I was in the market for a new beach cruiser. My old one was the same model (Electra 7 speed). However, the frame was too small for me, and I needed to put air in the tires weekly. Nonetheless, I am not gonna complain too much: The old bike was free. My neighbors recommended TBS, and I'm glad they did. Not only did they have the same model I was looking for, the new model has a light aluminum frame. It is so much easier to put on the bike rack of my SUV vs the old, heavier steel frame model. Additionally, the frame is taller so I don't feel like I am riding a tricycle like my old bike. Lastly, the new bike was $50 off: Score! Mike (who I believe is the owner), is a super nice guy. In addition, he is very knowledgable about bikes. The bike shop is large and has a lot of models to choose from. The previous bike shop I frequented (now closed), had half the floor space for bikes. TBS is my new go to place in HB for bikes. I will obvi need tires and service in the future. TBS has my loyalty. read more

Wow, completely blown away by the experience we had here. Came in a few days before Thanksgiving during holiday break and was hoping for a same-day, tune up / bike service (I know, good luck with that one, right?!?). We called around EVERYWHERE and most of the turn around times were quoting a week out, past the time when we were available to ride as a family. We settled on Team Bicycle Shop because they had the quickest turn around time of a few days, as well as the best customer service on the phone; they answered all of our n00b questions with care and consideration. We're avid mountain bikers, but new to the area and admittedly not as familiar with bike maintenance aspects as we should be. Well, thank goodness for this little gem in HB. We dropped off our bikes for a very reasonable $99/each (full service) and were expecting to have our bikes back (depending on what the diagnosis was) within a few days. NOPE! Team Bicycle managed to get the job done SAME DAY! They were short staffed and still put in the work to make it happen. We were blown away. Not to mention, the owner stayed late and kept the shop open past closing so we could come pick up our bikes that same evening. If that's not above and beyond five stars, I don't know what is. The owner (Mike) quoted me a price to repair my bike, which was pretty high. I needed the bike repaired fast as I promised to loan it out. Mike said he had the part, and it would take a couple of days. The part was $40 & labor $35. I called & secured the quote prior to going to the shop because every other time I've been there, Mike tries upselling me. Once at the shop, Mike started in with the upsell. I agreed to a total cost of $100. After promising the repair would only take a couple of days the bike wasn't finished for a week and a half. Mike never even called me to explain the delays time frame. The final bill was $170. I will never set foot in this place again and screem from the hill tops that Mike at Team Bicycles is a thief. And had it ready for me to pick up within four hours. Fixing both of my shifters and cleaning up 20 years worth of dust, rust, built up grease and grime. I've been here a few of times and while Mike's service has consistently been on the bland side I was willing to overlook it as long as the work met my expectations. However, my last experience here was nothing short of bizarre. I called in advance because I needed two 16 inch wheels laced on my son's vintage bike. I don't know the exact size or length of the spokes so a couple of days later I brought the bike in. When I arrived the shop was empty and Mike and I started to walk outside to see my sons bike. Just as we walked outside another customer pulled up and Mike asks me to wait a minute while he attended to them instead. The new customer had two road bikes that both needed full service, so instead of asking the newcomer to wait 1 or 2 minutes while he just measured my spokes I stood there waiting patiently for 25 minutes while he helped them. Ultimately, he tells the other guy that one of his bikes will be ready by the upcoming weekend and his second bike will be ready the following week (after X-Mas). So when Mike finally finishes with the other customer he tells me that he's way too busy because of the upcoming Holiday and I should check back with him after X-Mas. I think anybody would already be very turned off by that interaction. But I called after X-Mas as Mike suggested and when I reminded him who I was he promptly says he's too busy at the moment but he'll call me back shortly. Needless to say, it's now been three weeks and I've never heard back from him. What made my recent experience truly bizarre was observing Mike's extremely friendly and accommodating demeanor with the other customer, essentially giving them the red carpet treatment, but then for some strange reason he gives me the back of the bus treatment. Just imagine this scenario playing out at a restaurant or any other place of business - understandably, anybody else would also feel very offended. The bottom line is, I'm not a fan of Mike's JeKKKyl and Hyde routine so I won't be coming back. read more

Easily could spend half a day personalizing your your new wheels at the bike shop as I had. Adjusting the height of the seat, the angle of the seat, the handlebars, adding a bell, how the bell sounds or looks, adding a basket... Helmet and other biking comforts. It has been over 15 years since I got a new bike and getting my first test run on the new wheels in their parking lot, I immediately felt giddy!! All fun!! Crew here is awesome!!!
