He's a project manager who works from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm then puts his phone on silence. While he has guys working late hours and on weekends. We worked with Hero Restoration on an insurance claim beginning in May 2025 and received insurance approval a couple of months later. Once the insurance company approved their estimate, we reached out to Hero for next steps. After a couple of meetings, our project manager stopped returning calls. I left several messages with their corporate office, but none were returned. After a few weeks of no response, we decided to restart the process with other restoration companies. In speaking with multiple firms, it became clear that Hero had significantly underestimated the true cost of the work - likely explaining why communication stopped altogether. Overall, the lack of follow-through and communication caused unnecessary delays during an already stressful situation. I do not recommend this business. read more

Strongly recommend against hiring this company. Little to no integrity and nominal work quality. It was a generally poor customer experience in working with Hero Restoration. In reading other reviews, the company has demonstrated the ability to do a good job - just not this time. Lots of things promised by the company that never happened, delays of work, and an ever changing cast of supervisors. Hero restoration did an amazing job! I love the way everything turned out. David was the lead and really was the best! He was very informative and patient with me. My house had a leak and flooded my home in July. It was a nightmare dealing with the insurance. I contacted Hero restoration in October. David made the situation so much easier for me. He contacted the adjuster and was able to get things done even with some back and forth he made the whole situation less stressful for myself. Still working on a few things for approval but I'm finally back home and my house is beautiful. Very great quality work and materials. The workers that were here were very nice and I believe his name was Roberto was very helpful and attentive. I would not wish this on anyone else but in the event I know someone in the situation I definitely would refer them to David! Tony called the Cfo I had helping. Tony denied he said no to warranty repairs. I had a CFOand a Builder and a Cabinet maker inspecting this renovation.We met at least 5 times with the CFO writing things down and having Tony sign. The last agreement was the warranty. Tony voided the agreement and the warranty. One of the repairs is taking the bolt out of the stucco from the bay window change. They didn't stucco and seal the outside wall of the house. Two of the inside doors slams by themselves. We asked him to remove 2 tiles because there trip hazards. We asked him to replace a toilet seal. He agreed to do it and changed his mind. His cabinet men came in and did new caulking in the kitchen. They let him know it needed a scribe above the pantry. He said no. We didn't ask for much. Some of it should of been in the install. When he says No to warranty repair. He has no business contacting the CFO who spent many hours trying to straighten out this whole house restoration. He didn't call me and I am the owner. The warranty repairs were not unreasonable. I specially asked him not to void the agreement and the warranty. Tony does not like his review which is very honest. We had to have a CFO the whole time. TONY would lie to us twice in front of the CFO when the CFO asked he told the truth. Don't like you're reviews Tony...do you're warranty work. Absolutely no referrals for business for you. You put you're signature on the agreement warranty. That is legal and binding. I will take of the work you should be doing. read more

On July 2023 of last year my family and I experienced a major leak in our home. We contacted express dry directly and this was the second time and I felt comfortable with his estimate and direct relationship with doing their best to make our lives less stressful. Because of the extreme damages and my family and I had to move out of our home for 3 full months. In November I signed a completion to a finished project. Because the extreme stress I was under did not think from this point I would have any other issues as Roger and I had been in contact with each other and I was letting him know the huge box of trash, contractors trash and toilet as well as the open floor would be a major depression for me to continuously look at for months on end. This trash stayed in my home in the living room floor until it was removed in April 2024. The actual flooring was completed in May 2024. Now I am being threatened by a collection company and threatened to be sued because I have asked this company to reduce the overall cost of this project seeing that they failed to complete the work as well as pick up trash in a timely manner. Vents were left off as well. Please think twice about hiring this company to do work for you. As they will not make any adjustment in cost even after they left my home like this. 9/6/2024 Crystal I which I would have done more research on your company. As I was getting ready to write my own review I noticed I am not the only customer you have treated like this. I am not going to go back and forth with you. I just had some work done at my home by Hero Restoration and they did an, overall, excellent job! My home's flooring got some water damage because of a water heater leak and Hero was the company recommended to me for the repairs, with Bryan Varela as the project manager and my main point of contact. Initially, I was a bit skeptical as there were some communication issues between us but Bryan was a true pro and gentleman. He reached out to me and we hashed out our issues, each of us apologizing for our role in things. Because of that, we were able to forge a better understanding, with better communication and things were smooth sailing after that. He's the type of pro who doesn't shy away from having those tough conversations and will treat a client with respect. More vendors and business people, as a whole, could stand to learn a lot from Bryan in terms of customer service and professionalism. In the end, my home's repairs were finished a few days ahead of schedule and the new floors look great! Bryan helped me pick out something that not only looked great but also best served my family's needs. I strongly recommend to avoid using Hero Restoration! This is a terrible company that I only ended up using due to one of the water damage/ drying companies working with them. The issues I have are with visible items and it really makes me worry about the quality of their work that I cannot see. Keep in mind that every photo is after they completed work and were ready for me to make final payment. If not for the time to replace, then I would have all of their work completely redone by a qualified and reputable company (and I will likely still redo their low quality work). Do yourself big favor and avoid this company! Issues: -Low quality and little to no desire to correct -Lack basic attention to detail: workers and management -Zero cleanup -Basic tasks are difficult -Cash poor. Trying to get final payment before all work is complete. -Slow. Ending up taking ~2 months longer than quoted. Pictures: keep in mind every issue was deemed acceptable by Hero Restoration, or missed, and they wanted me to complete final payment. More detail: -Dimensions are off with tiles not lining up from wall to wall, when they should, and group gaps being excessive. The lines go from no gap, to acceptable gap, to grout gaps of 1/2" +. There were a lot of other attention to detail issues - some fixed and some not. -Painting was a huge issue. I had the paint and they just needed to use it. They would use the wrong sheen on multiple major paints or just touch ups. There was something like fIve days of paint touch ups because they kept making the problem worse every time. Other issues were not doing grout well, grout color not consistent in area, clear silicone over blue painters tape, and countless other issues. -Pointed out many issues and the on-site contractor would make comments like "not sure if we can correct because it will take too much time. I'll have to call." -No cleanup. Left filthy and then issues with water drainage because they used the shower drain as a trash chute. read more

Tony (owner of this company) sent out a painter to my house and the owner reassured me that everything was safe to just go ahead and leave my garage opener somewhere hidden and that they will make sure to lock the house up or make sure to wait for me till I got home From running errands to secure the location. I rushed home from my errands because I was alerted that my Internet was disconnected. He disconnected my Internet because he knew that my cameras obviously needed the Internet to monitor the house. When I came back home, the painter was quickly leaving and had his trunk filled with stuff and covered with a tarmac. I did not think really anything of it because I had so much stuff in my garage and I had a storage unit in my driveway. I started clearing up the garage and the storage unit after all the Construction was completed. We started looking for certain items that were completely gone! He stole over $1000 worth of my stuff, my mom's belongings and my sons! I did not make anything of it for a while because my mom was dying and she finally passed away and I now have the right mind too Make this statement. I have filed the police report and will be taking them to court! This is the very shady company. I am a single mom, and at that time was a caregiver for my elderly mother. Mind you, my elderly mother was in the house, while this guy ransacked my garage and helped himself to whatever he wanted! He should be ashamed of himself as well as this company. Wish I could give them 0 stars. I would definitely not recommend it. The craftsmanship was terrible, really sloppy work. The "Contractor," Roger, rarely ever came by to oversee the work, and I'm not really sure he would have known anything anyway. What should have taken a week took over a month. They never even finished putting the baseboard or part of the drywall in the garage. There was no attention to detail, and the craftsmanship was terrible, not to mention they messed up my dishwasher, and I had to get it serviced. They never followed up to finish and fix anything. Finally, the manager, Tony, came out and agreed the work was sloppy and decided to credit money off the final bill; I didn't think I should have to pay anything. I also went through my insurance for the emergency leak and water damage to my two bathrooms. The emergency leak and insurance claim process started July 2021 and I hired Hero Restoration in August 2021 after Express Dry did their job to dry out the water damage before the repairs could start. I would NEVER recommend Hero Restoration or Tony Lara. I would leave zero stars if possible. It is now a year later since my emergency leak and claim process started - this is unacceptable. I now have to work with a new contractor to fix the additional leaks and damages caused by the "completed" work done by Tony Lara and Hero Restoration. Photos added for documentation. I had a slab leak that required the entire first floor to get demoed. I originally called Dry County Restoration but they ghosted me after they couldn't agree on the rebuild cost with my insurance adjuster, it was like a $30,000 difference. It turned out they were inflating the quote with a bunch of BS. I called Hero Restoration to give me a quote to compare with my adjuster's quote and it was only like $120 difference. I had a very good experience with Hero, and especially David Leon was very helpful and always available. Considering the multiple subcontractors, he did a great job, I had some minor issues with the way I needed things done, and David went the extra mile. They did extra duty to match colors in the house, even when I said the stock color was good enough (the color had changed from the vendor over the years) and insisted in getting custom matched color that came out great. Also my wife is home soon from a heart transplant, and there can be no dust at all in the house, since transplant patients are very sensitive to anything in their lungs. Even though the drywall repair was minimal, David bought 4 brand new HEPA air filters to ensure no issues, again above and beyond. Finally even though I have great insurance (these repairs from a water leak), you know the insurance companies always lowball, and Hero negotiated a much more realistic price and got me the quality and experience I had hoped for.
