My son had been training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for a number of years before we joined Team Wise. The training is excellent in both the BJJ and cardio/crossfit classes. It became clear why their competition team has been successful for so many years. Since we joined my son's has had a ton of success in competition, made great friends, and understands BJJ technique. I have my son going here and the trainers are excellent. They give great lessons/trainings and they really work you out. My son hated other programs I put him in yet loves this one. I love their strength and conditioning class and the fellow members are supportive of you (even when you're not fit like me) and help push you to be your best. EXCELLENT facility! My son just started as a beginner. He is six years old and he goes there 2 days a week for an hour of training. The best part about this gym is how diverse it is. I love seeing people of all ages, gender and race coming together to get a good work out in and learn some impressive skills. The coaches, Coach Riley and Coach Tiffany in particular, are amazing. They are tough on the kids but not in a psycho way. They don't demand a lot but want the kids and adults to really learn the moves and get a good work out in. The people here are having a blast. The owner is really amazing and extremely approachable. Prices are reasonable too. If you need a good gym for yourself or your children, this is the place to go. read more

The coaches and the people at Alderwood Mixed Martial Arts are awesome. Even though some students get medals at Jiujitsu completions all the time, they do not skimp on workout. I proud of them. By the way,I think the secret of their strength is that Coach Eric and Coach Riley teaches us about the complex skills in a simple way. Also, when we do demonstration matches in Jiujitsu class, the Coaches always encourage me, so I make up my mind to give more effort. Recommend to everyone! read more

I went here a few years ago and I absolutely loved it. Aric the coach is extremely knowledgable and very good at what he does. All the staff there is so helpful and friendly. This is a good place to go if you're looking to lose some weight quickly or if you are looking to become a fighter. I highly recommend this place. Last I was there they did classes for kids as well, which is an added plus. There is a misconception with mma gyms that you will get hurt or punched all the time, and that is not true. In fact the coaches don't really allow that unless you are training for a fight. If you are skeptical about doing mma, I urge you to just give it a try, you would be very surprised how good it makes you feel. read more

I went in to check out the facility and the staff was quick to welcome me in and make me feel comfortable about being there. They were great about answering questions and offered to let me join in on a boxing/kickboxing and yoga class before price was even discussed. I took both classes and really liked them. The instructors and even guys in the class were good about offering advice on technique and encouragement. Good place if you want small classes and a positive enviornment. read more

Coach Riley helped me change my life to a healthy one. I started there 3 years ago at a fat 40 pounds heavier and 46 years old. With Coach Riley he is excellent at pushing you hard but making it seem like you're just having fun and I hate to miss a single class. Through Coach Riley BJJ has made me better at everything in life. Also, when you meet Coach Aric you understand why Riley is so good. What a team and great family atmosphere, I bring my daughter's in whenever I can and my nephew goes now consistently with me. For starters, they have one of the best kids jiu-jitsu programs in the country but what separates this gym from others is the family environment. This is a special, high caliber organization. We are newer to Jiu Jitsu and I wasn't really sure what to expect when we started last year. I was immediately impressed with the welcoming atmosphere, where people are genuinely happy to be there. Both of my kids started participating in the Jiu Jitsu classes, and as first timers, they fell in love with Jiu Jitsu. I credit the amazing staff- Coach Aric, Coach Riley and Coach Mike with understanding how to create such an amazing learning environment where students are encouraged to be their best and to grow. These coaches care about each of their students deeply and are passionate about quality instruction & providing hands on meaningful experience. You can feel that this is a high caliber atmosphere when you walk in the door and meet the coaches. In my experience over the past year, I have been so impressed with the culture that has been created and cultivated. I was so inspired by all of this that I joined along with my kids and personally do the fitness classes now. There are many families who are a part of the gym and what I really appreciate is that each individual (whether they are a newbie or expert, old or a young kid) is treated with respect and are encouraged to challenge themselves. I train at Shoreline MMA (Alderwood MMA is owned and operated by the same people) and I recommended AMMA to one of my co-workers a few months ago. He wanted to get his kids into a new sport so I told him about Coach Wise and the Shoreline/Alderwood locations. I've watched Coach Wise run kids BJJ classes and he's amazing with them. Turns out that not only did my co-worker's kids love the classes, my co-worker decided to start training, too. I think that says a lot about AMMA and about how Coach Wise runs his gyms. If you live near Alderwood and want to train, I can't recommend it enough. Coach Wise and his staff are highly skilled, experienced, friendly and fun.
