I cannot say enough good things about Ted Barry Tuxedos. Not only is the quality of their tuxedos the best we have found in the area, the customer service is outstanding! They are also very reasonably priced. We recently had a "Tux Emergency" and required a tuxedo for a next day black tie affair for our college son. This place is AWFUL! Used them for a wedding a while back but never got around to writing this review. As I was recently reminded of the experience, I wanted to get this out there for others to read before Ted Barry ruins someone else's important day. Compete trash owns this business. Every single tuxedo was fitted for Shaquille O'Neal including my 3 year old nephews. Yes, Shaquille O'Neal, the NBA player. When this was brought to their attention they quickly got nasty and blamed out of town measurements for creating tuxedos fitted for shaq. Apparently, men's wearhouse doesn't know how to measure because they were off by 1 and a half feet. These business owners were downright nasty and only cared about payment. Shocked they're still in business to be honest. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! And they will surely remind you about the costs. read more

Terrible service! We were THREATENED by the lady named Arina for returning the tux. She didn't do a great job with it. It was messy and it didn't fit. She tried to force us to take it, even though it didn't fit. The tux was LARGE!!! She hurled out insults to us. She will bite back, if you ever try to get a refund. But HER WORK IS tacky. Work on being better. We called her to find out when we were to receive our refund, she claimed that we never purchased from her. When we have proof that we were there. If you need suspenders and a tuxedo shirt to update your tux, staff are far more accommodating than national retailers at the mall. The price for a set of new suspenders in the shirt at Ted Barry cost less than a set as suspenders at one of the upscale retailers. Much larger supply, and very kind staff. read more

I'm very nonchalant. But for my wedding I was being very particular with what I wanted. Unfortunately for me I'm a procrastinator so the original jacket I wanted couldn't be made because I waited to long to place my order. I shopped near far and visited countless shops looking for what I wanted. I live down by downtown Miami. Ted Barry's isn't even remotely close to me. At least a good 45 minute ride up I-95 alone without traffic. But they were recommended to me by another shop not to far from them. So I stepped on in and got to work. At first, I settled. I went with something nice, but deep inside I wasn't happy with my choice at all. It was too safe for me. I had to go in for a second measurement a few weeks later because I was planning on losing weight. But when I went in for my final fitting, Arina and I got into conversation. I expressed I was eyeing this other jacket, and eyeing for a different look all together. Arina took the reins and got to work. We got me measured. And totally switched up the whole look. But there were a few things I wasn't sure with. I was gonna go with the tie. But Alina insisted I go with a bow tie. I wasn't convinced, but I said "F**k it!" I knew I needed to step out of my comfort zone or I would have been unhappy like I was before. Arina found me the right shade of my color to help match my vest. And she put the suit together. But there was one final touch I wasn't sure about. My tux was on point, but I needed something to pop. Something to stand out just a little bit more. That's when Arina suggested the shoes. OH MY GOD the shoes!!! I had already ordered my classic black shoes for the tux. But I wasn't content with them either. I needed more. Arina pulled out the perfect pair. They couldn't have matched any better. It was the perfect accessory to my tux. And it was a huge conversation piece at the wedding. Everyone loved the tux and the shoes. I felt like a million dollars once I was dressed for my wedding. My wife was completely shocked and said she fell in love all over again. My day was unbelievable and Arina helped make it that way!! Had a great experience. The owner Arina was great to work with and very helpful in all ways. Our Tuxedos were ready when scheduled and fit great for the most part. If any adjustments were needed, Arina made them on the spot in a matter of minutes. The service was personal and great as was the whole tuxedo rental experience. She is a pleasure to work with. For the record, I had also went to Men's Warehouse as it was closer to my home but they were rude and would barely give me the time of day as I wasn't ready to place an order at the time. Absolute worst experience I could imagine... the place is in operation for 5 hours out the day and doesn't provide any drop off for working people, so I looked past that and was only met with more disgusting attitude after I tried to come to some resolution instead Serena threatens to charge the bride and groom if I drop it off a day late.. then when I arrived on time after having to go on my lunch break a customer asked how I was doing and Serena responded for me and said "not good" which was disgusting and u professional to say the least I'm very upset with her behavior and she should be fired!!! So much better than the warehouse setting. This shop owner was so nice and accommodating. I rented a tux here for the first time for my son's prom. He's an athlete and runs a pretty crazy schedule. We were stuck in traffic getting there and she stayed late knowing we were on our way, by the time we arrived, she already had several looks pulled to meet the theme of his event as I had previously mentioned it on the phone. She took into account the age and body type...everything. The customer service definitely exceeded my expectations and the selection did as well. The pricing was competitive, alterations were perfect, tux was ready on time, and they were flexible on the return due to his athletic schedule. I really couldn't ask for more. He looked incredible. Out of all the tux places I visited they were by far the best. I visited 1 in Boca, 1 in Boynton and Ted. They still were not good enough to beat Macy's and just buy my own tux (costs like $250-300 to rent and $350 to buy with alternations at macys). However, they were much more organized and had the inventory to measure and fit me properly. If you need a tux and need it right away I'd suggest using them. They have a special if you rent like 5/6 or something you get the groom free. My guys already bought suits so this promotion didn't really apply to me. read more

As father of the bride, I was "responsible" for three tuxedos (mine, grooms, best man's). I was also governed by my wife's and daughter's taste in colors and styles. But that was okay, because they have a wide spectrum of colors of vests (and accessories), and a couple of choices of jacket and trouser colors and trims. Indeed, the ladies had trouble deciding which shade of green (the groom's Irish) to pick (must have been about a dozen of them - indeed, a dozen shades, it seems, of all the colors - maybe even a few "unusual" ones that you wouldn't be caught dead in). Anyway, Carol was a wealth of information and suggestions - that's one really knowledgeable lady! Ted did the measuring, but Carol was there looking over his shoulder (so to speak), and suggesting adjustments ("That doesn't look right, let him try a larger size"; "Not bad, but let's see how he looks in a slightly darker shade"). We really appreciated her suggestions, and even though some things were not "traditional" she had no problem with my wife's and daughter's decisions. My daughter even went back AFTER we placed the order, and changed some of the colors. No big deal for Carolyn. Changes made with a smile. I would note that in most shades they have bow ties and pre-tied ties (unfortunately, no tie-it-yourself ties, which I prefer). I wanted a bow tie, but it wasn't available in the shade the ladies picked. Oh well - nothing to lose sleep over. Several other customers we present while we were, and she handled them all with courtesy and efficiency. I was impressed with her ability to relate to her customers. Indeed the negative reviews I have read seem totally inconsistent with our experience. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be that the white patent leather shoes I wore were a little uncomfortable (something not uncommon with such shoes). My wife put some padding inside the heel, and that made the shoes work better. But for the three hours I had to wear them, it was only a minor distraction. I'm realistic, and I know better than to be unrealistic in expectations. For example, they have business hours, and it's unreasonable to expect a business to open up outside those hours, even if it's an inconvenience for the customer. Yet Carol stayed a little bit late when we picked up our tuxes, just to be sure we were happy, and she seemed like a gracious hostess the whole time. They expect everything to be returned the first business day after the wedding. That's fair. They have to recycle everything for new customers, and we really had no need for them after the wedding. I gave them top rating in all categories, but I'd add a 6th star for service, primarily because Carol was so gracious and helpful. So, thank you, Carol, and in case you might not recognize who I am, my daughter was the bride with the green hair (funny, because there's no Irish in our lineage). read more
