We were looking for a new place to hike and came across Panorama on yelp. There is parking at the bottom of the restaurant and a pathway that leads up. What a nice hike! It it made up of a dirt path, rocks, and paved street. I wouldn't wear shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. The views are gorgeous! Especially at sunrise and sunset. You can park in the lower lot by the Summit Hoyse and enter the path there. read more

I am in love with this nature spot! It's an easy trail, and there are nice viewpoints for watching the sunset. I was in awe when I was able to see DTLA from here, and truly a panoramic view of OC, hence the name. It's a rocky, wide path that goes through a golf course and by a neighborhood. I saw a lot of cute quails running from bush to bush. Can't wait to come back for more sunsets! read more

Oh how i have found a gem of a place... some of the pictures do not do any justice to how it actually looks with the naked eye. I took my dear to this view to have a picnic together and we both so so loved it! The parking is a little tricky. there is a parking down below the restaurant it's right next to; you'd be lucky if you could find a parking spot on the restaurant level. If you can't there's a bottom parking space that you could park at and follow the trail that goes up! At first the trail looks hopeless as though there is no grass or view up ahead. Fear not! Just keep walking up and eventually you'll come across this little secret place that holds a sign of do not enter this is golf property... AHAHA who cares, no one was there at 6 pm! The trail is largely geared for small walks, small hikes, and light biking. Small pets are allowed on a leash, and you'll be able to get great sunset or sunrise photos from top of hill. You'll also fine a few benches and tables along the preserve. Now, the preserve is small, around 0.5 miles. From there, to skyline drive to the edge and end of ridgeline drive , and back, that trip will end up being around 1.75 to 2.0 miles. If you continue downwards towards the kids' baseball league field and onto brea Street and onto bastenchury Street and back to the parking lot, it turns into a 3 mile to 3.25 circle trip. For walkers and runners, the scenery is normally presented as being an upscale neighborhood with tailored and manicured paths. Littered with flowing downhills and steep uphills. For bikers, there are fast dirt trails and challenging uphills. For scenic people, the trail is open to taking photos. It's a clean and upscale location; with friendly people on the trail. It's a good place to enjoy time for yourself and / or with family and friends. Park vista is part of the larger trail system trail and where you can park. In my opinion, most of the trail is simple and largely located within a quiet neighborhood path and fenced with upscale homes and environment. In addition, the path flows the street and is unadventurous. If you're looking for a simple, well cared for trail with some great views and a location to enjoy a simple workout, this is your place. However, if you're looking for a serious path with more actual trails, feel ... then visit brea dam which is nearby. read more

What a beautiful, hidden gem! I didn't even know that there was a hiking trail behind the Summit House restaurant. The only time that I frequent this trail is when I'm out with my friend who lives in Fullerton since we both enjoy taking long walks. The trail is nestled near the restaurant and a golf course which explains the hilly feature. There is free parking next to the Summit House restaurant parking lot but if you're going on a weekend, I recommend going there a bit early before the dinner hour rush. The trail also opens and closes at a specific time. read more

This is a great little hike. The trail is short and fairly easy, parking is good, and the views are wonderful, especially in the early evening. Seeing the snow on the mountains and lights of the city were both pretty great. I think this will also be a nice morning walk for my dogs really soon! read more

This was a great spot! Easy to access and well maintained. It was not super busy either.

This is a quick and partially shaded trail. It has a nearby golf course and it is beautifully preserved! If you are in the area, there is also a park nearby where there are baseball games that you can watch. This trail is short but has a bit of an incline giving you a nice workout with a beautiful scenic view :) read more

Some friends and I unexpectedly went on this hike at the Panorama Nature Preserve in the evening after we decided to take a walk outside. I'm not accustomed to rating hikes since I don't go on too many, but I really enjoyed this one. It was not difficult at all, but still of decent length. It also offered a very nice view of Fullerton and the surrounding cities at the vista of the hike. We had just missed the sunset, but the view was still very pretty. Also considering we finished off the hike at night, visibility was still good. I was not wearing the appropriate shoes for hiking, so that should also speak to the fact that this hike is not too challenging at all. I'd definitely want to repeat this one to get another chance to check out the view from the top. read more

I went there today, got there 6:45 still bright super bright it was 85 degree. It's a very short hike, very small area that allows public, the rest belong to the golf course. There's not much to see, sunset is after 8 pm and it takes only 20 mins to walk thru the whole park. I walked out the same way I went in at 7:30 sun was still up and bright but they closed the gate which I thought would be closed after sunset as the sign says. I'm 130 lbs I and my big dog clawed thru the gap under to get out, if you're 250 lbs then you will have to spend the night there Lol Or they have other way to get out I don't know but I didn't see it. There are wild flies everywhere, get some insect repellent with you. If you see Summit House restaurant turn in there to park where it says "parking for park visitors" and look for white fences to walk up to the park read more

Panorama Nature Preserve is near the intersection of Bastanchury and State College and accessable from the parking lot for The Summit House. The park connects the parking lot to Ladera Vista Drive and offers a 360 view from the highest point in Fullerton. On most days, you can see the San Gabriel Mountains, the downtown skyline and Catalina Island (on clearer days). The lookouts also looks over several holes of Coyote Hills Golf Course. Park hours are 7AM to sunset. The entrances are usually locked after hours and managed by the grounds crew for the golf course. They don't always keep to the hours so sometimes you'll find the gates still locked after 7AM. However, for the regulars, there are ways to get around that issue. :) read more

I decided to check this nature preserve out since it's super close to my house and it looked like it had some good picture spots. The drive was very easy and directions are spot on, on yelp. It's located right by the Summit house so you can park there or there is some other parking spots available. My daughter and I walked up the trail and didn't go too far but it did have some nice views of Fullerton and beyond. The trail is right along a golf course also but signs are easily legible. Lots of plants/flowers if your into that. After the short time on the trial we walked over to the outside of the Summit house and they had a very nice outside. It's where you could get married and lots of nice picture spots especially near the bench they have. Overall pretty nice little spot! read more

It's a bit underwhelming considered the location is literally behind Summit House Restaurant; having to walk past The Restaurant to go behind made my family felt like we were trespassing. Besides with lots of trees covering the sunrise, it is still not easy to get a good view of any sunrise at all. read more

This place is unbelievable! The actual trail is short. So, if you're really into hiking this isn't the place to get that long hike in. One the other hand if you're not into hiking and just looking for a trail with a view, a quick stop with the family or a short walk with that special person, this is the place for you! On a clear day you can see the LA skyline, Hollywood sign, Mt Baldy, Disneyland and more! You can't access the trail at night but there is a small area of parking spaces that overlooks Orange County. Perfect for a stop on a date or just to enjoy the city lights you can also view the Disneyland fireworks but not completely. read more

Love this hike. It has a little of everything: Small hill, views of Fullerton and beyond (like LA on a good day), trail, weeds, through the million dollar homes on regular streets. This trail is made around the Coyotes Hill Golf Course. The trail zig zags and there is only 1 chair to sit the whole route. Yes, you can start on the bottle of the Summit House (Starts right by the sign) , or you can cross fence by one of the tees and start there, or you can pretty much start anywhere else once you got to know the trail a little more. There a small rocks along the road, not too polluted with trash unlike most places and small enough trail we don't really see bikers here. If you actually do the loop (click on the map, it's the dotted lines) , it's more than 3 miles (Right on Brea and Right on Bastanchury) with a little incline towards the end. It's slightly more of a workout than a beginners track. You'll encounter lots of locals with cute dogs here as well. read more

Kids love the view, yet this elevation and terrain I am thinking is an adults only hike for safety and serenity. Running the trails are fun here and it's clean. View of the local mountains was awesome. Bringing my family here for an outing. Parking at the Summit house was FREE and easy. We hiked early and enjoyed the photo ops and clean air. I recently added this bookmark and was eager to check it out. It's easily accessible via the Summit House parking lot; just follow the signs as you near the Coyote Hills golf course! Eye candy all around!! Not the type you're probably thinking of... but abundant, nonetheless! Bunnies, butterflies, squirrels, dragonflies, and oodles of flowers, trees & flowering bushes! And the views from up top *gasp* .... I can't wait to return for an evening excursion and take in the view of the city lights below!! The terrain varies along the path from paved trail, to horse trail, dirt & rocks, grass & mulch.... Definitely not a monotonous trek! Just be sure to stay on the trails and watch the signs... There is private property belonging to the nearby golf course and they want you to STAY OUT/OFF! This spot attracts all types... young, old, hikers, joggers, bicyclists, photographers, me.... Be sure your phone has a full charge because you will snap more photos than expected.... Other than selfies! :P read more

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and I finally came out over the weekend. I loved it. It's a great moderate trail. It's a little more than 3 miles all the way around which includes inclines. There's also a great view if there's no smog looming in the distance. You will have multiple spots where you can see the LA city, San Bernardino mountains, Chino Hills, the buildings in the orange outlet, the skyline of Long Beach, and just everything! The stars are for the views! So cool to see a true panoramic view. The trails aren't labeled clearly, so it can be tricky, but it was fun. Some reviews say the trail is 3mi; keep in mind it doesn't loop. So 1.5mi up and back down. read more

- Locale Destination - It is located on E Bastanchury and N State College Blvd in Fullerton. The park connects the parking lot to Ladera Vista Drive. You can get to it from the parking lot for "The Summit House". The customers of this restaurant really suck at the parallel parking (not necessarily Asians) along the hill, so just park your car at the normal flat parking - at the bottom of the hill. lol. It seems to have a wedding/party functions at the restaurant, so it could be difficult to find a parking spot on top of the hill. The "park" (I'm not so sure whether if I could call it as a "park" or not) offers a good panoramic view from the top of the hill in Fullerton. You can see downtown, stadium, the San Gabriel mountains, and Catalina island etc. This view point, not so much of "park", is located inside of Coyote Hills Golf Course. It's kinda cool to be able to see those right by downtown Fullerton. They also have a bench for the viewing. Park hours: 7 am to sunset. The entrances would be locked after hours and managed by the golf course staff. They'll let you know right before they are closed. They don't always keep the hours. - Conqueror's Deduction - Why 3 stars?! Well, it's a good place with a good panoramic view located right in the city conveniently (you don't need to drive far away for the view). But it's not as breathtaking as the scenery from Griffith observatory. And you really can't walk much since it's just a view point, not a "park"... Make sense? Park at restaurant lot, head towards gate/trailhead, continue straight onto the gravel area, there will be a slight incline, look right and you will see the bench and highest vista point. Very short walk so it's family friendly. If hiking/running the loop, not great for small kids and gravel can be a bit tough for strollers. Best view is at the top so the loop view is not that significant. No restroom. read more

Pretty good trail. It closes pretty early so we didn't get much time to check out the entire trail. It's located next to a golf course and a really nice restaurant that we will check out next time. This trail is wonderful for running or walking along with a friend. Open from sunrise to sunset, when you get to the top of the hill you can take in the view of the city. Full of cacti and various vegetation, you get a real nature experience. I would recommend this nature preserve to anyone. You should visit just before sunset to get an awesome view. read more

Now remember, this is just my opinion as you are reading this review... I got off of work early and I decided I wanted to check out this trail. I waited 'til about 7:30 'ish. If you can find parking, park at the Summit House. You can follow the trail signs. It's a dirt paved trail. I saw some dog poop along the way. I hate it when pet owners are irresponsible like that. It's not that hard to put a plastic bag on your dog's leash. Geez. Trash was also on the ground too. Maybe the city should put some poop bag stations and trash cans on the trail somewhere or at the entrance. I sat on a bench that overlooked the golf course. As I was enjoying the sunset and taking pictures, I noticed the graffiti on the wooden rail. That's so ghetto. Dry shrubs everywhere. The sunset was beautiful but that's all I can say about my experience here. I have a 10k Run coming up next month so I thought I could start training here. It just wasn't a good trail. This is a nice moderate recreational trail. This is perhaps best for beginners or those not trying to physically strain themselves too much. The view is nice. You get a very nice view of the Coyote Hills golf course but also a nice view of Orange County. Parking is great. There is usually more than enough parking for everyone. read more
