I can't think of anything more stressful than coming back from a catastrophic fire in your home. The first thing you might realize is that your insurance company is not on your side. Potential contractors show up, and many of them are disturbingly excited by your disaster. You may begin to wonder who you can trust. You can trust Team 1. Marshall and his team have decades of experience. Like every house, there were things in ours that are unusual, and because of his experience, Marshall went nose to nose with the adjuster to make sure we received everything that was due us. The difference between what the insurance company offered and what Team 1 helped them understand they needed to cover was already worth thousands of dollars before the work even began. You are going to face decision fatigue if you have to rebuild your home. What type of faucet? What finish? Paint? Appliances? One day I was on the phone with Team 1's design team for most of an afternoon. I hung up and collapsed, they carried on with another client as far as I know. We had some pretty clear ideas of what we wanted when the job was done, and it meant extra work for both of us. Kristi took our requests in stride, and more importantly let us know when what we were thinking about was not wise. She offered alternatives that made sense, and if we still wanted what we wanted, she helped make it happen. They were clear, frequent communicators in a process that took over a year. Things are going to go sideways sometimes, things no one anticipated are going to blow up. Team 1's experience minimized these inevitable events, and they were gracious and patient when we struggled to understand. At one point, the pandemic made it nearly impossible to source something very important to our satisfaction. In a meeting where I think I went full Karen, Marshall kept his cool, and, even though he didn't have to, they fixed it for us. Team 1 has old school integrity and customer service. You will not do better. During the final walkthrough our fatigue was showing. We noticed every tiny little thing. They wrote it all down, touched it all up. There was even a problem we discovered after move-in that no one anticipated - it was unclear if it was related to the claim. Marshall had his guy go look at it. He explained the process and alternatives if the problem turned out to be extensive, and when it was minor, he went ahead and had his guy fix it for us. The house is beautifully restored. When our house fire happened we were stunned, confused, and devastated. In the days following our fire we were inundated with calls and visits from so many companies it was scary and overwhelming. These guys are a breath of fresh air! We had one of our commercial offices burn down and we were loosing money every day we couldn't work. Rebuilding the office was easy, but getting the insurance company to move as quick as we wanted them to was a serious challenge. My mother had a fire in her house which was caused by electrical short circuit. The house insurance did not cover upgrading of electrical coding which could have been a very big problem. Team 1 Restoration sure enough came up with a plan to help us get back our house completely renovated from top to bottom. I had a pipe burst in my garage and ruin a few walls and destroyed the water heater and soak through to part of the inside of the house. I was about to put my house on the market, so I needed a rapid and perfect repair. They worked with my insurance, contractors and the plumber to rapidly get things fixed. I'm impressed with their integrity and commitment to doing a good job: they did a fabulous job informing me about the process and they did exceptional repair work. Absolutely HORRIBLE company! Dishonest scam artists. We had a small fire in our home and they took over one-year to restore our home. After talking to several contractors, it should have taken 3-4 months. They tried to replace damaged items with things of much less quality than we had. Weeks would pass and there were no workers at our home and no communication unless we called. Now that we're back in our home, we are finding new things everyday that they screwed up. I have dealt with many contractors in the past thirty years. Some are really bad and some are just acceptable. Team 1 Restoration did a fantastic job in repairing damage to my home caused by a fire. In the end we were totally happy with their work. In June 2017, Team 1 of Temecula was referred to me by Allstate Insurance. They started off very helpful and compassionate, but ended up being very dishonest and scandalous, in my opinion. Charging for things that were not needed, to increase costs that, I believe, they thought our insurance would cover. In July, out of the blue, we got slammed with a bill for thousands of dollars for "mold remediation". We were told on June 17th, 2017 that there was no mold, via text message, (which we still have). When we asked for a positive mold test, they said they never tested for mold. Stating that they didn't need to, "it wasn't protocol". How can you charge someone thousands of dollars for "mold remediation" with out their knowledge, and not have a "positive mold test" performed? Team 1 did not use gloves to handle the so called "dangerous mold" or cover our floor to protect it from the mold, (via pictures taken). Their reason being, "it wasn't required under their license", to wear gloves. "Washing their hands with soap and water was sufficient". But they charged thousands of dollars, for machines, to protect us from the mold??? And yet they did not use Gloves or Flooring Coverings to Protect Themselves!....What??? Charging thousands to treat "dangerous mold" without protective gloves or protecting the flooring, or themselves.....I think, just scandalous. Communication was very poor with Team 1, they didn't contact us at all after June 27th until we contacted them on July 11th. We trusted that Team 1 had done the repairs and everything was good, only to find out that our rental still had a hole in the ceiling and no repairs had been started. This was the same day they hit us with this crazy, "mold remediation" bill. We also found out that the guy that was helping us, had stopped working for Team 1 weeks ago. Not a word from Team 1 for weeks...This company ended up being a bad recommendation of help for us. We could keep arguing, with the owner and his worker, about their dishonesty; but due to a serious medical condition, we just need to be done with this company today, in September, with a hole still in our ceiling. I would absolutely not, recommend Team 1 to anyone. I hope this review helps Team 1 become a better, "trust worthy" company. We put our faith in these strangers to help us in a time of need, only to be taken advantage of...very sad. read more

Team 1 Restoration is great! It's never fun to have an emergency pipe burst or have an unexpected fire in your home. The smoke damage is something that needs to be addressed immediately. I have used Team 1 and was very happy with there follow up and quality work, Marshall was very responsive to our questions and I thank them for taking a difficult situation and making it as painless as possible. Dylan did a great job managing the project, and taking care of some small items that we did not even catch. Have waited a long time to leave this review. Did so b/c we wanted to be out of the "warranty" period before we posted this review, in case Team1 decided not to "warranty" something due to the review... Our story is our kitchen burned - wall and ceiling. Insurance called A different company, Servpro, and they quoted very low$ figure. Team1, who monitors fire radio, showed up on our doorstep next morning and basically offered us much much more. They said the owner used to work for/with home insurance company and basically knows how to milk the system. Said they would be able to get us a whole new kitchen, and more... so, we signed and prayed. Well, 10 months later, we were back in the house with a new kitchen that WE payed for, not the insurance company. During those 10 months, there were many weeks upon weeks when NOBODY showed up at the job site. Most of the time it was one or two people that my wife had to babysit the entire time because if she didn't, the work would be shotty and almost guaranteed to be wrong. They had to build the cabinets more than 3 times b/c they were wrong. They had to do the trim throughout the entire house twice b/c the workmanship was so poor! They cut the irreplaceable kitchen granite and bathroom marble incorrectly and had to purchase new material (which was/is not as beautiful as the originals that we had painstakingly chosen). On and on and on. I had to go over the 100k budget that we personally spent line- by-line with them on several occasions so that they would actually complete the work they said they would. Gary was the original cold-call salesman- he's a liar, watch out for him. JP is one of the project managers - he is clueless and worthless (with regard to industry knowledge), watch out for him. The subcontractors were pretty crappy throughout the entire process, charging a ton for poor quality (of which we had to babysit the entire 10 months). The person who was most reasonable was actually the owner, Marshall, but not easy to get that guy out to the job site. Almost feel sorry for the guy b/c he has made such bad choices on who he employs and overbooking his company's schedule. That being said, there was one quality guy Dillion, who genuinely cared and attempted to assist us - and he's the reason Team1 gets 2 stars instead of one. In the end, we would've fired them more than two times into the whole ordeal, and I had to write three page letters to them to describe how to fix their problems. The reason we did not fire them is because they had all of our belongings in the house at their storage facility. I did not want to get into a legal battle with them. Unfortunately, we made the best decision we could at the time because we did not have plans to renovate our house at that time. Knowing what I know now, and hindsight being 20/20, there's no way we would've used this company. However, I can't to say that I wouldn't have made any decisions differently because I didn't know then what I know now. read more
