First off this is not a review for this location, but of the experience in general for FITTheorem PNW. I signed up with them for the Everett location because I live in Marysville, they had some issues at the Everett location and say they are temporarily closing to do some work. This leaves Lynnwood as the only location nearby. Their contract says that if they have a functioning gym within 25 miles of your home REGARDLESS of if this is your "home" gym or not they don't have to provide refunds pauses or any other remedy. SO even though they closed the gym I signed up with I have no recurse because I live exactly 24 miles from their Lynnwood location (previously I was only 12 miles according to Google from the Everett location.) On top of this I wrote their email almost 3 weeks ago saying this is unacceptable please credit my account for the missed time. I didn't ask for a refund I basically said I can't do the commute just add time and when Everett is done I'll resume. NO DICE! They said too bad sorry no sorry tough luck blah blah blah. We don't care. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT MEMBERS AND WILL NOT BE HELPFUL IF THEY CAN AVOID IT. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE. DON'T LET THEM SCAM YOU! read more

I feel like I'm writing this review as a PSA. Don't walk through the doors of this place. They will trick you into a misleading contract. I got roped in by Chloe the nutritionist- the nutrition part of the program is trash. However the workout was fun. Nothing is free once you sign a contract- and if you sign up for a month-to-month, you're obligated to 61 days. Which is pretty standard if you sign up for a gym, but when I signed up, it was implied I can quit at any time. Just go to Title boxing, the folks there work with integrity and the workouts are equally as challenging and fun. read more

Beware of their false advertisements on Facebook. The 6 week challenge is not free and actually costs $700. Generally speaking, it's safe to lose 2% body fat per month. So they advertise the challenge as free and promise a refund if you lose 6% body fat - making it impossible to qualify for a refund. They should be reported and shutdown. read more

I want to share a negative experience with lynnwood Fittheorem. I finally got my mental health and motivation back up after a hard miscarriage to go back to working out and I signed up in Lynnwood for a year membership. I explained I was trying to get pregnant again and asked what the pause or cancelation policy would be when/if I did get pregnant- specifying clearly that I would only sign up if I could pause/cancel when I got pregnant. I was told by 2 individuals that, and a quote, "pregnancy was a qualifying condition to cancel or pause." Apparently that was a lie. You have to have a medically diagnosed condition during pregnancy that prohibits exercise and a note from your OB supporting that. While I can still exercise and am a fitness professional (licensed physical therapist), doing these classes is not something I felt safe or comfortable doing after my miscarriage. Also, I have severe "all day sickness" during pregnancy that is debilitating. They didn't listen to me at all and basically said morning sickness didn't qualify as an "excuse." I never write bad reviews for companies, but I felt this was over the top. I would have happily paid for my year and come back post baby when I was cleared. But instead I'm in a financial battle with keyboard warriors that won't pick up the phone and front desk people who won't call me back or stand by what they told me when I signed up. I'm very disappointed to be treated this way when I was a willing, paying customer. read more

I know longer endorse Fitt Thoerem corporation fitness studios. Super sad to share I have given my cancellation notice. The amazing community that supported each other for years is dissolving as the new owner/management continues to destroy what was once awarded the best fitness studio in Kent and Federal Way. Not sure where I will find such a connected community or the most genuine coaches ever BUT it seams Fitt Theorem prefers a "Toxicity model" of bashing their staff and clients. I patiently played devils advocate for a positive transition, until numerous screenshots were shared of their current management privately message others, cancelling members who complain and even lying in messages. We are all sad to leave but we have "Fighter spirit blood" and we plan to find a new community together. Don't go to FT unless you like to pay money, drive to class and find out it's cancelled. read more

Be careful when you purchase classes or become a member here. I had 112 classes and I put my classcard membership on hold due to pregnancy in 2019 and covid in 2020, they didn't say anything about there is a due date for this "hold". Now when I want to resume my membership they just told me they can only honor 17 classes (out of 112) as credits for me to purchase their new membership. Way to steal money! FYI. It took them 1.5 months to answer my questions about resuming my membership. I had to send an email every two weeks to remind them to give me an update! So shady. read more

These asswipes too $945 from my checking account without any authority!!!! I was a previous member of Best Hour Kick Boxing. They sold the business to these thieves. I quit this gym months ago. I emailed them to inform them they committed fraud by taking money from my checking account. I never had a contract with these asswipes! After I wrote them an email because you can't a live body they wrote: "The account was in a negative balance. On the 1st of every month, all negative balances are attempted to collect. Your account is now current." Really? Months have gone by and now you steal my money. For you military veterans (25 years of service) I promise you and others that they stole money. I am filing a report with the Federal Way Police and also taking them to court to settle this! Sad you can't get a call from them. They hide behind their email. If you go to the gym they give you a billing email. Billing email response says they only respond on Thursdays and Saturdays through some BS Gmail account. Truth be told I promise I will have my day with these crooks. Unbelievable months and months go by and the steal my money! Stay away!! read more

I love this gym! It's location is very convenient, the trainers are highly motivating, and the workouts are amazing every time!! I highly recommend even if you are new to kickboxing. They offer a lot of instruction and advice but also let you have the space to learn at your own pace! You will feel healthier and leave tired and sweaty after each and every workout. The instructors are energetic (especially Gabby) and they get you moving right away for the first 15 minutes. They call it a warm-up, but it's really a workout on its own. It's really intense and fast. No breaks. Then after stretching (while listening to announcements and etc), you go into bag rounds; 5 rounds total plus a speed round. You watch the instructor modeling the combo, and you do it for about 3 minutes. It's fun to punch and kick but it's also hard work! Then comes partner work, which is probably my favorite part. This gym definitely has a community feel- there are like 3 instructors working on the floor every class and they all are involved with helping people or bringing up the energy in the room. The people who work out seem like regulars and there are constantly new people coming in to try out ilovekickboxing. They always acknowledge newcomers and take a group photo at the end of class. read more

Setting up your first class is a little harder because the instructors are always busy teaching and plus it's super loud in the gym but if you can't get a hold of them try messaging them on Facebook. Once you set up your first class it is a lot easier to get scheduled in. Not sure what I was expecting but I got a good work out so that's all I really wanted. The instructors were super friendly and the free box glove was actually really nice quality. It's mostly a all women class which always makes it feel like a safer space. read more

Pretty disappointed at getting a membership here! Or trying to get a membership. I was with title boxing studio before when I lived in city (it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!) and after moved to Lynnwood I want to find another boxing studio. I called first to inquire if I could come and try a class to see if I want to sign up. Well I think most of the workout studios offers such thing but they don't! They asked me to purchase a 3-classes combo online. ( although I think it doesn't make sense, what if I don't like your class, the rest of 2 classes would be a waste for me! And paying for that doesn't fully make sense!) Okay okay... I did purchase eventually!) Because I really love boxing. I called again inquiring if I could come to try a class, then they told me before trying a class you have to attend a orientation class, which ONLY available at Wednesday 3pm and Saturday 1pm...‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ for a person works at daytime only able to workout at evening this time doesn't work for me unless I take time off for this( which means not get paid)! I asked if any other time could possibly work or if I could be there at evening just watch for a class before I can attending one later, NOPE! It made me feel they just don't really welcome me ... not uplifting, not encouraging, nor even TRY to make any suggestions or help me... feel quite disappointed and discouraged I consider myself is a very positive person, I don't think I never left any negative feedback on Yelp about other businesses. I don't know if classes here would be awesome or not, But my experience trying to get myself to try a class so far is discouraged feeling sad about it. P.S: The first time I called, I spoke with a guy called Nyke, he sound very positive and uplifting, it was great talking w him and get to know a bit about the studio. My second phone call tried to schedule a time to try a class was unpleasant! I would absolutely recommend this gym!! The coaches are extremely supportive and have incredible energy. They provide all the information and equipment needed to reach and maintain your fitness goals. The classes become addicting which is good because it keeps you in shape and excited to workout. 12/10 recommend! I started here about 7 months ago. I had been doing kickboxing with a friend 1x a week outside of this studio and became obsessed. I wanted to do it more often so I tried 2 MMA gyms, but wasn't my jam. Landed at FitTherom and LOVED it from day one. Having the music blasting, hitting combos, with instructors high energy is a vibe and addicting! Do NOT go here! I just spoke with a close friend of mine that went in this morning to speak with an instructor. She had a terrible experience. She said that the instructor was not nice and used her personal story against her! She felt like she was backed into a corner to pay something when she really didn't want to and didn't feel comfortable being there or even speaking with the instructor. She went in to better herself and walked out feeling crappy about herself. The instructor was asking real deep personal questions about her finances; uncalled for. I know this is a business, but it's not your business to make someone feel bad about themselves and backed into a corner to take a class when that person doesn't want to. read more

In a desperate attempt to revive my non-existent kickboxing career under the stage name of "Saucy Peaks", I purchased a Groupon for 10 classes at ilovekickboxing.com. The lure of free boxing gloves and intense workouts at the expense of injuring my lower back was just too great to ignore. It was easy to set up my first appointment with Kim half an hour before a noon class. She showed me the facilities - one ladies' change room with lockers and one toilet and an overflow locker room for the guys, whom I was told were virtually non-existent, as mostly women who like to punch things take the classes. One free boxing glove and a pair of hand wraps later, I was standing at the punching bag reserved for newbies, with Kim showing me the different punches, jabs and kicks. There are regular classes throughout the day, every day of the week. Each class is an hour long and starts off with 15 minutes of high intensity cardio - a combination of jogging around the room, high knees, squats, burpees, push ups - basically every intense cardio exercise you abhor performed multiple times non stop to throbbing music and and instructor yelling at you, telling you to do MORE and HARDER.There is a strong sense of camaraderie among fellow classmates as you give each other knowing looks before passing out on the floor or drooling on your punch bags. The warm up is followed by several timed rounds of increasingly-difficult kickboxing routines, starting with upper body work then moving onto a combination of lower and upper body moves. Each person works with a floor-standing punching bag and there are about 15-20 bags available. After our routines, we buddy up with someone to perform more timed kickboxing half-exhausted upper body jabs and ab exercises. The classes are lead by one instructor and usually spotted by another, which is great, as it's easy for a newbie to perform the routines incorrectly and hurt herself. Although the atmosphere is frenetic, complete with upbeat music, an annoying bell that signals the near-end and then the end of each round- everyone works at her own pace, though she may be yelled at for SLACKING. Despite my getting the Groupon for a series of classes and loving the workouts, I ended up going to only two, as the routines were aggravating an old back injury. Another deterrent is the price and the limited pricing plans available. You can only purchase an annual plan or a pretty expensive per-class plan to be used within a certain period of time. For the annual plan, unless you foresee making ilovekickboxing your only fitness option and you go almost every day, each class will cost more than boot camp or monthly membership at the gym. Of course, with ilovekickboxing you get the smaller group classes, fun atmosphere and a lot of encouragement in the form of yelling and the fear of looking like an ass in front of strangers. But considering the fact that the only equipment is a non-human punching bag and some floor mats, I find the classes to be a little over-priced. For a human punching bag in the likeness of my exes, I may consider paying even more. read more

I signed up for the 3 day special and was nervous. I'm a big girl on a weight loss journey, so the thought of kickboxing never crossed my mind because I always assumed it was in shape beasts. So I made my first appointment and off I went. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the amazing Gabie. She was very warm and welcoming. She sat me down and told me about the gym and how they do things. She asked me what my goals were and how she can help me achieve them. She also addressed any concerns I may have had. I let her know that with me being obese that I will probably need a few things modified. Without hesitation, she gave me different things I could do in place of, for example, burpees. I was so relieved. I felt comfortable and at ease. After she gave me a tour and gave me my boxing gloves, it was time for the class to start. To my surprise, there was a huge mix of all types of people with different body shapes. I felt good about that. Another trainer, Nyke, came over and introduced himself. He was going to training me on the bags. He, too, was sweet and supportive. He showed me the ropes of how to punch, jab, kick (along with Gabie). I was actually pushing through my fears that I couldn't do it! I did it and it was because I had their amazing support! I can't tell you guys how much I appreciated them being there to encourage me to keep going, but at my pace. I am now a full member!! Join! You won't be disappointed!! read more

So get comfy cause this will be a little of a long one. Long story short I got some medical issues tied up into some motivation issues along with some "I love chicken wings and too much beer" issues. Being from San Diego I never really found it hard to get out and get in the outdoors until moving to Washington. Now I'm not saying the PNW isn't one of the badass places to explore but when you have the gloom of winter and want a motivation you need to send in a SOS sometimes. So I stumbled upon this wonderful gem about two months ago and let me tell you folks THIS IS WHERE YOU GOTTA BE! I was first hesitant about it all because what was I thinking? A girl my size, in the shape I am in, with the motivation I have? Well this place had me trippin, stumblin.. a Fergie kinda way. (Pun intended). So get this they have great deals to start you off so always check online or call them! You'll have to call to make the appointment to come into the first class anyways so hey you'll have to call already! The first day is nothing like the first day of P.E. in High School, where you're terrified you'll do something wrong or look ridiculous because you get a trainer that helps ya out! But this is where the fun starts. You get a bad ass warm up..where you might just die. (In good ways). After stretching follows the best part BAG WORK. This is where you get to think about everything that has made you upset that day and show them bags who's boss! We do partner work after ,which is always good warm up for the family photo at the end because you get introduced to a new face if you haven't met before. The overall atmosphere is great throughout the class! You have a great variety of women/men that are on different levels of their own fitness goals within each class. This doesn't hold back any individual as the type of workout is easy to tailor to each individual from experienced to on that "I love chicken wings and too much beer" level. They have a good amount of classes in the morning and evening so you can sweat and get fit when it fits in with your daily grind. The best part I love about ILKB is they check in like good ole mom..meaning you WILL show to class..if you don't. They will find you and make you come home like mama does for Sunday dinner! Family doesn't let you lose your motivation! I guess I gave you a basic run down and the insight of the family. Sorry not sorry. I'm so extremely happy I've found such a great place to go to get my fit life style back on track and invite you into our fitfam! read more

The employees are rude, condescending and uncommunicative. Especially with the contract. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone and they have given a great workout a horrible name. If you ever cancel your membership with them, check your bank statements! I've already had it continue to pull $138 twice from my account even though I don't have a membership with them anymore! It took forever to get a refund and I never even got a response from them explaining why that happened or confirming that they took my account information off their system! And here I am again requesting for ANOTHER refund because they pulled ANOTHER monthly payment from my account! I started going to ILKB on Saturday for orientation. The class is amazing with the staff being helpful, friendly, and organized. I came in today (Wednesday) to see what a full hour was worth. Not much of an update since I first rated them 5 stars and my review still stands! I thought I'd give it some time and then post an update. I joined 2 months ago, and if anything, I like them more now than I did when I first joined. Even though some things are easier now than they were when I first joined, each class is still challenging but I get more and more confident each day. When I first joined I said I would "try" to go 3 days a week, and now go 6 days a week. Hell, I'd go 7 days a week if they weren't closed on Sundays! It's an amazing workout and the community atmosphere is the best! I started being healthy in May and this has contributed hugely to my success. I saw a Groupon and bought it. I bought the 10 classes! The classes were so good and intense that I would loose about 2 pounds each class I did! I never got to finish the rest of my classes because they never answer the phone so I could schedule, so that's where it looses a star. But other than that, very amazing and a good workout! After seeing an amazing deal of 5 classes for $15 plus free gloves, I decided to finally try ILKB in Lynnwood. I've always had trouble finding something active that I would enjoy. After the first class, my friend and I decided to become a member and I don't regret it! I try to go as much as I can and feel great every time -- physically and mentally. The instructors are really nice and helpful. They push you in a good way and leave you feeling accomplished. They're also great with any adjustments you might need in the workout. read more

Had a great time while I was actually able to use my membership. Great work outs and friendly enough staff. I signed up for my membership telling the ladies that I was possibly having arm surgery and that I didn't know if I could do this long term they had me sign up for a 12 month membership saying that I could still cancel at any time but that it would give me the best price. I haven't been able to use the service since June and have tried to cancel many times since then and still am being charged. $825 worth of unused services charged to my credit card later.... read more

Another update ALL but one instructor are awesome. Yep, it's the one who almost hit me with the bag on my first class as a member. She was bitching and rolling her eyes at me saying "whatever" when I didn't follow her combo. I got really upset and had to leave the class half way. I don't need that kind of negativity and shitty attitude after all I have been through at work the whole day. Combos change every round and every class to keep it interesting and work out different areas of our bodies, it's hard to follow and I just punch the bag at my own pace sometimes. I make sure to always choose a bag at the corner so not to disturb others. I don't think I deserve the judgment from her. Nyke and Momo and ALL other instructors are awesome. I like their classes. "You can do anything in 30 seconds! Don't give up on yourself" they are always cheerful, encouraging and super friendly. They sometimes share fun stories during stretching and there's never a dull moment! I wish there's a fixed schedule where they let you know who the instructor of the class is beforehand. I will avoid that lady at all cost. *update! Back in San Francisco I have been doing kickboxing and karate for almost a year and they taught me proper forms. It did get boring sometimes. Then I moved to Washington and joined ilovekickboxing, the classes are more fun! They keep you motivated. The first class here was awesome, I had so much fun that I decided to sign up for 12 months. The second class was a total disappointment... the instructor was unprofessional, her combo was weird and hard to follow. She's always talking to the nice ladies at the counter instead of guiding the class like she's supposed to. The laughter amplified via her mic and it's distracting. She moved the bag at one point while I was beside it. I was having a water break at the edge of the mat. The heavy bag bounced and hit the water bottle in my hand. I'm sure it was just an accident but she didn't even stop and check. The other instructors helped during warm up and showed us the proper form. There was a lady who's late for class and missed most part of the warm up, one of the instructors did a quick one to one with her to keep her from injuries. This is really nice and sweet. The floor was dusty and everyone's feet were dirty at the end of the class but it's no big deal. The restroom has everything you will ever need, locker room is well kept. There's a gender neutral locker room, very inclusive place. Most of the staff are friendly and very energetic. Class was not too crowded and there's space to move around. I recently saw a advertisement for free vouchers for a 6 wk challenge to change your life. They reached out to me right away with text msgs and set a appointment they said would only be 15 min. Which was not true. They pitched there services and made everything sound great, like I was finally gana get the help I needed only to be told towards the end none of it was possible without a large deposit. As soon as I said I didn't have the money the interview was over. Nothing was free. I think it's horrible that they would get my hopes up and tell me everything I wanted to hear just to be let down hard in the end. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I told them how long which is most of my life that I needed help with weight loss, eating habits, motivation and how I've been dieing inside and the struggle that has literally handicapped me all because of bad habits within my life style. read more

I was excited to join, it is very expensive but I tried the groupon and loved the workout. They get you the first class and try to make you sign up right away, I wanted to give it a couple classes (kind of the reason why you purchase more than one classes to see if you like it) before signing on the dotted line. I asked if the deal would last if I wanted to sign up after I was done with my promotion. One of the instructor stated that she would speak to the owner and get back to me. I came in to the next class and the same instructor asked me if I was signing up and I asked did you talk to the owner? She said oh ya, I have to do that. At the end of class I spoke with her about my son signing up, he was about to turn 19 and she asked me if he lived with me and I said yes he is a full time college student and would love this class. She told me that they have family plans and then said to have him do the online discount classes to see if he would like it first. So he did. The next class and the next class she continued to ask me if I was going to sign up and I would ask her if she talked to the owner or if the owner could just call me. But none of this happened. I waited never patiently. Finally my son and I went in to sign up hoping that maybe it would all just work itself out. Fingers crossed, right. Well, I was very, very wrong. First they don't offer a family plan for kids over 18 anymore (they did when we were going but not now) and I ask to speak with management. First I got an email, which after all of this it was upsetting. So it took me emailing back an upsetting email to get a call. And after all of the back and forth we are still not going to be able to get the family plan that we were offered. There is no way a fulltime college student can pay full price. They just lost both of us as customers. read more

I have been calling them several times because I saw them on Groupon. Didn't get a single person to answer the phone but I was OK. So I left a message with my phone number twice as a suggested that we leave our number twice. So I did waited for a whole day no reply. Called again today and the evening. And asked the same question because there was still no reply or no answer. I see such great reviews and I'm so excited that I want to try kickboxing for the first time in my life. But I guess they weren't prepared for such a great feedback from people. It's a little sad I was going to buy two packages from Groupon just to try and if we loved it we would have continued. hopefully they will get more people to work for them.
