You obviously need to load your bike if you're buying one. It's $5 for an hour and you can't add time! So if the store takes longer than an hour to put your bike together you get a ticket. You also can't re park and all nearby parking is too far to load a bike. You spend 2400 and get in trouble for using the parking lot is actually insane. Came back today to buy a third bike after my friend told me about the gnarly sale they were having. The deal was even better than what we had just gotten a couple weeks ago. I knew exactly what I wanted and Dorothy was quick to help. We bought the RadExpand 5 Plus in blue/grey. They included for FREE the bike rack valued at $500 and a FREE accessory. Couldn't pass that up. They told us the bike would be done in a couple hours. We went to lunch and got the call it was done maybe 1.5 hours later. Great experience. Awesome service. I use to love Rad power bikes i loved my rad runner till the issues began and customer service was no help and only wants to sell parts or there authorized vendor repair also no help. I have had a motor come apart due to factory not putting any locate on the screws. After fixing there mistake after reaching out to authorized repair was told not covered so fixed myself. Then motor is whine is worse. Broken spokes nope not covered. Then battery fire nope not covered even know was within the 2 year period all they do is tell you about the bankruptcy and such not take care of a customer. Honestly I'd look at other options. I was dealing recently with Larry and Kayla. Good luck if you need something so sad. I chose rad when upgrading from lectric which lectric had amazing customer service for rad because I was told about the quality and customer service they had from other friends definitely not the case after the bankruptcy. read more

New review Feb.19.2025. My battery went bad on my Rover 6 Plus. They gave me a new one and I appreciate any brand that backs their products as well as Rad. I love my Rad and have recommended it to several friends who went to Huntington Beach store to purchase. They are very nice, friendly and you can test ride the bikes they have. This is a slow season for them and they have some great deals so it is not crowded right now. if you are thinking of getting an e-bike go to the retail store in HB before you do anything else. They ride better than bikes costing double and they are very durable. Their service is excellent! The bikes are even better. A million stars recommendation for Rad Power Bikes. My first RadRover 6 plus got stolen last week and I loved it. But I took the opportunity to ride bikes in all sizes and up to $6000 and I found my bike ... another RadRover 6 plus. We appreciate this store for the quality of Rad bikes and their accessories. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Expect to pay a couple hundred more than sticker price if you want to bring it home professionally built and want accessories like fenders, mirror, and wheel lock, etc... The back comes with a rack but you have option of adding a basket (front and/or back) and other attachments. We opted to not get baskets. The rack holds a backpack or violin with bungee straps. So our $1399 price tag was more like $1800+ with the build, mirror, fender and install, wheel lock, and second folding lock. It's a great bike (Rad Runner2). Daughter has been using daily for 2 months with no issues at all. Battery stays charged for like 2 weeks (or 1 + week if only using throttle no pedal 25 miles) before needing a recharge. read more

Was very interested in getting a commuter e bike and came here to do a test ride. We ride the Rad Mission and loved it! The throttle on the right allows you that extra energy to ride when coming from a complete stop. Handles and brakes well. It's the lightest of bikes and for about $800-900 depending on if you get other accessories. We were sold and purchased one online since none were in stock. Delivery was quick and installment easy. We also took it to a local bike shop for a brake adjustment just to make sure we installed it right! Took it for a practice run of my commute and it really is a game changer! Although I got exercise it didn't leave me sweating too much which is what I need for commuting purposes. Let's all start bike commuting!!! Would have given 5 stars BUT had a run in with the Manager who left a BAD taste in our mouths. This was our experience. We called ahead to get more information on renting. We initially spoke with Dorothy and got pricing and availability. When we called back to reserve we spoke with Kevin who was really nice and helpful. He advised us that we could arrive a little before they open to pick up our reserved bikes. We arrived 20 minutes before opening, found Kevin and got all set upon our bikes that were waiting for us. We left the shop and were on the sidewalk to where we were stopped by a woman asking if we were excited about renting. She then proceeded to ask where we were going to ride, which we weren't sure at this point then asked if we were keeping the bikes inside since we rented for 2 days. We advised that the bikes would be kept outside overnight since we were staying at 1 of the RV parks nearby. We advised that Kevin went over how to use the locks and we could cover them with a tarp, we also have dogs and could put them in the back of our truck even that has a locking system built into the bed. The woman (who we found out was Dorothy), dramatically advised that she would never have rented the bikes to us and that they have bikes stolen all the time. She continued to go on and on about not renting to us when Kevin came outside to the sidewalk and told Dorothy it's fine, the bikes will be fine. At 1 point I interrupted her dramatic rant and told her we didn't need to rent from them. Kevin also interrupting her so we could be on our way. The entire encounter was ridiculous and frustrating. Not that age should matter, but we're over 50, own our own e bikes at home and understand theft....then to top off the situation, 1 of the locks didn't even work because it had the wrong key! We did enjoy the bikes, but the rental experience wasn't enjoyable. If it wasn't for Kevin we would not have rented!!!! read more

We purchased our bikes from Rad over a year ago, and I previously noted on Google reviews what an amazing experience that was. This review is specifically for the unscheduled, emergency repair my son's bike needed. While riding near Rad, my son's bike picked up a strap that became lodged in his brake and tangled around the caliper, causing the bike to come to a complete stop. We managed to carry it to Rad, where they quickly (and graciously) helped us resolve the issue. They took apart the back part of the bike to remove all the bits of the strap material and got it working again. Even though we didn't have an appointment, and they were very busy due to the holiday weekend, they made it a priority to fix the bike so we could get home with both bikes. Purchased 2 new runners from the store in Chula Vista absolutely love them. The Huntington Beach store is not as user friendly Im guessing because of the snobby demographics and the average entitled customer wants to take up WAY too much time but this is not the stores fault. Once I waited for a bit I was taken care of promptly purchasing a Rover and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything i needed. The service guys installed a basket as well quickly and no charge. Went back again a few weeks ago and purchased our 4th Rad expand5 because we couldn't pass up the value. Havent had any issues other than popped tires due to riding through a field full of goat heads. Do yourself a favor and purchase a couple spare inner tubes and the better tool kit offered and cary it with you with a mini bike pump. Dont get stuck with a flat also have 6 mini zip ties in the kit in case you have to replace the rear tube as you will need to cut the zip ties for the motor drive wire to remove the rear wheel. read more

Call the store and they answer but you are invited to "leave a message" don't hold your breath, they never call back. Call their head office for help and you will be thanked for your continued patience or "please continue to wait and an agent will be with you shortly" while some annoying tune (that is in auto repeat) continues to violate your brain. The purchase was a decent experience but the store and the company's service after the purchase is horrible (with a silent f'kn). If you buy one, good luck. My husband and I went camping to Bolsa chica. We took our bikes for a ride, and 1 of the bikes pedal assist stopped working. We stopped in Huntington Beach Rad bike shop ready to just drop it off. Spoke to Dan provided excellent services. After explaining to him we were far away from our campsite he went and got Kevin, to assist diagnosing the problem. They were able to see a connection problem, lose wire. Simple fix. They were able to replace it right then and there at no charge. That just made my day, made me so happy. 1st experience didn't know what to expect. I thank both Kevin and Dan for providing excentllent services. Very knowledgeable, professional and very friendly. The bikes are crap. We bought 2 Rovers and controller went out on one within the first year. Battery died on the other one at one year. Now bike with the new battery will not power on. We are also on second charger for one of the bikes. Bikes are only 15 months old. We stopped in last weekend with friends to rent bikes and met with the rudest staff ever. We called the day before to make sure they could accommodate rentals and then showed up and were told they were short staffed and too busy to be checking out bikes. We laughed in shock as the 4 staff who were standing at the counter doing visibly nothing but bullshitting with another telling us this. Now, if they were not so rude about it I may have been understanding, but their attitude sucked! We went down the street and were met with kindness from another rental shop. I believe our fiends, who suggested we go to check out RadPower bikes, were more upset as they made the plans for the day. I believe they spoke with manager the next day, hope he makes it right.
