While I've had positive visits in the past, my last visit was disappointing. The reason for…read morerequested diagnostics were not fully explained and there was no mention of billing so that I could make an informed decision. I should have read the forms more carefully, but it would be helpful for the physician and technicians to go over them verbally. I was told later that there was no way to no what the cost would be. However, I was given a bill promptly after the diagnostics with an amount. In other practices, such as optometrists, a full rundown of costs are given before you purchase an item. It isn't difficult. So, I find it unconvincing that a routine test and standard insurance deductibles could not be estimated beforehand. Another issue I encountered at this office during several visits was the display of a bible -- once in an exam room and later in the waiting room. I was told that patients sometimes leave items. But there was no indication that they intended to do anything about it. I find it hard to believe people randomly leave items in exam rooms without them being noticed and removed. I think it's important to create a neutral and welcoming environment for all patients, not just a select group. So, Lewis Gale Physicians apparently are either proselytizing or pandering. Neither is useful in a medical practice. I will likely be looking for an alternative that treats all patients respectfully, discloses costs, and communicates more effectively.

When I walked in I was instantly greeted with a huge smile from the lady at the front desk. I was taken back soon after signing in. Every single person I met was absolutely wonderful, welcoming, kind, and very easy to talk to. When talking with Amber Neal I instantly felt comfortable and I felt like I was in very good hands with this office. I have never had such an excellent experience and I am very grateful to now have such a supportive and kind family physician. I would and have already recommended this office to every single person I know in the area. If I could give this office 10 stars, I would.

She is an excellent doctor with a terrific personality! I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes in her waiting room and she actually will come out and get you herself! I really like that about her! I don't mind waiting on her, because a good doctor is worth waiting on! She listens to what I have to say while we are in the examination room. Overall, Dr. Zhang is an excellent, friendly, easy to talk to physician. I would recommend her to anyone.

I am disappointed in the payment/insurance billing process. I was told today that the annual vision…read moreexam would not be charged to my vision insurance plan because it was a "medical" exam - not a vision exam. The purpose of the exam was an annual check-up. I wear contacts. The first contact trial made my vision worse. The second testing was on target. I thought I had paid the bill in full last week but today was told of another $94.00 charge. The front office handled things poorly, when I asked questions. The explanation given was that I was older, and this was the way it was done for older patients. I am 72. I don't have glaucoma. I don't have cataracts. I do have some neurological problems. I declined to speak with Dr. Jacobs at the time because I felt the need to remove myself from the situation. I respect his expertise. However, I will not be returning to this practice because of the billing methods. My husband recently had a good experience. He had his annual vision exam and purchased glasses a for a quarter of my cost using the same vision insurance. His visit was not labeled "medical". He is seven years older than I am. Live and learn.
