Hired to stain our teak deck. The stain faded badly within two months. When I complained, they came back and patched it rather than doing a full restain. That made things worse. The border boards are now a deep warm brown, the main deck surface is a washed-out gray. The color variation is severe and obvious -- you can see exactly where they stopped working. A professional fix means stripping and starting over. What we got was a cheap patch that highlighted the original failure rather than fixing it. read more

I have used this company a few times before for doors and tables, but never for a deck. The job they did was substandard. Horrible! When I complained and sent pictures they said it was because they didn't have the right tools. I said they should have postponed and I asked to speak to Drew. Had them out a couple weeks ago to do a 1000 square foot mangaris deck and Drew did a great job. It was a 2 day job. First day, was a thorough power-wash and scrub with brightener which really helped restore the appearance of the grain and eliminate a lot of the stains. Second day, once the deck was dry, he came back out and applied an oil based sealant that looks fantastic and beads up any water upon contact. They did have to reschedule our original appointment on account of a crew member being out sick, but we got an email the day before giving us a heads up so we weren't too inconvenienced. Overall we're really happy with the quality of the job and service we received and will not hesitate to call these guys again next year. read more

It was hard to reach people by phone at the office. I confirmed the day for the work to be done, this is after they missed their first appointment. Then, the morning of I got an email saying it would be delayed, but I'd be contacted after 8:00am to reschedule. At 4:30 pm I sent an email to find out the plan was given the excuse that scheduling was difficult. The work was completed over a two day period...1 table and 5 chairs. I asked the guys to wait until I returned, but they left early, and the job is bad. Surfaces are not smooth, color and tone are uneven. No one reached out to see if I was satisfied...not a surprise since it's hard to get anyone on the phone. All I've received is a reminder that the bill is due...$1,800 for about six hours of work and an unsatisfactory outcome. read more

The company was a no show for an appointment Aug 3, 2023 which was made at the end of Jun 2023. A call was made a week prior to appointment to confirm. On day of appointment no show, calls were placed to Teak and Deck and no response. When appointments are made customers arrange their schedules and make the proper adjustments for the work to be perform..... Have a deck made of Brazilian hardwood called IPE. It's very difficult to work with. Since these guys do Teak, it was worth a quote. They came out timely, very professional and well reasoned pricing. That was the first step. They came out as planned and did a wonderful job in and out around the rains. But they weren't happy with the job. They did it again! No fuss. I was exited of having this company help me with my deck problem; but Jade was not able to set up a job walk, she did not even bother to call me to follow up, so I was waiting and waiting. Finally I decide to call her and she told me: "I told you Francisco, that I will check the schedule, if you want I can see what is available for next week". Basically, do not call me, just wait. I have a company, we handle scheduling, but we do not treat our clients like that. We call them and explain the options we have so we can accommodate their needs. This company (the owner) came to my house to give a bid to refinish my back redwood deck. It was only built 3 years ago. The owner was very nice, professional and explained verbally how they would refinish the deck. Bottom line is they didn't do they job they quoted, they charged me $300 more than they quoted, the entire job needs to be redone, and they have caused 10x the cost of the job in damage to the property because they decided to use chemical stripping agents instead of sanding. The top of the deck was stained and the bottom painted. Seems crazy for them to even attempt to chemically strip the top of the deck w/out knowing it would damage the paint underneath. Worst of all, they rinsed (does not seem like it would be legal) all of the chemical stripper and material down my drains and when it dried, it turned back into glue and all of the drains under the concrete are now plugged up. 3 plumbers are suggesting we dig up the pipe. The owner has not returned a call or been to the job site since his original bid. The plumbers said there is no way in the world this stuff is allowed down the drain--and these drains go right into the ocean and it says that on them... (we're 15 blocks from the ocean). This is $2000-$20,000 to fix right. As for their job, it has to be totally redone ($3,500) to even the stain and strip everything off again. Additionally, the chemical stripper is peeling off all the deck paint so that has to be stripped and then repainted ($1500) The icing on the cake is they offered a $300 discount if I did all the work they were suggesting. I said yes and they still charged me the first price. This is as clear as possible in 10 emails. I've told them all of this in writing as well as my voice mails...not one call back and then they just billed my credit card the remaining amount due. the pictures will speak for themselves. read more

Klayton and Henry were our teak restorers and we could not have asked for a more professional experience. Both did an exceptional job in sanding, staining, refinishing and restoring our furniture back to what it once was when we purchased the set over 15yrs ago. Klayton and Henry were spot on with their knowledge and came to the job with true expertise. They worked very well as a team, accomplished the job within the day, (which I thought was miraculous), and really did leave our area that they used to refinish cleaner and without a sliver of evidence that they were ever there. Teak and Deck Professionals exceeded our expectations! I would give them 10 stars if that was an option. Adrian, the Office Manager kept us completely updated every step of the process. She emailed to explain that our furniture pieces were two different woods, and would not look the same. (I had no idea - it was all just grey with peeling finishes). They would use the appropriate products for each wood, and although different, each would be beautiful. Our furniture was picked up and delivered exactly as promised. The crew was worried about the possibility of rain, so they took all of our furniture back to their shop to work on it. Our furniture was in TERRIBLE shape, the wrong product had been applied, parts were cracked and broken. TDP restored everything beautifully - I almost didn't recognize it as our furniture! When they brought our furniture back, they replaced it exactly where it had been, and touched up everything on site to be sure that all finishes were perfect. Went searching to find the right people to take care of a beautiful Brown Jordan table we have had for 25 years. Jade (in the office) was informative did a good job explaining the different levels of service available without selling anything - she was all about educating me based on what I said my goal was (the most natural look & color, and not making it a warmer color etc) so I super appreciate that. Another company I'd called was rushed and somewhat dismissive in that know-it-all sense which is a real turn-off, so I really appreciate Jade's help. I got an appt and she called me with a sooner opening, which I also super appreciated since I was trying to get the job done before a party, and she made it happen! The technicians who came out, Shad and Jay - can't say enough good things about them too. You'd never know they were there when they left except that I didn't recognize my furniture because it looked AMAZING and so much better! I could have just let them do the job and not asked questions, but I was curious about the process and they explained everything they were doing and why. Really nice and happy guys who are passionate about what they do and the results they get. They really understood the technical aspect of what they were doing - this is a piece of furniture approaching an heirloom status - a 25 year old Brown Jordan table wasn't cheap even back then and Shad & Jay really take a lot of pride in doing what they do with care and making sure that the results exceeded the expectations.
