I always enjoy the variety and taste of Sweet Hut. It's pretty predictable and I can count on this place for a sweet or savory treat.

This is an Asian bakery. They have so many sweets it's overwhelming! You want to try them all. But it's different types of sweets, not what Americans are used to. I want to continue to try everything that they have. They have lots of drinks as well and some savory things. There is some seating here, but it was quite crowded while we were there, no complaints. Go and check them out and try something new!

I think this spot got even better than when I was last here a couple years ago. Their desserts are delicious! I got a new one - called the Violet. It's a light color bun with black sesame seeds on the outside with taro and mochi inside. It was my first time getting this and wow! I am truly blown away by it and will be getting this every time now. I also was specifically looking for red bean mochi, which they had. It was green tea mochi with red bean paste inside. I love getting these from different places and this is honestly the best one I've ever had!! It's $8.50 for a pack of 4 and totally worth it. Truly so delicious. The taro butterfly is as yummy as always too! I also love the ambiance here. They have lots of tables with plenty of outlets and a jug of water to get as you need. I think this would be a perfect spot to work from and I cannot wait to come back.

I got a taro butterfly pastry as a snack and Vietnamese coffee for my drink. The viet coffee was decent for $5, it's not bitter nor do you taste the strong coffee but I prefer that burst of caffeine. I'd get it again, but ask for no ice because it took me so long to finish my drink anyway. The taro butterfly was good with a real taro paste inside. It wasn't too sweet either or too small. I didn't want something chocolately or savory, so this was a good pick for me (for ~$3). There is free wifi and free parking in the Asian Square. It was really loud sitting by the black tables/chairs because of the music they were playing/blasting. But by the booth/couch area, it was a bit quieter. The booth has a couple of outlet plugs behind the pinkish seats.

So sweetheart is a type of spot that you can go shopping for different bakery goods and pastries. They have plenty. You basically kind of grab a tray or a basket as if you would be moving in a cafeteria line. This one isn't as big as another one that I've been to, but they still have plenty of baked goods. The spot itself has free parking and it's in the shopping center. The shopping center is has a lot of stuff there so you could easily go grab some good dinner and then use this for dessert. They have indoor and outdoor seating, even though there's only a few things that are available outdoor. They do have something. But mostly it's indoor. Everything they have just about is wrapped in plastic so it's sealed and it's not just sitting out for everybody cough and sneeze over. So you don't have to worry about all the germs because they package it for you. They'll have all the labels there to help you figure out what you want and so that you know what you're getting. It could go from sweet buns to hot dogs or whatever else they may have on hand. They actually also have a part that has plenty of cakes so you can order whole cakes or slices of cakes to go. If you want food. They have a limited food menu and they have a number of teas like bubble tea and an assortment of flavors. The last time I went I got a cheesecake and some orange green bubble tea and it was all good. If you're not sure what you want, and want to try to shop around, this will be a good spot to go to because you can basically wander around until you figure out what you want and you can eat there or take it to go.

Sweet Hut is a local Asian bakery chain in the ATL area, similar to 85 Degrees C (along the west coast and south), or Paris Baguette (now nationwide in major cities). This particular location is fairly spacious and has a wide selection of baked goods, pastries and cakes, as well as a variety of hot and cold tea drinks, examples being milk tea with boba, Thai tea, Taro and Strawberry Milk tea,, Lemon, Passionfruit and Mango Green teas. They have your typical bubble tea place toppings too--coffee jelly, aloe, lychee joy, popping boba. Bun and pastry options include Portuguese style egg tarts, various cream and chocolate-filled buns, hokkaido cupcakes, coconut tarts, taro or red bean-filled buns, various types of polo buns, and that's only the sweet options. Savory buns include cheese, pork floss, corn, scallion, hotdog or bacon toppings, bbq chicken and pork fillings, puff pastries filled with curry and/meat. There are also bagged loaves of sliced flavored breads. I recently tried a couple of the buns here--custard-filled sweet bun, and bbq pork puff, curry chicken bun and they were pretty good, the bun texture was soft and pillowy. The custard was creamy without being too heavy or sweet. The puff pastry felt a bit underbaked though the filling was generous in portion of meat. Would try some other items here for sure!

Family loves Sweet Hut! Guaranteed happiness Our family of four picked up individual fruit tart, plain croissant, chicken puff, and a passion fruit green tea. I wanted mochi with red bean, but they were out when we got there around 8 pm on a Monday. Maybe better luck next time!

Got a delivery as a gift so can't speak to ambiance or service. Got to try the egg tart, a chocolate cupcake, and their taro cake! We enjoyed the egg tart. Cupcake was a bit dry but not bad. Taro cake had too much food coloring and cream for my taste, not too much taro! Overall their smaller items are probably better. Really appreciated the skill in writing a long message with choco ganache tho! Food terminal - 4 stars Came by for takeout and the wait was pretty quick. Guy taking my order was patient with me - I took forever to order bc the menu was so big and beautiful lol it was hard to decide!

We love coming to Sweet Hut--it's our go-to bakery whenever we're craving something sweet. The crispy tofu was delicious with cucumber, carrots, and avocado, and the chicken nuggets were just as good.

Everything was so fresh and delicious! They have a great variety of savory and sweet treats for any palate. Small seating area. The service was friendly and quick.

So much varieties, similar to a 85C Taiwanese bakery chain if you know what I am talking about. Bread is ok, maybe they are better in afternoon or when they are fresh. Cakes are rolls are definitely better, they are in the fridge so quality last longer. I don't know how to describe it but their bakery is ok. Everything is individually wrap. They do have hot drinks so winter time that's a plus. I didn't see anybody order any food. They sure have a lot of customers tho.

    Nina C.

Parking can be a bit challenging when it's really busy bc it's in a small shopping plaza. This was the original location before they opened several others so I wanted to see if the quality was still there. I love their selections of different buns and pastries. Sweet, Savory, donuts, cakes, tarts and of course Boba! My go to is a bbq pork bun - they seriously have the best and have mastered this recipe. It is so consistent. Mozzarella bun- to die for! The bun is slightly sweet and that slightly savory and cheesy texture from the mozzarella, it's a match made in heaven for me. Some more amazing buns: corn and ham, hotdog and spring onion (literally addicting) And one of my favorites is the Portuguese egg tart. If you like custard, egg, creme brulee, or flan...you must get this! Go to boba, Thai tea, sweet hut milk tea, Jasmine green tea with lychee! All of this to say this place is awesome and u can certainly rack up a hefty bill adding all these delicious pastries in your little cart! Lol A plus is they have a rewards program so that's always a nice incentive!

Ask the Community - Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe

Sweet hut often comes up on my gluten free bakery search, what bakery items are actually free if any?

Is Sweet Hut quiet enough for an informal afternoon business meeting or is it hard to hear in this environment? Thanks.

Depends on the day and time. Most weekdays between 2 and 4 should be OK.

Best time to come in for fresh full packed food?

I would definitely call your closest Sweet Hut to ask! It may vary depending on locations. I hope this helps!

Is this a good place to study?

Yes! Really spacious and huge tables. Might want to check for outlets though. Has a cafe style vibe so not ideal for quiet study as there are people coming in and out :)

What happened to the sesame bun? It was so delish and haven't seen them in the store? If anyone knows of another bakery that sells sesame buns, please let me know.

Maybe they sell out quick when I was there they had them in stock

It even has managed to impress friends who don't adventure too far outside of their own American culinary tastes. The sweets here are the perfect amount of sweet. The savory items also contain a perfect hint of sweetness that somehow ties it all together. I've even had a matcha (less sugar) made here and my God it was unexpectedly delicious. I usually spend about $20-ish and share my bag full of goodies with my folks. I love that you can get a lot with a little -- the dollar still stretches here! Sometimes their open hours are a bit off, as if been before during regular hours and they've been closed. I'll also add that the entrance can be confusing as Family Baking shares space or simply is owned by Rolls Village. None of this stops me from stopping by. The cherry on top is that the service is truly phenomenal. I love being greeted where I spend money, and the guy who frequently mans the cash register has such great energy. He's efficient as hell too! When I visited, he skipped through the tipping portion of the POS both times... so I'm not sure if they accept tips but I won't complain too much about that LOL. Go!!!

Overall, I was impressed with the selection of everything. I had K-dogs on the brain for some reason and the closest I could get to that was the pastry frank. My niece had the hash brown bread with ham and cheese. I definitely preferred the latter a bit more, mostly because it's rare to find potatoes served in this way. We took a variety of the mochi donuts home. They tasted a bit stale unfortunately. I'd definitely come back to try the croissants, cakes, and other offerings. Most notable was the cleanliness of the store and the amount of customers coming in and out. I was informed by a young lady at the cash register that the cake would need to be made fresh and it would take anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes to complete. I agreed to wait for the time and provided my card for the purchase and was not provided with a receipt. After 10 minutes, I re-entered the store after waiting in my car and the cake still was not completed. I waited in an additional 20 minutes for the cake. I was handed the box and left on my way. My family and I cut the cake and discovered that there was molded strawberries on top. It was slightly difficult to detect due to the fuzzy white nature of the mold and the cream that was also white in color. We immediately stopped eating the cake. With many festivities happening with our family, we reached out to Paris baguette and was provided with a phone number for the owner to follow up. We have been in correspondence back-and-forth in order to try to rectify this situation, but the response has been somewhat slow, despite the fact, there are photos of the cake and a transaction from the bank, despite not having a receipt. This is a quick situation to fix with issuing a refund and apology, but that has not happened thus far. Our family has consistently used Paris Baguette at various locations for special events and have always been satisfied with the products that we have received. More training perhaps is needed and how to handle a customer who is dissatisfied with the product and also in how to rectify situations moving forward.

Whoops! This is an overdue review from December…read more Xela Pan Cafe is a Guatemalan restaurant/bakery/convenience store on Buford Hwy in Doraville. Just a quick warning that, depending on which employee helps customers, there may be a slight issue with their understanding of English. They absolutely speak and understand Spanish. Xela Pan Cafe is in a small strip mall that is next to the strip mall where Kung Fu Tea is located. There is limited parking in front of the storefronts. This small business is made up of a restaurant, a bakery and a convenience store all run by the same employees. The convenience store sells a lot of seemingly random items, just about all in glass display cases. I noticed a lot of things to help with digestion and upset stomach, and hoped that this wasn't an indication of their food (Thankfully, it turned out that it wasn't!). The bakery items were in a separate area of display cases, but customers are free to self-serve themselves by using a tray to place whatever they choose, using either tongs or disposable gloves (I can't remember which they use) to take the items out of the cases. R and I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning just before 9 am. There is an order counter, but that's for customers who are ordering items to go. Once the employees found out that we were going to eat breakfast inside the restaurant, we were told to seat ourselves and an employee would be by soon with menus. The restaurant area contains mostly booths, with some tables and chairs in an area between the order counter, convenience store and bakery areas. A very helpful and knowledgeable server came by our table, bringing a couple of glasses of water and menus. For a small restaurant, there were many items on the menu. We both ordered the scrambled eggs, rice, black beans, plantains and cheese. We didn't wait very long, in spite of other customers lined up at the counter to order takeout meals. The scrambled eggs with tomato and onion in them tasted a little bland, but I dressed it up with some bottled red hot sauce that was on the table. The plain tasting white rice, which had peas, carrots and corn in it, was pressed into a heart shape. The black beans in its watery sauce were very good. The plantains were cooked to a perfect firmness, and had a perfectly matching natural sweetness to them. The small block of slightly salty cheese also had a nice firmness to it. The price for each meal was very reasonable. Overall, this was a good dining experience.
