, and someone from the store will call you when the order is ready. Personally, I find their process very safe, as human interaction is very limited and there is a lot of area outside the store to social distance yourself from other customers waiting for their orders. read more

Tea Top is a newer bubble tea place located in the same plaza as H Mart, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Shoya, and Yebisuya. This location is seriously amazing. You can get your dessert/tea fix after having a meal out. Parking also shouldn't be an issue since it's in this huge plaza - you might just have to do some walking. We tried their matcha milk tea and the Fresh Milk Trifecta. We were so impressed with their bubble tea selection. They have a really good variety, and you can tell that this is the real stuff and not just some powdered mixture. The Matcha Milk Tea was really good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the Fresh Milk Trifecta. It has a combination of 3 different toppings, and I just felt that the trifecta took away from the actual tea flavor. You just spend too much time chewing and eating, instead of drinking. The interior is very modern and cute. It's just very picture-worthy inside, AND they have board games if you want something to occupy your time. Overall, I'd highly recommend Tea Top. I would definitely come here after a meal out, and I'd even drive over here just for the tea. read more

To try and summarize my love for Tea Top would be near impossible because as you can probably tell by the amount of photos and check-in's here, I LOVE Tea Top. Let's get some important things covered first: 1. Boba Quality: superb, excellent, and a perfect consistency every time! slightly sweet and always easy to chew! 2. Staff and Service: SUPER FRIENDLY! And FAST SERVICE! even on the busiest days (pre-COVID) there would be a line out the door and I'd still get my drink in about 5 minutes or less. I also love how they're honest and helpful; for example, my go-to drink is the Lychee Black Tea and the staff will always recommend 80% sugar since the drink can be too sweet at 100%. I appreciate this honesty a lot!! 3. The TEA: I think what really makes Tea Top stand out in a saturated market of tea shops in the area is that they truly have quality tea. I also love that they only offer once size, it might be a personal preference but I think you really get a substantial sized drink for a very fair price and it eliminates another decision I'll have to make among deciding what tea and toppings to get. Here's my list of go-to's - Lychee Black Tea with Pearls (and sometimes lychee jelly) - Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea with either Egg pudding or pearls (or both if I really can't decide) - Earl Grey Milk Tea with either coffee jelly or pearls 4. PRO TIP: if you happen to go often, ask for a punch card. After ten punches (one per drink), you get a free drink! (I have definitely gone through my fair share of these) 5. Parking: huge parking lot shared with HMart, restaurants, and other shops. Although it gets busy, it shouldn't be difficult to find a parking spot. 6. Interior: ample amount of seating and they provide you with games to play if you happen to come in a group! Additional notes: since most of my review is based on pre-COVID, I'd like to note that throughout the pandemic, Tea Top still manages to deliver fast service and quality drinks. Really good and consistent bubble tea shop! I got the mango green tea (it's such a simple drink, if they can't make it right then everything else is trash! Lol) Well they did it right! The bubbles are flavored and slightly sweetened, tea is not bitter and the drinks are a nice large size. -- only one size available for the teas but that's ok! The employee did warn me that the mango green tea drink is on the sweet side so I went with 50% sweet and it was still pretty sweet! So be careful when ordering this drink :) Very clean place and all the employees are nice and smile back at you. I would come here after eating a meal at one of the nearby restaurants for a desert drink. Tons of parking and next to the HMart ! Very easy location to get to as well. read more

Tea Top is one of my most favorite boba tea places! My go-to order is the Oolong Milk Foam Tea with 50% sugar and 50% ice levels with boba, of course. It is an absolute DREAM drinking this. The tea is so fresh and delicious. The milk foam gives it a nice level of creaminess. It goes down so well and literally feels like I could just sleep and dream with how delicious it is-- this sounds like I am exaggerating, but these are just my thoughts haha. I could have this every day and not get tired of it. The staff is also always so nice & sweet. They whip out our drinks as fast as they can. Maybe I'm aging cuz I don't crave milk teas as often. It's no longer a must every weekend but noticed that there's been significant number of good tea places opening in each pockets of town like Sandy Spring, Duluth, and Buford that there's more temptation everywhere. Especially the new trend is to have board games to provide more of an inviting atmosphere to actually just hang around and chill. This being the case for Tea Top, which just had their grand opening in Chamblee Hmart plaza towards the Shoya corner. Im super thrilled for this plaza, finally flourishing with restaurants and businesses! What actually really motivated me to write this review was the staff. The cashier lady was very friendly and took the time to tell me extra details such as that the taro milk tea actually comes with real taros. Ka-ching, take my money! And that by adding coconut jelly with taro milk tea, it can have a slight sour taste. I saw on Yelp that this place offered coconut jelly, which is somewhat rare so I gave it a try and was good, despite the slight sour taste that the staff had warned me about. One of my new favorite bubble tea spots. They relatively new to the Doraville H-Mart shopping center which has been growing over the last few years with lots of new restaurants and businesses opening. Interior wise, the entire shop is narrow and seating is mostly along the walls. Still roomy enough to fit a decent size crowd. Tea Top, is located on left side of the shopping towards the corner. They specialize mostly in bubble tea (milk teas, green tea, black tea, etc.). The options on the menu are diverse and give you a bit of everything. Definitely take a look at their Top 10 most popular items, that's easier for new customers to know what's good. Only tried a handful but most of them have hit the spot. Short review, but definitely give Tea Top a try, it's in an area where you can find similar bubble tea establishment but quality and taste of this place is great. Worth a visit for sure! read more

We know I love bubble tea. They are located in the shopping plaza with USA Brand Mart sitting at the corner. So it's plenty of parking but it's kind of always full as there are also other restaurants and offices in the plaza. The shop itself is kind of tight fitting. Sometimes the line is wrapped around in the store. They have fast service. So the wait is usually 5-15 minutes. I love the milk foam black team less ice and regular sugar. This is one of my favorite drinks at any bubble tea shop. So this is my new spot since they are located closer to me. Try it out. They have a variety of drinks and toppings. read more

Yay! A bubble tea spot ITP, on my way to dance! Tea Top was clean, friendly and affordable. I ordered the winter melon and asked for half sweetness. They couldn't adjust the sweetness of the winter melon syrup, so I just trusted that the staff would not make it too sweet. They really did a nice job and the winter melon tea come out JUST sweet enough. There exists a dizzying array of boba tea shops on this stretch of Buford highway. When Tea Top came recommended by multiple boba-fanatic friends, my fiance, my future brother in law, and I checked this place out eagerly when the craving hit for bubble tea. Ordering occurs via phone or online during COVID times; the full menu is posted online and in the shop window. The menu here is expansive with numerous combinations of flavors and add ins, along with the requisite custom levels of ice, sugar, etc. Drinks come in only one relatively large size, so plan accordingly. We stuck with some classics and received our drinks in about 5ish minutes despite the small crowd gathered outside the shop. We found the ingredients (both base teas and add ins) to be flavorful and of a high quality. I opted for taro milk tea and appreciate the fact that real, fresh taro was used which added a pleasant, somewhat savory flavor to the drink. Similarly, my fiance's Thai tea had a strong, characteristic taste that worked well with the mix ins. Speaking of the mix ins, we dug Tea Top's soft yet bouncy grass jelly (subtly sweet and almost medicinally refreshing) as well as the standard boba (called "pearls" here, fresh and with great Q texture). Drinks ran about $5-6 per and, as previously mentioned, are rather big. I can see why my friends all universally recommended this place, and we will return here next time the craving for this category of drinks strikes. read more

I'm a huge fan of bubble tea and Tea Top has been my favorite boba shop in Atlanta for over a year now! Although I still enjoy the Golden Oolong Milk Tea at my former favorite boba spot, it's now second place for me. There are five key reasons why Tea Top is the best, in my opinion: 1. Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea - This drink has a black tea called Sun Moon Lake tea as a base, and I always get mine with boba ("pearl"), less sugar ("80%"), and less ice. It is DELICIOUS. Personally, I haven't seen the Sun Moon Lake tea anywhere else in the area yet. It's hard to describe the flavor, but it's very refreshing, and the boba is the perfect texture and slightly sweet. 2. Parking - You may need to walk a little bit on busy days, but there is a large parking lot and plenty of spaces, unlike my previous favorite bubble tea joint. 3. Fast Service - They often have a long line of customers, but once you get to the register, place your order, and pay, you usually only need to wait a few minutes for your drink. 4. Loyalty Card - I love places that reward their regular customers. Buy 10 drinks and get 1 free! Be sure to get a stamp every time you purchase a drink. If you forget your card, ask for a new card because they don't expire (at least the one I currently have doesn't). 5. Games - There is a shelf full of games, like Jenga, towards the back right of the shop to keep customers entertained while they enjoy their drinks. But note that the place is small, which forces most customers to take their drinks to-go. Like any business, there are a few minor "cons." Tea Top's drinks come in only one size (equivalent to a "large" at other bubble tea shops), they don't accept American Express cards, and their restroom isn't kept as clean as one would expect from a place that serves beverages. But the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I usually take my order to-go, so I usually don't stop in the restroom, anyway. Overall, Tea Top gets 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 for their excellent bubble tea and quick, friendly service. And there is a giant bubble tea - a fun photo op - on display by the register! I don't live in Atlanta anymore, but whenever I'm back in town to visit, I always find myself at Tea Top. And I've even completed a punch card (not on the same trip) which is a HUGE accomplishment considering that I don't even live here. My favorite drink, and go-to order, is the Sun Moon Lake milk tea with boba 50% sweet. It's basically a black tea varietal from that particular region (the Sun Moon Lake region!) of Taiwan that is super fragrant and yummy and in my opinion, a step up from the black tea they use in their classic Pearl Milk Tea. And the boba is always chewy and fresh. The sugar levels here are on the sweet side, so I'd probably get 70% sugar to start. Also, fun fact their Pearl Milk Tea actually comes with double boba by default!! I found this out when I was comparing the amount of boba in my boyfriend's drink versus mine. Like others have noted, parking here is very difficult and it's always busy, but you gotta do what you gotta do for that boba fix. COVID-specific feedback: well intentioned pre-order system over phone and online, but led to crowds waiting outside (not social distancing) and despite the pick up station set up at the door, you still need to touch the door handle to open it. Simple fix would be a door stop and have the employees order people into a pick-up versus those who were ordering by phone and online outside the store. read more

I love that most everything they have is made with non dairy creamer, even the milk teas! The pearls to me are a little soft, I prefer a firm pearl, but that comes down to personal taste and preference. We stopped here twice on our last visit to Atlanta and I had the brown sugar/Jasmin tea with pearls. The second time I had the lychee/grape slushy with pearls and it was amazing! The slushy had a very strong flavor, whereas the milk tea I had at first was a little bit weak for me. But, my wife and I felt this was one of the better boba shops we've been to outside of NYC. There are no shortage of bubble tea spots on Buford highway and a number of them in the Hmart plaza. Still I think Tea top is my favorite bubble tea in Atlanta. It's definitely one of the most "authentic" tea shops. Most of their teas are actually tea flavors and have a strong brewed flavor. Not the more common powdered colored "bubble tea". For example you may know taro tea as a purple milk drink, but at Tea Top it's literally blended sweet potato (taro). I love their cheese foam series and it's my go to. Came here after visiting hmart and we wanted to try a boba spot we haven't before so we decided to stop by tea top. When we walked up we noticed a lot of people waiting for drinks, so definitely a popular spot and they have an order ahead option so you can cut down the wait time if you order and shop at hmart. We placed our orders when we were there and waited about 20 minutes for drinks to be ready. Outside they have a menu for you to look at as well as instructions on how to order. Here's what we decided to try: Brown sugar jasmine milk tea with pearls- 7/10 it was okay, nice jasmine tea flavor, boba consistency was good. Wintermelon alpine green tea with lychee- 8/10 my brother liked his drink, can't adjust sugar level for this drink, but he said it was fine Taro milk tea 50% sweet with pearls- 4/10 didn't really like this. the milk tea flavor was fine, didn't get too much taro flavor like other places. they use like actual grinded up bits of taro or something. It was weird consistency. Pearls were good though. Peach green tea 80% sweet with aloe Vera- 9.5/10 my favorite drink that we got! Tea flavor was nice and not bitter, peach flavor was there and added a nice sweetness. There were chunks of peach and along with the aloe Vera, it was perfect. Definitely recommend this. A little on the sweeter side so maybe try 50% for perfect level of sweetness. All drinks are one size and some have more customizations than others I think in terms of sweetness. Overall, they were busy but they worked fast for a lot of orders that I saw. Pickup was easy, but I was confused because there are two windows. I saw a couple pickup at a window to the right where I think you can order as well? Pickup sign was on the left. I waited for a few minutes and no one was there so I had to ask the guy at the opposite window where I can pick up. He had someone come to assist so it ended up getting sorted out. I kept hearing through the grapevine that this was a good boba place, and so naturally, I had to submit to the calling. I came here at around 8pm on a Sunday night, and of course the first thing I noticed was the long queue of millennials, many of whom likely to be your typical Asian American boba addict, snaking towards the back of the venue. This better be good, right? I spent a good amount of time perusing the menu since there were so many options, many of which seemed unique to Tea Top. I ended up getting the Sun Moon Lake Black Tea half sweet, less ice, with boba. I received my order shortly after placing it, despite how packed it was and prepared myself for the hype (of course after taking a quick picture). That said, I was not disappointed. I don't know what's different about the Sun Moon Lake Black Tea from just normal black tea, and I'm not sure it's something I could articulate. Even if I could, words alone will likely not do it justice. This may, however, be the best boba I've had in Atlanta. I'd say it makes Sweet Hut look like the person you dated in high school before you knew any better, and don't take that the wrong way, I like Sweet Hut. In terms of pricing, this may be on the slightly higher end compared to other boba places in the area, but rest assured you're getting what you paid for. So many places for bubble tea now, but Tea Top, out of all the "newcomers" is my favorite! Not only mine, but pretty much of everyone I know. Located inside the HMart Plaza off I-285, this spot has tons of parking and has a line out the door on a regular basis. I started coming here back in August when I last visited and was so hooked that I had it 4 days in a row. The inside has ample seating, but with so many people hanging out there all the time it might be hard to find any. The tea here is always fragrant and you can actually taste the tea. My favorite drink is probably the 3Q - lychee jelly, grass jelly, boba milk tea. With all the toppings and everything, 30% sugar is the perfect amount of sweetness. Since it's so good I haven't really had a chance to try the other stuff. My new go-to spot for bubble tea... move over Sweet Hut! read more

Tea Top's COVID operations were one of the first I appreciated because they took call-ahead orders, and now online orders. That way, pick up is quick. Originally, they had the new make-shift counter right at the door with a plastic overhang barrier so you don't even have to step inside. Now they've walled off the previous seating area & it's more like just a lobby area. I do wish you could pay ahead so it is legit just pick up your drinks & go. I've been patronizing Tea Top well before COVID though, so here's my fave list (in no particular order): sun moon lake milk tea sun moon lake black tea red bean slush wintermelon alpine green tea kumquat green tea (I've also asked to use black tea & it's just as good.) Of course, all with boba! Their boba is probably my fave. There are different tea options offered here besides the regular green/black/oolong. I got the Sun moon lake milk tea with pop boba. The different options for pop boba is another thing that differentiate this place from the many other boba places in town. From the two I was able to taste (passion fruit and strawberry), I would recommend the passion fruit. You can choose your ice and sugar level, both goes all the way down to 0%. Also, in case you want to be environmental friendly, the milk cap drinks don't come with straws! I do wish that there were size options for drinks. Everything comes in a large, which I can never finish. Board games were offered in the back of the shop. There were plenty of options to choose from. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sun moon lake tea, but that's just personal preference. I'll definitely try the more "normal" teas next time. read more

I was searching around for boba tea places that serve cheese foam and saw that this place had it so I went to go try it! They have a multitude of teas, and I found that out of all the bubble tea places in the area, this one had the most authentic tea taste. Most other tea places are filled with sugar and milk but this one wasn't like that! I really like the oolong tea with either milk or cheese foam. It sounds gross, but don't knock it till you try it! I really enjoyed the drinks here. I also had the Sun Moon Lake milk tea and Alpine Green Milk tea, which was also super good! Their boba is nice, soft yet firm enough, chewy and sweet. This place hits the spot! They also have a bunch of games you can play too, so you can come here for a bit and hang out with friends. Overall, good tea spot. I've been to Tea Top a few times now, but my very first time I came to Tea Top with 5 other friends and had zero expectations walking in, since we'd just had dinner at the nearby Miss Gogi. I'm happy we came to Tea Top because I really enjoyed the teas I tried here! Staff were quick to greet and eager to explain their products. These guys are fast too, getting my bubble tea out to me before I could even take a seat! I ordered their Taro milk tea with Sago ($4.75). I enjoyed the options here, and was asked how much ice I wanted (less ice), if I wanted pearls, and how much sugar I wanted. The Taro milk tea came with tiny particles of taro in the drink, and I went with the 50% sugar that was recommended. I wasn't sure about the particles of taro initially, but it was an added touch I liked. The 50% sugar was pretty sweet. I really can't imagine getting 100% sugar and slurping it down with a straight face. The flavor of the taro milk tea was not sickeningly sweet, no artificial or powdery taste like others i've tried. Very fresh including the tapioca pearls. I also got to try some of the Jasmine milk tea and it was also really good! Located near the Super H Mart in Doraville, parking for Tea Top is not a problem at all regardless of any crowds. The interior was nice and clean with a few tables and chairs for lounging. There's also some outdoor seating too. Really enjoyed my experience here. Hope you can give these guys a shot! read more

Best tea so far! Earl Grey with red bean and grass jelly! A dessert in a beverage!! Loved that it's made with real tea that is not watered down. The sweetness was perfectly toned down to 80% for me. Hands down the best bubble tea place in Atlanta. I tried several places during my trip and Tea Top was the absolute best. They use freshly brewed teas instead of powders, which give it a stronger tea taste instead of an overly sweet and artificial taste. It's in Doraville, which is a little far from downtown, but there's also an Hmart and Chinese skewer place nearby, which will make the long drive worthwhile. read more
