I had a friend who stayed here for a few weeks after he was in the hospital. His initial intention…read morewas to go to the gold coast location because it is closer to his residence in the Mag Mile/Gold Coast area. Because there weren't any rooms available at that particular time, (I guess because they are usually pretty full- who knows) they promised him that they could accommodate him in one week later and offer him a room at the South Loop location until that time. When I visited him there for the first time I was really confused because it looks like the hotel. I thought maybe I was in the wrong building. His therapy went really well and the care was second to none. This is what I felt and this is what his family felt. He really did not want to leave when his room at the Gold Coast location was available in fact he stayed a week longer. I think that says a lot about the place and the staff. He only agreed to switch locations because it it was closer to his family and friends who mostly don't drive. Bottom line is that he was treated with the utmost care by the staff and I feel like they went above and beyond every day to make his life better and to ultimately get him back home. The one drawback that I remember is that, at the time, there was a brand-new therapy gym under construction that he didn't get to use. His therapy quality was not affected though because he was improving the heck of a lot every time I saw him. I saw him 2 times a week if i recall coreectly Im going to to go back to check on the therapy gym...just out of curiosity :)

Some CNAs are just lazy and not professionally trained well that when I need them to come and clean my poops bucket, they did not want to rinse the poops bucket, instead they just empty it by dumping the poops into the toilet bowl without at least rinse the dirty and smelly bucket first, and the black female CNAs just put a plastic bag as a liner over the bucket???!!! Very disgusting and unsanitized behavior and unprofessional with an attitude when you ask her to do the right way of cleaning the bucket, she gave me the excuse of saying she is not a maid??!! I was so shocked, trust me even if I need a maid that I wouldn't even consider her as an candidate!!! Oh. NO, NEVER!!!! The food here is very disgusting and nasty most of the times!!! I have to get ordered food from outside, from restaurants or from home!!! I would took them an hour to come to response to you calls to clean my poops bucket!!! They just acted like ghost fading away for a long time and came back with excuses of they were changing shifts that kinds of nonsense all the times!!!

However, all that went out the door when I stopped in for UI Health for my first physical therapy session and I am now a fan. I was recently diagnosed with Achilles Tendinopathy and was recommended by my doctor to seek out physical therapy. This UI Health location was the closest to me and was recommended by colleagues that have gone in for sessions prior for their rehabilitation needs. I made the appointment with Laura over the phone (who was the sweetest btw) and off I went to my first session earlier today. I worked with Dr. Bri DeBiasi and she was the absolute best. She guided me through the symptoms I was seeing, was incredibly reaffirming, and ensured that I left with the right tools and exercises equipped to begin my recovery. Our 45 minute session flew by quickly and I felt extremely comfortable working with her, and in no way did I feel forced or coerced into doing something I was not comfortable doing. I've got my next five sessions booked with this clinic and can't recommend them enough. Their receptionist staff (I worked with Lisa who was also fantastic) made everything super easy for me and I look forward to my next session. Highly recommend if you are in the UIC area and in search for great physical therapists.

I will never be returning to this clinic and will ensure none of my friends or family members ever receive care here either. I received a diagnosis for a condition and was never contacted by my physician to discuss the diagnosis or figure out a treatment plan. I called four times to try to get in contact with my doctor, with no response. They finally told me that I had to schedule an appointment to talk to my doctor about my diagnosis, and offered dates weeks out. It is unprofessional and dangerous to give patients a chronic diagnosis and not be available to support them after giving the diagnosis.

My husband who had a stroke and is aphasiac had to wait to go to bathroom because they couldn't understand him and they did not check on him regularly. One nurse actually had the gall to say, well he just went a couple hours ago and was not happy she had to help, him. The level of therapy is substandard and I don't think they clean the objects, tools they need to help speech therapy. They used real fruit, how do they clean a porous piece of fruit after use.I watched numerous unsanitary conditions in physical, therapy. They treat patients like a nuisance instead of,offering compassionate care and understanding. Several items were not written down. When it was time to go home, one aid rolled the wheelchair to the front entrance and left us. No help to get to a vehicle just here you go, bye. I had to push my hubby out in a wheelchair, along with several bags and suitcases, plus a walker.I am 69 years old this was horrible. And check, out my husbands referral paper when he was discharged .NOT EVEN HIS. This facility also lost his $6,000 hearing aids and didn't care.
